We used Karma Dog Training to get the basics down for our french bulldog - a breed that finally matched my level of stubbornness. Their 7-week series class was excellent. Given as a group, yet small enough to have some quality personal time with the trainer. Completing that class gave a good foundation not only for our frenchie, but also for us. Then came the cherry on top. Finding ourselves stuck without a place to board our frenchie during the holidays, I reached out to Karma Dog Training for recommendations. They said they have a boarding program which also uses that time to train the dog. We chose to go that route, and had our frenchie board with Donna Wasielewski - one of the Karma trainers. After getting the 'all clear' on space availability and temperament, Donna worked with us on where to focus the training. After meeting Donna and reviewing the plan, we felt like we had found the very best place to board our dog. But then gets even better... while we were on our trip, we received photos of our dog AND several videos *per day* of the training he was doing. We could see in near real time how much he was enjoying his stay, interacting with the other dogs, and refining his training. Once we returned, Donna reviewed the whole stay with us, and put our frenchie through the paces on what he had learned and improved upon. It was also the opportunity for us, the owners, to learn how to better handle the areas we needed to focus on, as well. Overall, I cannot recommend Karma Dog Training and Donna Wasielewski enough. Their philosophy and approach to dog training is wonderful. And it makes me feel so much better knowing that the next time I need to board my dog, there's a place that shows so much love and attention like Karma and Donna. read more

We LOVE Katie, our dog trainer/instructor for Karma!!! I can't thank her enough for all of her help with our labradoodle, Dak. We contacted Karma to look into their puppy kindergarten along with a home consultation. Upon our initial visit in our home, she gave us so much knowledge and instruction. She is always available by phone or text when you have a question that comes up. Our high energy pup attended the puppy kinder classes as well, which we found to be very helpful for socialization and for us to learn the basics (sit, down, come, etc). Ultimately, if you have a high energy pup, I HIGHLY recommend an at home session or two. So much can be accomplished at home and in your puppy's environment. Katie is so good at what she does. She had Dak coming and sitting in about 5 min! It was more training me and my family then Dak! We also hired Karma (Katie) to do board & train over spring break, for 10 days. Our main areas of concern were pulling on the leash BAD, coming when called (recall), and jumping on people. She got him walking like a pro! I'm pregnant and this was very important to me that he was able to walk beside me and not pull me, as he is growing into a big, strong pup and she did that. After he was returned home, Katie came back out a few more times to show me how to handle different situations, since after they come back from training they sometimes want to revert back to old habits but she helped me and he is an awesome dog! We adopted our sweet Elsa from APA and as first time puppy parents, we needed a major lesson in how to train and raise a pup. We found Karma Dog through a friend who had nothing but great things to say. Her pup is now 4 years old and is incredibly well behaved. Elsa just completed their 8-week puppy course and we liked it so much, we're starting basic obedience today. The classes are structured so the pup learns a new skill each time--and if you have to miss a class, the trainers will let you make it up so you don't miss an important one. I also can't stress how important the puppy playtime was in socializing Els. She comes home happy and completely wiped out. :) Every trainer we've met is really friendly and helpful--and can answer all kinds of questions about raising a puppy. I called Karma Dog Training looking to get my dog boarded Thanksgiving weekend (very last minute!). Donna called me back and said she had a spot available and began asking me some basic information on my dog. I told her he is a little fearful and cautious with strangers and other dogs. When I dropped him off at her house I could immediately tell that it was a great match. Donna's body language of basically ignoring him allowed him to relax much sooner than he usually does, as he wasn't nervous about her trying to touch him or talk to him (also an indication of Donna's experience and knowledge). He then dragged me into her house and began exploring instead of sticking to me, which was another good sign. When I went to pick him up he snuggling with Donna's mother, as I was told he had been doing all weekend. I could tell he had a great time and that there was no fear or anxiety as I often see when I pick him up from Petsmart. I really loved that it was uncrated boarding in a family setting where he felt immediately comfortable. We adopted a puppy a few months ago, with some neurological issues, and after a few weeks, we were at our wits end. We brought in trainer #1 from a different company and were less than delighted by their approach seeming lack of ability to deal with our current situation. They told us, "it won't be impossible, but you've got a long road ahead of you..." That was the last time we saw them. Enter Karma Dog Trainer Reed Morgan. Reed showed up at our door and instantly had our little boy behaving like a little angel. My wife and I were floored at his behavioral change while she was present and watched in amazement as she had him doing things immediately without our having knowledge that he could do them. As a single dog mom, board & train was a huge decision for me. The commitment to drop a month's rent on my dog's training was not one I made quickly. After talking with trainer Donna Wasielewski about my training options, I still didn't feel that I necessarily needed a drastic approach (such as board and train) to my dog's training. On the other hand, I knew that I didn't have enough time to commit to my dog's behavioral issues: Barking, door dashing, pulling on the leash, and not coming when called...among other things. He had a repertoire of basic commands but often times totally ignored my requests. Once I thought it over, I decided that it would be really nice to come home from a vacation and have my dog understand acceptable behavior. I must admit that a huge influence in my decision were my first few conversations with Donna. She didn't rush me or pressure me to commit to a training date. She seemed genuinely interested, knowledgable, and happy to help. Thus, I finally pulled the trigger and worked with Donna to narrow down my wish list of improvements to a realistic list of 4 things to accomplish in a 7 day period. During the 7 days I received texts, pictures, videos, and constant (but not overwhelming) updates of Huck's progress. The videos were really helpful because Donna explains her training process and you can go back to watch them if you need a reference. I came home and got to meet my "new" dog! Donna really got into Huck's stubborn head! He's a 1 year old Yorkie who earned the accolade of "one of the highest energy dogs I've ever trained". THE PICKUP: I will advise that you pick your dog up when you're fully rested, well-fed, and have a fresh brain to retain information. Donna is SO great at explaining things and often gives a lot of memorable metaphors that help you recall and understand the logic behind training. That being said, it's a lot of really dense material! I picked my dog up after a work day and didn't allow time to rest after traveling. I would recommend picking your dog up on a weekend if possible or a time when you're rested and ready to learn :) It's been almost 3 weeks since I picked up Huck and Donna and I have still been in communication to occasionally talk about his progress. She's been extremely helpful and encouraging! You can tell that Donna is truly passionate about her job and ultimately just wants to help you and your sidekick. She's one of those people that just has the dog whisperer aura about them! Huck is still fluent in 2 out of 4 of his board and train lessons. Even though 2 areas still need work, I have the skills and knowledge to keep him learning so he can eventually master the other 2 behavioral issues. He also has a basic understanding of what he should be doing, even if he doesn't master the skill every time. To summarize, I do not regret my decision to spend a month's rent on my dog's training. I researched multiple dog trainers and training centers before coming across Karma, and I was sold after my first call with Donna Wasielewski. Donna completed understood and offered everything I wanted to work on with my high-energy, full-of-enthusiasm 6-month old Australian Cattle dog puppy, Piper. After she mentioned how she has worked with and had success with a lot of rambunctious pups, I was dropping Piper off a couple days later. I enrolled Piper in a two-week board and train program with Donna. As much as I missed my pup during that time, I knew we both NEEDED it. The best part were the texts and emails I received from Donna nearly every day with updates and videos with her step-by-step training method and Piper's progress. When it came time to pick up Piper, I was astonished at how much progress had been made. My previously anxious and highly energetic dog that I could barely control before was now listening to commands and was able to calm herself down after a few moments. I am SO grateful for Karma that I'm not sure I'll be able to express my gratitude well enough. Recently, we needed a board & train arrangement for my 1 year old dog. The arrangement I had secured fell through a just few days before our week long departure. I came across Karma in a simple google search. We had a great experience with Karma Dog Training. We brought home two shelter dogs in January and wanted to make sure we got off on the right paw. The team responded quickly when we filled out the online form and they answered all of our questions about services and their approach to training. We purchased the combo package of three private lessons followed by group classes. Our trainer, Sara Merrell, was outstanding. We covered the basics, got some insights on our dogs behavior, and also had the opportunity to address our training goals and how we wanted to live with our new pups. Sara modeled the training behavior and gave us helpful feedback, and you can see how much she enjoys working with dogs (perhaps that isn't surprising, but it still made training that much more fun). Our dogs loved her, too. We are still attending the group classes, which reenforce much of what we learned in the private classes. It is a great way for or pups to get socialized. Sara has followed up since we completed our private lessons to make sure things are going well and to answer any questions. When I bought a new puppy, I was called out of state a few times and had NO ONE to look after my dog because none of the boarding places in Austin would accept a puppy that young. Karma is the only one who found a place for him. My dog LOVES boarding with Skye! (actually never wants to come home!). I can always count on her to take my dog when I have to go out of town last second due to my job. He has a lot of fun and I can tell he gets a lot of attention from her. Way better than sticking him in a petsmart kennel where they barely give him any attention. I also like the socialization classes. My dog has a great time getting to know other people and loves the puppy play time. I will definitively be signing him up for more training classes once he gets older. Oh and if you miss any classes, they are more than happy to let you make them up. They are very flexible and understanding. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this organization! I started my dog, Hank, in puppy kindergarten at one location and some things happened in life that we just stopped going for a while. By the time I was ready to resume classes, Hank was too big for puppy kindergarten, so Karma let me start classes all over (without paying anything more) at a new location for Basic Obedience. Katie and Kate were phenomenal trainers. Not only are they seasoned and so respected by every dog, they are good about offering personalized advice and being available beyond the classroom. I had a few bad experiences with a daycare and grooming facility that told me my dog had some serious issues, and Katie paid special attention to him to identify that he wasn't the issue. We signed up for Puppy Kindergarten Class for our 5 months old Golden Doodle with Sara Merrell at Dogtopia in Lakeway. We learned a lot in the class and our dog enjoy the social interaction with other dogs at the beginning of the class, at the end of the class our dog always tired out and we are able to communicate & better of training Himalayas home. Our dog has a fear of walking on the street so we asked Sara to help us with getting him go a bit further than end of our driveway. Our dog make tremendous progress on the first day with Sara urged him on & showing how fun it is to go for a walk. It is still in progress in getting him out on my own but to Sara credit, her love of dogs show in her training and she able to express that enthusiasm and help our puppy to feel a bit nervous walking a bit further out of our driveway. I would highly recommend Sara class for training & socialize your puppy. read more

I'm a first-time dog owner, so when I rescued my puppy from APA I enrolled in the puppy kindergarten course offered by Karma Dog Training. He's a medium-to-high-energy lab-mix, so the puppy class was a really great balance for us in terms of learning to focus in distracting settings and also getting in some socialization/play time. We had Jennifer Burns as our instructor, and LOVED her. She was so enthusiastic and patient in helping us work through any issues we were having. Even though the classes are in a group format, the trainers do a really great job of ensuring each puppy gets individualized attention - this kind of structure helped us get the most out of every lesson. The techniques I learned in class have helped me to communicate better with my puppy, which has made a HUGE difference in our ongoing training. As a first time dog owner in 7 years, the family and i made a very serious decision and step when we decided to add our new family member to our "pack". Her name is Elsa and we got her just after 6 weeks old from the Austin Humane Society(Elsa arrived an hour before we got there). In our decision process of having a pet, we decided we wanted her to get the best medical care, the best toys, the best equipment, as well as the best training. The problem was that many professionals will say a puppys training and socialization is crucial from 8 to 16 weeks but many vets advise against taking your puppy outdoors until the rabies vaccination(3 months). With this conflicting information we didn't know who was right so when we began our search for socialization classes and to begin training, we wanted our puppy's health taken into account. After thorough research I found Karma Dog training. What won me over from the beginning was it was one of the ONLY places in Austin that offers puppy classes with parvo disinfected classrooms. This tells me they take the health of our friend seriously not to mention that after looking at other classes at different facilities including petsmart and petco, what Karma teaches as a bundled deal is more extensive than that of other competitors( they all offer the same training with the exception that you will have to pay for multiple weeks long classes and spend more time and money learning what Karma focuses on in their curriculum in one 8 week coarse). These include sit, stay, come, go to bed, loose leash walking, down, and leave it. Armed with this information we attended our classes and i have to say that we do not regret it one bit! Our trainer Jennifer Burns and assistant Uyen-anh are amazing! Not just because they taught us how to be more effective in our learning and training of our puppy but because when you are in their presence their is a genuine interest in what they do and they show it every class. Moments when i felt overwhelmed and thought i couldn't do it, they kept me motivated and are very nurturing in assisting you to get the best out of your training. Some things they have helped with and focused on besides curriculum thoroughout the coarse including discussions and scenarios with bite inhibition, housebreaking, how children should handle your pets, scenarios to encounter when the puppies are overly excited or distracted, as well as puppy relaxation exercises that allow your pet to be more comfortable with general handling and touching all over the body. Ultimately i know the responsibility as a dog owner is up to me to continue to enforce the positive methods of training to my puppy, and for this i am thankful beyond words to have met Jennifer and for her guidance because without her i wouldn't have seen the results and im positive my methods would have been mediocre attempts. Lastly, as with any other commitment in life, just like the Vet we chose for our Elsa, we decided that continuing education for Elsa would be best for her and anticipate training for the first year of her life! So that means i will see you next week at class Jenn!!! Thank you! We had a great experience with dog training through Karma! Our trainer was Donna Wasielewski and we did board and train while we were on vacation for a week, so our pup Eli was with her for 8 nights. Even with the limited time, we were super pleased with the results. The training model is positive-only reinforcement which takes more time and patience (at least in my opinion!) but we were impressed with how excited Eli was to do what he was told after being with Donna for a week. Just coming when called is so cute to watch now - he is SO excited to come and comes flying every time. The training is definitely an investment but one we are super happy we made! Donna was also great about updating us on his progress, sending us tips and tricks, pictures and videos so even though we missed him, we felt very up to date and loved seeing how well he was doing. read more

We did a board and train with Donna Wasielewski and it was such a wonderful experience. She was good at helping me decide on target behaviors to address and offered many suggestions on what we could do at home before our training even began. During the board and train we received videos and photos so that we could see our sweet girl while she was gone, but also so we could see how donna did the training and her progress. During pick up we had an in depth private lesson and she also came by our house an additional time to help with the transition home. We used Sara Merrell as our dog trainer at Karma Dog and she is amazing both in a class setting and in coming privately to our home to train our puppy lab. Finley has learned so many commands and has learned to behave so well with all of the training Sara has trained her and us as well. She went from a puppy with ADD and all over the place to a puppy who is such an obedient puppy that listens and understands what we ask of her. We are having and have had some truly wonderful experiences using Karma. We have absolutely loved our dog trainers, Ashley and Uyen Anh! We have also had terrific class instructors for Puppy Kindergarten Classes and are excited about starting our next class series Basic Communication Level 1! This is a lengthy review! Prior to bringing Sophie, our mini Aussie puppy, home I had researched various dog training programs/classes offered in Austin for puppies. I knew I wanted to get started right away training her (and me!) and socializing her. I was attracted to the positive training techniques used by Karma and their overall training/teaching philosophy. It was important to us that we could fully participate in the training for Sophie and be with other puppies and their families during the classes. We started Sophie, who is now 5 months old, with a package of private training sessions with Ashley and Puppy Kindergarten Classes. We had Ashley come to the house literally the day after we brought Sophie home when she was 8 weeks old! Ashley taught us so much on just getting started with Sophie, potty training her and so many other helpful tips to help her adjust after leaving her brothers and sisters. We continue to use Ashley for private training sessions to help us stay on track, be consistent with our training, and to advance our training . We have also been fortunate to have Ashley as one of the Puppy Kindergarten instructors - Sophie adores her! We decided to use the Reverse Board & Train Program for Sophie for 5 nights while we were away on a trip to Oregon in September. Because Ashley was unavailable, we were introduced to Uyen-Anh. Uyen-Anh came to our house to meet us and do a consult and we knew she would also be a great fit for Sophie and for us! Since we were boarding/training for 5 nights, Uyen-Anh let us know that we would also receive a private follow-up training session with her and unlimited classes for 6 months which was awesome! While we were away, Uyen-Anh would send detailed emails and videos/pictures daily to talk about Sophie's day, their training, tips for us, and videos showing some of the training and also just cute pics of Sophie for fun. After our private follow-up session, she sent me detailed notes/tips/training techniques which were so helpful. I was amazed at how thorough Uyen-Anh was with her training of Sophie and her communication and detailed notes with us were remarkable. Again, another trainer for Sophie to adore! What I have learned, and it has been so valuable, is that Sophie is ready, willing and excited to learn and to please. It is up to us to provide the consistency, follow through, and continued training for her and honestly, it doesn't take much. Basically, I am the one needing the training! We had Donna Wasielewski as our trainer, and we did 7 days of board and train for our dog Emma. She is a 5 year old Jack Russell mix and can be very high strung while on the leash. We are very pleased with the progress Donna made with Emma's leash skills. Before training she would wear a harness while on the leash and was pulling on it the entire time we would walk. She is also very reactive to strangers of the human and canine variety. After training she has much better leash skills and has made great progress with the reactivity, and no longer wears the harness. We thought there would be no way that she would be receptive to the training but we are very happy to say she has learned a lot! Thank you Donna! read more

She boarded her at her home for 1 week, and in that time, was able to teach her to lay down, go to kennel on command, she taught her the"leave it" command, and more. We love Karma Dog Training! We have a very energetic Ridgeback/Catahoula puppy (he's almost two years old and definitely still a puppy!) and we love the board-and-train option for when we go on vacation. We've always had good experiences in the past but then a couple weeks ago the team really went above and beyond. We had a last-minute change of plans and Jeff (the owner) connected us with Donna, was able to help us out and was awesome to work with. Our pup had a great time playing in her huge backyard and she made progress with him over just a few days. When we picked him up she gave us some strategies to work on to help manage his anxiety and triggers on walks. We had an excellent experience with Karma Dog Training, specifically the phenomenal Donna Wasielewski who does Board & Train (B&T). We had a new ~10 week old puppy with some specific challenges and knew we needed some professional, and intensive, training. After searching, reading many, many reviews, and talking with a few trainers we felt the most comfortable and confident in Karma and Donna. While other trainers offered a brief "evaluation" prior to training, Donna dedicated quite a bit of time to us pre-training discussing our pup's issues and our concerns with both me and my wife. She had great input, referenced examples in per past (and vast!) experience, and worked with us to set realistic goals for the B&T period. We were leaving for our trip in about a week, but some things came up that pushed us to move the start date up a day. Although Donna had just landed at the airport back in town, she quickly responded and accommodated us which was extremely helpful to our schedule. When we met Donna in person to drop our pup off, she was just as outgoing and personable as she was on the phone. She immediately started assessing what she saw in the first few minutes, and put us at ease to leave our new guy with her for an extended period. During our pup's 2 week B&T stay Donna was fantastic! We asked for regular updates and we received at least a couple of texts along with videos or pictures on a daily basis. It was obvious our pup was in great and caring hands. We were able to see his progress over the course of training and able to respond to her when she had any questions or when we had questions for her. Two weeks is a while to be away from any furry family member, especially a new one, but we were connected each day through Donna. We were also able to schedule a visit in the middle of training to get to see him and what progress he'd made. Donna showed us some of the things he'd learned and he had clear progress in some areas. On pick-up day our pup ran out excitedly to meet us and Donna spent quality time walking us through where he was on all goals we had set, where he was still having challenges (not due to any lack of effort on her part; he has some on-going and unique issues), how to continue working with him when we got home, and event sent us with a couple of items we could use to help when needed. Post-training, Donna has been available and responsive to our questions and concerns with our pup's special challenges and we've even scheduled a follow up private session with her. We cannot say enough great things about Donna! We recommend her whole-heatedly and plan to start the weekly puppy training classes offered around town very soon. I found out about Karma Dog Training's Board and Train program through friends who go to the puppy socialization classes. I'm a typical crazy dog mom so I am very picky about where I leave my 8 month old pup, Winston. Once I filled out the online form, Jeff contacted me within two hours and managed to pair me up with a dog trainer, Erin Dunlavy. From the start Erin was amazing! Erin is so genuine and sweet and it was easy to tell that she loves what she's doing. She arranged a consultation visit with me and Winston months prior to Winston's drop off date. Winston loved her from the start and you could immediately tell that she was an experienced trainer. Erin took her time going over her training methods and what a typical day would be like for Winston. She was very patient with my questions and I felt very comfortable leaving my furbaby with her after our consultation. I knew without a doubt that he would be in the very best hands! While I was away, Erin sent me daily updates with pictures and videos of Winston and how he was doing. It was my first time away from Winston so it was a huge reassurance that Winston was having a good time. At pick up, Erin spent an hour going over areas of training that Winston still needed more work with at home. Her explanations were thorough and easy to understand. She would first demonstrate how she trained Winston and then ask me to do it so that she could correct me so I could do it at my own home without her.The next day, Erin sent me hand outs to help me train Winston on my own. Erin is an amazing trainer and I highly recommend her especially to fellow anxious dog parents! You can tell Winston really respects Erin and that she treated my baby with the utmost care and love. Winston has learned so much these past 8 days and she has laid us a strong foundation for future training. I was blown away by how much Winston learned in such a short amount of time. I was having several issues with Piper, my 11 month old Maltipoo. I just couldn't get her potty trained and several other issues that I didn't know how to handle. I e-mailed Karma Dog Training and immediately got a response and was given Donna Wasielewski's name. When I dropped Piper off at Donna's house for the Board and Train Service, I knew Piper would be in good hands. It amazes me how quickly Donna potty trained Piper plus basic manners. Before I was having problems with Titan jumping on me and going through this bad biting fits and I wanted to limit this because I just recently tore my ACL and I am having surgery soon. She worked so well with him and he loved her! She also taught me how to deal with his behavior and he has improved so much. He can now knows "sit" and "down" and "up" on his couch without me doing the hand signals. I had the Reverse Board and Train and it was the best idea. He learned the commands in his own home so he knew how to react when I did it to him. Overall an amazing experience! Recommend to everyone. read more

My little rescue rascal has been a handful. Most of his issues were not known, of course, so it was a stressful first month with him. Since I had to leave for a week, I knew I had to put him in a some type of training program and with so many great reviews (and word-of-mouth) about Karma, I signed up right away. Donna Wasielewski got the challenging job of taking on my dog and she did an amazing job! I got photos and videos of him daily, and he seemed very happy (he's a serious tail wagger). When I returned, Donna updated and trained me on how to keep his training going. It's not the cheapest board & train program, but anyone with a rescue dog with some issues, knows how valuable it is to find a great and trust-worthy place! We have had a very successful experience with Uyen-Ann and Karma Dog Training. Uyen-Anh taught our four month old corgi Rosie all of the main commands in five days, plus we were able to participate and learn the basics of how to train and positively encourage Rosie to continue to exceed and learn more. Uyen-Ann has a very gently method, and our puppy loved her from the get-go and was very willing to learn an learn and learn! Uyen-Anh Dang was incredible with my dogs. We did overnight Reverse Board and Train for 10 days. When we got home we could not believe the difference in our dogs behavior. Donna Wasielewski delivered a different dog back to our house after 7 days of boarding and training. My 3 kids and I affectionately called her "Terribus Labus" - her scientific name :) - due to the incessant biting and jumping on people. We all agreed the name no longer fit as our 7 month old Lab returned to us as a calmer, more respectful, manner-using dog. We continue to use the tips she gave us and believe Donna set forth a positive momentum for us to feel that we might actually have control over the wild impulses of a very strong young dog around children aged 4, 6, and 8. Loved loved loved Karma Dog Training. We used them for our 9 month old mini Aussie when we went on our yearly vacay for about 10 days. She was supposed to work on responding to commands, being better on leash, and really listening to us (she is in her naughty teenage phase). She came back a new dog! While she has always been super sweet, she now listens so well and obviously enjoys the training so we do it with her more often! Donna was great, and when she came over to give us our free lesson, it was obvious that even during the brief time that our little girl was visiting, they developed a great connection. I would definitely recommend Karma Dog and we plan on boarding our little lady there during the next trip. =) read more

Erin Dunlavy!!!!!! Best experience and exceeded all expectations. We did a board and train on our Siberian husky puppy and Erin was amazing. She addressed our puppies impulse control issues and made sure she was on target for her good citizen certification in the future. She is a different dog than she was before training and we could not be more pleased with her progress. Not only did we love working with Erin, but our puppy did as well. Erin came over for a follow up session nod was greeted with so much excitement from our puppy. So good to know what a great environment she provided for training. Love everything about these guys! We brought home a decently anxious/fearful puppy last year. We signed up for the puppy socialization classes because we knew he was gonna need some extra help. They really helped him come out of his shell in a safe way. A few months down the road he started to develop an issue with barking at everyone we would pass on the street again due to his timid nature. I was really worried if we didn't help him gain some confidence he could become aggressive. We'd already tried a lot of things and had spent a lot of time trying to socialize him, so I didn't know what to do. We scheduled some one on one training with one of the trainers Sara Merrell and saw wonderful results. After a few sessions and is continuing with the training techniques for a few months he wasn't barking at people anymore and seemed so much more comfortable. Almost a year later and he has become a very well adjusted dog. So thankful! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when I took the plunge and signed my almost 3 year old chiweenie, Lola, up for an 8 day long board and train with Donna Wasielewski, but could not have been happier with the results! From day 1, Donna sent me tons of pictures and videos documenting Lola's progress as she learned everything from basics ("sit"), to the more advanced stuff (not bolting out the front door when opened. By the time I went to Donna's house to pick up Lola at the end of her stay, I was prepared with a basic overview of the commands and tricks of the trade I would need to use to reinforce the training on my own. But then, Donna gave me an extensive private lesson to train me. Before we left Donna's home, I had successfully guided Lola through repeating the same lessons that Donna made look so easy in the videos. Basically, she did the hard part for me and then I stepped in and continued what she had already set up. Plus, I now can take Lola to free group lessons to help her keep practicing and learning new skills. It's not cheap, but if you're on the fence, it's something that I believe will definitely pay off in the long run! read more

We just recently completed our board & training program with Karma Dog Training. We checked reviews and contacted several training programs before we made the decision to go this route. There were several items we were looking for and after our phone consultation with Jeffrey, we knew we were headed in the right direction. Our trainer, Donna Wasielewski, is incredible. Not only did we find that she was on the same page as us, Donna has a true and natural talent, so her training model comes very naturally to your pet. Donna trains with positive only reinforcement, which is exactly what our sweet Hoss needed. The information she provided before we dropped him off was very informative. Donna sent us pictures and videos daily as she was training Hoss, which is extremely helpful when you want to look back to make sure you aren't missing anything on your end of the training. One of the things that was very important to us was that Hoss wouldn't lose any of his personality or "puppiness" due to intense training. He is still the same lovable, fun puppy, only better now! He knows to look for our response, which is wonderful for all of us, including him. Hoss had such a great time with her that when I play the videos Donna sent, he runs around the house looking for her when he hears her voice! We are very happy with Hoss's training and would recommend Donna to anyone who is thinking about training. She is the BEST! read more

I have a 6 mo. Male Yorkie which needed potty training. Before taking him to Donna Wasielewski, he thought outside was for play time and inside was for potty. This became a serious issue because at times he would miss the pad and #1 or #2 would get on the tile. Also, attempted many times to stand outside to watch him potty so I can reward him, but unfortunately it never happened and got tired of standing outside for 20+ minutes. After searching around, I came across Yelp and read the great reviews of Donna so I decided to call to discuss the various plans available. After the call, I was set on the 5 day bordering at her house. She was good on daily updates and videos on the progress. At the end of 5 days, she summarized the whole training program which I needed to follow. When he got home he was ringing the bell hanging on the door knob and when he went outside he was able to do #1 or #2 or both right away. One day, after a leash pulling, jumping, pooping in the street, and most of all, frustrating walk with my dog, I decided I needed reinforcements. I did a lot of research on trainers in my area but most of the places I found implemented shock collars or had dogs staying in kennels when they weren't being trained. I came across Karma Dog Training and I submitted a form online. Within an hour I had received a personal email and phone call from the owner asking how I could be assisted. I was WOW-ed already! I explained my 7 month old puppy was a terror and I needed help training him. I already had in mind that I wanted to do "board and train" but he really grilled me to make sure that's what I wanted. "Would Cooper be comfortable with that?" I could tell he really cared about me and my dog. I thought about it and he sent me the pricing list, which was nice to see upfront. It was a financial commitment, but still less expensive than competitors I had researched. So I said let's do it! The following day I got a phone call from our new BFF Erin Dunlavy. She has the voice of an angel and I immediately felt at ease trusting her with my dog. We spoke on the phone for a long time and she asked me thoughtful questions. We reached a couple of goals for Coopers stay. When I dropped him off at her house she continued to make me feel comfortable. She talked me through everything once more and Cooper was very excited to be there! I left feeling confident and reassured. Through out Coopers stay with Erin I received daily texts and videos. My boyfriend and I joked that she had found a stunt double and Cooper was hiding off the camera. But when it was time to pick him up we found that it was real! Cooper had turned into a little gentleman! His leash skills were wonderful, he knows to "leave it", he actually comes when I call him and so many other helpful skills. I have a sweet but extremely nervous and protective mini dachshund named Dr. Bosley. Dr. B is 8 years old and I had just gotten to a point where I tolerated his leash aggression, always checking to make sure there was no one in the front yard before taking him out at my condo. I rarely walked him, frustrated by his interest in attacking squirrels, strollers, bicycles, motorcycles, cats, and other dogs. I've done only two sessions with Reed Morgan and Dr. B. has become an absolute dream to take around. She helped me to recognize his triggers and anticipate them. We also did a session where we introduced Boz to Reed's dog Argus so I could learn how to help Boz make friends. This next session we are going to coordinate with some of the other dogs in my condo to help B have even more friends. We are a first time dog owner and adopted a very sweet and smart but energetic dog. We decided to get with a dog trainer to get a handle on her energy and follow our commands. After review of a few websites and meetings with other dog trainers we found Karma dog training and Donna Wasielewski to train our dog for one week while we go on vacation. It was amazing to observe the transformation Bella showed after just this one week. What was very helpful also was getting the insight from Donna during introduction and the private lesson after the training to look for cues, body language and other signals from the dog before performing a training exercise. Donna was the perfect match to our dog because of her calmness, giving the right commands and instructing us on how to continue to work with Bella.
