Kitchen Eighty Eight gets a solid four stars from me. We ordered the smaller burger, not the 8oz Thatcher, and it was genuinely good. Cooked nicely with that perfectly curated crispy smash-burger edge that makes you wonder why anyone still serves a burger without one. The raw onions were... aggressively raw. They showed up to work and understood the assignment. Still good, though. (I used to hate onions- but the last ten years have taught me they're great on burgers!) The fried food was good as well, and everything came out tasting fresh. Is this a five-star, life-altering, cancel-my-plans-and-tell-everyone-I-know burger experience? No. But it doesn't need to be. First of all, it's Kaysville Utah. What really stood out was the restaurant itself. It was very clean, the staff was friendly and actually seemed happy to be there, which is a surprisingly welcome change these days. And the atmosphere was great. It's the kind of place where you actually want to sit for a while, talk, digest your food, and enjoy yourself instead of stuffing your gullet while your surroundings quietly trigger the "we need to get out of here immediately" anxiety response. We were definitely happy with dinner. Good burger. Good people. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Comfortable atmosphere. I would give this place a solid 4 stars. The food was good and extremely LARGE portions. I ordered tacos. The chicken was extremely tender. It could be warmer. The salads could feed 3 adults no problem. There wasn't a WOW with their food; it was good but well, not memorable. Nothing flavorful popped. They do say the coleslaw has mangoes, not many to be found. Actually I never really tasted any mangoes. I love mangoes. Add more and at least that flavor would pop. Jalapeño slices were good and spicy. Simple fixes that they missed. I ordered tacos and was told it came with 2. I asked if I could have different meats on my tacos and was told no. The system won't allow it. I said "sounds like a lazy programmer!" The cashier replied "I just work here". The four worst words any customer facing employee can ever say to a customer! She could have said, I will certainly let my manager know. I can't think of any tacos restaurants that don't offer choice of meats. Then she proceeded to do the second worst thing a cashier can do! I asked for a water cup and she couldn't get to cups apart so she reached inside the cup with her fingers to pull the cups apart. Yes, the same fingers she uses to take money and make change. It would appear to me that this place needs to rethink their pricing. Steak is more expensive than chicken but this can be compensated for by increasing the price of their tacos plate. They also need to focus on employee interaction with customers and sanitary practices. read more

Appetizer--the fried Risotto fell apart in your hand and was difficult to dip before the middle fell out so it had to be eaten in a single bite. Entree--Beet and Squash salad was good but the salad dressing tasted watered down and had limited flavoring. Looking at what other people ordered, I'd opt for a burger next time. Went had ordered a dessert and they never brought it out so we had to go up and ask about it at the counter. Ugh. I'm sorry, but this will not be a glowing review. Surprised that Winger's is gone replaced by these guys. Went there today to check them out. Clean. They were quick to take my order. The food came out pretty quickly. That's when it all began to slide. The Grilled Tri-Tip was interesting. The meat did not have the look of something that was grilled. Yes, it had grill marks, but the meat was rather pale in color. It was cooked through out, but it didn't have the look and feel of something that had been cooked on a grill. We ordered some desert to go and this is where it all fell apart. Sat around for some 40 minutes waiting for it. Turns out they forgot. When the girl brought the bag out to us she just dropped it on the table and left. She did not look pleasant. I have serious doubts about returning here. read more

Newly opened, still working out some kinks. The space is open, inviting and very bright. Order off menu and they bring it to your table. Lots of salad and sandwich options. We got a cheeseburger and a tri-tip sandwich. Both of which were quite good. Got one with fries and one with a side salad. They have specialty lemonades, but unfortunately they didn't have the peach ginger variety. Service is friendly, attentive and accommodating. Our fries came out cold, and they promptly replaced them. Their side salad has a default vinaigrette dressing. I asked for blue cheese instead, and they gave me the salad with its default dressing, with blue cheese on the side. The salad also had some zucchini tops that snuck in. The entree sized salads that others around us had looked pretty impressive. No place to bus your own table. They'll take care of it for you. No doubt they'll work things out. There are a lot of solid options for next time. read more

When you walk in you go up to the counter to order. The scenery is nice and very kitchen-like and I liked that. The staff took our order and was nice about it but we noticed the strain in the atmosphere as more people came in for dinner. I ordered the catfish plate. It looked nice, served with rice pilaf and cherry tomatoes. The fish was......fishy tasting, not like catfish should taste. I know this sounds funny but the flavor was off. The rice and tomatoes had good flavor, buttery and tomatoey..nice. My family and I got our dessert to go. We got two of the Nutella cheesecakes and one apple crisp. It was taking a long time to get our desserts.....more than forty minutes went by so I went to the counter and asked about it. To my dismay they had lost our dessert order and said they would prepare it now. So I went to the bathroom in the hopes it would have arrived upon my return; it did but my son said the waitress just tossed our dessert bag on the table and walked away without a word of anything to apologize for the wait. We left. When we got home we had our desserts. The so called cheesecake wasn't cheesecake at all. It was a scoop of goopy filling. No cake or cookie base at all with three raspberries on the side and powdered sugar all over the box. These desserts were very expensive more than $8 each!! and they were very small. We were disappointed. The cheesecake didn't even taste like nutella.....so disappointed! Needless to say we won't be going back. read more

The food was delivered quickly. It is fresh and good! Plenty of seating. There are outside tables but they are not covered so it can be hot. We started out outside but it was too much in the sun. Nice variety of food. The line to place an order moves quickly. They bring your food to the table. There were a lot of customers when we were there. Parking was hard to come by but worth finding a spot! This is a great addition to Kaysville's restaurant selection. You will love the food! read more

Kitchen 88 is awesome!! Stopped in with my sister and we loved it. We shared a hot chicken sandwich - delicious with just the right amount of heat, and almost like a tempura batter on the chicken. It came with awesome hand cut, twice cooked fries and fry sauce and it was all so, so good. The salads are massive and look and sound amazing. Definitely want to try a salad next time, and there will be a next time. We need many more restaurants like this in Davis County! My new favorite place! read more

I thought these guys just took over the old Winger's Diner. They've completely rebuilt the building. Everything is new and roomy. The food was fresh and delicious. There were two people managing the tables, delivering the orders and bussing tables. This is upscale quick dining at its best. Yes you order at the counter but the food comes out on a plate as opposed to styrofoam. This place is going to do well. I hope I don't have to park down the street next time. read more

Best thing on the menu is the hot chicken sandwich. I love salads but have yet to be impressed by one here. As mentioned before, go for the sandwich. Both types of fries are good but you'll want some extra sauce! Service is fair. Oftentimes we get our meals at intervals which isn't ideal. I do appreciate them bringing what's ready when it's hot. Great location, appreciate the loyalty club they offer, inside is always a little noisy (and chilly) for me so I prefer outdoor seating. read more

I want to love this place but the food has been inconsistent in quality and temperature. My broccolini last week was fridge cold. Our food came out at different times so none of us could eat together, with the last persons kitten coming 10 mins after everyone else. We also ordered the apple salad to go and it was half the size of what you get when you dine in. The appetizer bruschetta was cold and soggy. I think we expected it to be warm and the bread toasted. The food was AMAZING! The service very good! Felt a little bad for the servers wandering looking for table numbers, but maybe a pattern will be learned. The ambiance was fun! A touch loud, but only if you are sensitive to sounds, my BFF is, so I notice these things. My husband for the spicy chicken sandwich, loved every bite. My son got the blue cheese burger, said it was very good, would order it with extra blue cheese sauce next time, but very good. I ordered the pork tenderloin, which my husband and son said was very good, the pink appearance freaked me out, but the Tri Tip was very good! Lastly, the apple crumble was truly divine!
