Such a shame. I've been coming here for years for car washes and small fixes, but was very disappointed to get taken advantage of today. Like all the rest of these people commenting, I came in for a simple inspection. I had just serviced my car at the dealer two weeks ago so should have been fine in every way. After the inspection was done, the mechanic told me when I had a chance I was a little low on a couple of fluids. Sounded simple. Sounded like not a big deal of topping off fluids. I asked if he could take care of it while I was there, he said yes. No mention of cost or what exactly they would be doing. Next thing I know, my $25 inspection is now a $400 brake flush and coolant flush that they "graciously" reduced to $270. Very disappointed and will never return. read more

Don't my state inspection done here everybody was really friendly which was refreshing and they did an Excellent job. I think they had everything done and me out the door within 15 minutes. Here's a little secret if you ever come here to get something fixed or inspection or get your car washed. Inside there's a freezer full of ice cream they stock that freezer with premium ice cream. I am currently here on a Sunday and it is pretty crowded. I was here Friday when I hade my Tahoe done the owner was here and his customer service had me come back. The since this my first oil change with my Tahoe I was informed that I needed semi synthetic oil I was weary but it ended up being true. OK I know it was done because I saw where they used the drum rather than the hose oil (bulk). Still I had asked for the upgraded wash. When I was told my truck was ready the wash was a basic. I got my receipt and they charged me for a basic oil change. I pointed it out and the guy who changed my oil said well looks like you got a discount because it was put in the system wrong. I said well I waned the was update and he just sent the guys to clean the wheels and dress the tires. I know it's hot and that it was late in the day but it makes me hesitant on bring it back in the future. Part of the "full service" is checking tire pressure which I knew was low when I left because the sensor let me know not because they told me. Seams like the more I write about this the more I am wondering why I'm here Now with the pu I know bulk oil will be OK and I need the wash they are busy but I come inside and they say park at the wash and the wash says park in the old change bay. Come on guys I see radios so communications need to be used to try to get people out ASAP. Since I left at the was I know see it in line at the bay when 3 other vehicles jumped in front of me. Not too happy right now Well I was right I asked for a 3 wash which includes wheel cleaning and trim dressing. When my truck did not have it I refused to pay for it. When the wash guy asked about it I said the wheels were not clean and no dressing on the trim. The guy actually told me it was rust! I licked my finger and rubbed off the "RUST" WHICH WAS BRAKE DUST! Dishonest. Up charge for everything (oil changes usually cost 50 bucks after all of the add ons). And they ALWAYS try to upsell you on additional "problems" that need to be fixed even though I had just fixed these myself at a fraction of the cost. I had just left one of their sister locations on W Little York road where I actually received my initial oil change, if that location was on Yelp I would have only given it two stars The two shops were night and day, even though the first location is much closer to my home, I will drive the extra 11 miles because of the customer service differences. Even though it was extremely busy, and I was going there for a " free wash" I was treated the same as the guy next to me getting the $ 40.00 package. The place was very clean and had several things for you to do while you were waiting to be serviced. Fresh pot of coffee, some candy for the kids, a flat screen TV to watch, a good selection of magazines, etc. Even a play area too keep the little ones occupied. Best of all.... FREE WI-FI !!... I watched how they handled other customers, I did not see any of the tactics you hear about at places like this. Just a real good, friendly, almost family like atmosphere.. Even the restrooms were exceptionally clean. THEY GET IT.... Clean atmosphere makes the customer feel like their cars will be equally cared for. Kudos Guys.. As long as I live in Katy, this is where I will take my cars. read more

It's hard to give them 2 stars at this point but I'll explain why. I have been in Texas since 2007 and this was the ONLY place I've ever taken my vehicles. Most of my vehicles have been new and within their warranties so I would use Kwik for oil changes, vehicle inspections and car washes. They have been fairly good and respectable. They seem nice. This January, I took my vehicle in for an oil change and carwash. The mechanic told me that he saw some oil sludge and thought it would be best to add a flush to remove it. Trusting his expertise, I agreed to it. After I leave the store, my truck is blowing smoke out of the exhaust and loses oil quick. I have to put a quart of oil in every two weeks. I took my truck back to Kwik the next day and they said it was just 'burning off the remaining oil sludge'. I took it to them a week later and they ran a series of tests and could not see the problem being related to their service. I took my truck to Nissan and they said that the problem was 100% from the the flush. Yes, there was oil sludge, more frequent oil changes and upgrading to synthetic oil could have fixed the problem. Nissan warned me that I might need a new engine. I've taken my truck to numerous mechanics and have made best friends with Enterprise Rental Car. I have spent over 2000 in repairs as of today and hope to get my truck back on Tuesday. My current mechanic confirmed again that it was the flush that damaged the truck and the oil sludge could have been naturally burnt off with frequent oil changes and a better quality oil. blah. read more

I was a loyal repeat customer but no longer. I will not deal with dishonesty or deception. I went in for my typical oil change. As usually they point out other things that need to be changed. Im ok with that. They pointed out my brake pads are thin. I agreed. He said he will give me $30 off on fluid flush and $30 if i download an app called Money Mailer. He asked me to sign to proceed. I felt that was a decent enough deal. When i go to pay, there was no $30 discount from that app called Money Mailer. He then said well sometimes it changes so there is no discount. Dont tell me i get a discount from that app just to get me to sign the authorization to do the work. Also I suspect they cut my wipers. Every time i go they show me my frayed windshield wipers. I cant believe i have to change wipers every 4 months. Just BEWARE of the upsell. read more

Do not visit this repair shop there a big scam the owner is named item I'm a past assistant manager at this location and he is ripping customers off it's oil changes not being performed and customers are charged for them if you are paying for synthetic oil your only getting regular the labor charges on repairs or way over priced something like A simply 4 cylinder tune up typically calls for 0.5 to 1.0 hour labor and there charging 3 times the amount all of there parts or marked up times 3 the part cost and on the state inspections the state really needs to get involved there failing customers for brakes that doesn't need them if you look at other reviews you will see how many complaints about this issue it is and it's also services being charged for that are not being done when I tried telling the owner why he is not getting any business because he is over charging and he needs to take care of his customers and not have his employees lie and get over on customers for his own greedy gain two days later on 9/24/2020 I was wrongly terminated I worked for the previous owner mr Kevin and he ran this company nothing like this and it shows why this place is like this now.a rip-off they are only going to take your money I have been keeping up with it for months I have pictures and videos and the have been turned over to the right people to investigate it. Took my car there for an oil change. It came up to $106, which is the most I have ever paid. I never paid more than $85 for 5 quarts of synthetic oil. In addition, they tried to talk me into doing some expensive repairs for apparently serious issues. Rear brakes replacements were included in the list of these issues. They quoted me $300 just for the rear brake pads replacement. $600 for the oil leak. $100 for various other parts. The brake pads were 3mm, and the mechanic said if I drive another mile it will damage the rotor. Baloney !! I took the car to another repair shop. They did the brakes for $175, and will repair the leak for less than $300 at a later time. Will not go back for sure. read more

After having my kindle stolen from Superior Car Wash on Fry Rd, I started going here. Superior car wash always did a bad job because they left residue and soap still on my leather or car. One time they didn't even wipe away what they wrote on my window (they wrote silver package on my window and didn't wipe it off...) Kwik Car on the other handle pays attention to all detail and my car looks great. I no longer have to wipe away residue, soap, wax, foam when I get home. Kwik Car wash wipes my car clean. I needed servicing because my car just reached 90,000 miles. Kelley was my service technician and man was he a life saver. He was incredibly professional and incredibly patient with my questioning. He called me whenever he had a question (did not assume I just wanted something fixed) and walked me through it. We have been going here for 17 years! We have always gotten honest service.... and we own multiple cars. I'm confused by any of the bad reviews... They never pressure for any service we feel we don't need. And I always check around and look up prices of other places. We were helped most recently by a guy named Steven who educated us through our choices of maintenance. This place keeps excellent records of our services so it's easy to keep track of our history. They always offer coupons as well. And if my tire pressure is low I swing by there and they always fill it up no charge. I highly recommend. read more

I come here ALL the time for washes and oil changes. Never had an issue. Went today to get an inspection to have a guy whip my car around the parking lot to where my tires were screeching! "I needed to test the brakes". I understand this part of the process but flooring it in a customers vehicle isn't acceptable. Thankful I was outside to see it. Super disappointed. Jesse took care of my car quickly and efficiently, and made sure my car was safe to drive before I left. I needed to drive the car before my check engine light would turn off, but they went the extra mile and drove it for me so I could go ahead and get my inspection the next day. They saved all the old parts for me so I could see the problems myself, and had all the repairs completed in about a day and a half. I have been dealing with the manager Steve and the mechanic Paul for a number of years. I've had five cars that I've taken to Kwik Kar. Steve has always been extremely helpful and explained all the repairs in great detail. In addition he gave me his personal cell number "just in case" I needed anything. Paul has worked on my college age son's car since the first oil change. Today we had a problem with the original battery and the alternator. Paul knew the car and Steve made sure that they could finish the repairs today. I highly recommend this company and Steve and Paul to resolve any issue that comes up with your car(s)! read more

Received a coupon and went to Kwik Kar for a basic oil change. Once before they had inspected my car and all was good. During the oil change they said they wanted to speak with me. They said that there was a leak in my radiator hose along with my turbo hose and all of my fluids were really beyond changing. They gave me an estimate for the just the hoses of 749.06. I have an older Volvo and have only let Johnny at Southwest Auto service my car since the warranty expired. I refused the work at Kwik Kar and went to Southwest Auto. Johnny told me he checked out my car like it was his mothers and found no leaks or bad fulids. I feel sickened that a locate business would try to take advantage of a female senior citizen. I would never go there again and warn others of misleading evaluations of their vehicles. read more

I have been going here for awhile because it is close by. Usually, the service is ok, but one time they broke my gas door thing when I got my car washed. I confronted them when I saw it and they said it wasn't them. However, prior to going there the gas tank door closed, but when my car was cleaned it was open and wouldn't close. I was tired of arguing with them and left. I came back again to get my car washed because it was around the corner and I sat in the waiting room for over an hour. I noticed cars getting cleaned after mine leaving before me and was wondering why? I couldn't see my car from the inside of the shop so I couldn't tell if it was done or not. Finally, I was getting fed up and it turns out it had just been sitting there the whole time. No one came and told me it was done. I didn't know it was the customers responsibility to know when the car is ready. That was annoying. And when I asked to pay the manager (don't know who she was) wouldn't get out of the way of the cashier to ring me up. She was counting something and was in the way even though I had asked her if I could pay. She waited until she was finished counting paper to let the cashier ring me up. I had already waited for my car that was done and annoyed I had to wait for the manager to count her papers before I could get rung up. This place is ok because of its convenient location. I've gone here a couple of times for oil changes and car washes. They have never gotten my "order" right. I either get the oil change or the car wash but they can't seem to do 2 thing in 1 visit. Plus, the wait is forever. Out of convenience for location and a terribly filthy small SUV, I dropped my car off for a detail job. The interior looks great except that the floor mats are literally dripping wet. I had to bring them all inside to dry. Now for the exterior.....it doesn't appear they did more than run it through the automatic car wash. They even tried to sell me a $100.00 wax that is supposed to be far superior to their regular $50.00 wax. It's clear they used no wax at all. It rained while they still had my vehicle and the car is covered in water spots. Had it been waxed with anything, the rain would have simply rolled off. The windows were so filthy that I actually washed them myself and used Rain -X when I got home. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this place of business. They offer a free car wash with an oil change which I've often taken a rain-check on because it takes a long time for the oil change. Also, they've got salesmen masquerading as mechanics, selling cabin filters, other things you don't need. However, after my oil change on July 27 I immediately noticed fluid in my garages at home and at work. Then one day, a lot. My car was 3 quarts low on oil. I took my car to Carsports (reliable auto repair service) on Mason Rd. They suspected a loose filter but gave Kwik Kar too much credit. It was a loose oil pan plug, which was about to fall out according to the mechanic. I won't be taking my car to Kwik Kar anymore for oil changes. read more

A few years back I was a regular customer, got my oil changed here regularly and paid for lifetime nitrogen in my tires (about 90$). Well I quit patronizing them a few years back after a cell phone number mix up caused them to perform services on my car I didn't want. They accused me of orchestrating the confusion to get free services from them, even going so far as to call me into the garage to interrogate me. Eventually the truth came out and I left, the owner even called to apologize which I give him credit for. He offered me free services but I wasn't interested and moved on as a customer. Well that brings me to today, I decide it's been years and I'd give them another chance. I go in to get a state inspection and refill my nitrogen while in there. The technician informs me the nitrogen machine broke and they can't fix it so my lifetime nitrogen is worthless, he doesn't even offer to fill the tires with straight air, just tells me I'm out of luck and he is sorry. Probably should have learned my lesson the first time and not gone back today, lesson learned. read more

Took my car here to have the annual inspection done. Kwik Kar has gotten a bad reputation in our neighborhood for trying to oversell and lie to customers about work that needs to be done. They told me that my brakes (pads) needed to be replaced in order to even pass inspection and they wanted to replace them on my Honda Odyssey that has less than 40k miles. Took somewhere else for a second opinion and they said that my brakes are fine and still in great shape with tons of life left in them. BEWARE of this place! read more

It's amazing to me that no matter what you bring your car in for, they always find something else wrong to upsell you and things don't work the same after you leave them. So I came in with a right rear tail light out. After the light went out I had replaced the bulbs myself to no avail. I had even swapped one of the new bulbs with the working bulb on my right tail lights and the right tail light (still) worked, but not the left. Long story short: I obviously know/knew how to change the bulbs and had one of them (on the left side that I swapped in myself) working and something else was wrong. When I came in I was very clear with the mechanic I had changed the bulbs myself and something else was wrong so I needed an inspection. He took out the entire rear light for a $95 inspection and showed me how the wire connector was loose and said he also replaced the bulbs and charged me for them (when I specifically said I just put in new bulbs). So my bill total was some $95 + $15 (for the extra/unwanted new bulbs I specifically said I didn't want changed) = about $120...pretty nasty. Apparently I should have brought some (more) KY Jelly, though, because when I went up to pay the cashier griped "SO...did you learn your LESSON?" Don't change bulbs yourself..." Yeah...as if I had torn out the bulb connector/wire myself and/or needed new bulbs right after I replaced them. What fools. read more

The most expensive and least quality car wash I have ever had. My floor mats were taken out and not put back properly. Both my front windshield and back windshield were covered with white streaks. The cup holder area was not cleaned. This was an expensive detail package. There is no one to talk to inside about the wash. Would not recommend this business for a car wash. read more
