I brought two of my vehicles in for a wash on 07/14. Beforehand, I checked the website to review pricing and select the full-service package I wanted. However, when I arrived, I was informed that the full-service option is no longer offered -- the lowest available package now starts at "Package 2," which is nearly double the price I had planned to pay. I proceeded with Package 2 for both vehicles, plus a $5 SUV surcharge for one of them. Unfortunately, the quality of service did not reflect the higher price. The vacuuming was minimal -- the floor mats were done quickly, but the leather seats weren't vacuumed, nor was any effort made to remove debris from the seats. Additionally, the interior surfaces weren't wiped down at all. I waited over an hour for each vehicle, and both times the work felt rushed and incomplete. Definitely not worth the $32.99 and $37.99 I paid. read more

I used to use them regularly the last 17 years. Came back for an oil change on my Denali. As I'm leaving young man approaches me and says we need your truck for a couple more minutes. We didn't fill out the paperwork. He proceeds to pull it back into the bay and I see them underneath draining oil out into a bucket with additional oil allowed to spill down into the capture device. Then I see them take the used brown oil and pour it back into the engine. Prior to this, I saw them washing the top of the engine off, which would indicate that there was some blowout perhaps from too much oil in the engine. I asked to see the dipstick in the oil. They pulled it out, and there was no oil showing and he argued with me three times that the oil was there, and we kept drying it and putting it back in and it came up with no oil on it. I asked him you need to dump the oil and put the correct oil back in there in the right amount for that I give them credit for doing. Never ever coming back here again, jeez how hard is it to change oil with a procedure? read more

My vehicle was not running normally after an oil change for an unknown reason. I contacted the service department and was advised to bring the vehicle back in. In my attempted trip back, the vehicle stopped on me. I called their shop, and they sent a mechanic to my location. After successfully getting the vehicle going again, trailed me back to the shop and officered a FREE loaner until the vehicle was re-diagnosed and repaired followed by an excellent detailed complimentary car wash. I would give this place zero stars if possible During the end of June my 19 year old son needed his vehicle inspected. The team at this location informed him that unless he had his brakes replaced; due to the excessive wear and tear, he could not pass inspection. Total estimate $520+ . I determined that might be much and his vehicle had less than 50k miles with a previous brake pad replacement. I needed a second opinion based on the price alone. I took the vehicle to a very reliable national brand service location only to find out the vehicle has over 50% of the pads left, no wear on the rotors and can pass inspection with flying colors. My experience makes me believe that this company justifies stealing and cheating. I will make sure to never have any of my vehicles cleaned at this location and I will never use their services. I recommend everyone avoid this place. Shameful tactics used on women and young adults. read more

I took my car in and paid for car wash #3. $40 and when they were finished, I got in my car to leave and noticed the most fowl stinch. Like mildew and soured laundry! I was in a hurry trying to get to work so thought it would dissipate after a little bit! I didn't! My car has always had a pleasant or neutral smell! Not sure what they did or if their system has mildewed supplies. Perhaps mold in the detergent or something! Very disappointed! Will never go back!!! read more

First of all , If you need an oil change , go to somewhere else, that's how their fraud started with us. That's how they get you. Here is how things happened. We went for oil change, William asked if we are in the hurry , we said not, he told us it's gonna be 40 to 50 mins. So we waited in the park nearby. We came back after it's almost the time, he came told us our rear brakes are bad, we agreed to do it here , he said to us will be 30 more minutes to be done, then as we walked into the room to run our credit car with cashier , the cashier guy ask William how long , he answered cashier with under breath tone : 3 hours. 3 hours ?? That's not what you told us William. So at the bill , he charged us 2.5 hour Labor fee $288 ! So your hourly Labor fee is $115 , so you RIPPED OFF us $138 here with the false labor hour ! And btw, their oil change is $52.99, they claimed "it's synthetic blend oil " , I checked after , yeah right , other place offer the same for much cheaper , also way quicker ! And they did the Transmission Flush for $97 , which our car didn't need to ! We DID NOT ask for this either , they said the transmission fluid was low , my husband said top it up, but have no idea they did Transmission Flush ! We consulted a professional mechanic , our car DOES NOT NEED the Transmission Flush. Here is another $97 RIPPED OFF ! And William also said the Shocks are rusted , need to be replaced , which would be another $1200. Thanks god we didn't do it . Also this place shouldn't call Kwik Kar either , they are Thief+Slow, wasted us half day of our time and our money, " Slow Kar " or " Kwik Thief " would be a perfect name for them . Trust me , don't let that "car wash included" get to your head , nor these discount coupons . It's all traps . This place is the most horrible horrible horrible car shop we've ever been . Long story short we got scammed $670. My car was taken to this location to get a part replaced and the part was NOT replaced. When the check engine light came on 1 week later it was discovered that it was the same issue. The part had not been replaced and was still causing my car problems. Later that week, I went into the store to speak to the manager about the issue and he took fault for the mishap and promised to refund us the full amount via check. There was no offer to look at the vehicle or replace the part. Next week we went to collect the check and the manager told us that he was no longer going to give us the refund because they didn't verify that the work was not done. The manager/part owner failed to keep his promise on refunding our costs and we will not be back. read more

Went in today for a state inspection. Steve brought to my attention a drive belt that was indeed needing to be replaced (about 1/4 of it missing). I was hesitant and he patiently showed me where belts had to be checked for state inspections. I was upset (I don't like surprises at car shops) - he remained calm. In the end the belt did need to be changed. All the other service I've had done at this shop have been good. read more

I've been a customer with Kwik Kar on Fry since 2009, and I have two vehicles that I have taken to them all this time. I've finally come to the point, after being a loyal customer, where I am never going back for anything. Like many I started going there to get oil changes, and as they include a basic car wash I was happy with the service. They have a descent lobby to loiter in while you wait for your vehicle. I don't know if I'm simply the unlucky person, but just about everytime I have gotten work done outside of an oil change there is always something wrong. I have had to take my vehicles back over and over. The last straw was I took my van in yesterday to get the window regulator and motor replaced so the driver side window will roll up and down. I paid $475 ($280 parts) with an oil change as it was time. Supposedly the vehicle is to be washed and detailed. When I got into the driver side there was an oily, sticky substance all over the door handle and on the window from the inside of the door where the work was done. Did they offer to clean it up? No. It wasn't their fault as the manager said. They had not vacuumed the inside either. A couple of weeks ago, I took my truck in and it got $1250 worth of work done as it died on me driving down the road. You would think that after paying that much money the vehicle would be fixed correctly. Along with all the work they had fixed a leak on the transmission, but it was leaking huge pools of fluid. I'm lucky that the transmission didn't have to be replaced with how much it was leaking as I had driven to work before I noticed it. So I had to take it back and waited over an hour to have it fixed correctly. Supposedly it was a bad gasket. I'm supposed to believe that a brand new gasket was bad. Where do they get their parts? The junkyard? The time before that I took my van in because it had an oil leak along with some other work that needed to be done. When I left I immedieatly heard this high pitched, metal rubbing on metal noise. After taking it back, one of the "mechanics" had bent a piece of metal underneath and it was rubbing against the axel. Another time, I took my van in for a tune up because one of the cylinders was misfiring. It was going to be expensive to fix, so I bought parts myself. That was a mistake. I say that because of their attitudes about it. I ended up having to take my van back in twice as two other cylinders needed service. Then I had to take it back probably within a year to have them all completely redone, which cost even more money. One time I took my van in to be fixed and the "mechanic" didn't even put my engine back together correctly. I looked under the hood when I got home and there were pieces missing! So again, I had to take my van back in and they found the parts laying against one of the walls in the garage. I got the life time nitrogen for my tires deal. I don't know how many times they have failed to meet their obligations. I have to tell them over and over to make sure they do it. There have been times they haven't even when I have asked. They are supposed to put the blue nitrogen caps on my tires and I still don't have some of them. Some of the stems don't have caps at all. They charge $90 for a diagnostic fee by hooking up their computer to the car and seeing what it says. You can go to Auto Zone and get it done for free. That diagnostic fee is a massive scam! Its absoutely ridiculous. So basically, I am sick and tired of this Kwik Kar and their excuses and failure to take responsibility. I'm tired of them not meeting their "promised" obligations. I'm tired of paying hundreds and thousands of dollars for poor service and low quality mechanic work. I'm tired of them not cleaning up my vehicles after working on them. I don't know if they are being honest about the work that needs to be done, and I don't know if they actually fix my vehicles like they should. I hate the car mechanic industry because it is full of corruption, dishonesty, and cheating bastards who take us for all our money. Then they don't even fix our vehicles correctly. Its the same old story of giving as little as possible and taking as much money from us as possible. A lot of times its theft. Update #1: I wanted to update this review with another piece of important information. When I put that $1250 in my truck a little while back this location was supposed to do a full service oil change. That includes checking and filling fluids. Not long after this visit my washer fluid indicator went off. I checked it and it was almost empty. Plus, my overflow for my radiator was bone dry. Wish I had come to yelp first before going here! Yesterday I took my car for a state inspection and, like many other reviewers have stated, they told me my brake pads were worn and there was something wrong with my fuel injector, total cost would be $650. Ironically I had my 35,000 mile service 4 months before and on the service report I had 8 millimeters left on my pads. Kwik Kar was claiming I had only 2 millimeters left. Because I've only ever had my car serviced by the dealer I called them and booked my car in for a diagnostic, guess what!? Brakes are fine and nothing wrong with the fuel injector. Kwik Kar lied hoping I was naive enough to agree to unnecessary work. Shame on you Kwik Kar!! read more

This is the first, and absolutely the last time that I will EVER use Kwik Kar Lube. I came for a state inspection. At first I was told my cars transmission fluid needed to be changed yet i know for a fact it wasn't crucial as I had just bought this vehicle from Sterling Mcall as a certified pre-owned vehicle. He initially told me it would be an extra $199 on top of the inspection cost but that he would "help me out" and do it for $155. Needless to say, I declined the service and you could immediately see on his face that he was upset. He then told me that the windshield wipers had to be changed out and that if I didn't agree to it, he would fail the inspection. Just like the transmission fluid, I KNOW my wipers were absolutely fine and I honestly feel like since he couldn't get me to get the service on my transmission fluid, he felt the need blackmail me with the wipers by threatening to fail the entire inspection if I did not let them change them out. Again, the vehicle was thoroughly inspected by Sterling Mccall before I bought it and I've never had any issues with the wipers anyways. But before I even had a chance to consider it, he right away told me that the guy had already started the inspection which ultimately gave me no choice but to do it. When it was all said and done, he told me it would be $60 total, and since I wasn't expecting to have to pay more than $30 when I initially left my house, I pulled up coupon from their website for 15% off all services, and right away he was visibly upset that I had done that. He started pressing a bunch of different buttons on the computer for like a good solid minute - as if he had to crack some type of highly intense encrypted code to honor the discount. Finally, he said that the best he could do was $56. Now I'm not a math-wiz but im pretty sure $4 off is not 15% off of $60, but at that point I wasn't even in the mood to argue over a few dollars, mostly because I honestly didn't trust what he might end up doing to the car, or intentionally fail the inspection, in retaliation. The whole experience there made me feel completely taken advantage of. Absolutely pathetic. I pray that the managers or owners of Kwik Kar realize that hustling customers for a few extra "Kwik" bucks will ultimately hurt your business in the long-run. Especially when other potential customers read these reviews and decide it's not worth the hassle to deal with level of scummyness. read more

When I explained to a friend of mine who is knowledgeable in car service and repair, he called the manager who then blatantly lied about being present and a conversation that me er ever occurred. I should have waited for the service but this establishment needs to be honest and not so greedy. I'm sure that with Covid19, there business is down but no need to be dishonest. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE, SCAMMERS!!!!! MY 17 YEA OLD Daughter brought her Mini Cooper in for an oil change, they then came to her and said that her rear brakes were totally shot and that she ha zero brake fluid in the car, they gave her a quote of $603.12 to do the rear brakenpads, brake fluid flush and fill back up with brake fluid. my daughter Calle me on the phone to ask if it was ok to give them the go ahead to do the work as it seemed to be really big problem for her to drive the car like that. little did kiwi car know number 1 that she would call me but also the brakes and rotors were changed front and rear less than 3000 miles ago. they saw that she was on the phone with someone that was second questioning the estimate and work be performed. I asked my daughter to ask the tech for it in writing and that her dad was requesting it. 2 minutes later the tech went to another employee and then proceeded to tell my daughter that they had made a mistake and her brakes were brand new. my daughter called me again to tell me this so I called kiwi car and asked for the manager to which the tech pretended that he was the manager and that a new guy had just made a mistake. now here's where it gets worse, I know all theaters that work there from going there for inspections and car washes, I told the tech that was pretending to be the manager that I was on my way and I wanted my daughter to point out the "new" tech that had just told her that her brakes were shot. I get there 5 mins later, I don't live far away, walk in and ask for the manager, now the place was packed and they asked me to talk to them on the shop floor to which I refused, I want everyone in there to hear what I have to say. The manager says that the guys new and he made a mistake, I get my daughter to point out the guy and guess what? he's not new! when he sees me point at him through the service hutch window, while I'm talking to the manager, he runs over to the window and starts to shout at me, the manager pushes his face blackout through the window and shuts the hutch sliding glass window. while continue to get an explanation from the manager the tech was standing behind the managers back where the manager couldn't see him waving his hands and pointing to me to go outside with him and fight him, I alerted the manager to this and he refused to look behind. I told my daughter to leave without the oil change and go to one of the multiple places in the area. when we were walking outside the tech came after me and started shouting threats and profanity at me and looking to fight me, I bit my lip and walked away. The worst in over selling. Son went for an oil change because my husband is out of the country. Telling him they found stuff in his oil and he needed an engine flush. Also, didn't even mention the fuel additive they added to him. Charged $300 for an oil change and their additives. No explanation from Manager Kevin, just that he didn't work on the car he was working on another car. Kevin said speak to Kelly, his assistant manager. So, Kevin didn't want to hear it, just passed the buck. Kelly said he only recommends and it's up to the customer to approve. He left it to my son, to decide what needed to be done. Nonsense. For me the saga continues with this place of business. I was hoping that under new management I would be able to find a solid place to get my oil swapped close to where I live. To make a long story short I had my oil changed and when I got home I noticed the same oil filter on my engine. This is totally unacceptable and it makes one wonder what else they did or didn't do to my vehicle. To credit the owner, he had a mechanic change out the filter on my second visit of the day. DO NOT- I repeat, DO NOT take your car here. Took my car in, paid $1300 for them to "fix" it which lasted less than 24 hours. So I took the car in again and spent another $2600. At this point we took it in and they said "let's not jump to any conclusions here, it's an old truck". Well my "old truck" never had any issues until they started messing with it. Less than a week later, on the way back from our road trip, it broke again. Now, we have multiple cars and I didn't have another $1300 lying around, so I took it to a new shop today. They checked it out and saw that the part wasn't even bolted down. WHAT A JOKE. Then they told me that it says on their receipt that if another mechanic touches it their work is no longer guaranteed- but they legitimately don't have people working there with knowledge of how to fix it. When I talked to the manager, he said he couldn't find my information in the system. I told him I've been going there for oil change for four years. He said there's nothing else he can do unless I go in person. I told him I could go in person, but fair warning, there would probably be a scene because I'm highly angry and I would be posting a review about their terrible work. His response was "you're threatening me and we don't tolerate threats around here, I have to go help another customer ". I said that I was also a customer and he responded with "from months ago".
