For the vehicle safety inspection, I didn't have to make an appointment.  It was fine to do a walk-in. When I visited Emily's Garage, there was a customer who was pretty upset with the repairs and the cost.  I was able to hear what the customer had to go through but I would not comment on that as I have limited information. From my experience of getting my vehicle inspected, I was very surprised at how quickly they were able to complete the vehicle inspection.  It was done in less than 2 minutes, and I paid over $50 for that service.   For comparison, when I had my vehicle inspected at Les Schwab Tire Centers in Portland, they spent over 20 minutes to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and the cost for the inspection was only $20.   Will I re-visit Emily's Garage for the vehicle inspection?  Probably not but if the state requires me to get the vehicle inspection done, I will probably have no choice as there are not that many shops that offer the ASE-certified inspection.

It was my girlfriend's Subaru Impreza that had no existing issues until it left the Lake Stevens Valvoline a few days after an oil & differential change. Check engine lights, over heating, fluids not at the manufacturers requirement and much more. They had me start the car before the air box was latched down all the way. I had Eric (the manager) come check the car out. He asked if he could test drive the car to see what was going on, and not even 2 seconds into driving, he drives over a curb like the idiot he is and didn't even apologize for it. End result is the motor and possibly the transmission are warped and will cost more to fix than the actual KBB value of the vehicle. And of course they will do whatever it takes to deny a claim for negligence.

On a beautiful Saturday the Lynnwood locations car wash was unfortunately closed. Against our better judgement we went to the dreaded Alderwood location to clean our son's car. The car wash started and immediately the middle of the windshield cracked and then spidered into the entire windshield. We reported the incident immediately and took several photos. There was no manager on duty on a Saturday? We then contacted him first thing Monday morning. He insisted we drive the car back where he told us the crack was in the inside...hmm. I guess not only is he a weekday manager but also a glass expert. We have tried several times to get anyone (else) to return our calls to no avail and there is apparently no other manager to talk to at anytime onsite. Our insurance has told us they will not cover it as it is considered third party damage. Not to mention at time of purchase on the inspection of the vehicle no windshield damage was found. So my (Autistic) 16 year old is left with a car that is illegal to drive. Thanks Levine family, we will never use your company again. We will now determine if this is worth pursuing in small claims court.

The prices are a reasonable $56.99, I presented a coupon, from the Valvoline Website, that stated, $10.00 off for a conventional oil change! Jesus, the manager informs me that its only $5.00 off for a conventional oil change... (in my best millennial girl voice- wait, what........) the coupon is from the Valvoline Website! If coupons are at the discretion of this particular location, then state if in print so people can clearly see it. Ultimately the coupon was scanned and applied to the invoice with no further discussion, but why would he say that at all regarding the discount price? Of course, one should expect the up sale, it's part of the business model and it was put into play in this scenario, (you know, the conventional oil isn't that great,) "Yeah, well, it's in the budget. I drive 30 miles a day, it'll do. I was advised that I had some various leaks, but when I asked for further elaborations, I got no reply unless he didn't her me make my inquires. Which brings me to my next point, I couldn't really hear the gentleman, and I clearly indicated that I was straining to hear him speaking to me. No effort was made to correct or adjust so that we could have good communication. Jesus, brought over the dipstick, which of course had no oil on it, not quite sure what that was about as the oil had been drained. Since I could not hear half of what he was explaining, I just didn't bother, and NO I hear quite fine. :-) On the positive the service was quick, I was in and out, but I would strongly suggest that for females alone, I'd bring someone with you for a service. Any recommended service, check the website Repair Pal to compare pricing if you consider moving forwards. I will not be going back to this particular Valvoline Instant Oil Change.

On top of that, they have saved me SO much money on more than one occasion by giving me tips and advice for my vehicle. For example, I had a broken key for my Honda. While I was at Top Spec getting an oil change, I was on the phone with a Honda dealer for a new key. They said it would cost $500. Got a quote online that was reasonable and quick to get an appt. Service was done as promised and even got a complimentary brake inspection and confirmed the brakes and fluids were fine.
