Went for the weekend lunch with 4 adults and had a pretty good experience. The place was really busy and there were lots of people waiting, so it's clearly popular. You get 1 hour 45 minutes for lunch and can choose 4 soup bases for free, which was nice. We picked sukiyaki, spicy sour soup, tom yum, and beef tallow broth. The food selection wasn't huge, but it still felt worth it for the price. Service was pretty quick even though the restaurant was packed. Came with a small group and we loved that there was a sauce bar to create your own sauces. They also had some fruits and snacks available. The menu for dinner is quite robust and everyone was able to find multiple things that they enjoyed. I particularly love the japanese glass noodles. It goes amazingly with the tomato or sukiyaki soup base. I also love that they provided us with a soup skimmer so we could get rid of the oils as we continued to cook. Compared to the Scarborough location, I'd say this one felt calmer even though it was still pretty packed. I think it's just the way the booths are spaced out and it's really well staffed. It wasn't a long wait for anything, and always easy to flag someone down if we needed to order or just needed some help. The parking here though is quite difficult compared to the Scarborough location. Theres a ton of competing restaurants and the lot isn't large enough to accomodate all of them. There's more parking in the underground space though so you can walk through the plaza if you like. read more

Lunch AYCE lite was good value. Tomato & Guizhou sour soups looked similar but didn't taste similar. Guizhou was quite spicy & tastier. Tomato was very dilute in comparison. Hokkaido chips had a delicious honey butter sprinkle. Takoyaki was crispy & tasty but had little octopus. Shrimp was below average freshness but squid was above average freshness. They hit the all spots: good quality of meat, tasty foods, proactive services, and fast service! U dont need to wait for a long time after u order ur foods! Often times AYCE restaurants serve foods slow but this location was super fast, almost instantly! And their soup base was very flavourful. I've been here 10+ times and I would say today (12-Dec-2025) has been the best service I've ever received. We had Quinnie as our server today, first time ever with her. She was SO attentive, so fast. She actually got what we asked for like cilantro and soy sauce bowl. She made great suggestions such as doubling the order since we kept asking twice. She also informed us that ice cream is one per person so we can have two others in case the kids wanted extra. This was not an extra perk to get reviews but it's for real she said. She honestly just goes the extra mile and it was lovely interacting and having her as our server. The food is really good here, best beef, the chuck is amazing! You're telling me for $50 you can have endless, marbelled beef, amazing infinite soup (they actually restock with the real soup base) and onsen egg? On top of this favourites seafood, vegetables, noodles are on the menu as well. But even seeing that premium beef chuck and brisket is enough to go crazy. Their appetizers (Nagoya chicken wings, takoyaki, beef tataki) are great too. Their portion sizes are also very small, and they slice the meat really thin so you can a chance to try everything. This place has been on my bucketlist for so long! Came here Thursday for dinner at 6:30 and it was really busy. Also quite difficult to find parking. Soup base was expensive at $20 (Tom yum & sukiyaki) but the food was fresh and there was a good variety of cooked and raw food. I enjoyed their sauces (onsen, ponzu, and garlic soy) but my friend said the highlight for her was the sesame oil. The Hokkaido milk pudding my also my favorite! The orange gel on top was refreshing and was a nice match with the pudding! One star taken off due to the price of the soup and also the portion size...esp for veggies...seems as though if you ordered 1, 2, or 3 servings, they all seem to come out as the same and when you're in a bigger group...it's a bit annoying to have to keep ordering over and over again. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Daimaru. The service was very attentive and the quality of the meat and other items were great. It definitely felt like a step up in quality compared to other ayce places. Even though there is no iPad for ordering, the servers came by quite often so we didn't really need to flag them down. Surprisingly, all of the side dishes are amazing especially the Nagoya wings!! I would go back just for the wings alone. Highly recommend this place and make sure to make a reso or come at off peak hours. I made a reservation for 5pm on a Thursday and the place was still packed. Appetizers included: Takoyaki (fav app) Hokkaido chips (sugared) Fried rice dumplings (best app) Other fav items: crispy tofu, fish tofu, quail eggs. Dessert: Hokkaido pudding or ice cream. Dining time permitted is one hour and 45 minutes. We were so hungry we were in and out of the restaurant in just over an hour. Service is very prompt. The server amazingly appeared at our table each time we needed to reorder. The menu is available by QR code but the order is placed by the server. Payment is only by Canadian cash or debit card. I could easily return to dine at this location. Note, this restaurant is in a busy area surrounded by several other eateries and is beside a T n T supermarket. Ambaince - 5/5: lots of tables and it seems like a big place. There's 3 rows of tables and seats. The washroom is clean, there's 2 stalls. I don't think it's accessibility friendly. Both stalls looked small and tight. Service - 5/5: unfortunately, no reservations for dinner. However, you can sign up for the waitlist. They gave us an approximate wait time of 45 minutes. We got lucky and got called in after a short wait. The server was really nice and explained everything. Menu is viewed via a QR code but order through your server. Service is fast Food - 5/5: the food is good, we ordered different cuts of the beef (I remember sirloin and rib eye nut can't remember the rest), lamb, pork belly, chicken wings (cooked), takoyaki, squid, desserts among other dishes. They only have 3 types of dessert - icecream (vanilla pr strawberry), hokkaido milk pudding (tangerine on top) - it is a nice contrast) and creme brulée. I liked the milk pudding the most. Came here with a party of 3 for AYCE hot pot on a Saturday night. Quite busy, but I really enjoyed the privacy of each booth. Food- various selections of meat cuts, loved the premium beef (yum!). Menu selection includes note worthy food items like the chicken wings, potato fries, takoyaki, and the various sauces! Honestly also really enjoyed the fish, fish tofu and plenty of options for veggies as well. To end, we got watermelon slices, tangerine milk pudding and crème brûlée. Service was a little on the slow side, it was quite busy, but it did take some time to attend to our table. The downside of this place, is the ordering system. Would have to wait for a worker to come to your table & order through them -- instead of filling out a sheet or iPad to enter items. Would be a point to improve on for more efficient service. Finally got to try this hot pot restaurant as it is always packed in the Scarborough location. This new Markham location is located in Langham square on the outside of the second level. Lunch is 26.99 and you don't need to pay extra for the soup base. Lots of options for meat, veggies, noodle and appetizers. Ingredients are fresh and the quality of the meat is excellent and lot of options for sauces. Service was attentive and seating is spacious. Ventilation is on par with other hot pot restaurant and they prefer an apron to cover your clothes from the smell. We will definitely come back again. On a friends recommendation we made the trip to this Markham hot pot location. Lunch prices are very reasonable for a ayce - $26.95 Per person. Ingredients are pretty much what one would expect for a hot pot (though at dinner they do offer more choices at a higher price). Proteins (beef, pork, lamb) came out on chilled trays (Nice!). Our broth choice was tom yum and pork bone. Both were nicely seasoned. Service was friendly and efficient. On a side note we (seniors) had mistakenly over paid (cash) for our bill. Busy on Friday but luckily Yelp has a waitlist feature for this restaurant. While we were driving there, we reserved a spot on the waitlist and ended up being 33rd in line which was approx an hour to get seated, so we checked in when we arrived and walked around the plaza until they texted us. Food: We got the AYCE Premium menu. The soup was not included, we ordered the 2 flavour soup base for $19, Szechuan soup (less spicy) and Sukiyaki. - Sukiyaki was my favourite soup base and I would get it again - Szechuan soup (less spicy) was still spicy for me and my gf personally, we even took out all the peppers - Beef slices all tasted great - Lamb slices were a bit too strong in lamb flavour so I probably wouldn't order it again - Tofu Rolls were my favourite hotpot classics but I noticed they don't have it on their lunch menu - Shrimp paste and scallops were also tasty - Fries and chicken wings were the highlights out of all of their appetizers - Takoyaki and Steak cutlet were tasting pretty basic Dessert: ice cream and milk pudding tasted basic but I would order more crème brûlée next time Ambiance was a bit noisy since it was busy and only a pulled-down drape separating us and the next table Service was great. I've been to Daimaru multiple times over the past year, and I think it offers one of the best lunch specials around--AYCE Japanese hot pot for just $25, soup included! The customer service is usually good, and the quality of the meats and vegetables has always been solid. There's also a nice selection of soups and sauces. My usual go-to is pork bone and tomato, but this time, I also tried the sukiyaki. I've only ever gone with one other person before, where we'd share a pot with up to two soup bases. This time, I went as a group of four, and despite the table having spots for two pots, they only gave us one. I'm not sure why, but it was pretty inconvenient for all of us to share a single small pot. That aside, the food comes out quickly, the interior is clean, and it's a great spot--just be sure to make a reservation or join the waitlist unless you want to wait a long time. Also, keep in mind that they only accept cash or debit, no credit cards. If you're at the Markham location, the ice cream is decent, but at Scarborough, it's more like a milky slush. This restaurant has an understated elegance to it. At noon when they opened, there was no line at all, you just walk in. The servers courteously usher you to an area demarcated by beige cloth panels on each side to ensure privacy. We didn't do the $26.99 lunch deal but instead did the premium one. And boy, even if you only order one of everything, it is sooo much food. There was beef of all sorts, tripe, Konjac noodles, tofu noodles, squid, fish, shrimp, squid balls, five different sauces, greens of every shade - the food just kept on coming! This is so much value for money. The desserts are phenomenal too. You can get crime brûlée and one little cup of ice cream each (you can choose either chocolate or vanilla). You're only allowed to order for two hours and then they cut you off. That's more than enough time to sample their offerings and trust me, it's a lot. However because we had so much food still, they said we could have the table for as long as we needed. So we stayed for three hours. The bathrooms are pristine and set in black marble so it feels and looks sexy. This restaurant is housed in a building where T&T Supermarket is, so you can walk off those calories after pigging out. And you will need to. I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's such a great place to go to if you want to catch up with a friend you haven't seen in years and have great food as you do. read more

On bad days I did have to wait over an hour but it's well worth it. The meat quality were great, all the veggies were fresh, they even have beef tendon which were so soft. The chicken wings appetizers were great. The honeydew pieces were so fresh.
