This is a small cafe inside the 105 Gibson centre. It is served by some folks that have visual disability. The menu isn't extensive but considering everything the food is great and value is amazing. Service is top notch. I think we ordered everything available and all standard HK staples were top notch. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Something I love about this place is that the food is "home cooked" (the daily specials). They're different each week and often quite nice, balanced meals with some unique ingredients like squid, olive meatloaf, pumpkin, pomelo.... These are some of the feature ingredients that I've seen recently. The portions are quite nice and they come with a drink!!!! I LOVE THE MILK TEA HERE. so addicting. Something I dislike is that the food they serve each day is limited and sells out quickly. My suggestion is to order/reserve your meal when they open at 11 and then wait 1 hr until they serve it. When I come at 12:30 sharp, they are sold out ... Also the cheesecake looks delicious. Haven't tried it myself yet though. Don't forget the proceeds go to charity! Feb 20/18: lemongrass pork chop with bok choy Rice was super soggy but I enjoyed the flavour of the pork. It wasn't too salty or fatty. The Choy was also plain/lightly seasoned to how I like.

4 Star for the Concept - 3 Star for the food Cultural Cafe has my full support at what they trying to establish. Giving VIP (visually impaired person) a chance to work in a normal cafe setting. Located in Gibon Centre with ample parking and seating area. Their daily rice bowl offering for $5.50 tax in is quite a bargain. Nothing gourmet but more like everyday home cooking. My Curry Fish Ball + Beef Ball ($2) is so so but I did not expect much and I felt like I was supporting a good cause. Give them a try if you are in the area. I wish more projects likes Cultural Cafe around to help the unfortunate opportunities to have different working experience.

Curry chicken rice with Cantonese milk tea. So much veggies!!

I had the curry chicken with rice (daily special, it was a Sat) and a turkey sandwich. The curry chicken was surprisingly delicious, tender chicken with the right level of spice along with a good amount of veggies (broccoli and bok choy). A great portion size for lunch. The turkey sandwich ($3.50) was a simple coldcut + processed cheese + tomato + lettuce in a toasted bun. In combination, it makes a good sandwich. The extra detail of the toasted grain bun gave each bite texture. Each meal comes with cantonese milk tea, which is creamy and has a strong tea flavor. This cafe is tucked at the center of the Gibson 105 Community Center. In fact, it takes up a wide hallway space beside the gym so there is plenty of foot traffic in the area. There are about half a dozen two-ppl tables and a couple 4-ppl tables lining the wall. The open kitchen, cashier and a small stage occupy the opposite wall. Most importantly, this little operation gives VIP (visually impaired person) to work and interact with public customers. The ordering process isn't that different as a customer. You order with the VIP cashier, they tally your order mentally and check it with you verbally, and you place your money in a tray for them to collect. Keep an ear out and they will call out your order when it's ready. Straight forward and easy to navigate.

VIP here has double meaning; very important person and visually impaired person; and the café here runs by them. I came here passed noon on a weekday and their daily special had been sold out. I had instant noodle with curry fish ball instead, plus milk tea and mango cheese cake. The fish ball is pretty good, milk tea is rich and cheese cake is delish. There are just a few tables along the hallway across from the café. They don't make too many daily special in a day. Go either early or call ahead. Great friendly service! One of the staff came over to chit chat. She told me that most of the staffs there can only see a blurry "E" on the first line of the eye chart, but they are all very independent. A volunteer with normal vision works with them in every shift. The foods here are tastier coz they are prepared by VIP. Come and support them!!

This cafe is operated by VIP (visually impaired persons). The staff is friendly. Service could be a bit slower than usual but that's to be expected since the staff are visually impaired. The HK tea is good and so are the snacks (cookies, pastries, etc).

The milk tea is excellent, the best Hong Kong tea that I can found. Staffs are friendly too.

The mocha we ordered was delicious, adequate in chocolate notes paired with espresso. I want to say that the drinks were the highlight of my experience here. They have a few special menu items, like the unagi pizza - which I found was not the best in terms of taste. I can't pick out exactly what it is, but something on there wasn't to my liking. Either way, interesting menu item to try. To finish off, I ordered some cotton candy for my sister. I was disappointed that they said they ran out of the paper cones/sticks for the cotton candy, so they offered it to me in brown paper bags. Parking is alright as well in the plaza, since there's a lot else within.

The space itself is bright, cozy, and modern. It's great for a casual brunch. The menu focuses on creative takes on classic brunch dishes, with most plates around $18-$25 and drinks about $6-$9. We tried the pork sausage shakshouka, pork jowl eggs benny, and a strawberry matcha latte. The drink was a standout--refreshing, nicely layered, and not overly sweet. The dishes themselves had good flavors and promising concepts. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes for a table during the busy Saturday brunch rush, and parking around the plaza was difficult. When the food arrived, the eggs in both the eggs benny and the shakshouka were overcooked, which was disappointing since runny yolks are key to both dishes. Overall, Corner Cafe has a nice vibe and an interesting brunch menu, but the long wait, tough parking, and inconsistent execution made the experience fall short this time.

Service 4/5 wasn't too busy when we went in afternoon. Easy to be seated, staff are attentive. Food 4/5 Eggs Benedict with Smoke Salmon was great. The chicken fettucine with spinach was also very tasty. The portions are comparable for a GTA uptown location. Will definitely revisit to try the rest of the menu.

They've added several new drinks recently, including seasonal specials, as well as a dirty matcha and hojicha latte. Their pastries are made fresh daily and are absolutely delicious. The coffee never disappoints it's strong and full of flavor. The hojicha I ordered wasn't powdery at all and had a rich taste. I liked that they didn't had too much syrup but you could still taste the strawberry b The only downside is the size of the café. It's quite small, with just a tiny table that seats two, so it's mainly suited for takeout. I'd definitely visit more often if there were more seating, since I love having a coffee spot where I can also study.

They have 3 locations…read more(Mississauga, Scarborough, and Markham), where this particular location is located in Markham, near Woodbine and Esna Park Drive. The entrance of Omventure is somewhat hidden where it faces the back of a big building housing several different businesses (mainly restaurants). A great place for kids, teens, families, as well as young adults, the space houses a variety of escape rooms with different difficulty levels, where there is a suggested number of people needed per room. Depending on the difficulty of the escape room, you are given either 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min to solve or escape the room. You are able to book your escape room ahead of time, which is highly recommended. They do have family and kid friendly escape rooms available as well. Also, the use of phones is not allowed when you play the escape rooms - if you do decide to bring your phone into the escape room and use it, you can cause your time in the escape room to end early (they have security footage throughout the rooms). This location also has an expansive board game area with many large tables and many games as well as a cafe selling bubble tea and snacks. There is also a gaming area with video game consoles as well. My party of 4 stopped by Omventure on a Saturday evening where we had booked the escape room "Kingdom of Cats" (60 min, 3/5 difficulty, best for 3-8 people). Upon entering, you pay at the counter where you can get discounts if you follow them on social media or if it is your birthday. Once ready, your belongings are placed in a single locker and you are asked to watch a video explaining the rules of the escape room. Staff also provide you with a walkie talkie where you can ask for unlimited hints if you are really stuck. Afterwards, staff lead you to your particular escape room. My party and I managed finish the "Kingdom of Cats" escape room in the allotted time, although we had to ask staff twice as we were stuck with what to do next. This particular escape room required us to solve puzzles and riddles while paying attention to our surroundings. There was a bit of crawling as we headed to at least 4 different rooms. It may seem confusing where to begin at first when you are placed in the room but with teamwork and communication, you end up figuring out what to do to move to the next step. This particular escape room isn't scary, but it is kid friendly and fun. The 60 min really flew by just like that as we had to use our brains in order to figure things out. I haven't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was really nicely designed with lots of details throughout. Moving through the different rooms was pretty cool and finding the clues and working as a team together allowed us to escape and finish. After we were finished with the escape room, staff came to get us and took our picture on the stage where we could choose different boards to hold up. Nice touch as a souvenir of the fun time you had while you were there. For an additional fee you can also play as many board games if you'd like, but we decided not to. Overall, a fun escape room adventure for everyone! Would love to try the more difficult and scary ones next time. Staff were great and the facilities were well maintained where the rooms very detailed. Great option to have a fun time with family or friends.

Apparently it's been around for a long time but I never realize its existence until now! It's a bit tucked away at the back of the Diana Seafood plaza on Woodbine. You might need to loop around the parking lot to find it, but it's certainly worth it once you are inside. The space is fine and decently laid out, so even with multiple groups, it does not feel overcrowded. They offer eight escape rooms, four game console stations, plenty of board games, a photo-taking area with fun signages, an open beverage bar (non-alcoholic... probably), and lots of good-sized tables for groups. It is a great setup for parties. We booked a birthday package that included three hours of hangout time (board games, consoles, photo area), one large pizza, eight drinks, and a one-hour escape room for eight kids. Paper plates and cutlery were provided, and parents could relax while the kids played. Bring your own cake and other refreshments with no hassle. Well-manner staffs are helpful and easy to work with. At around CAD $430 including tax, it felt reasonable, especially since the kids had an absolute blast.
