I'm a first time dog mom and am very worried person - I totally trust Ken Walks Dogs. They send photos and updates and are super easy to book through the app. My dog can't wag her tail hard enough when they pick her up - and she naps for hours when she's back from her adventure. Honestly, book him just for the professional style photos and videos! Keep coming back for the joy he brings your pup.

I loved these days because when she came back, I knew that she had enjoyed hanging out with other pups and getting to walk in some of Austin's beautiful parks. I could feel good about my dog traveling safely, because they have Commercially Insured Pet Taxi licensure (the last company I utilized didn't have any kind of safety measures when traveling). In terms of management, you can read the website to get a feel for how this company is managed, or I can make it easy and just tell you that Ken is a very hands-on, engaged owner. This review is only based off of my experience/ first impressions and this business may work amazingly for your dog! Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

They no longer send photos to us as proof of walk and validation our dogs are happy. Rather than send photos to the owners, they take photos which are relayed back to corporate. I'm to believe this change is somehow beneficial to me? They have stated they no longer have the capacity to manually relay photos to clients, but ARE able to manually relay photos to corporation. A tad counterintuitive and certainly not focused on customer. They've also stated having a lock box at my house makes me more secure because they no longer hold onto keys. Sure, unless someone takes the box, their employees access my house after hours, etc...It's the same situation as before except more people have access to my keys than before. OH, and every update they give us online are EXACTLY the same day after day after day. Clearly, my dogs do not pee and poop the same number of times weeks in a row. They continue to insist clients love all their changes and fail to acknowledge any decrease in service as a result. It's "my perception," which clearly doesn't matter and is dismissed as a minority view rather than at all validated. What was once a good business has taken a hit. UPDATE: NO phone calls. No responses from the Dog Butlers. Having now talked to friends, found out they've dropped Austin Dog Butler.

Their service is extremely efficient and the care the give your animal is top-quality. When you sign up,their team makes an initial visit for your dog to become acquainted with their new walker. Halfway through the year, the individual walking my dog changed and the process went very smoothly (the old walker even introduced the new walker to my dog so he would have a familiar face for the first introduction). I could not be more pleased with the service from Austin Dog Butler.

They took care of our fur babies when we lived downtown and gave us so much peace of mind when we traveled. Daily updates full of details and - most importantly - full of cat photos! (In fact, some of the photos I've gotten are so good, I've asked her team for advice on my own iphone camera settings!!!) The first time Jane took care of my cats was during the snowstorm of 2021 and she was very literally a life saver. We were supposed to be out of town for a long weekend so we asked my in-laws to stop in and check on them and we'd be back home before the storm came... Well if you were in Austin in February of 2021, you can imagine how that went down. Our flight home was cancelled even before the storm arrived, our family couldn't get downtown, we didn't know if the electricity would stick around or when we'd be back. The cats had food and water, but they've never been alone that long and who knew when we'd get back and what they could get into. I panicked. PANICKED! I couldn't get in touch with anyone in our building, I didn't know any of the neighbors. Finally I found a post Jane had made in a local group and I sent her a desperate note. She called me back so fast and made it her personal mission to track down our building's maintenance guy and get a key to my apartment. From that first call it was apparent that she was as worried about my cats as I was. And as I've gotten to know Jane, it's so plain to see that she truly loves every animal in her care. As do the people she chooses to work with. After that experience, we made sure to schedule with Jane and her team every time we traveled. If you're in downtown Austin and you're looking for a cat sitter, dog walker, or any other fur baby care, consider yourself lucky that you've come across See Jane Walk.

On top of that amount, I was charged $194.85. When I contacted Care.com about this charge, they reported that I selected a background check on the caregivers initiating that fee. I would never knowingly have selected a background check on their caregivers if the cost of $194.85 would be added to the already $149.59 charge to my card. When I contacted them, they made a blanket statement that they don't offer any refunds. Somewhere in their supposed fine print is a 3 day cancellation policy,... something else you don't readily see or know you should do. On top of these fees, you still pay premium pricing for the actual service! I wasn't able to secure a sitter for the dates I needed. All I received from Care.com is a very large bill!! I would give Care.com a negative 10 as a review on their scamming policies towards their new clients!!!!! I have to rate this company for my review to post. It is not an accurate rating, it was below "not good" When you try and rate care.com, it pulls up Pawstin, not the same company I'm reviewing.
