I had a great experience with Ahmed at PNW Mobile Mechanic and would absolutely recommend him. I had been dealing with an intermittent no-start issue with my truck where the fuel pump would randomly lose power. I had already replaced the fuel pump and done quite a bit of troubleshooting myself, but the problem kept coming back. I called Ahmed, explained what was going on, and he was able to come out to my house within 24 hours. He showed up exactly when he said he would. What impressed me most was how thorough he was. Based on the symptoms, he could have immediately gone straight to the fuel pump and started working there. Instead, he diagnosed the entire circuit from end to end, starting at the fuse box and fuel pump relay and working his way back through the wiring to the fuel pump harness. He confirmed that everything upstream was working correctly before determining that the actual problem was a poor connection at the fuel pump connector. Ahmed also took the time to show me what he was testing and explain what he was seeing along the way. I do a lot of my own mechanical work, so I really appreciated that he was willing to explain his diagnostic process rather than just fix the problem and leave. He was methodical, knowledgeable, and had excellent attention to detail. Once he found the bad connection, he cleaned the connector and, importantly, didn't just assume that fixed it. He tested everything again afterward to verify that the repair actually resolved the problem. In the end, he found and fixed an intermittent electrical problem that had been giving me trouble for months, and despite spending the time to actually repair the issue, he still only charged me his diagnostic fee. Ahmed was punctual, thorough, transparent, and genuinely great to work with. It's difficult to find someone who takes this much care in properly diagnosing a problem instead of just throwing parts at it. I cannot recommend Ahmed enough. He is truly a knowledgeable, meticulous, and honest mechanic. He literally saved my car from being unnecessarily junked and prevented a massive, unneeded expense. My car was experiencing a serious problem, and the initial mechanic's diagnosis was dire: an engine swap was required, or the car needed to be junked. Since they couldn't find a suitable engine, their final recommendation was to send my car to the scrapyard. This was incredibly stressful, as my family was not in a position to take on a new car loan at this time. We brought the car to Ahmed for a second opinion, and he gave us hope. He performed a proper diagnosis and found a fix that cost significantly less than the junking/swapping options. Not only did he fix the core issue, but he prevented us from having to buy a new vehicle. Ahmed's work ethic and expertise are truly evident in the results. On top of the major issue, my power windows had stopped working--a problem the previous mechanic supposedly "fixed" but which failed again within months. Ahmed took a look and, in literally a few minutes, fixed the issue by simply reconnecting a loose wire. What an awesome experience. I needed an injector and thermostat replaced in my van. I normally do my own work on cars but I was just too busy this week and needed my car fixed quickly. I had diagnosed the issue and ordered the parts on my own but reached out to Ahmed to see how much it would cost to have someone else do the work. The price, excellent. The communication, excellent. The quality of work, excellent. There were no issues asking him to use parts I had purchased. He even took the time to have me come take a look in the middle of the repair to show the faulty part with a multimeter. He brought with him all the tools to work, including lights as it was dark when he was able to come out. He was prepped with paperwork and torque specs for all the things, and was well stocked with all the tools he could need. He worked late into the evening and was very communicative about arrival timing between delays in a previous job and really bad traffic. Got it done on the day he said he would. This was absolutely wonderful, after having such a horrible experience with the first mechanic I went through on this site I was very leary of using yelp again to find another one, but bit the bullet and entered my information to see what came up. And this time after conversation with Ahmed, PNW mobile mechanic I decided to go with him to do the repairs. And he was absolutely amazing. Did tests to make sure ke knew exactly what was wrong with it, ten was here the next day to do the work. Found another issue while doing the repairs and went above and beyond to fix it too. I never write reviews but I've had almost only negative experiences with mechanics in the past talking down to me, belittling my opinions, and outright rudeness to me wanting to learn. This is not Ahmed. I don't even have a quote for repairs yet but already I'm so impressed by his professionalism, his knowledge and the mere fact he talked to me like an equal and not condescending at all. I can't recommend PNW Mobile Mechanic enough! originally called him to change my spark plugs and coil packs, but he went above and beyond. While working on my car, he discovered a rat's nest and even noticed a chewed-up wire. Not only did he clean out the nest, but he also took the time to solder the damaged wire back together. On top of that, he applied a product called Rat Sheriff to help keep the rodents from coming back.
