If I could leave 0 stars I would. My dad purchased a 2014 Honda Civic for me as a gift back in October 2017. The car was marketed as a car with less than 20,000 miles and we got 5 years of free oil changes. After a few months I went to get my first free oil change and the service mechanic at the dealership told me that my screw was very rusted and in order to change my oil they had to "cut around a screw". Being only 18 at the time and a new car owner I didn't understand. I was, however, concerned because I know you don't cut around screws... The guy then asked me whether or not I got my car from this Honda of Katy. I told him "yes just a few months ago." He then got defensive and said it was no concern but I vividly remember him making a face of concern initially. I told my dad, Got my oil change, and left. My first mistake! Just a few months later, my car started making this extremely loud shrieking noise. I took it to a trusted mechanic and I was then told that the entire bottom part of my car was eroded, most likely water damaged, and needs to be replaced. Now that I know what I know now and have been learning more about vehicle repairs I now know in order to replace my oil. You have to take off the tire. There you can visibly see how corroded and rusted my brakes, brake pads, bolts, screws, rotors, and calibers are. At every oil change Honda preforms they gives you a full breakdown on all the wear and tear of your vehicle. I was never advised on the true conditions of my vehicle until I went to a mechanic outside of Honda. On top of all of this, when I went to Honda's service and repairs department and advised them on the recently found conditions of my car. They asked if I could leave me vehicle with them to run tests. These test took about a week and when my father and I came to speak with a manger on why a fairly new vehicle I just purchased has already cost me hundreds of dollars in repairs, they preceded to direct us to the sales department and say there was nothing else they could do. Additionally, the team member who last took out my car never put the keys back and for about 10 minutes the technician walked around looking and asking other employees if they had my keys because he couldn't find them. Now, almost 3 years later and I was still dealing with repairs that indicate the vehicle Honda of Katy sold me was in fact water damaged. The managers we spoke with have said that they are not responsible because they buy their cars from car wholesales, they checked the car facts and they came back clean. The lack of concern and accountability this dealership has taken proves that no one should be purchasing vehicles from here. read more

Just picked up my car for routine maintenance and asked them to also look into two main concerns I had regarding my AC and door locks. They provided a quote for repairs and we accepted all of them except brake pad replacements since I did not notice any urgent repairs when driving. After a week in the shop, we finally pick it up and paid $1,400 in repairs and as soon as we started driving it started making a loud grinding noise THAT ITS NEVER MADE BEFORE. Literally stopped driving on the road bc it sounded like something was dragging!! We call them to ask what happened and they said well we said you needed to replace your brake pads but you declined it. There is no way I would have ever driven my car around with that screeching noise. If my brakes were that bad, don't you think it would have been my FIRST concern when taking in my car?!!! Now, they've cornered us into taking it back for the brake replacements and want to charge close to $1K when it was NEVER EVEN AN ISSUE. It's almost as if they sabotaged the brakes so that we had to take it back. I ended up going to another auto shop and they're only charging us about $300 for the brake repairs we were quoted. Poor everything customer service, the quality of Honda cars, and other maintenance especially oil changes and tire rotation. Today and the other days which was about 4-5 years ago, the lifetime oils change policy has been playful with customers. I bought 2016 C-RV. I was absolutely and clearly told that I would have had a FREE lifetime oil change SERVICE. After about two year, I was told that I had to pay for the service. And I ask WHY? They said the company didn't have this cover any more. So WHAT? Or they just tried to get us to buy their car and then let us go. Related to the above cheating business, I just got my car oil changed today January 24th 2024, and then my car was found a leak from a cooler's pipe and told me that it will costs me $195.00 but the oil change and tire rotation cost will be covered by Honda. In contrast, when we went to pay, it was $285.23, why? They said for the repair, the oil change and tire rotation. Wow, why? They asked me if I have a card saying a free lifetime oil change. I said I didn't have but your employee said it will be covered by Honda. And I told you that I got it free for just two years after i bought my 2016 C-RV since i was told that I will receive this free for lifetime but after two years I had to pay from my pocket and now today he told me Honda will cover the cost but still I get charged for that. OMG. I told my husband and other family and friends told me stop buying Honda because of the poor customer service, poor quality of the Car and poor management. Yes. If I could give this review zero stars I would, because this was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. We purchased a used car from this dealership on Saturday, they told us it would be ready by Monday and we can pick it up because they had to complete the state inspection and do their entire inspection process. I called them Monday when I didn't hear from him asking if the car will be ready and they told me that the mechanic will not be back until Wednesday. When I called Wednesday inquiring about the car they told me there is now a fuel pump recall on the car and they cannot release the car to me. And better yet it will likely take 4-6 weeks before I could take possession of the car. After two days of more run around by several folks at the dealership we went in to get a refund for the car. When we spoke to the manager, he told us there was nothing they could do and they would give us a refund. So we waited about an hour and a half without anything happening and then one of the other managers came by and tried to sell us on a brand new car with a lease to buy option. When we told him we did not want to lease he insulted us by trying to tell us it's not really a lease to buy. It's some Honda program they have that allows people to lower their payments. Then insulted us by telling us that "he is educating us in the lease process". Skipping ahead. We finally got rid of this guy and told him no we are not interested in leasing and want our refund. So they brought back a receipt for the refund on our credit card and then told us they would print up a check for the remainder of our down payment. We waited about another hour and they told us we had to come back another day to get the check. We went back today and when we got into the dealership, they said yes the check is ready but we need the general manager to sign it. It took them two hours to find this person. I don't know what they were trying to hide with this car or what kind of stunts they were trying to pull, but I highly advise anybody considering buying a car from these people to go elsewhere. Made a 9:00 a.m. appointment for service two days ago to have recall corrected on idle stop because my 2019 Passport stalled out in an intersection. Called at 8:00 a.m. today and asked how long it would take. I was told 2 hours. Walked in at 9:00 a.m. to service desk. The gentleman at the desk went out to my car to check VIN. Came back in and looked at his computer screen and said let me go check service. We are behind (at 9:00 a.m.??). We will try to have this done today. I told him I had a 9:00 and he told me that was just with service advisor not to have the work done. WHAAATTTT?? I repeated that I needed my car today and was told 2 hours. He said well most likely we can get it done today. I told him I will go to the Spring Branch dealership because they honor appointments. Why the heck does this place take appointments if they cannot deliver? I have never had issues making appointments there before. I have never liked Katy Honda because their prices on vehicles are inflated over other dealerships. Service was the redeeming quality but now they don't even have that in my books. ARGH read more

I pulled up to the service line and a Honda representative told me that I would have to wait 3 hours to get serviced! I showed him proof that I had a reservation time, but he mentioned they "don't do reservation". Beware of costs or fees that are significantly higher than other places nearby. I went for an oil change and a tire rotation. After the 5 point inspection, I was offered additional services offered at 30k miles. I opted to get the $150ish dollar break fluid replacement. A short time later the technician returned to inform me they were only able to remove 3/4 of my tires due to a damaged wheel lock from wherever I had my tires changed last. I was told there was a $90 fee to break this lock and that the manager was waving any charge for labor on this service. I consented to do it since I was traveling the following day. Immediately after consenting I called Discount Tire to gather more information and to see if there was any way to help me with the $90 fee. Manager wasn't able to speak to me until the following morning. Well, he was not able to help me with the $90 I paid because Honda already did the service. He did tell me however that they charge at most, $5/wheel lock broken. FIVE DOLLARS. He also let me know that I get lifetime tire rotations with them FOR FREE. I paid $30 at Honda. Greg, the manager at discount tire, was friendly, informative and has a genuine desire to help. I will not be returning to have my car serviced at Honda again. This is the second issue. The first was a couple years ago when during an oil change, they didn't put a new filter and within a short amount of time I started hearing a knocking sound in my engine and my car eventually shut itself off. My car was taken to Honda and Honda had to replace my engine due to this. They paid for that luckily, but I didn't have my car for a few weeks. The service feels impersonal and greedy. I never feel like they are looking out for me or doing me a favor making sure that I'm safe. Why pay high prices to only have that feeling after? Not to mention the failed oil change. Yep. I am done with them. $90+$30 for the tire rotation and wheel lock at Honda. Would have cost me FIVE DOLLARS at Discount Tire. With the inflation and economy in general, having enough money just to pay the bills is stressful. Honda has lost my trust and my respect. read more

This is a CONTRACTUAL obligation - this company is a fraud and will not honor their commitments despite it being spelled out in your contract. The reviews all went from 5 stars to 1 star ever since "new management" has taken over a month ago. Our family has purchased 3 cars from this location all 3 has the lifetime oil in our purchase contract. We're taking our business elsewhere (as should you) and reporting them to the BBB. Management replies on here to "contact them" but they don't give two shits about their customers and their replies are for show. I've had only one bad incident and it was during the height of Covid, I wanted my navigation system updated because I was driving to Boston, MA for work during this Pandemic. The service rep told her she had no transmission cap on her vehicle and needed to purchase a cap and refill the fluid. This is a $350 service. In addition to the oil change. She agreed to have to work done bc they told her she could burn her engine out. I asked her to ask the service tech to see pictures or take her to the car so that she could see what damage could have already taken place under the hood. We had no fluid leaks or drops in the driveway, neither any spraying of fluid under the hood or anywhere on the outside as the rep stated would have a happened. No check engine lights on display. I spoke with Elizabeth Maria and asked her to show my daughter where it may have been spewing out under the hood. She stated "oh they have probably cleaned it up already" She sent me a video of just the cap off of the transmission no spewing or spraying of fluid anywhere to be found. I only bring my daughter car to Honda dealerships (only 2. Honda katy and Honda off 290 @ hey 6) for all maintenance. She tried to imply that it must have happened somewhere else or we took off the cap. I advised her we hadn't been under the hood at all. I drive the vehicle no funny noises, no check engine or maintenance lights or smells. All they did was remove the cap and told her it was missing. They charged her for a service that she did not need. Please beware of these scams to get customers to pay for additional services they do not need. Drove all the way from Conroe to Katy for this goddamn waste of time. Only nice thing I got to say was the female manager explained what transpired and gave me a free car wash before I went elsewhere to have my o/c done for less than the sixty dollars or more for what the satellite service shop was charging. Now I don't have to drive there once a year to have the o/c done. I'll do it myself. Screw the new owners for doing this to customers who paid for warranty work and lifetime oil changes. I don't normally write reviews but I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone that could help me at Honda Cars of Katy. I bought a brand new Honda Accord in 2018. I purchased the maintenance package with my deal. However, even though I signed a contract the dealership is refusing to honor it because they are under new ownership. I wasn't notified until I had shown up for my oil change appointment. I am very disappointed at the lack of communication and at the lack effort to resolve this issue with loyal customers. I was offered a discount to pay "$55 instead of $85" for my oil change. I'm sure we can all agree that this isn't much of a discount for an oil change, especially one you've already prepaid for with the purchase of your car. I purchased my 2022 Honda Pilot at Gillman Honda on 9/25/21. However, I work a block away from Honda Cars of Katy. About a month after purchasing the radio and "infotainment" center started shorting out on me. I took it to the service department in Katy and they told me the connections were lose, reconnected them, and returned my car to me. Ten days later it started doing it again. This time they kept my car a week, replaced the wiring, and returned it to me. On Jan 22, 2022, it began shorting out on me again. I've called several times and still do not have any answers to why or when it will be fixed. The service dept manager did return my call (2 days later) saying he would have to contact corporate before they could do anything and that he did not have any loaner cars at the moment. He would keep me posted and let me know when I could drop it off. I did not hear anything from him after that, called again on Feb 8 and left another message for both him and the General Manager of the dealership (Patrick). I still have not received a return phone call or resolution on fixing my infotainment center on a BRAND NEW Pilot I've had only 4 months. UPDATE: 2/10/22 Drove over to the dealership on my lunch hour to speak with Patrick in person. Got the run around...again. Was told Patrick was unavailable and would be on a conference call for a couple hours??? At lunchtime? He's not going to eat today? As I'm leaving, an employee tells me under his breath that "you know he was just avoiding you right?" I asked who, he said Patrick. What does it say that your own employee says something like this?
