My furbaby Laila doesn't need grooming often, so we tend to hop around trying new grooming spots. I happened to see an ad (50% off for new clients in March -hurry!!) on Instagram and thought we'd give it a try. I am fairly familiar with Dogtopia but never knew they offered grooming as well! Booking was pretty easy, I was able to communicate with the staff over text. Sent over Laila's vet records and scheduled my day. I was asked if I could push my time from noon to 2pm but it wasn't a big inconvenience. I am very pleased with our service. It took about an hour and half. We were greeted at the door by the staff. Evie our groomer, was our front and introduced herself (to me and Laila ) She asked what I was hoping for Laila's cut and any other needs she may have. And she looks too cute! Dogtopia has done wonders for my dog!! The people who work here are extremely caring and super friendly. I have taken my dog to other daycares before and he would shake and make me pull him in but once I took him to dogtopia he gets so excited and runs in without looking back! The people here are very kind and I believe are truly doing their best given the circumstances. We really enjoyed taking our dog here when he was a puppy and in the Toybox room. However, as he got larger he was moved to the Romper room and we had to stop taking him. Dogtopia simply has way too many dogs under their care. On a busy day you can expect your dog to be in a room with 20-30 other dogs and many times with only one coach in the room. It is impossible for them to keep an eye on all the dogs. Our dog was jumped on and harassed by dogs twice his size many times and the coach was nowhere around to intervene. Even after asking the staff to please keep an eye on him this continued. We simply could no longer trust the coaches to keep an eye on the overwhelming number of dogs they have in their facility. This also results in your dog coming home VERY dirty and smelly. It's also worth noting that our dog got sick several times after coming to daycare here. After talking to other dog parents who were customers here we found this to be more common than we were comfortable with. I would advise pet parents to look for other daycare options that have smaller class sizes. Our pup is much happier at his new daycare and no longer comes home needing an immediate bath. I never have left a review but this place is the most terrible excuse for a dog daycare/boarding service I've ever experienced. My white colleagues and their dogs get accepted for every request but for my dog who me (asian) and my roommate (black) drop off always get rejected. We literally all sit at the same place together and use the app to book daycare for our dogs and out of all my friends, only my dog gets rejected. Then when I call in to book instead of the app, I might get lucky and get a front desk person who accepts my dog. But then when I bring him in for daycare, he is always put into timeout and he comes home with scratches/scars. I paid for 10 sessions to be able to be used whenever - early on I could book whenever but after they got their new coordinator or whoever, I've been rejected every time up to a point where I had to beg them to book my last few sessions. Even at those sessions, both my roommate and I watch the cam to make sure my dog is behaving. We come to find out that other dogs are provoking him and biting him yet, instead of being transparent, they blame my dog for being "too much" and throw him into time out. They even lost my dog's collar once and tried to blame me. This place is unacceptable and needs to be shut down. read more

Dogtopia is truly top notch! The staff are all SO friendly, professional, and informative. Piper has a blast here and comes home actually calm and tired which is saying a lot for a 1 year old boxer that has 1000000% energy all the time. I'm really pleased that they recognized she will never stop to take a break, so sometimes you need to put her up and let her breathe for a few minutes. Still, she played most all day and had a blast. I love being able to watch the webcams to check in on her. Its obvious the staff really knows what they are doing, and they handle the dogs really well. We used to go to another daycare but it was so much more kennel time and not enough play time for her. We finally met our daycare match and will be long time clients now. Dogtopia has been a lifesaver. My pup Henry loves other dogs and can get bored at home while I'm working. I take him to Dogtopia in the afternoons for half days almost every work day and he comes home so happy and tired. I love getting to check in with him on the cameras as well and see him with his dog friends. The dog supervisors even indulge his constant need to push himself between their legs for butt scratches. I love their flexible membership options that allow for me to spend my mornings with him and take him to "school" in the afternoons for socialization and playtime. My wife and I have been looking for a doggy daycare to help socialize our shy COVID puppy, Koko. From our first stop in, we have been blown away by this location. The staff was amazingly welcoming and so very patient with our nervous girl. They regularly text us with updates when she starts to socialize. They have our family's appreciation and business for the foreseeable future. As mentioned by other reviewers, the rates are extremely reasonable. They even offer a few package deals where you pre-pay for 1, 2, or unlimited days per week. These packages also offer discounts on other services offered at this location. I absolutely love the app, the process for requesting daycare, boarding, or spa services. It's super easy and streamlined. I wish there was an option to "manage membership" or something like that, but that would just be icing on the cake. The app is very stable and I love being able to pull up the camera and check on my girl whenever I want. It seems like the workers really care about the dogs they are looking after. In my experience, they do a good job of letting dogs play while knowing when to step in and put a dog in time-out to re-establish its chill. We have not yet used the boarding services, but plan to do so soon! read more

Update: I wrote my original review of Dogtopia around 2 years ago. I was beyond happy with price and quality. However, in that two years, the price has gone up significantly while the quality and flexibility have decreased. I mentioned the ability to do half days. That has changed. I believe you can't do half days on the weekends or may be at all. I didn't mention, but enjoyed, the class pack options. That has changed. Now it's only memberships or drop-in. I mentioned that the 2 hours of naptime wasn't included in the 5 hours of half-day play. That has changed. When half days still existed (and they may still but I'm not sure) the 2 hours of nap were considered part of the half-day. With my pass, it used to be I believe $25 for a full day and $12.50 for a half day. That has changed. It's now $40 for a full weekday. BTW these price increases have happened again and again over time, not just due to inflation. I 100% understand that businesses need to make money and that often involves increasing prices. However, they've been taking in far more dogs than they used to and it's decreased the overall experience for my dog and my comfort level with leaving her there. As a customer, the competition is the free dog park behind our apartment or brining her to a friend's house to let the two doggos run around in her backyard. When I was paying $12.50 for a half day or $25 for a full day, it was easy enough to justify but $40 is just not worth it when I have some free options. read more

I wanted to love this place so much especially since the location is great and the staff is really nice. However, after two visits (gave them a second chance), I am unfortunately done with Dogtopia. First of all, walking into it, the place is FILLED with hair - it smells awful. The first time they botched an easy doodle groom (I have a 30 pound cockapoo), and the second try was so much more disappointing. I got my dog back the other day and he was what I'm calling 'super botched.' His private parts were nicked and had an open cut, his ears were NASTY, and his eyelashes were shaved on only one side. I'm sure it's an 'over site' - and I say this with the assumption that times might be trying - but man alive, my dog is SO uncomfortable - itching, licking the wounds, shaking his head constantly for his ears, etc. What did I pay for TWICE? That is on me - I went back thinking the first time was a fluke. Please be mindful about this place, as it might not fit your need(s). I will say it again - the staff is sweet, but when they might not know what they're doing, sweet can only go so far.... read more

Our german shorthaired pointer LOVES Dogtopia. This is one of the few places in Austin that actually allows your pet to run and interact with other dogs ALL day rather than paying someone to put your dog in a crate (aka all the other places). This has been amazing as our GSP comes back tired and ready for a LONG nap after being here all day. Drop off and pick up is super easy, payment can be kept on file making it even quicker to pick up your fur child. We have had our dog's nails clipped here and no issues and even easier for the times that we drop him off. Boarding is also very easy with the ability to book through the mobile app on our phone! This place is a complete joke! We waited three weeks for a meet and greet. They sent me text after text about needing to complete more paperwork or they would cancel the meet and greet (both of our dogs get groomed there-- they have our profile and records on file). Our Dogsitter took our doodle there today for the much anticipated meet and greet. They arrived at 9a for a 9:30 appt. Sorry to be early. They sent her away. She headed back there for 9:30 appt. At 9:34 Dogtopia texted me that if she's not there in 5 mins they would cancel her meet and greet. Apparently our dog was stressed and lunged at another dog when she got there (totally get it that this isn't cool or acceptable). They sent her away and recommended that we get her another "1-2 months of socialization " However, when you have 40+ dogs in an enclosed space, maybe you could give her a minute to acclimate. Our doodle has been going to dog parks, daycares, playdates etc for 3.5 years of her 4 year life. She has been a regular at Jackie's Play and Stay multiple times a week for over a year. Think twice! Their space is way too small for the number of dogs they take in. The webcam showed a modest sized room (the "romper room") with around 30 dogs in it and one or two human coaches at any given time. I checked in throughout the day during our pup's first couple of days at Dogtopia and every time, most of the dogs were just milling around. A couple might be playing with each other, but most just looked bored, my pup included. The reason they're getting one star from me, however, is that they are not attentive enough to keep the dogs safe. At our last stay with Dogtopia, our dog and another got into a fight, and the other dog had to be taken to the vet. This is not normal behavior from my dog. We've had her for three years. She goes to our neighborhood off leash dog park multiple times per week and (pre-pandemic) Yard Bar about once every other week. She is very social, with dogs and with people. However, she also tends to be submissive while playing, so sometimes a more aggressive dog will aggravate her and she will snarl and snap at them to let them know she's not amused. It's super obvious when it happens and we have never even gotten close to her having an incident like this with another dog. It just requires someone to be watching and to pull one of the dogs away to calm down. Despite being a doggy daycare, Dogtopia doesn't have enough staff to actually watch the dogs they care for. In retrospect, it this was obvious. When picking our dog up, we asked if she had been having fun since she looked bored on the webcam. Every time, they told us she was having a blast and just resting between play sessions. Now, it's clear to me that they had no idea what she was up to. And a fight breaking out is the consequence of that. Edit: I'm not sure why the owner replied and mentioned the food and toys policy. We never brought any food or toys with us, nor does our dog need them to have fun. As for their "no scuffles" policy, I guess they need something like that because they aren't staffed enough to supervise the dogs. read more

My dog has been going for 3ish months now and he and I absolutely love it. The building is top notch with indoor and outdoor ac so the dogs can stay cool when it's too hot outside. They throw little events like a pool party and pumpkin treats for the fall. I also can not say enough about how amazing the staff is! My dog is a rescue and he was in the shelter for 6 months and had 2 failed adoptions. He is amazingly sweet however he's extremely active. Every single person he has been with has really worked with him. They are patient and kind and really are honest with everything that goes on.They have even been able to help me break a few bad habits! You can truly tell everyone there loves dog and I feel very confident knowing that he is in good hands. My suggestion to you, is give this place a shot. They know what they are doing, they're receptive, and they truly TRULY care about you and your dog! read more

I love having a reliable, safe, and fun place to drop off my dog for daycare or boarding! The staff are great, very communicative, and genuinely love the dogs. One time I peeked at the webcams and saw Baylee holding/cuddling my dog and he was absolutely loving it. They'll sometimes text you pictures, which always warms my heart! My dog is pretty high-energy and confident, so the Toybox playroom is perfect for him. The is hands down the best option for daycare and boarding. They take fantastic care of my dog and I never worry about her safety or if she is having a good time. She loves dogtopia and her tail goes crazy when we pull up!! They have the best staff... they truly know and care about each individual dog and are so friendly and helpful. I feel like they care about my dog as if she was their own. The facility is always immaculately clean, and every detail such as the joint-friendly flooring has been thought of. They don't crate and rotate which is a huge plus for me. And I love the webcams to watch my dog play! I looked long and hard for a daycare/boarding facility I felt comfortable with and can't recommend them highly enough!! Loved the opportunity to try this place. They really were a great resource for my dogs yesterday. Loving care, my dogs were happy (and tired!). Check-in was easy. They even took care of medications at feeding time! The *only* ding I have is the many miscommunications we had up front. At least one was mine (be aware, there are two North Austin locations!). I accidentally booked at two different places while trying to register only at Burnet Road. But the rest, I would get an email that stated something like: "I'm sorry but because your pet has not been spayed, she can't stay with us." And "I'm sorry, but since your pet hasn't had her shots, she can't stay with us." Neither was true, and easily fixed... I just have a problem with the negative statements. Just ask if there's something wrong with the records and we can fix it. Don't assume my pet can't stay with you. There were other calls besides these where communications seemed an issue. I think this is a new location and maybe they're just having growing pains? Anyway, I want to leave you with a positive note that I think this place is fab and am looking forward to leaving my dogs there again now that all the paperwork hassles have been seen to. :) Love you guys and thanks for taking such good care of my babies! read more

Disappointed to be writing this but the truth is the truth. I've spent $ not only purchasing my pup but investing in training, manners etc. the first few hour stays seemed good for my pup. He'd come home tired. The first cleaning I paid for the spa and they didn't clean his ears AT ALL. Went back the next day and they fixed it. Finally set him up for boarding. And the real problems started. First I paid UPFRONT for the boarding which was over $350. Left him food and a blanket. When he ran out of food I got NO CALL. So whatever they decided to feed him now he's shitting diharriah everywhere! Second. ALL HIS MANNERS ALL GONE! He's never had an accident and now he chooses to just piss and shit everywhere but the grass!! He didn't even do this as a pup when he first started training. I'm assuming they didn't continue practicing his basic skills at least once daily bc he don't sit stay nothing and I left all this in his notes!!! It's irritating & frustrating! When I pick him up they tell me I WASN'T EVEN CHARGED FOR BOARDING so when I picked him up I STILL HAD TO PAY OVER $100 more!!! For all that I could of sent him to a personal sitter or boarder trainer. Paid $500 to have my dog untrained. It's crazy and then they were just like "sorryyyy see you next time". SURE! The first day I brought my dog here she seemed to love it. Even watching on the camera she was playing and haviing fun. All the dogs in tHere were normal and playing like normal dogs..the second day , every time I turned on the webcam some dog was barking in her face non stop and the person watching them did nothing about it. You could clearly see she was not liking it and to let that dog just keep barking at other dogs like that? She is now super stressed out. I called Dogtopia (which by the way was a holiday weekend) to see if they had availability for a bath as the place we boarded could not accommodate. The associate offered to check and they were able to squeeze him in although they were booked. I truly appreciate them offering to do this when 1. Our dog wasn't boarded there and 2. My five-month-old, 54-pound pup is a handful. His energy level is off the charts and socialization was key. I don't have enough friends with dogs who can work us into their busy schedules. I researched places in Austin near me that offer dog daycare. Dogtopia stood head and shoulders above others I explored. I chose Dogtopia of Crestview at 7301 Burnet Rd. in Austin. It's a new facility and is super neat and clean and the closest Dogtopia to my home. It has both an outdoor and air conditioned indoor play area and individual pens for the dogs to rest during "nap time" around noon. As a five-month-old, my pup needs that. Staff is very friendly and helpful and you can tell they are all "dog people." My dog has become a regular there usually twice a week, socializing with numerous dogs of all breeds that are his size and temperament. He loves playing with other dogs and comes home exhausted but happy!!! And I can keep an eye on him because Dogtopia has webcams I can watch through their free app. It's easy to make an appointment through their app and information about hours and prices, etc., are readily available. There are special activities - my dog is a water dog and LOVES the Pool Party Day, playing outside in the kiddie pool and in the water sprinkler. We're also looking forward to some upcoming Halloween-related activities, such as having a day when frozen pumpkin dog treats are available and a Halloween photo party on Halloween, complete with available costumes for your dog. I'm a stickler when it comes to caring for my dog and want the best for him. I'm getting that at Dogtopia Crestview, where he is safe and happy and well cared for. This is definitely a five-star (or five paw) business and I highly recommend them! read more
