What's great about Camp Bow Wow compared to other doggy daycares: no prior reservation needed, clear doggy cams, and break rooms for chill time! Camp BowWow has easily accessible indoor and outdoor playrooms. This allows your pups to run free and not be confined, which is a HUGEEE PLUS for us! At our last daycare, they were anxious, scared, and had slobber all over them. This time, happy, excited, and absolutely no saliva on them! Camp Bow Wow went above and beyond to make my nervous pup feel at home and come out of her shell. We loved watching her on the webcam, and knew we could always call to ask how she was doing. Whenever I did call the staff clearly knew my dog and had spent time with her. The staff is very attentive and proactively moved her to a different campground when it was clear she was nervous around the dogs in her first campground. But my dog was unfortunately rejected for boarding due to his age (maybe because he has more health issues at his age?) A bit of ageism- who knew that would exist with animals too. Wow, I'm super disappointed in the customer service and communication at Camp Bow Wow. I was actually really looking forward to enrolling my dogs here and everything on paper looked great about this place. 6/2/21 - tried calling CBW but no answer so I submitted a contact us form on their website. I received an email back that someone would be contacting me shortly. 6/9/21 - I still hadn't heard back from CBW via phone or email so I just called this CBW location around 10:20 and a lady answered. When I told her that I had sent a form over a week ago her response was "if we haven't responded that means we're probably busy." when I said "for a week?" she replied with "is there something I can help you with?" and in the middle of me talking she said bye and HUNG UP ON ME. I totally understand things happen and places get busy so I am not upset about that (I wasn't even upset about it on the phone either, I questioned the lack of response from them but I was very calm). What is upsetting now is that there was no "I'm sorry about that" and on top of that, I get hung up on. That's what's upsetting. I'm sorry but this is poor customer service especially for a new customer. If you can't be professional, it makes me nervous leaving my dogs in your care. I love Camp Bow Wow! My boys go here once a week for daycare and I love that I can watch them all day. The staff is super amazing, they are all very friendly and greet my boys by name. At other daycare's we've gone to in the past, my boys would sometimes come home with decent size scrapes and cuts. I never worry about that happening here since they monitor the play so well! I've been taking my dogs here for a while now. However, I didn't board them until just recently! I am glad to say that everything went smoothly and my boys had a great time. The staff is always delightful super welcoming to my dogs and is more than excited to see them when they walk in. . One of my dogs was super shy and scared of everything. After taking him to day care for a couple of time he grew to love the staff !! He gives them kisses when he walks in and he's not shy at day care that's for sure! . The staff is super great, if your a tiger mom you can call them and they will answer all your questions on your pets! They are super busy so maybe one day they may grow in another location. My dog is very shy so I'm always nervous about leaving her anywhere. I don't worry as much with Camp Bow Wow. There are cameras and I am able to watch her at daycare while I'm at work. They also have a ton of different activities that you are able to pay extra for like a giant ball pit. I've recently boarded my pup and she seemed to do okay. We just moved to ATX and were looking for a place we would feel comfortable leaving our dogs, as we have no friends or family here. Camp Bow Wow OVER exceeded our expectations. We have 3 dogs and our female is VERY nervous, it takes her a long time to warm up. So I was very concerned about her passing the exam. The staff did AMAZING with her. Our somewhat unsociable 7 month old puppy went to Camp Bow wow on Saturday. Everyone was so positive and encouraging.

I am so pleased with my (and Trooper's) experience with Camp Bow Wow!! They offer a free trial day where you can tour the facility, have a doggy interview and drop him off for the entire day. Upon picking up my little man from his trail day, I recieved a very cute and enthusiastic report card called "D-Tails" (get it? lol). Now, I know they probably give raving reviews for every dog that passes through because it is after all their business, but I can not tell you how happy and proud I was when I picked up Trooper to a staff that was gushing about how wonderful Trooper is. The normal, not-irrational-mother side of me knows that Trooper is not the sharpest crayon the box... but I still love that they made him seem that way! Camp Bow Wow is also very convenient. They do not require that you call ahead to reserve a spot, there are no specified "pick up/drop off" hours, they let you pay day by day (though it's cheaper to buy a package) and their prices are not bad compared to the place I used to go to (and othe doggy play days in general). Their welcoming staff is excellant. Super friendly and they are always educated on how the dog did that day/who your dog played with. I have only been there a few times (3 or 4 play days so far) and they already know Trooper's name without looking him up. I also love the "Camper-Cams" they have set up for your viewing pleasure. I am guilty to pulling up those camper cam's during work hours. Why? Because it is so cute to see your dog playing with other dogs, and I get extreme comfort knowing that I can see my dog, know exactly what is going on and how the employees interact with the dogs. With these camper cams you can see the extent of the supervision. I love that I will almost always see a person in the camper areas either playing with the dogs, scooping poop, or simply sitting and petting them. Though my dog doesn't go up and cuddle with the people... I find it comforting that they have someone on hand who could respond quickly should the dogs get aggressive (and lets be honest: that is bound to happen sometimes, these are dogs we're talking about). Trooper does come home with a few scratches and scrapes but again, what do you expect? He is playing with dogs literally all day long! Though all of these things are great, my favorite thing about Camp Bow Wow is how tired Troop is at the end of the day. Anyone who has been through boarding their pet with either strangers or an unknown company, know that this can be a terrifying experience. You just want your pet to be happy, well taken care of, and come out of the experience unscathed in every way possible. I'm sure you've heard/read horror stories and just cross your fingers you don't become another one. Living walking distance from Camp Bow Wow and having passed the place tons of times, we decided to give Camp Bow Wow a shot because we will be going out of town for a while. Upon checking their web site, we saw that they give free tours as well as do interviews with the pet prior to the actual boarding (which they said was mandatory...but not a bad idea anyway). This consists of bringing your pet for a minimum of 3 hrs and can go throughout the day. So we decided to go take a tour of the facility and called them on the spot. They quickly answered and said we could go in anytime. Upon arriving to the area, it was a bit hard to find because it looks like a desolate parking lot with a cluster of nondescript commercial buildings. But when we found it, we immediately liked what we saw. Once inside the building, it is a big contrast to the bland exterior. The frint desk receptionist was nice and inviting and was more than happy to answer any questiosn we had. She took us for a very brief tour of the inside where the animals are crated. The crates are individualized and were much bigger than I had expected. For our little runt, the crate is like a studio apt! There are even fleece elevated cots that the animals can sleep on which was a nice touch. She even showed us the temperature controlled suites (for more $$$). A great thign about those suites is that they have a camera so you can use the web app to watch your precious pet remotely! Super cool! Then there is both an indoor and outdoor recreation area that the animals can hang out and play. So far, we really like the place, the staff, and the prices. The next step for us is to bring our little brat for his interview soon to see if how he acts. I will do a follow up review after we use the boarding service. For now I must keep the rating as 5 stars, let;s see if this changes or not ;) read more

I also know he loves this place because when I pick him up, he refuses to get in the car and once he is in the car, doesn't want to even look at me because he's so sad to leave. Camp Bow Wow is a really great place for my poochie. It's clean, safe, and fun for her. She's a mini Schnauzer so she is in the play area for small dogs. I can watch her online via Camper Cams which makes me feel better. In addition to day camp, they have overnight services. Very convenient for when I travel. Camp Bow Wow also offers a bath service. My small/ medium dog was loved and loved this place for over 2 1/2 years and was known by name and how much the staff loved him. Since the beginning it was known that my dog did not get along with the medium dogs so was marked to stay with small dogs. Recently received a call that my dog attacted another dog that was bigger than him. Which is odd seeing as he is considered a big small dog. I was told to come pick up my dog because my dog attacked another dog bigger and older than it for no reason. No explanation was given, the staff in the front was aloof, and I was told not to bring my dog again because it can't be trusted. If this is how they choose to treat there loyal customers than it is not worth my time. My dog does not go after dogs bit also is uneasy about medium and large dogs without me being around. This was known during the assessment. This Camp Bow Wow needs to be evaluated but the company because I no longer trust the staff there anymore. Espcially because they wouldnt show me information or video of the attack or what lead up to it. ***Now the Business Owner just replied below to my review but seems they have the wrong person. My little beagle puppy Chloe absolutely LOVES Camp Bow Wow!! I bring her here about once a week for day care. The person at the front desk is always very sweet and welcomes Chloe with a big smile and pets, which she loves. Every time we are walking up to the doors, she gets very excited. When our little guy started screeching and whining while we grabbed his overnight bag and toys, we thought he was excited to bolt out of the house and head to Camp Bow Wow. He loves other dogs and this would be a great time for playtime. Calm down, we told him, we're heading there in a few minutes! When we got through the camp doors though, we realized with sadness: he KNEW where he was going, and he was crying because he did not want to go. Talk about foreshadowing. Now, our bear is really attached to us, and that's okay. What's not okay is going to pick him up 3 days later to find him scratched up. Apparently, another dog had gotten aggressive, and our buddy had gotten beat up. The girl at the counter (really nice staff) nervously told us they hadn't wanted to worry us by giving us a call, and had a vet look at him to make sure he was okay. I saw the scratch on his nose and thought it wasn't too awful, but I was sad another dog had been mean to him (how did that happen?). Rather than match up the dogs by size, I wish they'd do it by temperament; our fur kid is a lover, not a fighter. However, when we got home, I noticed it was more than his nose: his cheek also had a deep three-nail scratch that had bled, and they hadn't told us about it. I can't say that I would trust them with my baby again, because who knows how bad something might be next time and we'd be shaking in our boots away from home because they wont give us a call to let us know. My daughter brought her dog in here for a week and he came back emaciated and sick . Half of his dog food was left , they never called to say he wasn t eating . They actually said he ate every meal upon pick up . I would be Leary of this place if leaving your dog for an extended time . The day care seems ok , but def not any long period of time . After reading all the positive reviews on here, we took our newly adopted pup to Camp Bow Wow for an evaluation, and being that she's so outgoing, playful, and sweet, we weren't worried at all. We were a little turned off at first because we had to wait around for about 30 minutes while the staff member working the front desk took care of other dogs, and there were several turds on the floor that no one had bothered to clean up. (Good thing our pup isn't too interested in eating those kinds of things!) Finally, the woman took our dog in the back to try her out playing with another dog, and she soon came back to report that our pup had tried to bite the other dog's face. This came as a total shock to us because she had never done anything remotely like that in her interactions with our friends' dogs or dogs on the street. But we had to take the staff member's word for it, as we weren't allowed to watch the interaction. The staff member also let us know that despite our dog's supposed bad behavior in her 1-on-1, she was taking her to a room full of dogs to try that on for size. To me, the way they introduce a new dog is a bit intense -- just throwing a puppy into a room full of large, adult dogs that already know each other -- so it wasn't surprising that our little girl was a bit tentative. The staff member initially said we should leave our dog there for the day, and she'd probably warm up, but she called me no more than an hour later to let us know that our dog was too reactive and scared, and she wouldn't be allowed to stay at Camp Bow Wow anymore. She said I had to drive back up there and pick up our dog right away. As new puppy parents, we were crushed! Here we thought we had a perfect little angel, and then she got rejected from day care! Talk about a blow to the parental ego! A week later, we took her to Taurus for an evaluation, but at this point we weren't expecting much. (In fact, we were considering hiring a behavior specialist to help us recondition our apparently messed-up pup.) But to our surprise, Taurus gave her a stellar evaluation and said she was a wonderful, outgoing dog who got along great with all the other pups! We asked them about the discrepancy between their evaluation and Camp Bow Wow's, and they couldn't explain it except to say that sometimes normal dog behavior seems more threatening than it is to people who are inexperienced with dogs. I think that's probably true, but I've also since read that Camp Bow Wow has a history of discriminating against pit bulls, and it just so happens that my puppy is a pit/boxer mix. So while they've changed their official position on the breed after much public outcry (they used to have a hard-and-fast rule against allowing the breed in their facility), I think there might be some institutional discrimination still going on. Thus, I can't say what your experience at CBW will be like if you have a chihuahua or a lab, but if you have a pit, don't be surprised if they interpret her every move as threatening. (And don't hesitate to give pit-friendly Taurus a try -- They've been awesome with our pup!) read more

Dolly spent almost an entire week at Camp Bow Wow boarding. This particular facility (the company is based out of Colorado and has several franchise locations throughout the US) doesn't have any sort of grassy areas which I wish they did; however, they do have very large sized kennels which is great for long overnight visits. I was able to bring Dolly's bed and squeak toy from home and I provided them with her Wellness dog food. They ask for your dog's feeding schedule as they can feed up to 3 times a day if you want: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In between feeding times the food is pulled (no free feeding). There is water available at all times both in the kennel and the play area. The big dogs are separated from the smaller dogs at all times. The dogs go down for sleep at 7PM and the dogs stay in their kennels for 12 hours as the facility opens at 7AM. This overnight time schedule (12 hours) has been pretty typical based on my experience with numerous kennels. It seems that the dogs get play time about 6 times a day at Camp Bow Wow. Dolly isn't used to having to eat at set times so in the beginning she did not eat at all (I had instructed them to feed her 3 times a day to cover all bases as I knew she wouldn't want to eat each time). Camp Bow Wow keeps a feeding log (I called part-way during my trip to inquire on her habits) so they were able to see she wasn't eating and they gave her wet food. Camp Bow Wow keeps high quality wet food on hand like Natural Balance to mix with the dry for dogs that aren't eating. They did not charge me extra for this. I was very grateful that they gave high quality wet as this helped Dolly to get used to eating her dry on a schedule. Camp Bow Wow has live cameras streaming from the play areas so you can see your dog during play time. You can also pay a few bucks for the smart phone app and watch the same stream from your phone. This facility also recently hired a groomer so that your dog can get a groom. They dogs get a free bath after so many nights of boarding but it is nice to have a groom option. Only downfall is that as of June 2012 the groomer is only available Monday-Friday so if your pick up is on the weekend you can't catch a groom before getting your dog. They are working on hiring a 2nd groomer to cover weekends. They require one day of observation at no charge which is a great excuse for a free play day. Your dog has to pass this observation before they can stay at any of the Camp Bow Wow facilities. Dolly seemed fine when I picked her up after her 5 night stay (she is used to boarding) and I have no complaints on pricing or anything. I really like the fact that Camp Bow Wow allows for drop off and pick up all day, 7 days a week (unless it is a holiday where they have set times for drop off and pick up). I would recommend and use this Camp Bow Wow again. read more

I was very disappointed with the lack of communication and care I received from Camp Bow Wow. I brought my dog in for the evaluation day for an upcoming trip I needed to take. They did not tell me ahead of time that she needed a quick release collar, so they put their own on. They put it on so tight it cut her skin and was bleeding only after a couple of hours. I noticed when I got her home after she had been there. They didn't notice, or communicate anything about the collar to me. I emailed them regarding the experience, and the manager reached out to me. She was kind, and understanding but the overall experience left me feeling uncomfortable leaving my dog in their care for two weeks. I told her to cancel my reservation and she said she would. Now, a week later, I just received a confirmation for my upcoming stay. I am still waiting for a call back to ask them to cancel it, again. I do not recommend. read more

I was pretty apprehensive about taking my dog here the first time. That being said, they did an amazing job. I received a walkthrough of the pens and holding facilities and let me tell you, you could eat off the floor. Not to mention the fact that when you leave your dog in doggie daycare, they have webcams so that you can check in on them. They play with the dogs all day long and supervise them carefully. I can't say enough good things about Camp Bow Wow North Austin. They've been so wonderful to our pups and just a really pleasant crew. Our giant babies Cypress and Gypsy really love it there and always seem happy when we pick them up. We don't like to board anywhere else! read more
