3-3.5 stars. I did plan on logging off early so I can run and maybe do some schoolwork but I ended up working late and did not run but at least I was able to finish 3 out of 4 of my assignments last night. I did not have time to go out to have dinner. I DoorDashed. I love chow fun but the beef was rather chewy and dry. It was tasty but it was rather oily and it became difficult to enjoy after a few bites. The scallion pancakes were paper thin, had barely any scallions, and extremely greasy. I was taught not to waste food and I was hungry from not eating all day. I was surprised how I still manage to skip lunch here but instead of having Gavin and my cats to watch over, I had endless meetings and my studies I need to put my attention to. A great attempt at Chinese food. Maybe I'm a spoiled Californian.

Evergreen offers an extensive menu featuring both American-style and authentic Chinese cuisine. I use the Evergreen Restaurant app to order takeout, and it is usually ready within 25 minutes. I often stop by when I'm in Ann Arbor because it is one of the few places I've found with authentic Chinese food that has an easy takeout process. It's also conveniently located in the same shopping center as Yoon's Bakery and Way 1 Chinese Supermarket. The portion sizes are large enough to share among two people, so the price is decent for the amount of food. Don't expect much in terms of service. It is mediocre, and I try to avoid much interaction by ordering out.

We had quick service and delicious food. I was impressed at the beautiful dining room, I think they might have been doing some ceiling work? Lunch specials were still pretty pricey, but everything was absolutely delicious and I'll definitely be back.

Yum yum. I have never even heard of this place! A friend invited me to enjoy this spot with her today and I was all in. The food was amazing. I love Chinese food and am always down for Chinese. I love authentic and Americanized Chinese too so we gathered a mixed meal option. Everything was hot, fresh and so yummy. The American style dumplings were so good. All the dishes were flavorful. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. I love how they have these tablets that shows you what the food actually looks like. That's very helpful. Prices and portions are very reasonable as well. Will most definitely make the drive here again when in the area!

We had a group of 7 in a mostly empty restaurant. The service was slow and my friends food (she only ordered fried rice) came out when the rest of us were already done eating. Food was pretty good but a little overpriced. I ordered the eggplant and tofu with fried rice.

I returned on my own on 07/11/2025 and was seated immediately in a booth. I looked over the menu and chose a Lamb Skewer ($5) for an appetizer and the Cumin Lamb ($22) for my entree. The skewer was brought out quickly. It was CRUNCHY & SPICY on the outside, TENDER & JUICY on the inside. It was a DELICIOUS START. Next up was the entree with white rice. The Lamb, vegetables, cumin spices and red Chinese peppers were a WONDERFUL taste experience. I enjoyed my meal very much and I shall return to try other menu items. Bathroom was clean and odorless.

I was in the area for business and I was craving good Chinese food. of course I turned to Yelp for advice and found Evergreen. I was not disappointed and removed the craving that I had very quickly. I sat at the bar which I typically do when I am traveling by myself. There bar was a little small and I ended up being the only customer there. No worries, still a great meal. So let's talk about the food. I started off with Pork Buns and they were really good. Good flavor and consistency of the buns. After devouring them, I had my main entree. I picked the General Tous Chicken. Once again the portions were very good, the flavor was right on point and I really enjoyed my meal. Service was good. Nothing exceptional but it was solid. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Please support this business.

Sunday afternoon at 3 pm visit: tried something different. I ordered 3 appetizers from the traditional Chinese menu. The rice dumplings with lamb(beef was another option) was I wrapped and tied in a banana leaf. The string was knotted down I tried to cut with knife then waitress rushed over to help. I ended up twisting the item several times to get it unwrapped. It really created a bit of a scene, but anyway was totally a deliciously sweet and savory sticky treat despite the complication. The oriental burger was surprisingly spicy (remember that you can ask for the desired spice level here)-- which I enjoyed with what was a very different "bun". Lastly, the three large home style buns were nearly up to the usual standard for this establishment--except the one that I ate seemed to be exhibiting a bit of that hardening that can happen with some flour concoctions that have been microwaved to warm up and then allowed to sit. I cannot say that is what happened but I was a bit surprised as this restaraunt is usually perfect. So, could not award all the stars for this visit.

This is a surprisingly beautiful spot in a strip mall with excellent service. My pics do not do it justice, but it's very modern, clean and full of Chinese artwork. I ordered 2lunch specials: the beef w broccoli and veg lomein. Both were good, but not necessarily spectacular. The peas in the fried rice were chalky and the spring roll was served sans sauce. There were many locals there chatting with the servers, very happy with the food and service. I will return to try some of the dishes they are famous for.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant! So yummy! Really happy to find some authentic Chinese/taiwanese food. I came for lunch and they have good lunch options with affordable prices. However, I ordered off the main menu to get some things I have been missing since living in Taiwan. I'll be back for more. The ambiance is perfect for lunch or dinner.

    Classic menu!

The host was responsive. The food came out of the kitchen incredibly fast. It had that hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant feel. But that's about it. That's the 2 stars. The hot and sour soup got the taste balance and broth right but the ingredients were a disappointment, too much tofu, too much egg, not enough wood ear and/or black mushrooms, scandalously few shredded bamboo shoots (which also clearly came from a can). The wok hei for the mu shu pork was not good; too greasy and again, the ingredients were really inadequate (way too many onions, zero cabbage, scant protein). The hoisin sauce clearly came out of a bottle (way too sweet and flat) and here's the death blow - thick flour tortillas, not those thin Mandarin pancakes. I mean, the thinness of the pancake is the whole point - it is NOT a "Chinese burrito" (a phrase that is an insult to burritos, mind you). The last dish was ma po tofu. For me, a good ma po tofu is all about flavor balance - do you understand between straight up heat from the chili and the numbing of Sichuan peppercorns? They do not understand, this was so overwhelmingly peppercorn that it seemed pretty apparent that someone just equated "hot" with peppercorn and then added chili oil. Again, scant protein. I usually give a place a couple tries because anyone can have an off day. I won't be back. This is a kitchen quality problem, not an off day.

Not sure, but I was excited to come here and try the food. It was a thousand out of ten. We ordered so much, the server was in shock, but we reassured her we were taking most home. I also feel like I should comment on food waste. I am the leftover queen, and this amount of food supplied ten portions (meals) for us over time and was completely finished. I saw they had two locations, but I decided to try the Ypsilanti location. The people working here were very friendly and helpful. I basically ordered half of the appetizer section since there was so much delicious choices to try. I had the sticky rice shumai, roti with curry, spicy wantons, pan fried pork buns, chicken egg rolls, crispy pork lion roll, and Korean wings (not pictured since I got an additional carry-out for my kid). We also ordered Dan Dan noodles , pad Thai, and sesame chicken. The food was all so delicious. The Dan Dan noodles were the best I have had in a long time. I love that it was not too spicy, the egg was a great addition, and I do like cilantro. The sesame chicken was huge and so crispy. I liked the pad Thai, but my husband was a bit disappointed and felt it needed a little more spice or flavor. The portions were huge, which is how we got so many meals out of the food. I loved the spicy oil on the wantons. The pan fried bus were amazing, fluffy with a slight crisp. the Korean wings had a great flavor and I liked the shumai a lot. I love how chewy the roti was, the sauce could have been thicker, but I enjoyed the curry. Everything was so good, I am not sure what I liked the most. It was an adorable place with huge portions and good prices. I really hope to stop back in again, and yes, I will probably order a ton again to enjoy there as well as at home.

Now on to the food! My favorite thing we ordered was the Leshan Beef soup, so comforting, warming, and flavorful! Xiao, the owner, was kind enough to teach us how to best enjoy it which was to first take a sip of the broth, have some of the veggies, then dip the beef into the chili powder. The billionaires fried rice was unfortunately a bit under seasoned but at least the portion size was quite generous. The mapo tofu was very authentic and the numbing spice they used was top notch, although Xiao did mention that they would hopefully be moving towards using a more tender cut of tofu than the medium/hard tofu they're currently using which I think would be delightful. The snowflakes dumplings were good although I question how well the crispness of the dumpling lace will hold up during carry out considering we got to have these fresh. All in all very promising and authentic, I'm excited to see what else might make it onto the menu and how things might still improve from here, they're working out some kinks with the soft opening and they've only been open for 2 weeks!
