My pup Feyre
Kerry K.

Wonderful experience! Great results! Shelby was exceptional with my new pup. She definitely cares about the pets she spends time with. Would absolutely use her again for training needs!

Shelby Ball was my dog's trainer and she was absolutely amazing! She was a pleasure to work with and communicated everything with me every step of the way. She even sent me daily updates! My dog came home like a completely brand new dog! He has been extremely focused since being home and overall so much better at listening to me. I highly recommend Shelby to everyone!!!

Gioia, Big girls can learn too!!

Great , REALLY GREAT! I filled out the form and got helped quickly. Jeffrey matched me up to a trainer with care and what was best for MY situation with my giant schnoodle. I am actually on day 2 of training and can see improvements in my 9 month old. She was jumping on everyone and on other dogs with lots of excitement bc she was encouraged by visitors that "its ok, she is so cute". At 15 lbs she was cute standing up but at 55 lbs it is not cute in the slightest and could hurt someone. Megan is my trainer. I can not say enough good things about her. Just want to say I am SO pleased, happy, and thankful with/for MEGAN. *Professional *On time *Packs a in to the time we have to train *Nice *Knowledgeable+ *Adaptable *Never Negative to the dog or harsh. Just keeps showing her a better way. *Good ideas and complimentary ( in an informative way) to my dog and to me. ( It is important, so important for the owner to learn also and to learn the small differences in what they think is the best way and what a much better way is to do it. ) Love getting told that I actually am doing good too. Megan is shifting and correcting easily my dog and what she is doing. Along with if one way is working but other options may be advantageous too. ( If my visitor is calm I might be doing one thing, but if my visitor is encouraging my dog to jump then Megan gives me a different solution. Overall, after looking at a few other trainers in Austin and working with one briefly I can see there IS A BIG difference in Karma Dog Training. Everyone that helped me get to this training day was super helpful and attentive. Ok , enough said, I would encourage PUPPY owners to begin training day ONE and for those of us who waited , It's never too late! Patience , dedication, and lots of repetition will bring you and your dog to a beautiful place of understanding and ease. Gioia and I thank Megan and can't wait to see what we are doing after our 10 days of training in home. ( hey , this is so easy! They come to you , train in your environment so they can really see the dogs behavior. Yes it's work but the payoff is fantastic!. They could train without you but it's a dog-owner relationship that really seals the deal). OH, and they have many options to choose from to train your pup. Perfect! thanks thanks thanks... This is Odie now- able to relax and learning to trust humans again! Thank you Zion!
Deni V.

My highly reactive rescue needed a lot of help relaxing and building confidence and trust. Odie was found abandoned on a country road 6 months ago. He has separation anxiety and fears strangers, especially male ones. I reached out to Karma Dog Training to help me ease him into my life. Zion from Karma Dog Training was amazing. I bought 7 training sessions that helped me first and foremost understand how to read my dog's behavior and feelings and how to help him gently learn to reduce his anxiety and fear. Zion provides really patient and calm instruction for both owner and pet-- and what I also appreciate is the follow up documentation that reinforces and helps me keep the training going in between sessions. Odie is a much calmer dog now because of her help, and I am a much better momma to him too! We still have a ways to go-- but I feel confident I have the skills to continue to work with him. I have learned so much from Karma Dog Training!! Highly recommend Zion!!!

Sara is a personal trainer that does training in your house and your neighborhood. As a first time dog owners we are thrilled that we meet her! Going forward we will be only use her service. Sara is someone that has great skills with the dog and my husband and I would love to recommend her to anyone in Austin area!!! Sara is AMAZING person and anyone out there should use Sara to train their dogs

My dog, Birdie, adopted in February 2022
Caitlin B.

When I first called Karma Dog Training, I was nearly in tears. I adopted a dog and felt like I was in way over my head. My dog wouldn't use the stairs or elevator in my complex and had severe separation anxiety. With just a few private sessions with Zion Chatelle, my pup Birdie is using the stairs and elevator with confidence, has no separation anxiety, and is the one in a million dog I thought she would be. I'm so thankful I went this route.

We had about 5 private training sessions with Zion Chatelle and our 3 year old dog, Tina, and I think we learned as much as Tina did. We came to Karma Dog to learn techniques on how to build Tina's confidence, fine tune some of her default behaviors, and ultimately become less reactive to many things pups are naturally reactive to (squirrels, cats, etc.). We're lucky we were able to work with Zion as she was able to lead us right down the path to success! We saw a huge improvement in Tina's confidence and reactivity. A lot of this was done by implementing puzzle toys for feeding and learning how to engage her and hold engagement during various activities. Zion was not only patient with Tina, but she was patient with us (we're the real problem here ;)) and bestowed her infinite knowledge and expertise upon us that I know will help us (and Tina) for years to come.

Leo working hard to "stay" and working his charm
Andrew C.

We are so pleased with Sara and Karma Dog Training, and in a little over 3 weeks have been amazed at the progress so far. Leo has improved immensely and I feel that we have too, even more so! My son and I share everything we can from the zoom Tuesday classes with my wife so we're all consistent. We love the program and Sara's tips and genuine care about how we're doing. She has a wonderful sunny disposition and I love that everything she recommends is positive reinforcement based, and within the multiple methods, we can manage to find at least one that works. Our Leo is a rambunctious hound pup with a voice that could make an opera singer blush, so the fact that we can get through to him in a loving and effective way is priceless. I'm also so thankful we get the recorded video link and rewatch/practice when I'm able to. It is so helpful to have the ability to rewind and listen to everything shared, bc I often miss important details during the Tuesday night Zoom meeting... as mentioned above, Leo is quite the orator and "speaks" over everyone else! Looking forward to getting more practice with "go to bed" from this weeks's lesson and the tips for when he gets a little ornery. Bit by bit, we are improving something everyday and looking forward to more and more time with our little bundle of unbridled energy. Thank you Sara and Karma!

We recently worked with Zion to help with our puppy's barking at people and dogs when out on walks in our apartment complex, and it was a terrific experience! She is super knowledgeable and gave us easy-to-understand steps, which have helped a ton. Due to Covid, we met via video chat and it was very convenient and worked well for us. We had also had a previous experience working with her during puppy socialization class we participated in earlier in the summer in which she ran weekly zoom sessions for all participants covering different training techniques, and we learned a ton during those group classes as well. I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again in the future for more training (and we probably will as he gets older). Ernie is doing great and I would recommend her to any dog owner!

Aleka Z.

Highly recommend Makayla, she was very helpful during the whole process. She kept us updated with training videos almost everyday! You can really tell she cares a lot about her clients.

Liza, aka The "Good Dog" Girl trained our dog Bruce for 2.5 weeks while we were on vacation and she was amazing. Bruce is a different dog. I felt very comfortable leaving Bruce with her. Liza stayed in constant communication with us and gave us updates every step along the way! We got videos and photos of progress and updates on how he was doing. I'm so glad to have found Liza and Karma!

Olive and Hammer
Alea D.

Makayla with Karma Dog Training was amazing! My dog Olive is an overactive puppy who needs all the attention all the time. Makayla was patience and friendly throughout our sessions and made the process incredibly easy. She came to my home for in person training and took the time to not only train Olive but helped me be a better dog parent. It takes patience and persistence to create a different behavior and Olive has improved in the time spent together. Makayla allowed for flexibility of our appointments and was so knowledgeable! Highly recommend!!!!

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

This review is only based off of my experience/ first impressions and this business may work amazingly for your dog! Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

I cannot tell you how much comfort it brought us to know that people like Nicole and her team were taking care of things while we took a whirlwind trip to get away on a Holiday week. I always say-you can't put a price tag on peace of mind but it's even better when that price tag is affordable and not breaking the bank for quality care! The price is extremely reasonable for the quality of care you get here. I'll never use anyone else and I can't recommend them enough! Seriously. Look no further!

My husband and I work long hours out of the house and believe allowing an animal to stay alone is unhealthy emotionally and physically for them. When we relocated from North Austin to South Austin, which is like moving to another city in most Austinities minds, we left behind Mufasa's dog nanny. THREE pet sitters later, all of who are on YELP, we found Capcity Pet Sitting. Capcity Pet Sitting has been a blessing to my peace of mind. I can tell when a person doesn't have the time to really put into caring for a dog and when a company is just in it for the transactional benefit. Will and Claire ENJOY taking care of our Mufasa and it shows in his attitude at the end of the day. Will and Claire always keep me updated on how the day went and any new behaviors I need to be aware of or keep an eye on. It's easy, straightforward, and so very pet focused. Allison and her team seriously can't be beat. I'm not even inclined to try other providers for pet care. Starting out is simple, you fill out a form and schedule an initial visit. Allison showed up within her allotted time slot and met with Spring for the first time while we were home. She talked to us about her, how long have we had her, any issues we've had, and even went over the form we filled out to make sure all the information was correct. She was a dream to work with before we even purchased a service. Scheduling a walk or a visit or whatever you may need is quick and painless. You then get approved based on availability and you're all set. The first service requested was for them to take Spring on a couple of walks and feed her while we spent the evening out of town. They updated us on her mood, route they took, if she went to potty, and if she was able to eat, they provided pictures of my dog on their leash going about the area. All that alone? Excellent. BUT our dog was pretty new and was prone to dumping the trashcan when we left her alone too long. They provided a picture of the spilled trash, and cleaned up as best they could! I know I can count on this company for anything Spring may need. Phenomenal.

There were no problems, besides the key not working properly one time. Then, very recently, An absolute NIGHTMARE happened. They locked the keys inside the apartment, and they also left the balcony door open! The screen door was slightly open as well, and since i have a cat, they can get through easily. I live on the 5th floor, this is not a safe height to let a cat stay at, and possibly jump out. This mistake was over memorial weekend, where staff and maintenance as well as my girlfriend and I were out of town or busy. They texted me, and gave me a half hearted insincere apology. When I tried opening their pet sitting portal recently, trying to take up their offer of reimbursing the key lock out fee of $250 over a holiday weekend, they had ghosted me!! I was locked out of my account, and my number blocked. AVOID THIS COMPANY!! They make stupid mistakes and endanger pets -- the very last thing you want from a pet sitting company.

It's far and away the best choice for me: way, way cheaper than boarding, and easier on my little buddy, too, since he gets to stay in a familiar environment. Now, I only have one easy-peasy kittycat with no health issues or complicated routines - but *I* am sort of high-maintenance, in that I tend to be super disorganized and down-to-the-wire when planning my travel. They are not kidding when they say they guarantee availability for repeat clients. They have always been super responsive, kind, and reassuring in communications when I am feeling frazzled and worried about securing care at the last minute, and always ready to come in to save the day! Bella (Isabella) is not the owner but she runs the show day-to-day, I believe, and she is awesome, friendly, capable, and great at responding to messages. Depending on who does the actual service, I sometimes get photos and text updates and sometimes don't, but it has always gone well. Everyone seems trustworthy and like they are genuine animal-lovers. The only slight downside is that in the past they have seemed a little disorganized with invoicing/billing (repeat bills or not getting one at all) but now they have a new system that works very well. It also allows tips, which I appreciate, since I don't usually have cash on hand to leave as a tip. (Note for people new to pet-sitting services: you should leave a tip! I had to learn this.) Anyway as a single person, new to the area, and without a lot of people I feel comfortable asking to do favors for me, it is a great comfort to have this affordable service to rely on. I think I first chose Fur because they were willing to help me over a holiday, when other places said they wouldn't be able to accommodate a new client, and because of a Yelp offer. We had scheduled to take him in just before we left, but right before that, there was a technical issue at the vet, which meant he'd have to wait two weeks to start treatment - this could make a major difference in the outcome. With such a short time frame, we were in a bind and starting to panic. Luckily, the vet recommended we call Samantha. That day, she swung by our place to meet our boy, answer our questions, and grab some of his favorite treats to keep with her for his transport. She contacted both the boarding place and the vet on her own to let them know what was up (and make sure that our buddy didn't get fed before his procedure because that'd cause rescheduling.) That made us feel like we could take the trip and get his treatment started. Day of the appointment, she arrived at the boarding place on time, took him for his treatment, waited to make sure everything was good, then brought him back to get settled at the boarding facility, plying him with treats and petting on the way. He needs a special halo harness because of his poor eyesight, and it was no problem for her to get him secured. She sent pics and updates as the morning went. That absolutely reduced our anxiety and made it possible for us to enjoy the trip. She's professional, proactive, responsive, and clearly loves dogs. Thank you, Samantha!
