Brought my dog here for board and train for leash reactivity. Cathy was his trainer for 2 weeks…read moreand he loved it and was so much better after! She was super responsive and sent me constant photo and video updates of him and his progress. He also got to play with other dogs at the facility and she offered recommendations on harnesses and cane twice for at home visits. Definitely well worth the time and money!

Unfortunately I can genuinely say that I did not have a good experience at Taurus Academy. Most of…read morethe workers there are nice and friendly. The communication via text is great, very quick replies when it's benefiting them ( booking daycare, services, etc) however if you want to receive feedback on your dog, don't expect a quick response, if at all. It seems like if your dog isn't enjoying themselves there, then don't expect a response. However if your dog is doing well and having a great time with other dogs, then you'll get a reply over text. My other complaint is on the first day of daycare I texted a few times throughout the day to inquire about how my dog is doing there. No reply. I got worried so eventually texted to let them know that if I need to pick him up soon I can. No reply. Keep in mind, when it came to any other inquiries I had such as booking days or adding any other services, they reply in less than 5 minutes. With this matter, I received no replies. Being a concerned dog parent, and with this being his first day of real daycare there, I was freaking out because I didn't receive ANY replies the entire day. When I picked him up I asked the ladies at the front desk about it and the attendant who was tending to my dog came out from the back and said he was doing just fine. He just wasn't as playful. Why couldn't they just texted me that knowing full well I was worried about him throughout the day? The third and last time I dropped him off there I had requested to have a progress report and didn't mind paying for it. I never received one. Again it was with the same attendant. I inquired about it and they couldn't tell me why I didn't receive one and just said I wouldn't be charged for it. The final straw that made me decide never to trust Taurus Academy again was the following morning after a day of daycare at Taurus Academy, my dog started having frequent watery diarrhea, with tinges of blood. I didn't give him anything different at home. The only thing I could allude it to is what he was given as treats at Taurus. They give the dogs treats when they command the dogs to do something. For example every time I pick up my dog, they'll have him sit before they let him out. When he sits, they'll give him a treat. So I texted Taurus yesterday and told them about my dog having diarrhea and asked what types of treats were given to my dog. They replied with no one gave him anything in the morning and they'll check on the afternoon crew. Well I took my dog in at noon, so of course no one could give him anything treats in the morning. I didn't mention that to them. I was just waiting for a follow up text regarding the afternoon and evening crew. I received nothing about the later crew. The service at Taurus is terrible. Taurus Academy in Burnet may appear nice and great on the surface. However, if there's any occurrences or concerns that may arise with them, do NOT expect prompt replies and accountability. They will be very vague and sketchy. Communication will be very short, if any at all. All in all, the first week of daycare at Taurus was a disappointment and I'll be taking my dog somewhere else. All in all, Taurus at Burnet seems nice and pretty on the surface, however not so much on the inside if problems occur. It is pretty sketchy. I also didn't like the idea that they don't have cameras in the play yard. That also doesn't give me a good feeling about what exactly goes on there. I've taken my dog to two other doggie daycares and both had cameras that run all day long. (I moved and therefore had to find another daycare for my dog and thought Taurus would be good. I will be looking elsewhere.)

BHV Austin TOO - a look at one of the rooms full of white picket fence private rooms where they chill. Got this off the website as well.

Can I give them ten stars?! I won't lie, part of me kind of doesn't want to write this or say…read moreanything because I don't want to have to fight for my baby to have a great place to stay, but also as a truly psycho pet parent...I know, I'll own it... this place made my heart so happy. This was my third or fourth (can't even remember the others were so traumatizing) doggy daycare to visit. This is the only one that didn't instantly hit me in the face with the smell of urine or wet dog...eww. Also, this one has amazing staff members that actually seem happy in their jobs, not just hating their lives and overwhelmed by dogs. BHV takes a completely different approach to daycare than the others I saw. They keep the dogs in play groups of no more than 8-10 dogs. Others literally got as high as 40! I had a baby anxiety attack just watching it on the monitors. They let the play groups go outside and run around for around 20 minutes and play really hard, then that group goes back to their individual dog set up, which is NOT a crate! It's this precious little white picket fence area where the fence is 4-5 feet tall...pending height of the animals (they have a room for big dogs and a room for small dogs). You bring your baby's bed, stuffed toys, snacks, whatever they need, they provide water bowls, food bowls, etc. There is a big screen TV in all of the rooms where your dog will be resting for some background noise so that they aren't freaked out by every new sound. If you use the normal space with the picket fences, your babies can still see their friends "across the way" so they know they're not alone. During the approximately 1 hr to 1.5 hrs that your dog will be in the white picket fence area resting, there is one staff member coming around a few times to let each dog out to run down the hall and say "hi" to all of it's friends and get a little energy out, if it wants. You can also actually board your animal here over night...they have many levels of quite nice spaces (a couple suites are nicer than my bedroom LOL). This review is not about that, as we only use them for daycare. My dog and others that I've witnessed get so excited when pulling into the parking lot. Drop offs have become "mom, get outta my way, love you bye, I have friends to see". They post pics of the dogs throughout the day on social media so you can see your baby having fun. My husband and I have quickly fallen in love with this place, the lovely "hoos" that run it and even the fellow parents. It just seems like everyone loves being a part of this place. I have zero guilt about leaving my kid here, as I know she is having tons of fun and comes home a tired baby.

I can't say enough good things about BHV TOO! The facility is clean, spacious, and filled with fun activities that keep our pups happy and engaged throughout the day. We love seeing the photos they post on Facebook. It's clear the team loves what they do, and they treat every dog like their own. We highly recommend BHV TOO to any pet parent looking for a reliable and loving daycare!

So, imagine our surprise when my parents submitted an application to adopt and were denied - for the simple reason my mom missed a heartworm treatment for their current dog (they changed Veterinarians and it was overlooked). ABR posts on social media how much they need money and "new parents" - yet, clearly neither truly matters. Needless to say, my parents have stopped the automatic donations and are currently looking elsewhere to adopt their next angel - and for a new charity to support.

I was approved to adopt from Austin Boxer Rescue and went to one of their adoption day events a few months ago. They are very organized and MOST of the volunteers are very nice. But the one dark haired lady who signs in visitors was the rudest person I have ever met. She was talking horribly about all the other volunteers and was rude to us (and to the other familes that came that day). Like seriously rude. It was very offputting for the first person we met to scream at us and others. I wish I could remember her name - maybe Tina? Tanya? That said, I worked with Justin and he and all the other volunteers were helpful and nice. I haven't found the perfect dog yet and am not sure I want to go back to their adopt day again. I don't want to be yelled at.
