A brunch spot with a large menu, cute interior, and board games for entertainment. Here's what we got: Creamy rose bacon penne 4/5 - It was good, cooked to perfection. Sauce was good since it was made with gochujang rose cream, bacon, onion and cheese. Portion was on the smaller side but still delicious. Vanilla latte 3/5 - Didn't have as much coffee taste as I'd like for a latte. It was creamy and milky, but a tad too milky for my liking. Buttermilk pancakes with mixed fruits 4/5 - Great for sharing! It's fluffy and cooked nicely. I liked the fruits that came with it. Chicken and waffles 5/5 - Loved the fried boneless chicken thighs paired with the waffles and spicy mayo. Would get this again next time! Overall, it was super comfortable for seating and dining here. A little short staffed imo, it was sometimes hard to get the servers attention since they were making coffee, serving, and checking out the bill for patrons around the restaurant.

Always been a fan of A Corner Cafe, and so excited that they opened a 3rd location, now in Richmond Hill! Still in its soft opening phase, they took over the space of Cafe 85 and turned it into a cozy spot with boardgames available and a really attractive brunch and drinks menu! We 100% really enjoyed the eggs benny and the super crispy chicken and waffles (waffles just needed to be a tad more crispy, like the ones at the Markham location). The only dish we didn't enjoy as much was the squid ink seafood pasta at our last visit. The flavour was delicious, don't get me wrong, it's just that the presentation was a bit off and pasta was a tad overcooked. Overall, a really cute brunch spot :) Would love to visit again to try more items; we were also eyeing the pancakes and french toasts, but ordering 3 mains was already overdoing it for just the 2 of us hahaha.

This space was previously Cafe 85. The interior is much the same but there is now a shelf with board games. Menu is somewhat similar with a focus on breakfast and brunch items with some pasta and rice bowl options. What was ordered: Steak and Mushroom eggs Benny Smoked duck breast energy bowl with purple rice Buttermilk pancakes with fresh fruit In general food and service was okay. The duck tasted more like ham due to the smoking. Pancakes did not fall into the light and fluffy category but more in the heavy and dense category. Service was attentive. Not a lot to set them apart from other similar establishments. Better than a 3 but not quite a 4. 3.5 (I rounded up).

My favourite though, has to be the classic, butter croissant. I picked up a strawberry short cake for a family dinner, and oh my gosh, it was so yummy. The cake was made out of layers of chiffon cake (super light and airy) and a delicious whipped cream with strawberries pieces nestled between the layers. I've only done take out there, but they do have a small area with seating, including space outdoors for warmer months. The service is good, staff are friendly and efficient. Even if there's a line, you're not really waiting that long. The location is easy to get to from Finch Station, but if you're traveling by car, parking may be a bit tough to find, though there is street parking and a paid lot a couple blocks further north by the TTC lot.

The coveted Dubai Chewy cookie sits next to the cash area. You can get a box of 4 or singles. We got a box of 4, with tax....just over 27 bucks. Was it worth it? I would say YES! The coating was soft and chewy with a generous amount of filling with the kataifi giving a nice crunch. This is definitely a treat.

We arrived at the small plaza with a small parking lot today (Saturday) around 10:15 a.m. & luckily enough, it was a quiet start to the day as parking was plentiful though I can imagine it being a bit hectic during busy times. This location (there are 2 others) is in the plaza right next to the Richmond Hill location for AI Sushi. As soon as we entered, we were promptly greeted & seated at a nice corner table. Shortly after that, a nice gentleman came to placed a QR code at our table asking if we've been here before. After we said no, he explained to us how to order using the QR code. We can all scan and order individually then it shows up as one large order for the table. I think he said he can split the bill if needed & we would just need to let him know. The place itself was nice. A bit above casual with around 20 tables inside. Well light and seemed clean. I ordered the Thai red curry pasta with clams, hubby and our friend both ordered the chicken and waffles, and my cousin ordered the mushroom benedict. We all ordered a drink (hubby a flat white with the rest ordering some type of latte). Our food came pretty quickly. My pasta was delicious and had good heat (spicy kick) to it & the red curry sauce was full of deep rich flavors. I enjoyed the clams but they were a bit small so it's taste got overpowered by the sauce. I would have preferred it if they gave me fewer but larger clams. I had a taste of my hubby's fried chicken & it was really good. The batter was well seasoned & crispy but not oily and the chicken thigh was moist. The staff know what they are doing there. We were asked whether we are enjoying our food & they always made sure our water glasses were full. I highly recommend this place & am looking forward to my next visit there!

There was another person preparing drinks and we only saw him come out from behind the counter when there were no drink orders. It took a while for her to clear our table. At one point she stood behind the counter with a look on her face that could be best described as '...what do I do first..' What was ordered: Kale Caesar Salad - fresh croutons with generous bits of bacon; very lightly dressed Chicken and Waffles - 2 drumsticks and a breast served with 4 pieces of waffle and a small side salad Shrimp Eggs Benny - 2 deep fried shrimp patties; served with baby potatoes and a side salad The chicken was very crispy and still juicy but based on the colour of the fry the oil needs to be changed. It came with 2 small containers of syrup (not real maple syrup) and some that looked like plum sauce. The potatoes on the eggs Benny were good but when you deep fry the shrimp patty you wonder what other filler there might be in the patties. Service was decent despite the fact that there was one person who served and cleaned. An okay experience....not sure it warrants another return.

One small downside: the hot drinks (at least the latte I ordered) weren't served very hot, which could be improved. The only reason I'd rate it three stars is due to one staff member, a male server who came across as quite rude. When I asked him for a spoon for my pasta, he responded with a visibly annoyed expression, which was honestly off-putting. If I didn't know he was just one of the staff, I probably wouldn't consider coming back

The Korean french toast has an amazing crunch on the outside and super moist and soft brioche inside. The four slices looked big but was very easy to demolish. PB & J Hamburger was interesting! That is definitely a brunchy sounding dish and it did not disappoint. It was a delicious, messy, goopy burger with so much flavour. Burrata arugula salad with long thin strips of prosciutto was very light. The fig wedges were sweet and this dish was a great starter without being too heavy.
