Needed to get the transmission and diff fluids changed on my Subaru. I would have done it myself but don't have the lift or garage space. Got a quote online that was reasonable and quick to get an appt. Service was done as promised and even got a complimentary brake inspection and confirmed the brakes and fluids were fine. I have been bringing my cars to Top Spec for almost 10 years now. I get all my oil changes and repairs done by them. The work is always good and they aren't over priced. On top of that, they have saved me SO much money on more than one occasion by giving me tips and advice for my vehicle. For example, I had a broken key for my Honda. While I was at Top Spec getting an oil change, I was on the phone with a Honda dealer for a new key. They said it would cost $500. The guy at Top Spec overheard my conversation and immediately pointed me to a $10 third party key replacement on Amazon. I got it and it worked! Thank you Top Spec!! You guys rock!! read more

As a woman, sometime I feel like automotive shops take advantage of me by charging me more for services. I needed to get fluid change on my Volkswagen Golf. My husband is really into cars and said he would help me out, but also wanted me to learn. I didn't know where to go so I first went to the dealer. The quote for AWD service was $212 plus tax and fees. It is called the haldex service. My husband told me that dealerships are not always the best option. He said taught me that for VW they usually just drain and fill not clean the pump screen. I wanted another quote so I searched for european automotive shops and found Conaway. But they wanted $513 for the haldex service! That is when my husband stepped in to help me. He had enough and so he ordered the fluid from VW for the haldex and rear differensial and sent me to Top Spec. I guess they work on his mustang and he likes them. With part supply, it was less than $200 out the door. So I guess I will use my husband's shop since they are honest. But I don't like trying to find parking there. They keep too many cars and so it makes the parking lot stressful. But aside from that, they are awesome! read more

Ok I am so happy I found my new mechanics here in Washington. It is so important when you have an older car to have Someone you can trust. Now I only came in for a headlight and fog light but on an Acura some places will try to charge you the labor book cost of 2 hours of labor and $30 for a fog light. Another location actually priced me out through the messenger on this app. I messaged these guys and they gave me a great quote better than I could of imagined. I actually ended up buying a Subaru Forester from them, while they were also selling a few cars, a couple years ago. They were quick, honest, and knew alot more than the usual used dealer would know. I had gotten my brake pads replaced here a while back and they were extremely courteous, professional and got me in quickly and back on the road even faster. Great service and I figured I will come back. Well my brakes started making noise pertaining to an unrelated issue. The owner is SO genuinely nice and this is not your typical up-selling car shop. I went in for a 60k work up which he quoted me for through Yelp and after dropping my car off he called me and let me know that the actual cost would be a fair amount less than my estimate and made his suggestion to replace my break pads as they were pretty low. I asked if he was able to provide that service today as well and he made it happen which I greatly appreciate. I'm so happy to have found a small business that I feel I can count on. I was previously taking my car to Subaru in shoreline and I paid a fraction at Top Spec Auto than I would have at the dealership. They worked on my truck. I felt they were honest and very responsive when I called to check on the progress of the u joint replacement. The property and office are clean and organized enough, but they are not fancy. I see that as a good thing. I'm paying for my truck to be repaired by good mechanics, and they must have a lower overhead than the dealerships, and they pass the savings along to their customers. Based on a recommendation on NextDoor for a neighborhood car repair place, I found Top Spec Auto more than 5 years ago. From the beginning, they have always provided fast service at a fair price. Recently, my car broke down almost 100 miles away and had to be towed home the same day (a Sunday, of course) because I had doctors' appointments the next day. Top Spec was able to fit in the repairs to my car on that following Monday and get it done the same day, at a very reasonable price. I don't recommend this place at all. I drove there from Mill Creek to fix different issues there. I told the manager about the detail issues and ask me to schedule a time to fix the car. Also I told him if you want to buy a part prior, you can charge me on the phone. I had to use my time off on the other day and came there on time but the technician just told me he wanted to check the car then I can go and schedule a time to fix it!!!! Really, I called owner, he didn't answer. The technician told me if I am on rush I can come back late evening. I couldn't do that and I called the owner to give me another day and he just told me he is packed for tomorrow. He didn't even offer any other days!!!! Technician is a nice guy buy the owner who is barely 30 years old doesn't know how to make business. I recommend to skip this place forever. read more
