No hidden fees, no hassle. Minimum 50% payment upfront and the rest after the service is completed. We had a 30-45 minute intake interview. They asked detailed questions about our cats and our place. They sent very detailed reports and tons of photos for every visit. They took photos of before-after food bowls and litter boxes. They also sent many photos of our cats, which made us miss them even more. So far I can't find anything to complain about. Im very happy that I found this company. read more

UPDATE: After reading the owners response on my Google Review, it's necessary I chime in. They did NOT come back to move my trash bins to the curb. They came back to move the mail to a secure location. They never rectified the trash situation, so it's obvious the owner didn't read the notes. In addition, you'll see they're doubling down on their "business model" about not having the same sitter each day. THEN STOP INFORMING CUSTOMERS THAT YOU WILL FLAG ACCOUNTS WHO REQUEST THE SAME SITTER. Yall are complete gaslighters. Not sure why they're mentioning their hours of operation. They came well past the time window with my older cat the first time I used them. Lastly, they emailed me on June 28, which was 2.5 days ago. I was out of the country and they got in touch with me the second they realized I had forgotten to leave my spare key for them. The intake form is lengthy but absolutely hits on everything you'd want a cat sitter to know (things I would never have thought of on my own). The phone interview was also thorough and professional. The whole intake experience made me feel like they're total pros. My apartment is a bit challenging to access and they had no problem and there were so many photos and updates after the visit. After further research we learned they can provide a better, more convenient service for less than half the cost of boarding! We have already used the service over 20 days in about six months and don't know if we would get away so easily or with so much peace-of-mind without ACS. Evelyn responded promptly to our inquiry and came to our house the same day for a consultation and to meet our fur babies. She's super nice and personable and her love for cats is apparent. She took very detailed notes on how we care for the babies and our preferences when it came to "opening and closing" our home. I found Austin Cat Sitters through Yelp!, and sent in a request for cat sitting over the 4th of July holiday weekend. I honestly wasn't even expecting any availability, given that it was sort of late notice and also a holiday. But alas, Evelyn got back to me within hours. We set up a meeting at my apartment a few days before I left town, where she met Sullivan--my cat prince--and I could tell it was love at first sight. I'm not a cat, so I can't say, but it seems like Sully knew from the get-go that Evelyn was one of his new best friends, which is all I need to trust a caregiver. The prices are extremely affordable, and include a variety of "extras"--such as scooping the litter box, watering plants, turning lights on and off, and checking the mail. I even forgot to buy a new replacement litter scoop before I left, and they brought Sully one as a present!!!!! THEN, I decided to stay out of town an extra 18 hours and Evelyn had no problem going to check on kitty one more time. She sent photo and video updates each day, and left the cutest note. Used them and was very satisfied for several years (pre-pandemic). They have since jacked the prices, send passive-aggressive emails to remind you to give a 50% down payment or else, and recently sent an email that sitting needs to be arranged 2 weeks in advance. Okay, I get it. I do! They need to make up pandemic loss of income and want to ensure people don't waste their time with last minute reservations and cancellations. Shrewd business decisions on their end, annoying on the client-side. However: I recently needed sitting for a holiday and there was a 40% extra charge on top of the 30% they've already increased. Got it. Supply and demand. Still, not stoked. What really dropped my star rating was this, and I guess it could have been the sitters - but the last trip I had a couple of them who apparently fed, scooped, and then (as they described) sat on the couch and made notes. My cats thrive on interaction and play, are super friendly with everyone (i.e. wouldn't be hiding or anything) and they obviously had the bare minimum interaction with them. A pretty high cost for someone to come sit on your couch. I'd pay it if I had the sense that the sitters really read the profile notes and were really engaged with the pets as they were in the past. I was very pleased with this service before, feeling like I got my money's worth, but I'm going to seek out other options. There are other sitters you can look into. read more
