Ivan with the trainers during the day

I've been doing doggy daycare for some time, but decided to do the two week board and train program. I absolutely loved working with Loren the main trainer. She's is so sweet, knowledgeable and my dog responds so well. He was taken very good care of! The training is really great - I have the tools to continue to train and work at home. He's listening so well and I'm excited to take him out more.

We love bringing our boy here for boarding when we're gone for a trip! Any of the Taurus locations are great, but Burnet has amazing service. I love that they offer grooming services too, we got a full groom added on and Alana did an amazing job with the haircut. The staff here is super communicative and my dog happily trots inside when we drop him off. It's a great peace of mind knowing he's well taken care of.

Literal tears. Biscotti has done a few "board and trains" at Taurus and we think it's a great value. The extra attention is honestly what we're paying for and being a better dog is just a bonus. The board and train comes with three "in home" visits after you do the boarding and we were most recently with trainer Loren. (Love her!) Well after our visit, our pup came down with IVDD (degenerative disease) which was emotionally devastating. Going from being a spry pup to not being able to use her hind legs overnight ... it's a doozy. She went into emergency surgery over at AVES and it looks like she'll make a major, if not full, recovery. While Biscotti was recovering we had to cancel our training appointment. Soon after we received the sweetest "get well soon" card from everyone at Taurus Burnet. During some of our darkest days, a simple card was a shining beacon of joy and goodness. The messages were super sweet and we all cried big alligator tears (a few times). It wasn't expected, wasn't required, but personal touches like that really make a big difference. Taurus will forever be our first call when it comes to puppy care.

    Ball time!

Just going to pop in and obnoxiously love on our friends at Taurus again. Lightning Bug stayed with them again this Easter, and they now offer the opportunity for boarding dogs to purchase some one-on-one time with balls or games of tug. It was a hard trip, and getting a little report card about how much our dog loved ball time (I know) and tug time (oh gosh) just made me feel so grateful to have Taurus on our team. Knowing that there's someone praising, loving, and caring for him when we have to be away is everything. Also, I too would describe his demeanor as "whooo-hooo."

Taurus loves our pup Izzy! We brought her to Taurus to get her some healthy structured socialization. Their positive approach in training has made a world of difference. We are now play day members and Izzy has become a different dog for the best. -Charlene

After boarding our dog here for three nights, I went to go pick him up to bring him home. Only after asking the gal at the front desk how he did for the weekend she let me know he had given himself a pretty big gash from "flipping up his dog bowl" and asked assumingely if he did this at home as well. After I told her no, he definitely did not, and she suggested he needed medication to be boarded. We have boarded our dog at other places such as The Pet Ranch and he has never had this issue and he always comes safe and happy. We are so sad we picked up our sweet energetic dog with such a wound. We won't be returning here again.

Training exercise-The Burnet crew took our puppy Biscotti to Tomlinson's and got this disciplined footage.

Reason for this review: There's obviously a lot of trust involved in letting people take care of your pets and access your home. We have 100% confidence in Melissa and her team and want to share our experience because - when we were looking for long-term pet sitting - we didn't have any recommendations to help us. Five-star details: 1. Outstanding Communications. Melissa is always available, including by phone, text, and email. She does what she says she is going to do. We've spoken on the phone & Melissa has a great app which gives you updates and photos of your pet! 2. Genuine Caring. On our most recent trip, the weather got cold. Melissa's team members worked with us to turn on our well heater, ensure our pup was kept warm and cozy, and gave us detailed updates and photos. 3. Going Above & Beyond. Melissa called me about the cold weather to alert us in case we didn't know it was going to be below freezing and to ensure our pet was fully taken care of. Her team actually plays with your pet, spends real quality time, and ensures your pet feels loved. They brought our dog extra treats which was incredibly thoughtful because our dog is a senior citizen - and they actually know about dogs so they brought treats that are great for his health as well as being yummy!

I was very worried as I haven't left them for more than a couple days with anyone before. They had me leave the dogs for a daycare for a few hours free of charge to see if they would get along with the other pups and they did great! We're so lucky to have them so close to home! They really took great care of our dogs and they got lots of play time with other pups. The price was also very competitive. I 100% recommend them and I hope you don't waste your time and/or money with some of the price gouging facilities that don't actually care for your dog. This review is only based off of my experience/ first impressions and this business may work amazingly for your dog! Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

And I then had to spend hours washing everything on my bed, getting Urine Destroyer, etc... really not ideal after getting home from a trip. This is in addition to lights being left on, pill pocket pack not sealed after use, and litter and garbage preferences not followed. Also, I would have preferred they contacted me when my cat decided not to eat his medicine the first day, than to decide how to handle it on their own, although their idea wasn't a bad one. They are perfectly nice people but I would say that if your cat requires anything beyond basic care (throw food in a bowl and scoop box), look elsewhere. Details and communication are important. I communicated some of this to the company and they offered me a free visit in the future, which I thought was a bit presumptuous. They left our Patio balcony door- we live on the third floor in an apartment WIDE open with our cat who can clearly open the screen door that was slightly open. That is SO dangerous. We have a ragdoll who don't have much reflexes and he could fall and die from such a height, or even escape or jump out and seriously injure himself. They left the door open and left the keys inside with no way to get back in while we were on vacation. Then we got one text saying they left this door open and we were shocked when we checked our pet camera. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. The only apology we got from this horrendous accident was "i apologize." She didn't call once, and if we hadn't seen this text message promptly i feel as though she wouldn't even have cared and went on their day. DO NOT TRUST YOUR BELOVED PET WITH THESE PEOPLE. You've been warned!!! This was over memorial day weekend and nobody was even in the leasing office to help which is super scary. Bad experience overall from a pet sitting company we've been trusting for awhile now which is so disappointing. I can see now they don't care about pets.
