This was our first time trying this place, and it was pretty darn good. I got the sweet and sour chicken, nice and crispy, sauce was on point, there were a few pieces that were dry and chewy, but for the most part it was good. Fried rice was amazing! Fiancé got the beef and pea pods, and she absolutely loved it!! We also got the chicken egg rolls, they were good, and the teriyaki beef skewers, also really good. We definitely want to try more of their offerings. Prices were reasonable, serving sizes were huge! Staff were also very polite and friendly! read more

Located on South Wayne Road in the community of Westland, is a Chinese restaurant that serves consistently delicious food and is a hidden gem. I decided to drop by and do a takeout order for myself and two coworkers. They recommended this place, so I had to give it a try, and I am happy that I did. The service is very fast at the Lucky Kitchen, I showed up several minutes early, and the order of shrimp fried rice was ready and waiting for me. The owners here are very friendly, and will prepare any order to your liking. Moreover, all of the ingredients and vegetables are always fresh, and you can taste the difference. With that being said, the portions are very generous. Lucky Kitchen is a non-pretentious restaurant, and they are really geared towards the take-out crowd. Service was decent, only waited an additional 10 minutes after ordered was placed. Food tasted great, the fried rice had a lot of soy sauce, so if you like salty, this would be your option. ****THEY ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS**** I used to come here about 9 years ago and it was my favorite Chinese place, then I moved away. Moved back to the area and glad this isn't too far. You can taste the freshness of the food. Egg rolls are great. You can tell a lot about a place by the egg rolls and these are hand rolled fresh everyday (I've seen them doing it). My normal carryout is chicken lo mein and egg drop soup. The lunch combos can feed 2 handsomely. They are also cost effective for the portions and freshness you get. The food is great. The service is fun and the counterman and counterwoman are engaged. The cook is a genius. I enjoyed the Orange Beef the last time I visited. I go there whenever I can. Not sure how I haven't written about this place yet considering how much we order from here. To put it plainly, it's the best Chinese place around here. Generous portions, great prices, extremely nice owners. There's about 3 other Chinese restaurants within a mile of our house, and we have tried them all, but they do tend to fall flat in terms of taste, price and quality. I have been a customer for many years. My past few visits have been deplorable. I ordered dinner and extra eggrolls that were reckoned and very greasy. This past time was two days ago. I ordered Chicken with broccoli. The chicken tastes old. Today I decided to finish it. When I opened the container, there were mold and things I can't describe. My assumption is that the food was stored during the epidemic is being used. This theory would explain why the food deteriorated so rapidly. read more

We went in for dinner because it is a Chinese restaurant that delivers to my home and figured we'd try the food and pick up a carryout/delivery menu. Glad we did because the food is AWFUL. I mean seriously, they ruined almond chicken. It had no taste! The portions were very generous, but that isn't worth anything when the food is lousy. My husband got sesame chicken and some was overcooked and some was undercooked. The crab rangoons were made with FAKE crab. We ate some because we were hungry, took home the rest (which amounted to more than 3/4 of each meal) and just threw it out. It was terrible. read more

We have been going here for a few years, and I have to say it is the best Chinese food around. My favorite is the cashew chicken. Full of cashews and fresh veggies it's amazing. I love the convenience of Chinese delivery on a Friday night. However, the food I received was bland and not like Chinese food. the chicken and rice soup is not soup, It's white rice with chicken no liquid at all.The "lobster fried rice" is shrimp fried rice and I double checked to make sure I ordered correctly and I had so I guess that's how it comes. My beef and snow peas was so bland and the meat so tough I was suprised as I've had this dish many times just not at this restaurant. my husband's moo goo chicken just went in the trash. I reccomend this restaurant not concentrate on the larger rice filled portions but more quality in the product going out the door. we will not eat here again. read more

I have been coming to Lucky Kitchen ever since I moved to Westland ( almost 2years ago ) and I just love the food here ... But I have a problem with them today! I ordered Kung pao chicken with Special Hot and Sour soup which is supposed to contain pork an tofu as the only protein, but today it had shrimp in it. I am highly allergic to shrimp ( an as I said this is not listed on the menu as being in the soup ) I immediately took some benadryl and called the restaurant to let them know. I was hoping to get either get my money back or at least a different soup...and instead I got told that the shrimp is always in the soup its just not on the menu...so needless to say nothing was done about this. I like this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone wanting cheap yummy chinese that delivers BUT if u have shrimp allergies DO NOT ORDER THE SPECIAL HOT AN SOUR SOUP!!! read more

I usually go with sweet and sour chicken or sesame chicken and both are really good! Honestly, though, all of their food is great, the place is very clean, the portions are pretty big, and the staff is super friendly!
