Even the coffee in the French press takes the coffee to another level. But talking about Oak & Reed flair the signature waffle was possibly one of the best things I have eaten. The waffle with that pearl sugar is the way a waffle should be made but then they have that waffle filled with Dutch caramel and that mascarpone on top is perfect. The tang, sweetness, butteriness, the crisp yet fluffy waffle it all was an equation for an amazing breakfast item. I could eat that every time I go. Truly amazing. The staff in Oak & Reed is always amazing attentive and kind. Live the open kitchen concept. Especially with my two year old currently in a Ratatouille kick so she wanted to see the chefs while she looked for Remy cooking. All in all Oak & Reed never disappoints.

It's an Asian rice dish and everything that lacked flavor in the chicken and waffles was made up in this dish. The problem? This is only an appetizer. It needs to be an entree, which would mean making it a larger portion. It was fantastic! They also had a decent beer selection which we got. The inside of the restaurant is cute. It has so much potential I just think maybe a revamp of the recipes. But maybe another dish would be good. We came for brunch so I don't know how their dinner menu is. When my dish finally arrived, the chicken was overcooked on the outside but pink on the inside, making it inedible. I pushed it aside and waited for our waitress to come back so I could show her. She was apologetic and removed the dish from the bill, and she did offer to bring something else, but at that point I declined. The manager also came over to apologize. With the open-kitchen concept, I realized she was the one who prepared the dish, which made the situation even more disappointing. Overall, between the extremely long wait times and the improperly cooked food, this experience missed the mark. While the staff handled the situation politely, it wasn't enough to make up for the issues. Unfortunately, we won't be revisiting.

Server could clearly not handle her section and could not handle breakfast volume in a diner, other servers seemed to be doing just fine. Just touched them with a fork and they gave in. Full flavor, perfectly cooked. The baked potato was exactly how it should be--soft, fluffy inside with that lightly textured skin on the outside. Real simple, but done right. And just to make it even better, the steak at the table looked incredible too--perfect sear, juicy, everything you want when you sit down for a good meal.
