I drive 2005 Honda S2000. I'm very anal about my cars especially this one. I work on my own cars if when i can. I needed my clutch refreshed to factory condition. I will not let the dealership touch this car. I have a 2024 Civic and a 2022 Ridgeline. The work Steve and his crew was exceptional. They even fixed stuff that needed attention like a broken bolt to hold the air box in place and plastic clips that hold splash shields underneath the car. Who does this nowadays? My husband had some car problems on hwy 2 and this place was the closest shop to get towed to that was still open. We called at 6:15 (literally 15 mins before they closed) and left a frantic voice-mail about our issue and how we were leaving at 6am on vacation the next morning and we just needed to get the car to our house. He calls us back to inform us that he only works on Hondas and Acuras but to bring our dodge to him and he will look at it. This literal angel fixed our issue in 3 mins and assured my husband that he was good to at least make it home with the car and we can worry about it when we get back. He did this all for free. He may not have taken a payment but he deserves a review at the very least to show what a good person this (I'm assuming it's the owner and if not that man deserves a raise) man is. Been taking our Honda's and Acuras to MSA for decades, it's always quality work and if they come across an unexpected issue they always call to get approval before driving on. We have never had to return a vehicle because a problem wasn't resolved the first time, the price is cheaper then the stealerships price. I am new in town, and everybody said this is the place to go for auto repair, so I called here to get my ancient CRV looked at because it was acting oddly. They didn't have an appointment soon, but welcomed me to come by for a "pit stop" to diagnose whether the problem needed immediate attention. When I drove up, Tony jumped up immediately (interrupting his lunch!) to come out to my car. Then he got in, drove around the block with me to see what I was talking about, and also looked under the hood once we got back to the shop. Just to review, at this point, I have NEVER been their customer. I mean, there are previous places I have gone where I have spent serious cash in the past, and I STILL can't get them to do test drives to see what I am talking about. So I was basically completely stunned and amazed that he took this time with me and my humble old CRV dumb car. Turns out, it doesn't appear to be something that needs immediate attention (which gave me a lot of peace of mind!), so he quoted me an extremely reasonable price to do the work in a few weeks. Tony is the owner if this company. He is awesome. Every time I leave here, I wonder if I'm dreaming. He looks like Tony Hawk...just my two cents. My partner and I moved here four years ago with our 2000 CR-V. We found this establishment and brought in our car. The last place to attempt to fix the issue we were having was unable to do it after 3-4 attempts. Tony did it after the first try and for a very fair price. When we rolled into his yard, we were smitten with the cleanliness and looks of his place. We asked if we could take photos, as it looked like a Honda museum. He takes true pride in his shop. He has an old gas pump that dings when you come up the driveway. He has an old Honda hanging out of the wall. His shop is in pristine condition. When we drove our car home, we noticed a bag on the floor with "new" parts in it. We called Tony and let him know he must have forgotten some parts. He very kindly told us those were the old parts he had removed and cleaned for us. He wanted us to be sure we knew he had, indeed, purchased and installed our parts; however, the old parts were dirty, so he CLEANED them before putting them in a bag to return to us. Seriously? In the past four years, we have gone through four new Hondas (we like new cars) and he has serviced and advised us on every one. We even send him Christmas cards. He still treats us just as professionally as he did the first time we walked in. Lastly, he's quicker, more affordable and more accurate than any Honda dealership I've ever dealt with. I've worked with many mechanics over my life and this is the best Honda shop I've ever used. He is very honest and has told me how to do many minor repairs, but when my wife's newly required Civic started having a grinding sound coming from the transmission I knew that a $3000 - $4000 transmission job was in the future. Main Street Autoworks is the best of the best. I was first referred here by a good friend over ten years ago, and I've been a loyal customer ever since. People ask me why I'm willing to make a 3.5 hour round trip (including two ferry rides) to take my car to Tony. The biggest reason I keep coming back is that he's one of the most honest people I've ever met. It's such a breath of fresh air to do business with someone you know you can trust. That alone is worth the trip. Tony is always professional and friendly, his shop is clean and organized, and it's abundantly evident that he genuinely cares about his customers. Seriously, I've wondered if he's secretly some kind of zen master, because I don't know anyone else who is so consistently pleasant to deal with. Tony is truly an expert and is always happy to take the time to explain everything that's going on with my car - what needs immediate attention, and what can wait until a later date. His invoices come with detailed notes about the work that was done, as well as things to keep an eye on (which helps when a month or so later I find myself going, "What was that he said about the squeaky drive belt?"). By the way, how many people are willing to suggest a do-it-yourself solution that only costs you a few bucks, instead of trying to sell you on a repair you don't need (at least not for a while!) that costs 50 times more? I am so grateful for Tony's excellent care of my dear, old van. My kids and I practically live live in our van during our hour commute to and from work/school daily. My civic has been well serviced for by Tony and Main Street for at least 6/7 years now. Tony is responsive and honest about service intervals and repairs. Reasonable prices, which is great in-and-of-itself; but more importantly, you will never pay for something unnecessary - i.e. the dealership saying you need new brakes when you've got a good 90% left. I've been to a wide range of mechanics and no one comes close to Tony, at Main Street Autoworks. All of the requirements for an excellent shop are there including: quality of work, fair prices, honesty, and patience when explaining issues. However the experience here greatly exceeds these "minimum requirements." One thing I've never seen anywhere else is the creativity and ideology of fixing cars instead of just replacing parts. Numerous times, Tony has been able to fix a part on my car for a fraction of the price of replacing it. He does this as a result of an attitude of minimizing waste. Tony says things like "a used brake pad works just as well as a new one." The idea being to maximize the lifetime of your car, down to its individual parts. My car wouldn't start when I was leaving work on Wednesday. I just moved to the area in Feb and friends had told me about Tony, but I hadn't needed repair or service so I hadn't been in contact with the shop yet. Well my car was towed from Bothell to Main St Autoworks Wed night, Thursday morning Tony called and went over everything it could be and exactly what he would do to figure out the cause and exactly how much that would cost. Being a woman, I am always leery about anything having to do with car repair, it seems like we have to be on the defensive about somebody taking advantage of our perceived lack of knowledge of cars....Tony was the opposite of that...you can hear the honesty and sincerity coming out when he talks. He told me they were about 2 weeks out in jobs but if I left it with them he would slide it in as able. He called Friday morning with the cause of the problem, what it needed and that they could have it done by the end of the day, with a list of other possibly needed service items that could be taken care of later -either there or somewhere else, which I appreciated. When I got my car, he gave me the replaced part, I always appreciate that as well because I know the actual work was done AND it was washed and vacuumed!! AWESOME!
