Saturday night dinner, ordered the premium ribeye, ribeye steak, prime kalbi, lettuce, Kimchi, spinach, bean sprout, sake steamed clam, pineapples, butter corn, beef tataki, bibimap, and end with a crème brulee Free refill of pop and also tried there plum juice

Gyubee always has the best bang for your buck. The service at this location was great. Changed our grill a few times without us asking. Took us a while to get a seat on a Wednesday night (about an hour wait for table of 4)

My favourite Gyubee location in the GTA. Service is always so fast here. And the food is the most consistent. For some crazy reason the pineapples here are ALWAYS so good. Perfect for large group dinners and gatherings.

Gyubee is one of my favourite bbq spots! The meat is good quality and as an ayce spot it's really good value. The kalbi and steaks in particular are good, but as a garlic lover I love the garlic beef. There's a decent selection of other items, and I would def get a creme brulee to end the night. Atmosphere wise, it's a pretty standard bbq setting, nothing special I'd say. Service is also really good some nights, but since they're so busy it can def get backed up. Try to join the waitlist super early cause it fills up fast. Despite the long wait though I always am happy to come back, so five stars

Came here on a Saturday night and it was very BUSY. I joined the waitlist and ended up being seated about 3 hours later, so plan ahead or go earlier if you can. But honestly, once we got in, it was so so worth it. The food was amazing - everything tasted so good! Customer service was also on point, staff were super attentive and made sure we were good the entire time we were there!!

Had a blast they had steak, prime rib, hanger steak... I didn't need to ask them to change the grill and they came automatically!! Their service was amazing.

This was my first time there. Really enjoyed all of the food and experience, and service was fine. Our favourite was the prime Kalbi beef.

We joined the waitlist through Yelp, which was super convenient. Johne was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our visit. We had a wonderful birthday celebration here and truly enjoyed the food.

We came by around 1pm for lunch on a Sunday and the wait was fairly quick. We tried the lunch menu and had most of the meats. Our favorites were the signature soy marinated steak, spicy beef brisket and thick pork belly. We also enjoyed the small side dishes of radish, kimchi, spinach and bean sprouts. Service was fairly quick and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Gyubee is easily one of my favorite spots for Japanese BBQ in the GTA. The food is always flavorful, consistent, and satisfying. I do wish they had iPad ordering like some other AYCE spots, as it can sometimes take a bit of time to get a staff member's attention. That said, once the food starts arriving, it's great. Our server, Aria, was very sweet and accommodating. Great service. She brought us one of their new menu additions to try: pickled radish. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect palate cleanser between heavier bites. We ended up ordering it every round afterward. My personal favorites include the pumpkin soup, bibimbap, prime kalbi, sake steamed clams, Nagoya style chicken wings, and of course, their iconic crème brûlée to finish off the meal. Pro tips: Check in early on Yelp and keep refreshing the waitlist. If you're aiming for a 6 to 7 PM dinner slot, start checking around 3 PM. A gratuity is automatically added for groups of six or more, and they offer a cash discount. Use a clean plate as a communal plate to stack cooked food while you continue grilling. It helps you maximize your 2-hour seating time.

    Jeslyn X.

Great meat quality and variety - the meat was tender overall. Their chicken wings were surprisingly good, and the butter squash soup was yum too. The plum juice was too sweet for my liking, and the creme brulee isn't highly recommended. Service was good; they changed the grilling net pretty quickly each time. The booth was however a bit small for two people sitting. Overall a good spot for Japanese BBQ AYCE. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 3.5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 4/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 4/5 OVERALL - 3.7

The items that took the longest to come were the pho but this was acceptable since we weren't in a rush. The satay pho had a good kick to it and there was quite a bit of rare beef inside. Next time I would probably do a little bit of everything for their toppings. I think more noodles could have been added for a large pho but I was full. The service was okay after that, not as attentive as they could've been and we had to ask for things a couple times but I understand as they were very packed. Everyone was still very kind regardless. They were served with many sides and the cheesy corn was our personal favourite. Their other sides were also alright but again nothing too special. It was a very packed day so it was quite loud in the restaurant and we were almost yelling at each other from across the table, so if anyones looking for a more intimate spot, I'd go elsewhere. But again this is not their fault and is to be expected in larger popular places. It is a drinking spot too so that was the vibe they had with lots of chatter and fun bring had. Tip: There's plenty of parking if you get here before noon when it opens…read more My friend, Keri, asked if I wanted to do lunch with her last Thursday at Shinta Japanese BBQ. I had never been here and said yes. She had booked a reservation for Thursday at noon. I was working from home and drove over here in roughly twenty minutes. I didn't get Keri's message that Shinta had called her while both of us were commuting. The eatery had cancelled her reservation due to a "kitchen incident." Vague. I witnessed folks going into the eatery at noon, so it was still open for business. It's why I've taken off a star. I get that incidents happen. It wasn't serious enough to shut down the eatery. Cancelling thirteen minutes before the reservation time wasn't the best, either. Take 2. Keri got us in on Civic Holiday at noon. We hoped that there wouldn't be any issues. The reservation was a go. We were both off for the day, which worked out perfectly. I got there and parked. I saw a huge truck in front of the doors. A male staffer came over to my car. He looked at me and paused. He told me in Cantonese to park a bit further back because the truck would have a hard time leaving. Everyone else had parked closer to the truck already. I nodded and parked a row back. Keri and I watched a huge kitchen appliance get moved into the eatery. We then walked in. The man who had spoken to me welcomed us in English. I also heard Mandarin and Vietnamese spoken by staff. He found Keri's reservation and we got a corner booth. Yay! This eatery currently has Japanese BBQ lunch sets that start at $15.99 weekdays from noon to 4 pm. Such a steal! We got laminated menus. There's also a QR code on each table for the online version. There are three combo sets that all have these components: - Meat - Sushi - Salad * - Rice * - Soup * - Dessert * means items are fixed. The others have some flexibility to choose what you'd like. We opted for combos A and C. We essentially tried everything in our combos, which was fun. We got these items in combo A ($15.99): - Chef salad - Fried chicken - Steamed rice - Chicken marinated with shio koji - Thinly sliced pork belly - Japanese-style sausage with mozzarella - Seasonal veggies with king oyster mushrooms - Miso soup - Crème brûlée Combo C ($22.99) had these items: - Chef salad - Yuzu mayo fried shrimp - Steamed rice - AAA flat-iron steak - Toro beef with garlic sauce - Veggie platter - Scallops (2) - Miso soup - Mango sago Each combo had a choice of sushi. We ended up having three sushi choices in total: - California roll - Black dragon roll - Salmon taco Service was excellent. Servers were attentive clearing empty plates and refilling our pitcher with water. Grilling our food was fun and therapeutic. The chicken did stick the most on the grill. Otherwise, we had a good time using tongs to cook everything. Each combo came with kimchi, pickled cucumber, garlic, and lettuce. We loved the sides and ended up eating all the sliced garlic, both grilled and raw. Thoughts: - The proteins were delicious. They were flavourful and enjoyable to cook. They were all my favourites. - The seafood was excellent. The scallops were yummy. The yuzu mayo fried shrimp were massive! The sauce was yummy. - I loved the veggies. Button and king oyster mushrooms. Asparagus. Zucchini. All delicious. - The staples (salad, miso soup, and steamed rice) were perfect. I especially loved the miso dressing in the salad. I'm a soup person and it was a must. The steamed rice complemented the proteins and veggies nicely. - The sushi wasn't great. Not horrible. Nothing to write home about. This place specializes in BBQ and should stick to it. - The desserts were perfect. I loved the creamy crème brûlée custard with the crunchy top and refreshing mango sago. They were the perfect end to our meal. I used the women's washroom before we left. It was clean. No issues. We had a great lunch on our second attempt here. The Japanese BBQ was excellent. Getting sushi is unnecessary. However, it did come with our combos. Just know that it was okay, but nothing to write home about. (336)
