Almond Chicken with Fried Rice
Megan B.

Some of the best almond chicken I've ever had. I drove a half hour just to try it and it didn't disappoint. Got it with fried rice which I loved too. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Crunchy veggies with tofu was a hit for me.

Whenever I'm in this area, there seems to be a gravitational pull to Buddy's Pizza and consequently, I never noticed this restaurant. During the pandemic, this place converted to an all-take-out operation, its vestibule blocked and a tiny pass-through created for food/money exchange. Based on reviews, I placed an order for General Tso's chicken, almond chicken, and tofu and vegetables. The food was completed by the time I arrived (20 mins) and it was still hot when I returned home. I was disappointed by the General Tso's chicken; the chicken pieces were overcooked so tougher than I would have liked. I did like the spicier flavors, although nothing compares to my dad's version. In contrast, the almond chicken pieces were crispy and tender. The almond-flavored sauce was bland though so I ate it without (which is fine because this means fewer calories and carbs). I wished I had ordered the sweet and sour, though. The tofu with vegetables was terrific; I loved the variety of crunchy vegetables. The serving sizes were huge so there will be lots of leftovers this week - bonus! Service was as can be expected with a pass-through.

Ordered 2 shrimp spring rolls ,after a 5 minute wait recieved this tasty delicious treat the outer crust on these spring rolls was perfectly done and the filling had a great flavor with juicy shrimp and plenty of them , the cabbage filling inside was a delight to bite into and made me wish I bought 4 instead of 2 next time I'm out that way it'll be a special trip here to get another tasty snack ......highly recommend

The third oil squeeze on the egg roll. The filling was really good but is cabbage instead of bean sprouts.

I want to give this 5 stars because the food was so fresh and had really good flavor. We had Szechuan chicken, vegetable delight, and sweet and sour chicken. The vegetable fried rice was really good. It's just that the amount of oil soaked in the chicken and egg roll was way too much. I used about 6 paper towels to squeeze as much out as I could. Maybe the fryer wasn't hot enough? We will order from here again and see how it goes with the oil next time!

I was a bit disappointed to be honest. The interior was clean. The food didn't take long to prepare. (I had ordered through Yelp and went in for a pick up.) When it was time to finally eat, the food was bland. I ordered the wonton soup and almond chicken. The wonton soup broth was fine. It didn't really taste like much of anything? The almond chicken? Tasted like generic breaded chicken with a mediocre almond sauce. Just not my jam. I might give this place a second chance and try something different, but my first impression was not promising.

Food was not good at all, burnt shrimp and rice was bland. It was literally rice and soy sauce, fried.

Over spiced. Pad Thai was dry. Couldn't eat it. Owner would do nothing about it. First and last time I will order from there.

Best Chinese in the area so far. A little greasy and I wish there were a little more veggies in the fried rice.

Chinese panda express?

Hi, do they use white meat for the general tso?

Yes! Just had it tonight, comes with white meat.

Hi. Does your general tso tofu or vegetable fried rice contain any animal products such as meat or eggs or milk? I'm wondering if the fried tofu contains egg or milk in the batter.

Hi, we do not put any meat, egg or milk in our vegetable only dish and there is no egg or milk in the batter of brief tofu. Please feel free to reply this post if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Tonight we decided to go full-on vegetarian (I'd been eating so much meat, carbs and cheese for the past few days). So we ordered: - Szechuan Vegetarian Chicken: not exactly "Szechuan" spicy but it sure was delicious. There were so many different kinds of veggies that went into this dish - different textures, different flavors - and then the imitation chicken meat which was so good. It was probably made out of soy, but honestly the texture was spot on and definitely chicken-like. I really liked this dish. - Vegetables Delight: absolutely delightful assortment of veggies (broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, zucchini, baby corn and so much more), stir fried in delicious white sauce. It was a real delight. I loved it. - Vegetarian Lo Mein: super tasty. The sauce they used was super bomb, it was super savory I didn't even notice there was no meat here. It was insane. The noodles to me were just a tad overcooked, but it didn't impact the dish much. - Vegetarian Fried Rice: just like the Lo Mein, it was equally tasty. I really liked it but the rice was a bit over cooked as well. But it didn't negatively impact the dish much. - Vegetarian Egg Foo Young: think of this like Chinese style omelette served with some savory sauce and eaten with rice. Obviously we opted for the vegetarian kind even though they offered meat options. The egg foo young was delicious, hearty and filling. The sauce was savory, slightly sweet with a hint of tang. It was great. Overall I was truly impressed with their cooking. I'm curious to see how their non vegetarian dishes taste like, maybe I'll try them next time. Oh and portion was ginormous, you guys. Total cost was about $55 after tax. Totally worth it.

And their noodles with tomato egg tasted very much like tomato beef chow mein which we have on the West Coast. It was so good!! I almost wanted to drink it. Good shrimp flavor. The Peking chicken was fire too. The Mongolian beef was good. The shrimp curry was meh. It had a lot of curry sauce for sure, but it lacked brightness! I think it needed some acid... something green? Or tomato or something? Not sure. The spring rolls were good, a little oily and needed plum sauce. The crab ragoon were very good- the fried shells themselves were quite tasty, with cheesy creamy crab dip inside. Clearly fried fresh and came out hot. The ambiance is cozy and clean. Lots of dark wood and Chinese decor. The interior is a little dated, but it's nice. The bathrooms were clean. The main reason this spot didn't get 5 stars was because the carts they use to deliver the food are crazy loud!! It's like a train moving past every time they deliver food to a table.
