One of my husband's coworkers claimed he knew where to get the "best" cheesecake. I'm always up to try cheesecake and so I was definitely up to the task! The shop is about an hour and a half away from where I live. So I called ahead because I wanted to make sure there would still be cheesecakes available to buy. The girl that helped me on the phone was super sweet and guaranteed that my cheesecakes would be ready and available upon my arrival. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly, and I was immediately drawn to the glowing lights with beautiful baked goods! I ordered a peanut butter cheesecake, a raspberry New York cheesecake, a caramel cashew cheesecake, and a cookie dough cheesecake. Beautiful property with free roaming peacocks. Nice menu variety with everything from salads, pastas, burgers, and pizzas to seafood and steaks. Call up to 30 minutes in advance of arrival to be put on the waitlist. Our server was sweet and helpful and quick to bring out our food, which was great since we were all starving from our earlier rafting trip down the Weber River. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my bestie who in turn shared her mushroom Swiss burger with me. The fish and chips and chips had four average size pieces of battered halibut with some batter coated fries. The uniformed size and shape leads me to believe they are frozen. Nevertheless they still had a good flavor. For the side that comes with the meal, I chose the Parmesan and artichoke soup. It was tasty but would have been better if it was hotter. The burger was perfectly cooked and came with our side choice of onion rings our friend had gotten the Cobb salad sandwich which came on pita bread. I didn't try it but she said the white meat chicken was moist and had a good flavor but was a little too big for her (not a bad problem in my opinion) They have a beautiful desert cake and seem to specialize in mini individual cheesecakes in a wide variety of flavor options. We went with the keylime and peanut butter. The keylime was ok but in my opinion not tart enough and the very vibrant green color implies to me that the key lime flavor is artificial. All but one thing went well with our meal here. I ordered the Saturday night special MedRare and it came out well done. The place has an awesome vibe and loved seeing the peacocks roaming around the place. Wine selection was excellent, food great except as listed above, and the desserts were amazing. Our waiter, Greg, was outstanding. Best I have had in a long time. He tried making everything right with the prime rib and I want to thank him for that. However, it is so popular there wasn't another piece available. I'll give this spot another shot the next time we are up that way. read more

A staff member at another place recommended we check Taggart's Grill out while we were in the area. So we stopped in for a snack/dessert and drink. The place is really charming and appeared to be a local favorite! The peacocks on the property did a great job of posing for pictures with their feathers on full display! Their chicken mushroom artichoke soup was delicious! And their dessert cases were too beautiful to resist! Their cheesecake and coconut macarons were so good! We always make it a point to visit Taggart's whenever we're back in Utah. Great views and even better food.

Let me start off by saying 10 out of 10. We went here to eat with our little one and it was a great experience. The food was amazingly delicious. We tried the following: 1. Beer battered mushrooms: to DIE for. My mouth is watering still just thinking about these. It was SO crunchy and so, so delicious. It is a definite must have if you are here. 2. Steak & Eggs: steak was cooked perfectly, loved the potatoes, eggs and toast. Just your classic good ol' fashioned meal here. 3. Chicken and Waffles Benedict: this was super delicious. We went here on a Sunday for Sunday Brunch and it was a bit crowded. The wait was only 15-20 minutes so it wasn't as bad during the time I went (12pm/noon). There isn't a lot of parking so you will need to come early or you'll have to wait. The desserts here are also great. I love all of the cheesecakes. A lot of people bought the cookies so I'm sure those get sold out quick too. Bonus: you can see peacocks outside roaming around. Do note though, it is rattlesnake area so be careful where you walk around the outside of the restaurant. If you are active military, they do offer 10% discount off of your meal. read more

Taggart's Grill is a true hidden gem in Northern Utah. So hidden, many people we've introduced to it say "we never knew this was here!" My husband and I and a friend took our motorcycles out for a spin last Sunday and Taggart's was the destination. We arrived at around noon, and true to form, it was busy, but we got seated in less than 10-15 minutes. The host will offer to text you if that's how you prefer to be notified your table is ready, but we're old school, so we opted for a holler. Server Tenley was friendly and efficient (she's waited on us before), and the kitchen staff split my husband's and my lunch entree without a problem. We ordered the mushroom swiss burger and the mushrooms were sauteed to perfection and the french fries were nice and crispy. I particularly liked that the burger was served on a brioche bun instead of a plain jane white bun. They also do a great job with spinach enchiladas and eggs benedict. I've never tried their desserts, but they look amazing (the bakery case is right where you walk in). Probably for the best; I have a terrible sweet tooth! If you're ever traveling on I-84 near Morgan Utah, look for exit #108 and get ready to enjoy a tasty meal in a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. read more

Beautiful ambience. A setting up against the mountain cliff line right off the interstate. Parking is very limited in this place is always busy, so come early or come knowing there's a wait. They do not take reservations, but you can call 30 minutes ahead. There is a restriction with the call-in, if you don't report him within 30 minutes of your Appointed time you lose your spot. We ordered mimosas and our server offered an almost bottomless option to be more cost effective, they were great. Taggart's Grill is off the beaten path and WELL worth the drive. This delightful restaurant is tucked in the canyon and a perfect place for a summer patio meal. The food is excellent and service is great. The Cobb Sandwich is excellent - highly recommend. Very flavorful and love the house made pita. The chicken enchilada was delicious. They don't do poached eggs so kinda bummed about that. I decided against the eggs benny because of this. Roll is like a mini loaf of bread, it was HUGE! The NY strip came out a tad overcooked but not too much. It had a nice seasoning and was tender and juicy. The au gratin potatoes were absolutely amazing! There was so much food though. Taggarts is a long running staple in Morgan. We like to take the drive from SLC through East Canyon and into Morgan and stop by for a meal. Taggart's does comfort food so good! I had the weekend special of the Pot Roast. The meat was tender, the potatoes fluffy and covered in a nice gravy. My spouse had fish and chips and while they were good, they weren't great and he would not order again. The rolls are huge and herby. We tried the carrot cake to go and it was seriously one of the best carrot cakes we have tried! Delish. Fair warning it gets super busy on the weekends and you will wait awhile to get a table. We've dined at Taggart's for years and have really enjoyed the food taking many family members and friends along the way. Tonight we decided on a last minute dinner and ran up. My wife ordered the smoked salmon salad special and I decided to try their filet mignon. We were really disappointed. We gave some feedback to the waiter but because we mentioned multiple items I'm not sure we were really taken seriously---and no, we weren't looking for any compensation. Anyway I thought I would provide this review in hopes someone at Taggart's takes note and looks to make improvements---there are few places to eat in Morgan County and Taggart's has been a good one over the years and we would like to see that continue. Now for the specifics: The salmon salad had battered and deep fried avocado slices on top. They tasted horrible----like the oil they were cooked in was bad or something. The filet was surprisingly a little tough (I ordered it medium and it was cooked medium---so not an issue of over cooking.) The Asparagus was thin, dry, and very hard to cut with a steak knife. The au-gratin potatoes were way too salty. Anyway, have never had a dinner with so many misses as tonight. Hope it returns to the great quality it has been in the past. read more

Great dinner location with lots of home cooking options. The restaurant was super busy n a Friday night but plenty of tables so we were promptly seated. Our server had some great recommendations and within our table we had the pot roast, burger with a special request granted of 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings, and a flat bread pizza. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I personally had the pot roast served hot in a cast iron skillet for a down home personal touch. It also came with the option of soup or salad. It was delicious and filing (I even had some to take home) and I highly recommend it. We will definitely stop in again the next time we are in the area. But wait... don't forget dessert!! Solid food, great location and an overall fun time (Sunday brunch). Taggart Benedict was solid and the Salmon Benedict that my wife had was good as well. I'm picky about my eggs and they nailed over easy perfectly. (Too many places end up with way too much color on the eggs). My only complaint, and it really is just a minor thing, was that the potatoes were over salted. Not a big issue and probably very much Utah appropriate.... The service was solid and in fact they told us it would be a 25+ minute wait so part of our party went for a walk...less than 10 minutes in, I received the text that our table was ready.
