Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit w/ Mocha
Carol C.

Stopped in while my car was getting an oil change across the street. Enjoyed a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. I got a side of jam to go with any leftover biscuit. All was good! The standout of Kaffeeklatsch would be its customer service. Very helpful, thorough and I appreciate the care they take in distinguishing that I may want my coffee in a to go cup, along with the biscotti in a bag, but enjoy the sandwich on the premises. They take great care to make sure the customer gets what they want. There was ample seating to sit, enjoy and relax on a Friday morning.

Vegetarian breakfast sammie

Really great experience here this morning, service is friendly and helpful. Got the vegetarian breakfast sammie (egg, cheese, tomato slice on a scone/biscuit), soft heart pretzel, bienenstich (almond pastry), drip coffee and americano. The pretzel was hands down the best carb we had here, soft, just the right amount of salt, chewy, not too dense. The bienestich wasn't too sweet, almonds candied, filling light- yummy. The breakfast sammie was crispy on the outside, soft and warm, little bland, would have been super yummy with a side of jam!

Really cute little spot that my friend and I came to get breakfast in. It was busy the full hour we were there, but never too busy to get a table and the line moves fast. I got the bacon and egg biscuit- really good! The biscuits are great, flaky and fresh. I also got a latte and that was good. We got an assortment of baked goods to try and these were fine but not amazing. Out of all the baked goods, the pain au chocolate was definitely the best, such great layers and amazing flavor! I would definitely try some other items, they had lots of great looking stuff.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I have a German mom and grandparents and the bakery items this place has are just dripping with nostalgia for me. Everything here is so meticulously made with love and thoughtfulness. Photo with just a few of the offerings, do NOT MISS the plum cake (Blechkuchen) OMG. The coffee (locally roasted True North) is fabulous as well. What a morning, you guys, what a morning.

They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. Seattle Sunshine Coffee also outlived Ventoux that I had mentioned in my prior post. The barista and I compared my 2016 stamp card to the current design, just had a few slight different nuances. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Hopefully my next cafe detour won't take nine years though between visits.

The service is attentive and nice. The coffee is tasty and smooth. We all ordered an oatmilk latte, we'd rate 4.5/5. The Matcha latte was 0/5, do not buy, tastes like sugar milk I would come back for the coffee and to get work done! :)

It's located in the same spot after many decades in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood. Since there's several cafes along this stretch of 35th NE, as point of reference, it's two doors south of Wedgwood Broiler. It shares a huge parking lot and adjacent to a Metro bus route. It had a nice autumn hue from the overhead lighting and interior decor. The local art for sale adorning the walls was a nice added touch. Upbeat, welcoming staff. It was full right at noon and brisk walk-in takeout traffic. Nice overhead music to chill, dine, and/or do laptop stuff. They offer the usual bev menu, as well as, breakfast & lunch items, soups, salads, modest pastry case (from Alki Bakery), merch, and coffee roasts from Zoka. The 16oz mocha was well crafted temp wise & good balance of espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate. I also opted for the roast beef panini without the horseradish. Generously filled with roast beef, havarti, mayo, and red onion on savory focaccia. It was provided with au jus and I selected potato salad versus chips. The au jus was not salty, so after dipping, I also sipped the hot broth. Very flavorful and filling. The other panini half I'll have to take home. Thanks to fellow Yelp Elite All Star, Will L for a compelling post. This was a pleasant detour for lunch.

The outside is very unassuming and I you wouldn't guess there was a decent establishment but you walk inside and you are immediately greeted. The person at the register is ready to take your order. There were quite a bit of options! I don't know why but I didn't expect that. I decided to get a Brown Sugar with milk since that's my favorite and it was good! Nice and sweet with not too much ice. The inside is small but they did alright with the space available. There was a little video game corner that I was tempted to stay and mess around with but I was busy. I'm interested in what the other menu options are like and am likely to return!

There's also a small gaming console at one of the corners as well. Going inside, the menu is at the front wall, and they serve tons of things from your regular boba and banh mi sandwiches to some specialty drinks to some pretty loaded vermicelli bowls and even bubble waffles. I was actually overwhelmed with the choices and took a while to decide what I really wanted. For this visit, I got their lemonade galaxy and three egg rolls with fish sauce. Lemonade is really tasty, and there's also a bunch of peach bits inside as well. It also has butterfuly pea flower, which is mild and not too sweet to begin with. Perfect since I didn't want something too strong to go with my egg rolls! They weren't piping hot like I wanted them to be, but I loved that there was slightly more meat than filling and that it wasn't overstuffed with taro unlike some other places I've had back then. I'm sure I didn't get the full experience here given I didn't get the stuff I always see on their IG page like the watermelon slush and banh mi sandwiches, so that's what I'll do next time I come here. Looking past that, I highly recommend this place, which feels like a hard-to-find hole in the wall! You'll want to rely on street parking to reach here if you're going by car.

I absolutely love their specialty drinks like honey cardamom, and a shakerato. The vibe and atmosphere is wonderful. It's usually social and low-key but never too loud. They have excellent food, matcha with option to remove sugar (not all coffee shops have this!). Generally, I feel like their staff is really great! Love the location minus the issues with parking being tricky for a quick stop, sometimes need to pay. I keep coming back here! With gas prices over six dollars and budgets getting tighter for so many the one thing that hinders me is their prices. Their baseline drinks are an average of $5.75 + tip. Quiche slice is $8 two hard boiled eggs near $4. Typical typically if I'm gonna spend almost $10 I'd rather buy a fancy drink like a bubble tea or go out for an appetizer and food. When you own your own espresso machine and Matcha at home it's hard to justify getting such expensive drinks unless there is that "I can't make this at home" appeal - housemade syrups, Boba, etc I do love that urban coffee lounge has pour over options which can be time-consuming and cold brew, which is delicious and also more time-consuming. I appreciate their presence in the neighborhood. Having lived in Seattle for so long with so much access to incredible coffee I appreciate urban coffee lounges level of expertise with coffee. It is more rare on the east side. (Zoka is great of course!) And I will keep coming back, but sparingly due to prices. (Am I the only one who feels this way? Let me know!) Thanks for being here, urban coffee lounge!

They do have a restroom, plenty of seating outside, kinda limited seating inside. They do have a wide array of offerings. I got the spinach and feta quiche with a strawberry matcha. The spinach quiche was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed that. My strawberry matcha was not too sweet (I usually ask for everything half sweet and did not this time). The staff were friendly. Prices are reasonable for this day and age. I sat outside and enjoyed the sun! It's a great place to hang out, probably not great for groups unless you sit outside. Dogs are not allowed inside, so tie them up or have a buddy watch them while you go inside. Parking is street or under an apartment complex near by. Not sure if you pay or validate inside those apartment retail parking garages because I parked along the side streets. Park Mobile is the app you use to pay for parking. I paid about $4 ish for an hour. Overall, if I'm in the area and got the time to hangout, it's a cute place to do so.

Both were flavorful and fizzy, and fun drinks without alcohol are always appreciated. To eat, we began with the bread. It came with 6 pieces of bread, 3 slices of 2 types. My favorite was the butter with flaky salt. It also paired well with the sauce of my duck dish. For our mains, my friend had the burger and I had the crispy duck entree. My friend said the burger and fries were good, but he felt it was overpriced as a dish, which I can agree with. The crispy duck was crispy, albeit it slightly overcooked; but it was still delicious. I really liked the accompaniment of beans and kale with bacon lardons and breadcrumbs, and the sauce was SO good that I used our extra bread to sop it up. I had a coupon for a complementary dessert, so we enjoyed the opera cake. All of the layers were tasty and went well together, and I liked how rich the chocolate ganache was. Our server was kind and provided food recommendations. The food came out quickly. The ambiance of the restaurant was upscale but not stuffy.
