Hands down the best Chinese food in the area! We ordered Mongolian beef and Singapore noodles and hot and sour food! It was so good!

Good, cheap food. Helpful and friendly enough. I wouldn't eat at one of the four tables, but take it home once a week. Steamed veggies and shrimp with sauce on the side. Drove across town for this place because of generally good reviews on Yelp, but I am seriously underwhelmed by this food. Portions are plentiful and the place looks clean, but the food is very average cheap American-chinese fare. Moo Shu Pork was OK except the pork was gristly. The Pork Egg roll that came with a combo plate was nicely fried - I'll give them that - but the filling was tasteless. Shrimp lo mein also pretty tasteless. Not horrible, but won't go back. Best. Eggrolls. Ever. I'm extremely picky about the sauce on my chicken and eggrolls... King S'hing tops ALL chinese places I've experienced in MI thus far. I live an hour away, and go through withdraws. But the staff is always kind and friendly, and delivery is very fast. read more

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Michigan. I've been to dozens of them and have never been disappointed. It's nice to see the kitchen staff cutting fresh vegetables while you're ordering at the front counter. You can taste the difference even in the egg rolls that have a crispy shell and crunchy vegetables inside. Soggy egg rolls with oil saturated shells and limp vegetables drive me nuts. This place is definitely not that. Some of my favorite dishes there are garlic chicken, general's cicken and orange beef. Don't like dark meat? Just ask and they'll cook with white meat only. I sort of expect rude service when I go to Chinese restaurants. But this place takes the cake, this can only be viable business option if you have great food. The food is outstanding at King Shing and at an extremely affordable price. I got an orange chicken combination platter or, a large egg drop soup, and an order of crab Rangoon's for $15 even. Let me start by saying, it isn't the best Chinese food you'll ever have.. But it is VERY far from the worst! I've never ordered anything I didn't like and always good service. One thing I really like is that when you order for delivery it is straight to the point. No small talk or useless banter. I really like this as it speeds up the process in how fast you get your food. Also they always quote me around 45 minutes, but never has it been longer than 20! It really is a great place for quick delicious food. read more

The only thing I have negative to say is that the women who is always working there is sometimes rude on the phone but not that she knows us as a regular she is pretty nice. We chose this restaurant based on 4 out of 5 stars, and expected much better. If you like average priced entree's and good portion sizes, but don't care about flavor, then this is your place. If you expect quality food with taste, I would encourage you to search elsewhere. Pros: we picked up (take out), food was ready upon arrival food is reasonably priced portion sizes are great Cons: absolutely bland gen tso's chicken, hot and sour soup was "okay" and honestly I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, online menu stated they served eggplant, but when I called, the lady told me eggplant has never been on their menu, string beans (green beans) tasted like they had been boiled, and then soaked briefly in soy sauce (no flavor what so ever). Conclusion: great for college students who need meals during those late night study sessions. Horrible for anyone who wants good food. read more

The sesame chicken was pretty good, the egg roll was okay, but the crab rangoon was the worst I've ever had! My sister and I got it to share (which we do every time we order chinese) and both of us only ate one each and threw the rest out. They were soggy and had no crab in them at all (at least not in the 2 we actually ate). I will probably order from them again, since they are so close, but I will NEVER make the mistake of ordering their crab rangoon again. You've been warned! read more

We were really disappointed after reading the reviews here. Maybe this place has recently taken a turn for the worse. Orange chicken, fried rice, General Tso's, and egg rolls were all slightly worse than standard cheap Chinese fare (which we usually like). The chicken was mushy and rubbery; it was most likely frozen bulk chicken. The frying oil they use has a distinct, unappetizing taste. We didn't like anything we ordered, and we're far from elitist. read more

Best Chinese place around. Their hot and sour soup can cure any cold, I swear! I've ventured all over the menu and everything has been pretty damn good. Don't forget the teriyaki chicken appetizer skewers. Really cheap for some great tasting LARGE chicken skewers. Always timely and always piping hot! read more

King Shing is my go-to Chinese takeout place. Food is always really good. I appreciate the breadth of their menu, too. There's a vegetarian/vegan section as well as a section specially catering to people with food allergies. I'm grateful that I am not personally limited by any of these factors, but I do regularly order the steamed broccoli from the "food allergy" section just because it comes with the best garlic sauce ever. Plus I just love steamed broccoli, OK? It's always perfectly steamed, too. It's a rare and beautiful thing. read more

We got to order delivery a couple weeks ago --- the food was decent. We went to order again this week, turns out they had shrunk their delivery range so that it just barely doesn't cover us now. Guessing someone complained about having to drive the extra two minutes from the new boundary to our apartment (seriously, 2 minutes --- 2 blocks). Went there for the first time today. The customer ahead of me complained that his food was more spicy than usual. The 2 women behind the counter yelled and screamed that there are no returns. The louder they got, the louder he got, and before long there was a full blown screaming match. I was astounded by the lack of customer service. A simple apology, coupon, or exchanged item would have diffused the situation. I hate to say it, but I can not help but wonder if the fact that the customer was African American had any thing to do with the level of disrespect he encountered. They indeed provide Americanized Chinese food, just not authentic Chinese food. There is excessive sauce in every dish! I ordered "dry" fried noodles, and they gave me "wet" version soaked in sauces. I doubt I will ever be back if even I can cook better Chinese food than them. China Chef is actually more authentic in this regard. read more

Having spent quite a bit of time living in China, I can say that this is definitely not the most authentic chinese food in the area. That being said, if you're looking for great Americanized chinese food (think general Tso's chicken and the like), this is hands down the place to go. Lunch specials (11-3) are less than $5, and are enough for at least 1.5 meals. I order from here a few times a year and normally they are ok for a small Chinese place and reasonably priced. However the last to times I have ordered from here I have gotten sick after eating. Yesterday when I went in to pick up my order you could see they where cleaning in the kitchen. I didnt think anything of it found it comforting knowing they atleast clean. But the lady at the counter seemed embarrassed that people could see they where cleaning. I found this odd but blew it off. Never been sicker in my life after eating there last night idk what they where cleaning with but I think it made it into my food. I will think twice before going back anytime soon. read more

This is my fisrt review. I am motivated by the horrible experience I had with this restaurant. I am very disappointed due to the favorable reviews this restaurant has recieved by others. My experience was awful - from the time the order was taken (indifferent customer service) to the undercook generals chicken. The chicken was indeed pink, undercooked and prime for food poisoning. I will give them thumbs up for quick preparation, reasonable prices, and large portions. However, none of these things is worthy of me giving this restaurant another chance. read more
