Failed to determine cause of parasitic battery drain issue but charged for their time with suggestion to take car and hope their attempt worked. Drain continued. Returned with same results. No charge for second attempt but not sure anything was done. Gave up on their ability to resolve problem. Obviously do not recommend. read more

My truck needed a four wheel alignment in a bad way. The right rear was kicked 1-1/4" back and the entire axle was shifted over to the passenger side 1-1/2". This causes a severe pull while driving as anyone could imagine. After being assured that Autotechtronics had availability and an alignment rack for a long bed truck, I made the appointment and dropped it off a couple days early just to give them the go ahead for whenever they had time. To my surprise I was notified a full day earlier than when my appointment was set for that the truck alignment was complete. There was a note with their automated system, could've been a person texting me, that the front left hub bearing needed to be replaced. "This is what is causing the pull to the left", even though you can clearly see the rear is crooked as a question mark. I responded that I don't care about that, but I need the rear end tires to be aligned with the front. The ensuing text from them stated that that issue with the rear was completed but the bearing in the front needs to and can be replaced for $800+. I declined yet again and told them I'll be there as soon as I can. When I got there the next day I inspected the truck and the rear was just as askew then as it was before. I checked the U-bolts to see if they had loosened them and you could still see dust on the threads. Nothing had been done to the rear, obviously, but they wanted their $89 for the alignment. They handed me an alignment sheet showing that the thrust angle was off but it is still within range of what is described as "specified range". Not sure how that range is found but if you run a string, a blind man could tell it's off and it's certainly off by more than a hundredth of a degree. It's terrible that places like this exist in plain sight. Especially in Old Katy. There's no telling how many elderly citizens and women are being taken advantage of. When I spoke to the owner you could tell he knew he fucked up and thought it would be a quick buck. Saying that the hub bearing was the problem when it is so clearly and obviously seen in the rear is like in 2020 when people died in auto accidents but their cause of death was deemed Coronavirus. This place could be better, they could've had our entire fleet worth of trucks to perform odds and ends on, but they won't. I wouldn't trust them with anything. This is a place that you need to get a lithium battery camera and mount it to your frame before bringing it in just so that you can see if they actually drove it onto the lift. read more

Very knowledgeable. I took my car here to get my horn fixed, they were able to find the problem and come up with a solution pretty much on the spot! They even fixed my blinkers, so thanks to them for that. Where other mechanics couldn't even find the problem, these guys found it and fixed it. My 2005 Nissan Titan ball joints were bad, it's certainly not safe and I needed a place close to home in Katy to replace upper & lower control arms on driver & passenger side. Usually I do the work myself but this time it was too much for me, a big job that would be needing alignment after the install. I took it to the right place! My truck was the last thing my dad got me back in 05 and he passed away in 2017 from CA, so this truck has some sentimental value to me so trusting an auto repair shop can be somewhat nerve racking especially when you do things yourself. Autotechtronics was the right place to go! I was referred by a friend at work and I'm very happy with a job well done! Autotechtronics even found a persisting knocking noise I swear for the life of me I couldn't pin point! Easy fix for me but so glad they found it!!! My trucks got other issue such a the starter acting up, so I'm definitely coming back to them for the expertise! Changing the starter on a Titan is no picnic, and I'm too busy to tackle that now. I take care of my truck so I don't plan on buying anything new for awhile. So I feel better knowing now I have an auto shop I trust and that's so close to home! read more

We had the Texas vehicle inspection at Autotechtronics and found out our brake light fixture in the back window needed to be replaced. Robert gave us a quote, but it turned out to take way longer to install than was anticipated. It would not have been a surprise if the price had been changed due to the much longer time required, but Robert stuck to his original price which he had quoted me. Amazing! Take your car to these folks!! I took my elderly mom's Audi Q7 here to get some work done. She hasn't had air conditioning for two years (I know...she's VERY frugal). She also needed brakes badly and had a 'check engine' light on. She was mentally prepared for a very high bill. Well, it didn't happen that way. Turned out was all she needed was some freon and her AC works perfectly. Her brakes turned out to just need new fluid and a bleed...they work perfectly now. Her check engine light was because she forgot to put her gas cap back on after getting gas, so all she needed was a gas cap. Autotechtronics could have said she needed a new compressor (etc...) for the AC, new rotors, brake pads, sensors, and fluid for the brakes, and the who knows what for the check engine light. Could have all been VERY, VERY expensive and we would have never known that we didn't need all of that. Instead she paid under $400 for all of it. I'm not saying that your bill will be under $400, but you will get an honest deal here. Everyone was very professional and friendly too. You can hear Robert on the Car Doctor Radio show on Saturdays on AM700 which is how I learned about them. Give them a try...you won't be sorry. read more
