It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

I was anxious to take them to a new vet and this was their first car ride since the move (cats and flying :/). My boys did great and everyone from the front desk, to the vet tech, and Dr. Kemnitz were so warm and welcoming. They were thorough in their care, weren't rushed, and listened to all my concerns. I appreciated that Dr. Kemnitz's style was more conservative and avoiding tests and traumatizing my boys if it wasn't necessary. I'm happy to say that I've found a new vet here in Austin and highly recommend!

While they were good, it was a huge mistake. Even though she knows we're pulling up to the vet and freaks out, when you get in, at least they have confined spaces and extra hands to help handle the dog. They now have an exam room with an entrance from the front of the building. We managed to work it out such that the room was available when we pulled up and didn't have to go sit in the lobby waiting for a room. That said, there were still two trips through the lobby to weigh and then for her exam and shots. Dr. Kemnitz is a practical vet and I've been pleased with his work. God rest Dr. Holcomb.

I have a very anxious 6 mon old Laggoto Romagnolo and I asked them to help reinforce good manners as my pup and I work with a trainer to get these mastered. Dog Socialization is critical for him. He had a broken leg at 10 weeks old and could not walk or put weight on it for 9 weeks and so his start was a little unconventional in socialization. I know he gets his fair share of play and what puppy doesn't like play? Since I did travel for work a great deal and as Covid subsides, my travel will start to come back. My pup has stayed overnight and I feel super confident as a worried Mom that he is well taken care of during his stay.

On top of that amount, I was charged $194.85. When I contacted Care.com about this charge, they reported that I selected a background check on the caregivers initiating that fee. I would never knowingly have selected a background check on their caregivers if the cost of $194.85 would be added to the already $149.59 charge to my card. When I contacted them, they made a blanket statement that they don't offer any refunds. Somewhere in their supposed fine print is a 3 day cancellation policy,... something else you don't readily see or know you should do. On top of these fees, you still pay premium pricing for the actual service! I wasn't able to secure a sitter for the dates I needed. All I received from Care.com is a very large bill!! I would give Care.com a negative 10 as a review on their scamming policies towards their new clients!!!!! I have to rate this company for my review to post. It is not an accurate rating, it was below "not good" When you try and rate care.com, it pulls up Pawstin, not the same company I'm reviewing.

My husband and I have a 10 1/2 year old dog. I don't need to tell others out there that as your dog ages, you grow a bit more protective of his care. Last 4th of July, we left our dog at the city's most expensive dog boarding place thinking, as we were new to town, that it had to be the best. Wrong! Their 24/7 camera on the crating and play area made it perfectly clear there were no humans around and we're 8 am, then 9 am and still...no person. We were panicked. While everything worked out ok (their person who was to come in had car trouble), it made for a very stressful morning. I learned you need to ask any boarding place a simple question: when does the last person leave at night and when does a person arrive in the morning? You may, I fear, be shocked by the 12-14 hour time frames. I know I was which circles back to Doggone. I emailed that question first and got back the most wonderful response that Liz and Mike never leave the dogs overnight alone. Yeah! After learning this, I was happy to sign up for Phase 1, the meet-and-greet. It was professionally and warmly handled. Liz and Mike answered my questions, asked me question and made it clear: I just could tell our dog would be in good hands. What a marvelous feeling! Paperwork is part of the process. They use the third party Dogvacay so payments are easily processed. I'll follow up after the boarding is complete.

Our dog came home pushing their nose on us all the time, trying to communicate or get a treat, we're working to unteach them this ridiculous and annoying behavior. Horrible experience, wasted hundreds of dollars for our dog to come away with only annoying 'training' and malnourished and mildly traumatized. The facilitator of this business has issues with certain breeds of dogs…read more I requested to be added to an upcoming group class with my 16 week old AKC registered Dalmatian. I filled out an online form, giving details about her and our family dynamics. She is generally very well behaved, has an excellent pedigree, and comes from dogs of good temperament , but like any puppy, was active and jumpy/mouthy (nipping at my son), and needed training, hence the need for classes. I was contacted via telephone by Janice, who seemed frantic and distraught about my 'out of control' dog. I was told that I would need to have a PRIVATE evaluation ($150) before being allowed into a group setting. I know now, based on other reviews, that this is common for this facility. I was completely shocked, and asked why the need for a private eval, reminding her that, again, we are talking about a rambunctious PUPPY. She responded with, "Well, she IS a Dalmatian!" That was all I needed to hear to realize that my dog would not get the respect and fairness needed in order to be properly trained. I am so glad that I did not go with this facility, based on her attitude over the phone, and other reviewers experience. Unfortunately, I am still having a hard time finding a trainer that does not hold breed biases
