We ordered delivery from here a couple of weeks ago and it was ok but it didn't knock us out. We ordered a pretty good amount of stuff--pork dumplings, beef with garlic sauce, chicken fried rice, mongolian beef, and cold noodles. And IDK, maybe we should have skipped the beef dishes because they just didn't really hit great. The meat was a little floppy and the dishes themselves were slightly bland. I had high hopes for the pork dumplings based on how they looked but they were a little underwhelming too and the fillings were a little greasy. The chicken fried rice, however, was great. And reheated really well for lunch the next day. And the cold noodles, as others have said, were also good. So perhaps the menu itself is just kind of hit or miss. If I were to order again I'd definitely try something else. read more

Chinese takeout is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get. On my journey to find the right balance of quality and value, I saw myself at the same plaza as another Canton area restaurant I've been to (Babylon Kabob). Chopstick House came recommended by a fellow foodie, and he did not disappoint. For the best introduction to a potential new spot, I like to try simple and common items to get a good idea of what is what, so I went with sweet & sour chicken, broccoli beef, and fried rangoon. This was some the best Chinese takeout I've had in a long time. The batter on the chicken was super crispy but not soaked in oil, with an amazing tub of sweet and sour sauce to compliment it. The sauce itself had a nice vinegar aftertaste that balanced the sweetness perfectly so it didn't feel like I was eating a fruit juice like some places. The beef was very tender with the broccoli still retaining some crunch despite being covered in the juices of the beef. The cheese filling in the rangoon was also warm and creamy, which was made better by the crunchy bite from the wonton. It wasn't like it was the best rangoon ever, but it is in my opinion a perfect example of how it should be made from a mom and pop Chinese place. If I had to give one critique it's that the pineapple and veggies for the chicken dish were so boring and seemed like an afterthought. If they just gave me the chicken pieces with the complimentary rice it would have been an improvement. Regardless Chopstick House is my new favorite Canton area Chinese food spot. read more

I have been coming here for years. They have the best food!! I'm sad I moved an hour away but every time I am in town visiting family, I always stop here. The owner is super nice & so are the staff. The restaurant is always nice and peaceful. I crave Chopstick House 24/7. Been going here for years was never disappointed until my Mothers day order. My almond chicken was tough and the breading did not look golden brown like it has in the past. They also changed there chicken finger my son usually gets for the ones out of the sweet and sour chicken to a greasy, ,uneatable, tough hunk of fried chicken. The hot and sour soup was good, not the best I ever had, but I did enjoy it. It just seemed to be missing something. The General Tso's Chicken could have been better. I order full spice which was perfect as I like spicy food. I asked for added broccoli which were very small pieces and way overcooked. The sauce had a good flavor but some of the chicken was not good. Half of the pieces were way overcooked and very very chewy. Now I'm not exaggerating here, they were like chewing gum. I ordered an orange chicken, some crab wontons and a spring roll. I also ordered a cold noodle side. The orange chicken was disgusting. I am sorry to use that word, but nothing else would describe it well enough. The breading was super thick, the chicken was all dark cheap meat and it was so freaking dry that it was hard to cut and chew. It also had no flavor and barely any sauce. I ordered from here for the first and had it delivered to my home. I loved how everything was fresh and still hot when it all arrived. The crab rangoon and dumplings were yummy. Everything else was pretty good as well. No complaints really. Their general tso sauce on my chicken was different than what I'm used to, but my meal was still good. We ordered the tofu home style luncheon special. You can choose how spicy you want it. This dish is made with fried tofu, snow peas, red peppers, and Chinese shittake mushrooms in a brown sauce. It comes with fried rice and choice of soup (hot and sour, egg drop or wonton) and egg roll (has pork and shrimp inside) or spring roll. The other dish we picked was chicken rice noodles. Which was made with onions, green onions, bean sprouts, and chicken. Overall, there was a lot of food for a great price. Currently they are only doing carry out orders and closed on Mondays. Mixed on this place. Sweet and sour was so sour too much vinegar and not sweet. Chicken meat from that dish was good. Fried rice, egg rolls, soups wonton & egg drop, Pad Thai all was delicious. Brought Almond chicken the gravy had no flavor. Would go back for Pad Tai. They have sushi I would be willing to try as well. Best to go and see for yourself. Two months ago, one of my coworkers recommend "Chopsticks House" on Lilly Road just south of M-153 (Ford Road), as it's his favorite to dine in or enjoy carryout on the way home. Moreover, he told me that this restaurant was opened by a few former employees from the Sze Chuan Restaurant just down the road, so this perked my interest as the food there has always been very delicious. So I decided to visit this place a few times and try out a few of the entrées. The first time I visited this restaurant, the host warned me about the step as you walk into the dining area, which can be very tricky to navigate. I placed my order and the food was delivered very fast, unlike some other dining establishments were the can take forever to show up your table; Chopsticks House prides itself on fast delivery to the table. Likewise, the same can be said for their take out service. On my first visit, I decided to try "Three Delicacies," which has been a favorite of mine for many years. This came with beef, chicken, and shrimp. This place totally nailed it perfectly. The second time I dropped by for dinner, I decided to order "Mu-Shu Chicken," which a few other nearby Chinese restaurants no longer offer Mu-Shu, but thankfully, Chopsticks House still does offer it in many different varieties. This was some of the best Mu-Shu Chicken I have enjoyed in a few years. I am looking forward to trying the pork and shrimp versions. On my most recent visit I decided to order "Shrimp With Vegetables." They use jumbo shrimp, and very fresh vegetables that are firm, but not mushy. Likewise, the Egg Drop Soup I ordered was outstanding. So if you're looking for some very good Americanized Chinese Food that you grew up with in suburbia, Chopsticks House is the place to visit. They are a classic "Mom-and-pop" type of establishment, and the best part is the waitresses speak very good English. They will have the chef prepare your food the way you like it. However, you do have to make sure that you clearly communicate to the staff if you're allergic to certain ingredients like MSG, mushrooms, or soy, and they will follow your instructions accordingly. read more

They have weekday lunch special, very economical and perfect size portions. comes with soup, spring role, rice and gravy. very good. The staff is generally friendly and nice, except that one person LOL, if she is not serving you, you are lucky.. but most of the time I do take outs. so no problem. Food is delicious here if you order right. My problem is the rudeness of the owners. For the record I have complained about this both in person and via email and they have not in any way apologized or sympathized. In person I got a lame explanation, attitude and a bit shamed for wanting and expecting to eat during their scheduled hours, via email I received no response after plenty of time now. My husband and I have made this our tradition after that first Christmas. On Christmas day it is always just us so we come here, eat Chinese then skip across the freeway to watch a movie at Emagine. We have come as late as seven pm and never a problem. We eat, getting some stuff to go for later and are usually happy as clams. This year we showed up at 5:30ish. I had called ahead (as I always do on Christmas) earlier that day to confirm their hours. I specifically asked what time will you be seating until. I was assured 7pm. We had to drop my parents at the airport so we were running late but we did get there an hour and a half before the seating cutoff they informed me of at 1pm. The problem is they had just cut off seating. We could get carry out but it was going to be about an hour (first told 45 minutes, then 50, then an hour) it turned into over an hour in reality, about an hour and 15. As we had planned it all out we bought movie tickets that were starting 2 hours and 15 minutes after 5:30, when we were supposed to be sat. That was the last showtime we could make and my husband still get sleep enough to work the next day. Well we lost out on the movie. Sad because they had us over a barrel, we had nowhere else planned to dine and had no idea what if anything would be open. By the hour and fifteen mark, then 20 minutes we trucked the food home, ate and returned after twenty minutes our movie would be half over. Oh yeah and I am diabetic and had taken my meds so I got charged wayyyyyy to much for a can of pop to up my blood sugar so I did not pass out. Thanks, so sympathetic. Basically this has totally soured us on the place. No sorry, no nothing just a blank stare and terse *owner decision*. Even though obviously others plan the same and about forty to fifty people showed up expecting to eat while we waited. Shame on them for ruining people's nights when they are between a rock and a hard place dining wise. I have no problem with restaurants closing for Christmas but it is rude to tell people a few hours before you will seat until 7 and then change your mind before 5:30 and not even be a hint apologetic. Yeah I loved the attitude and eyerolls too like they were doing us a MAJOR favor but putting up with us and giving us a to go. The almond chicken had the yellow gravy which we prefer. We also had walnut shrimp and it was excellent- crispy walnuts, great sauce and really big cooked perfectly shrimp. They have scallion pancakes which I love but not many places have. They were a little greasy but still great. The food had good portions and carry out was fast. Years ago we followed the Sze Chuan Restaurant's chef when he left and opened his own place--Chopstick House! They cater to your taste for spice, and the ordering format on their website handles that well. Of course, as with any place, we prefer certain dishes. I like my food spicy enough to feel risky, while my wife can't handle any spice at all. It's a crucial thing to us, and there's never a worry about that at Chopstick House. Granted, we almost always get take out or delivery, but we consider it a special treat and usually go a bit crazy when we order. Their food is delivered hot and is always delicious. I ordered the vegetable Lo Mein and Chicken with garlic and ginger sauce (medium spice). Both were delicious, and the portion sizes were spot on. The chicken dish came with white rice. The carry-out order was ready quickly, and the service was friendly. I would return here again and try other dishes, but I would definitely order either of those two dishes again, too! I don't think they put chopsticks in the carry-out bag automatically, so make sure you ask for some before walking out the door if you don't already have some at home. Delicious, quick take out food (they do have a sit down area but I did take out). I was SO HUNGRY when I drove past Chopstick House and wheeled into the parking lot (it's in a strip mall common in the Canton area). They have an extensive menu and while I was perusing it, the gentleman at the counter offered to answer questions I may have (there were a few dishes I was not familiar with and did not have any descriptions). I decided on the Kung Pao tofu, spicy, and settled in to wait. It took about 10 minutes and I was in my way to the hotel. Let's talk rice. Sticky rice. Perfect, sticky rice. And the tofu? Wonderful! My ONLY complaint is that it was a bit oily in the container. The tofu was great! Crispy exterior, and a delicious bite. The dish had great flavor and heat. Even better reheated in the morning. Large serving, easily enough for two people and very reasonably priced. Stop by and experience excellent customer service, and tasty food! read more

OH MY....all I can say for this "MOM & POP" restaurant is "MMMM MMMM great"!! We go into the restaurant and the ambiance is quite quiet. We are greeted with a smile each and every time we visit. They never forget to tell us to "watch the step" either! There is a small step as you enter the restaurant and I have a disability therefore they always make sure to tell me to "watch my step". I love that they care enough to always tell me without fail! I've noticed that they also tell everyone to "watch their step" too, so that's a relief! Now, for the staff...they are A++ in my book! Always very friendly and they remember what we've ordered in the past ! They impress me by the way they remember how I like everything and what I like and don't like! It's not like any other Chinese Restaurant that I've ever been to. It's not your big commercial Chinese chain and its' not a little "take out" dive either. It's beautiful inside as far as the decor goes! They have a small aquarium when you first walk inside and it's lit dimly and just a great little Chinese "MOM and POP" place if you ask me! The food is "to die for"~ It is sooo great! If you go before 2pm on weekdays you can even pick up your dinner and re-heat it at home later while receiving: soup, spring roll or crab rangoon and your main entree with veg. fried rice if you so choose instead of the white "sticky" rice. The price is waaay cheap if you do it this way especially. On the other hand, if you want a moderately priced wonderful ambiance and great food restaurant to go out on a "date" with your significant other or your hubby /wife...you would definitely want to give this little place with a big taste, a chance! I was impressed! I'd read that this was opened by some former employees of Szechuan (our fav Chinese restaurant), so we checked it out for lunch. I had the Shrimp with Spicy Szechuan sauce for $6.75. Mine came with wonton soup, crab rangoons and fried rice. I love wonton soup, but I usually hate the wontons - it's the mystery meat. This whole soup was delicious, including small, tasty wontons. One of the best wonton soups I've had. Rangoons were packed with cheese and onions, and the dipping sauce was slightly different than Szechuan's. My whole meal was just slightly better than Szechuan (and I hate saying it). Ken had the General Tsou's chicken. Egg drop soup was thin and tasty. He also loved the rangoons. His chicken... hmm... it was OK. And that, to me, is being nice. The sauce was nothing like Szechuan's, which is our fav General sauce. It almost tasted like they forgot to add a critical ingredient. He'd try it again though. Like Jenny J, I noticed they had veggie options for many popular dishes like General's. I asked if they subbed tofu for the meat and the hostess said 'no, soy'. My Chinese wife is always looking for authentic cuisine instead of the numerous Americanized restaurants that litter our area. Of course, we're both hesitant to spend money on new places that we may not fully enjoy. Well, we came to the Chopstick House based on Yelp's favorable reviews. I looked up their menu online to see that I could at least get spicy chicken, which is my favorite faux Chinese item. I don't care for traditional Chinese food, but that's what she wanted. While there, she spent quite some time studying the menu for something she wanted. She said the menu was filled with a lot of non-Chinese items. She even spoke to a manager, but he said, "We don't serve traditional Chinese items. We serve more of the, um, you know... more popular American choices." My wife ordered something she would like anyway. I ordered the spicy chicken with peanuts and peppers, and I got it with a hot spice level. It was a large portion. However, it was not very spicy at all and only had maybe four dried peppers in it. It was still good but definitely not as spicy as the waitress indicated it would be. Temperature-wise, it was also somewhat warm. She ordered the "triple hot pot," which is a soup filled with chicken, beef, shrimp, and several vegetables and mushrooms. She said it was very good but commented on the low level of meat in it. Because of the large number of other places we have yet to try, there's a chance we simply might not come back here. They have very good containers, and nothing spills out (this to me is important, especially in a time of take out only). I get the full heat, and when they do the full heat, it's amazing. I would go here, as opposed to going somewhere that's a mile away from me. The staff here were lovely but apparently we ordered the wrong items from the menu. The cashew chicken is tiny pieces of mostly breading, with a sticky gravy and obviously canned peas and carrots. I hate very little and had indigestion the rest of the evening. My sister ordered lemon chicken which was super dry and didn't seem to contain actual lemon. She also left 90% of her meal behind.
