My friend and I went in for dinner at kalaveras and had Nakaryd as our server. She was very attentive and friendly from the start. We shared the dragon roll and the quesabirria which were very good. Also the margarita flight was super good. The music and vibes overall were great and would definitely go again! read more

We went to Kalaveras and Stephanie attended us incredibly. Super friendly, attentive and with the best attitude all the time. She helped us choose the best of the menu and was always aware without being invasive. You can tell she likes her job. Thank you for making our visit even better! read more

The restaurant is really loud (i.e. loud music, tiled floors, no sound buffers). It's impossible to hold a normal conversation because everyone else is yelling trying to talk. I'm all about trying to support restaurants in Simi, but the good was mediocre, lukewarm, and bland. Even if the food was amazing, I would still order out. I just don't have the patience to sit through a meal with TV screens and loud music. read more

Second time there. Food was decent, had much better at Elviras. Nothing special about happy hour, you can do better at other restaurants. Bar was crowded but had obnoxios patrons at the time, restaurant was empty. Had to watch DJ videos with no sound on every TV. There are better, authentic mexican food restaurants for food and ambiance in Simi. read more

The quesabirria tacos are sooo good! The food always comes out super fast and the restaurant has a fun atmosphere.

So we had never been there before. We walked in not busy at all. With only 2 table on one side(we made 3) full and 4 on the other side. We waited 15/20 minutes 3 waiter/employee walked by and not one would even look our way. No one stoped to ask if we wanted water, chips or anything. So finally when the last employee walked by and again didn't stop I looked at my husband and said let's go! SO WE LEFT! I let the hostess know that no one ever came to out table and she was apologetic and I just told her it's not your fault. In todays time if you want to stay in business you need to hire the right people that are customer friendly and care. I'm sure I'm going to get the same response that you have given all the other bad reviews that you will pass it down to management, well I hope it's not just passed down but I hope they do something about it! If I could give zero stars I would of! read more

We went on a Sunday and didn't realize that it was going to be a buffet. The food was ok. The music was super loud. I usually don't mind it, but my husband would prefer to not have it soooo loud. Not sure if we will be back. read more

Look, I won't say this is the most authentic Mexican food. But with that being said, go on a Tuesday night during taco Tuesday and happy hour and these deals alone earn this spot 5 stars. They have good margaritas and pretty good tacos. Definitely recommend checking out! read more

Service is not good whatsoever. The food is decent and might taste better if you're drunk. I ordered a wet asada burrito and it tasted a little bland considering it had various sauces and salsas. I wouldn't go back again unless I wanted to drink alcohol. read more

Ya unfortunately we have been here three times now. Wife n I always give it 3 try's. First visit right when they opened few bumps understandably so, 2nd visit, WOW! Horrible, Just like the other 1 Star comments with waiters and waitresses passing us by. Sad thing is, we were sitting at the bar. Couldn't get a glance, more interested in pretty girls n guys. If I say so myself, my wife n I aren't bad looking. I think it was the age. But I got a lot money,,,, Sooooo we waited about 15-20 min, the usual. 6 people at the bar, including us. I thought, that's it hun, let's get out of this S H, let's go to the best place in Simi where theres Great Food, ambience, people, all. EL CAPITAN here we come. I did say we give places 3 try's. But I ain't waisting my time on 3rd try. YA NEED TO HIRE THE RIGHT STAFF AND NOT A BUNCH MILLS OR GENXs Just sayin! read more

Their Tuesday tacos is ridiculously tiny with couple little chunk of meat. Its $1.50 i get it but its like you are cutting the regular price with the same amount you pay for $1.50 meat. Thats not taco Tuesday. Its half meat Tuesday. I feel bad to leave bad review but this is my honest review. Im sorry wont be back. read more

Took the family here quick seating service was pretty good, the inside is very nice music isn't super loud just right noise level. Wife has chicken burrito which was huge sadly the chicken was not the best she said best way to describe it was chicken from Campbell's soup! Super dry and flavor was not the best. I had the Birria tacos super good and extremely filling. read more

-they couldn't find our reservation -server forgot to bring chips -server forgot we had ordered apps and asked us to order apps again. -music way too loud and obnoxious for 6p -food was mediocre and overpriced -presentation was great and decor was nice -drinks suck, all show -they include gratitude if you spend $200 or more (even if terrible service) -server confronted us for complaining about service, making everyone feel uncomfortable and awkward read more

perfect service fast and quick it was a good time and the music was at a perfect volume

This was our first time at Kalaveras (at any of them) and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, margaritas and service from Yovana. My wife and I shared the Molcajete and it was plentiful (we had leftovers) and yummy. The chips were good and the salsa was too. We had been reluctant to go to Kalaveras because we heard it was too loud and conversations at your table could be difficult to sustain. But we did not experience that at all. It was low to average level of noise. All in all, I will go back and can't wait to try other dishes. And a special shout out, again, to Yovana for the great service. read more

Shows open! Drove over here in the fog and doors locked at 9pm. If you want to close at 9 -advertise 9pm !!

Been here 4 times now. The drinks get weaker every time -- by chance I ended up talking to the general manager and he said, "then you should buy shots." I politely said that I don't usually say anything but it has been consistent and motioned for him to try my drink (lol) it was basically water. Have not heard anything positive from people that go for the food. The only positive things I hear are from people that like the ambiance. read more

My friends and I went here for dinner. It was Sunday night and we got right in. The outdoor seating was packed, but inside was open and we were seated immediately. We ordered our drinks and food and within minutes everything arrived. We were amazed at how fast everything came to the table. One person in our party had a Mexican Coke and the rest of us had water. Three out of four of us really enjoyed our meals. The fourth person did not care for the burrito he order. I ordered the wet burrito with chicken and it was great. The ladies had Al a crate tacos. They really enjoyed them as well. Also, the female server we had was super nice and took care of us. Now for the bum news, the music was really loud. It was good music, but we could barely hear each other. If you want low level music definitely sit outside. It was pretty quiet out there. Parking is not the best. We did find a spot, people were parking all over the lot. Would I recommend this restaurant, yes I would. Sit outside for a calmer experience. Inside is neat because of the lighting. Enjoy and have a good time. read more

If you want to get stupid drunk on a Sunday then this is your place. If you want Brunch with friends, the ability to talk to each other, and maintain your ability to hear, this is NOT your place Music was ridiculously loud. Not old people complaining about loud music, but so loud you can't hear the waitress speak to you. People screaming shots! Shots! shots! Mediocre food. for $40 I expected better food. And this is a Mexican restaurant but when we asked for chips and salsa the waitress told us "the kitchen is closed". Really? Then how are you making brunch items? And what Mexican restaurant doesn't ALWAYS have chips and salsa available? I will say, it took me right back to me being 18 and drinking at bars in Tijuana. But I didn't want that today, lol. read more

I went on a Sunday during brunch their buffet was amazing, service on point, drinks were very good. Everyone super friendly

The food was 10/10 ! The service was good but could have been better due to the fact they are still brand new and they were slow at checking up on your table to see if you need anything. The ambiance was really nice! The outside was really cool and the inside as well. The music was way too loud for inside a restaurant though... they need to lower it a tad bit. I felt like I was shouting the entire time trying to have a conversation across my table. The drinks were okay in the fact they need to be stronger. Also, the prices for food & drinks I have to say are a tad bit pricey for Simi Valley. 1 appetizer, 1 kids meal , 2 margaritas, 2 entrees for LUNCH was over $100. read more

We had a fabulous time at their grand opening! So happy they are in Simi now! We needed a fun spot for date night and the food was great. The wait was a bit and i felt bad for the hostess, she was trying to accommodate everyone but after an hour of waiting, we got sat. Brandon, our server was so friendly and so quick with our food which I appreciated! He kept coming around to make sure we had what we needed. We was awesome! Margarita flight was delish! read more
