Normally really good but we opened our bag and found a hair on the top of our take out...

Old School Chinese Supper Club with delicious options. Love the charming decor with pattern on pattern and glass on glass. Love the lobby bar but it doesn't look like it's used anymore. Fast and friendly service Dinner was Home Style Fried Tofu; full of spice and heavy on the veggies served with triangles of deep fried tofu. It's a generous serving. Veggie spring roll was nice and the hot tea was on point. Adding to my list.

Seafood pan-fried noodles is always a favorite. It is served with large shrimp, scallops, and crab morsels, along with fresh vegetables.

I had an intense craving for sweet and sour pork, tender pork in a light batter, fried to a golden brown, with bright red sauce. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Luckily, the restaurant I selected offered online ordering and after a few taps, my order was in. In addition to the pork, I also ordered shrimp toast, seafood with noodles, and orange beef. Sze Chuan is located on Ford Rd, along a busy stretch of road between 275 and Sheldon (a bit past). Along the way, I saw numerous places I wanted to try, including Maverick's, Sumo's, and Samosa Factory. Unfortunately, the sweet and sour pork was average. Some pieces were overcooked but I loved the fluorescent-bright red sauce. However, the shrimp toast was substantial and well-seasoned. The orange beef was tender and flavorful. And let me spend a moment paying homage to the seafood pan-fried noodle. At first, I was a bit puzzled by the container of "soup" and the dried noodles. Ah, a moment later, I got it. By combining the seafood "soup" with the noodles, the noodles soften to al dente. The shrimp and scallops were large and scrumptious. The peapods were fresh and complemented the seafood. Get this if you love seafood. I'm glad I tried this spot and will likely be back for some other items on the menu, including moo shu pork, duck, and scallops in black bean sauce.

The service was good. The food was pretty good. It met my expectations but did not exceed them. Came out a bit colder than I'd like, but it tasted good. They have a nice variety of options. Note: They do not accept Discover credit cards.

Most definitely marvelous find, so uniquely delicious . Been a long time since I found the Cream Chicken Corn Soup made with Egg Drop OMG. Only sold by the quart at $8 a mega Deal you must try. The Pupu Platter they name Treasure Island outstanding loaded in Wooden Spinning Lazy Susan. Loaded with Balamaki, Spring Rolls, Coconut Shrimp, Crab Rangoon, Chicken Wings , perfect for sharing. She had ABC traditional spot on wonderful . My third place I found Cold Chinese Noodles in Peanut Butter Sauce WOWED , it's my addiction that I seek out. I am super impressed with Szechuan restaurant. I've been trying to find a Chinese restaurant in the area for two years that I really like and I finally did. It's kind of tucked off the road a little bit so you don't really notice it like you might other places and from the outside it just doesn't look that great. Very plain and basic. But that all changes once you walk inside. The restaurant is super clean, which I was very impressed by. It's kind of old school decor, but everything is really tasteful and it's not over crowded with decorations. A real example of less is more. It feels like a much nicer place once you're inside. The wait staff was wonderful. Very attentive without being overbearing. My water glass never got more than halfway empty. They were very friendly and service was quick. The food was really good. I was concerned that it might be a bit pricey, because I looked at the menu online before I went in, but the prices on the menu inside are lower than what I found online, and I felt fairly priced. The hot sour soup was very good. Hunan chicken was very good also. If I have a criticism it would be this, and this really isn't a complaint. The menu is huge. There's got to be a couple hundred items on it. And surprisingly, they don't have egg rolls, which is one of my favorites. The spring rolls are good, but I prefer an egg roll. They also didn't have Szechuan chicken on the lunch menu, which I was surprised by given the name of the restaurant. Lol. Obviously these are petty criticisms. This place is good. Very good and I definitely recommend it.

The food was definitely 5 stars and I would absolutely return. The ambiance is updated modern with a Chinese influence. The only thing keeping my review from 5 stars is the fact the waitress disappeared for an extremely long time and left us just sitting and waiting for her to return so we could cash out and get some boxes. I'm not sure what happens because the other waitress staff were visible often,

Pork Fried Rice (with extra bean sprouts). Excellent!

They hand make their dumplings as well as many of their items and it shows. The noodles are really good and not your prepackaged variety. In fact the noodles are excellent! And their noodles with tomato egg tasted very much like tomato beef chow mein which we have on the West Coast. It was so good!! Not sure, but I was excited to come here and try the food. It was a thousand out of ten. We ordered so much, the server was in shock, but we reassured her we were taking most home. I also feel like I should comment on food waste. I am the leftover queen, and this amount of food supplied ten portions (meals) for us over time and was completely finished. I saw they had two locations, but I decided to try the Ypsilanti location. The people working here were very friendly and helpful. I basically ordered half of the appetizer section since there was so much delicious choices to try. I had the sticky rice shumai, roti with curry, spicy wantons, pan fried pork buns, chicken egg rolls, crispy pork lion roll, and Korean wings (not pictured since I got an additional carry-out for my kid). We also ordered Dan Dan noodles , pad Thai, and sesame chicken. The food was all so delicious. The Dan Dan noodles were the best I have had in a long time. I love that it was not too spicy, the egg was a great addition, and I do like cilantro. The sesame chicken was huge and so crispy. I liked the pad Thai, but my husband was a bit disappointed and felt it needed a little more spice or flavor. The portions were huge, which is how we got so many meals out of the food. I loved the spicy oil on the wantons. The pan fried bus were amazing, fluffy with a slight crisp. the Korean wings had a great flavor and I liked the shumai a lot. I love how chewy the roti was, the sauce could have been thicker, but I enjoyed the curry. Everything was so good, I am not sure what I liked the most. It was an adorable place with huge portions and good prices. I really hope to stop back in again, and yes, I will probably order a ton again to enjoy there as well as at home.
