Great service, knowledgable and competent techs, all the services for OEM maintenance, and they carry Motorcraft oil for my Explorer Platinum. All of our maintenance requirements are in their system and they let us know what's due when. They have done all the maintenance on my husband's F-150 Platinum since 2012 and 170,000 miles later it still runs perfectly. Took my truck to get an oil change and inspection. The guy changing the oil took forever to unbolt my skid plate as i watched. Takes a 1/4 in open wrench on once side 1/4 socket in other and slides right out. After couple days I hear a odd knocking sound at 5mph. I get under my truck the front bolts are completely missing and the rear are backed all the way out. So either he dropped em while taking them out or said f' it never tried to put them back in and let it ride. Theres no way in hell they backed out by themselves over 100k miles and never lost a bolt. Glad these "techs" think about safety once it leaves their shop it could of come off no problem and went thru someones windshield behind me and id never even know. Piss poor piss poor! read more

I brought my SUV in for repairs on 11/01/2016. The inspection was thorough, and I was informed throughout the repair process. After I drove my car home, I started hearing an unfamiliar noise. I took my SUV back the next morning to inform them of my concern. Jose, the master mechanic, and I went for a drive so that he could pinpoint the issue. I found Jose to be very knowledgeable and fair. I will definitely return if/when I need more work on my SUV. read more

Great service. I went in for a much needed oil change and while having that done, they found a old brittle hose that connected to the coolant that had disintegrated to the point that it was no longer able to carry the fluid to cool the engine. Eventfully causing the engine to burn up if not replaced. My car is a foreign car so any repair is pricey but I was not expecting this and it was very expensive but had to be done. Jesse was so kind and worked with me to discount his labor/cost so that I could afford the repair. They did a beautiful job in cleaning my car. I will be back as it was a pleasant experience and so very much appreciated. read more

I have an 08 Acura tsx. I have always taken my car to the dealership for my maintaining; however, one time I had to leave town and took it to my nearest NTB due to running out of time prior to my road trip. Then for my next oil change I took it to kwik kar.. They told me that the oil in my car is extra thick because NTB put the incorrect oil and that they will need to flush it out and clean it costing me $150 to do everything they needed to. So I went back again for my next oil change and turns out they said the exact same thing!!! This time I know they were full of it! I told them to leave it alone. After all that I took it back to the dealership and explained it all, they took a look at it and said nothing is wrong with my oil!!!!! Do not ever take your car here!! They took my cabin air filter out to show me it needed to be replaced, and I declined. They never put it back in come to find out. It is $39 to replace, and when I called to inform them there was no offer to reimburse me, only a weak apology. Buyer be ware if you go here. I took my car in for a STATE inspection. The car barely started after the inspection and then I got home and it wouldn't start at all!!! They said it was a battery terminal however my car was working 100% before I took it in. 100%!! So, I asked the manager if it was just a huge coincidence that this happened immediately after they put their hands on it. "Yes, he said. I don't think I had the option to give no stars. Used to love taking my vehicles here until an employee stole from me out of my vehicle. Said they would check the tapes and call me back. Still no call after a week or more. Managers said they would replace my belongings to keep me as a customer but no one wants to talk to me when I've called. Charged for services they did not perform. The low tire pressure light started flashing, checked the pressure and is low even when part of their routine inspection supposedly performed. Took my vehicle to the dealership for a recall service today and I found out that I have been driving with no air filter, after they supposedly replaced it a week ago. Make me wonder what else was NOT done --- oil change, tire rotation? Kwik Kar, If I am paying for something at least DO what you are getting paid for. Beware that they will try to sell you additional services. The free car wash is not worth it. Take your vehicle somewhere else. read more

Took my truck there for an inspection and to get a tail light replaced. They could not figure out how to remove the assembly holding the bulb and were trying to pry it loosed. Fortunately they called me saying the assembly was stuck and wanted to ask if thy should pry harder. I went by to take a look and there were actually two screws holding the bed extender bracket in place which had to be removed before the assembly could be removed. In the interest of full disclosure it is true the bed liner had to be removed to access the screws holding the bed extender bracket but the bed extender bracket was clearly visible with the liner in place. It took me two minutes on the internet to learn how to remove this assembly. Not impressed with the mechanical knowledge at this location. read more

This place used to be honest when first opened looking for business .PLEASE READ AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE and warn all your God loving friends to do same..they will rob you blind given the chance,I stopped with my kiddo car to get inspected and get sticker not knowing that he just had it tested at the dealer and it had passed with flying colors ( car has 14000 miles) before he deployed overseas and they don't issue window stickers anymore..... Well this place said it needed almost 700 dollars in work to pass inspection , before even they got online and would have seen the car passed inspection a week earlier at the mercedes dealer. really,???the supposed manager " PAUL " walked around it and with his keen ears and noses & came to latter conclusion ????? they still arrogantly charged 25 bucks to give me back keys ??? Stay away from this place. I used it once for a oil change and car wash - they tried to upsell all sorts of stuff related to the oil change and the car wash staff stole over $10 in change out of my change holder. I recently took my Honda for a state inspection and was told they needed to do an emissions diagnostic for $105. Over an hour later they told me an evaporation valve needed to be replace and it would be over $500 more. I told them no and took my Honda to a Honda specialty car repair just down the road. It passed inspection without any issues as evidence by the inspection report. read more

First my car, then 3 months later my son has an oil change. Both times we get home and the next morning there's a huge patch of oil on the driveway. And both times they say the employee forgot to put on a gasket. I think they train someone that morning, then let them screw up your car that afternoon. Not to mention the $300 to $500 worth of work they will tell you your car needs every time you go there, all of which is unnecessary. I needed to find a place to get my oil changed since I just moved here I like that they give you a free car wash and vacuum your car with an oil change that was unexpected and nice. They even hand dry it, nice touch! That being said: I would only go here for an oil change. The company recommends 3000 miles for an oil change but the manufacturer's recommended oil change mileage for my Toyota Tacoma is 5000. Don't go by Kwik Kar's recommendation go by the manufacturer's especially for newer cars. Second thing they try to tell me that my break fluid was transmission fluid and should be red. Brake fluid comes in different colors and mine was clear and didn't need flushed. My recommendation is: do the research on what fluids your car or truck uses because I had just purchased my vehicle from the dealership a year and a half ago as certified used. Don't tell me they put the wrong fluid in the brake lines. read more

Told me I needed to have my brake pads replaced. They wanted $350 for the brake job. I took it to the dealership who inspected the brakes and said there was PLENTY of life on the pads still and no replacement was needed. These guys at Kwik Kar will tell you anything to try to get you to pay them a lot of money for unnecessary work on your car. read more

This place is terrible, scammers. Had a brake light come on my dash and took it to Kwik Kar and told that I shouldn't drive the car, get it fixed there, they can do it cheaper than mercedes. Got a call to say $700 but because it was Christmas he could lower it to $600 or maybe $500 but I may want to think about giving the mechanic a tip because he saved me so much money. When I picked up the car, the mechanic was creepy and mentioned the tip again, I wanted to leave asap so I paid and got out of that place quick. Mercedes was cheaper so I should have gone there first. Spoke to the manager who said he can't do anything. Then I advised the owner who tried to call once and said he would call and never rang.... I came to Kwik Kar on South Fry Road in Katy for a routine inspection, this being my first time there. After they had taken my car in to get inspected, a gentleman walked up to me and told me that he had noticed a chip in my windshield (which I had already had sealed) and said that he can bill my insurance for the repair so that it would be "free" for me. I quickly declined his offer. I later found out that he in fact did not work there, but he partnered with them so that he can bum some jobs from them--this angered me, as I felt this was sleazy business practice. As if this wasn't off-putting enough, another gentleman approached me in the waiting room saying that my windshield wipers were torn and that he could sell me some new ones. When I tried to decline, he told me that he will not pass my inspection unless I agree. So at this point I agreed. When I got home, I had asked my father about the windshield wiper (as he is the mechanic of the family). He then told me that he replaced the wipers himself last week. When I called Kwik Kar, I was livid and demanded a refund for the replaced wipers. The manager (named Paul) had me come back to get my old wipers back for a refund. Paul was still insisting that his crew did nothing wrong. Bottom line: take your money and your business elsewhere. These people are a bunch of sharks waiting to rip you off. read more

This review is for the car wash. I spent 50$ on a car wash that when my wife brought it home I see that there are spots all over the windows! I tried to take a picture but it wouldn't come out. I decides to call and talk to the assistant manager which tells me the next time I come in to get him to do my car. First, i shouldn't have to ask for anyone particular bc every employee should be able to wash a car correctly and to be able to see hundreds of spots on my front window and the passenger window. Second, i received a free car wash with an oil change that was a better wash than what I paid dor yesterday. The assistant manager told me he couldn't give out refunds etc which i didnt ask for but he didn't even offer a discount on the next wash. Even if its 10$! So now I will never use this company aalgain. If you can't make customers happy bc they didn't do the correct job first than I will take my car washes, oil changes and inspections elsewhere. read more

Do not go here. My 17 year old daughter went in for an oil change. I called before she went in and inquired the price. About 20 minutes after she arrived she came home with a loaner car and said they told her she needed a lot of work done. I called them immediately and told them the only thing we needed was an oil change and if they intended to do all of this major work why wasn't I called because she is a minor . He said "I don't know how old she is" I said "did you happen to look at her drivers license before you sent her away in a loaner car". He said yes he did, I told him then he knew her age and if he didn't he was a fool. I told him to do nothing to the car. He told me the oil had already been changed. I returned their loaner, which he originally told me I would have to pay for because I wasn't having the work done. I told him he gave a loaner and an estimate to a minor so I would not be paying for it. I picked up the car paid for an oil change and after dealing with them, I'm not all together sure that the oil was changed. So dishonest and sneaky. Service was good. They were suppose to rotate the tires on my truck. I was told they weren't sure if the lift could hold it??? May be true, but the guy never told me either way. Oil change was done and they were too busy trying to sell me other stuff, that they failed to tell me they didn't rotate my tires. I didn't even check until I got home. I took my car in for the emissions inspection, they told me it wouldn't pass and needed an O2 sensor but they could fix me up for $140. I took it to an exhaust specialist, he put in a new gas cap, reset the computer and it has been fine ever since. I do not trust these guys to do anything other than change the oil and that's questionable. read more
