He didn't finish and said he would be back. A month ago. A month of me calling and texting with no response. Meanwhile I have front coil overs that were never adjust properly and a loud clunk from one of them. I would assume at this point he is just ghosting next because he doesn't want to finish the job that I paid him for. Unless I hear back from him with a good explanation of why he couldn't use the phone for a month, I'll leave this review up as a warning for others. Second update: Miraculously the day after I posted the previous update, Jay contacted me. The months worth of text messages and calls weren't enough I guess. He said he was sick and would let me know when he would be able to come by. It's coming up on a month since that message and still no contact from him. Not even after I asked if he couldn't finish the work to just tell me. It's a shame that it got to this point, he seemed reputable at first. But now I'm stuck with a half assed job that I need to take somewhere else to get finished. He gathered all of my information ( INsurance card) and proceeded to provide an approximate time frame of 45 minutes. Now this was impressive to me because when you enter an establishment clearly in a work uniform it means I am going to work or coming from work. The mere fact he provided me with an estimated time shows he VALUES TIME. I accepted the estimated time frame and provided my keys. He offered me to have a seat in the waiting area and guided me to the refreshment area. I was so sleepy I sat down in those nice comfortable chairs and fell asleep. Literally before the 45 minutes I believe he was done and my car was parked near the front door so I can walk out and right to my car. You talk about service with a smile is an understatement. I am so looking forward to making sure I keep this location in mind for my car needs as well as referring them to others. Based on their assessment that the car was "in good shape otherwise" and knowing Hondas are reliable vehicles, my husband and I decided to proceed with this significant repair. After agreeing to the cost and completing the water pump repair, we were then informed the engine is misfiring and is not repairable - essentially requiring a full engine replacement. My concerns: We were never informed of potential engine issues before authorizing the $1,800+ repair We were explicitly told the car was "in good shape otherwise" A misfiring engine should have been detected during the initial diagnostic, especially before recommending we invest nearly $2,000 in repairs We are now stuck with a car that needs an engine replacement after just paying for major repairs Had we known about the engine condition upfront, we would have made a completely different decision rather than putting $1,800+ into a car that would shortly need an engine replacement. The mechanic, Willie, was rude and appeared frustrated, tried to pressure me about brakes I didn't request, and repeatedly called me approximately four times back-to-back, even texting me while I was still at the shop -- luckily, I keep unknown callers on silent. They put the wrong oil (5W20 instead of the required 0W20, which is stamped on my oil cap) into my car without asking. I immediately called my usual mechanic, who confirmed that using the wrong viscosity can damage my engine. The oil filter was changed at the same time, meaning it now contains the wrong oil and should be replaced again, but the shop refused to do so. To make matters worse, the owner (I assume) tried to grab my receipt and nervously laughed when I took a picture documenting the mistake. They even left my car running with the windows down after the error was "corrected," creating a safety risk. This shop is careless, disrespectful, and clearly assumes women customers don't know anything about their cars. Women are fully capable of reading manufacturer recommendations and recognizing when something isn't right. I will never return and strongly caution others. I now have to closely monitor my vehicle to ensure it was corrected properly. Willie claimed he was "trying to help," but disregarding manufacturer recommendations is completely unacceptable. For the safety of both your vehicle and your sanity, I strongly advise going somewhere else.
