Tried this out with friends, and the food and atmosphere were amazing! It was very busy, yet the layout is not cramped in any way so it didn't bother us so much. There's plenty of games to bring to your table to play too. The menu was very cute! It came in the form of a newspaper, so I thought that was a nice stylistic choice. Lots of variety on food. I got the Rosé Bacon Penne Pasta, which had gochujang in it and it was the perfect level of spice! I've always wanted to try it, and now I'm dying to come back to have this dish again. The only thing I would say is that it's a bit of a small portion for its price, but was still worth it to get.
February 15, 2026 - I got the breakfast with egg, ham, home fries and bread. It was a really good breakfast. Nothing special, but no complaints. Standard breakfast meal.
Went here with a few friends, honestly super disappointed... The service wasn't good, the servers were literally sitting at a table. For the amount of money i paid, i expected some decent food, but was super disappointed when the food not only didn't look appetizing but it tasted really bland. Surprising the strawberry waffle tasted great, with it not being too overwhelmingly sweet and a good balance of strawberries and ice cream.
Came here for lunch today, would give it a 3.5 star but I rounded up to 4 since there are no half points. Place is nice and spacious, felt clean. There are games at the side if you want to stay and hang out at the cafe and play a few games with friends. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered 2 dishes. Chicken and waffles and the mushroom and bacon Benny. Starting with the chicken and waffles, waffles were okay but could have used something, maybe could have been a bit crunchier or with some kind of flavour or twist. The chicken, which is the star of the dish was very good. Seasoned and cooked beautifully, very juicy and nice crispy skin. It comes with salad, which in all honestly seems like those grocery tubs which they put a light dressing. (There was barely any dressing and it felt like you were just eating rabbit food). The mushroom and bacon Benny had great flavour. A very nice sauce and those mushrooms were really good. It comes with the same salad I reviewed in the first dish (blah) and some fries. The fries were okay, but it is definately the frozen ones similar to Costco breaded fries if that is what you are into. Service was fine as the food came quick, would have been nice though if someone at least came to check on you as the place wasn't that busy. I could have used more dressing for the salad. Overall it's a good option and the price point is pretty fair. I don't recall a menu item over $20 I would go again and try some of the other eggs Benny dishes, but hopefully they can do better with the salad
I found this cafe to be such a chill and tranquil spot. Their coffee, brunch, waffles, crepes, and pasta were all fantastic! Definitely worth a visit!
Super cute little breakfast/brunch place! It was so adorable inside and had a wall full of board games you could grab and play for free. Service was amazing and our waitress was very nice! The layout of some of the tables were odd as it was one long table but multiple parties were seated at the same table. Might be awkward if you sit next to someone you don't know. Food: - Matcha: 4/5 stars. Im not a big matcha person but this matcha was good. It wasn't too sweet and the colour was beautiful. They also added cute coffee art ! So adorable - Broccoli Cheddar Soup: 3.5/5 stars. I didn't think it was anything special and for the price of it, I thought the portion would be bigger. It was more creamy than cheddary. Could have used slightly more flavour from both the broccoli and the cheddar. - Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict: 3.5/5 stars. I've had better eggs Benedict. The bread it came on was not toasted which surprised me. I ordered hollandaise sauce on the side and added it to my eggs benny. Personally, it lacked in flavour and I had to add a lot of salt to have some flavour. The fries were really good though. Overall, nice cute place! We played jenga while we were there. The overall place was very aesthetic and the presentation of the food was beautiful but I don't think the price is justifiable for the portion side and taste.

The drinks are fantastic, but that's where the compliments stop. The servers are a bit nonchalant and half-attentive. The actual food is underwhelming at best. The condensed milk toast was decent, but the eggs benny was borderline edible. Everything except the costco fries was bland with no seasoning. The pulled beef benny was probably the worst eggs benny I've ever had. The poached egg was not runny. It was cooked to hard boiled. When I asked for a new runny egg, they kindly made me a new one but it was still overcooked. The server did ask if I wanted them to make me another, but I declined since it wouldn't have saved the dish anyways. The beef had no taste, the egg had no taste, the hollandaise had no taste, the bread had no taste. I could somewhat taste the herbs and spices in the beef stew but without any salt it was just a mushy mess that tasted like water. Even after adding salt and pepper it could not save the dish. There was just barely any flavour or seasoning on anything. It's kind of cool that they have board games, but I wouldn't come back here for brunch if that's the quality of food they put out. The place was also half empty at noon on a weekend if that says anything...
I was looking forward to brunch here because their menu seemed diverse, and I remember enjoying their dessert waffles a few years ago. Overall, my experience here was alright. Starting with the Vietnamese latte, I expected a stronger, more full-bodied roast that packed a punch, similar to traditional Vietnamese coffee. Vietnamese coffee is paired with condensed milk, so the strength of the coffee flavour needs to balance out the sweetness of the milk. However, what I ended up getting was just a very sweet latte, so that was disappointing. In terms of food, the standout was the crispiness and seasoning of the fried chicken. No thick batter, just all crunch. I wish the omelette and waffles were just as amazing, but they were just "ok". I found the waffles a bit dry, even with syrup. Came here and ordered two of their hojicha lattes. Could definitely taste the matcha in it, the drink was on point. Would certainly want to come back to try their waffles.

They do have a sign on the tables that say that during rush hour they may limit your seating to 1 hour, which is definitely not enough time to start a game. However, despite coming on a Sunday lunch time we never got rushed to leave which was nice. Food wise, it was decent. I ordered the smoked salmon benny, which came with fries and salad. The salad was nicely dressed with a light vinaigrette and the fries were really crispy. The eggs themself was soft and runny but I wish they paired it on a different bread, as the toast was really hard and was difficult to cut. Nothing else bad I can say about this dish but it wasn't quite a wow dish. Price wise it was compariable to other brunch places, and I thought was fair considering they did include a quite a few pieces of smoked salmon and I was really full afterwards. We came for an early brunch on a weekday. There was only one other occupied table when we arrived, but by the time we left, there were a couple other occupied tables. There's booth seating on one side of the restaurant, a large communal table in the centre, and small tables on the other side. There are two shelves filled with a plethora of board games. The menu is quite large and comprises dishes like beef chilli, rice bowls, pasta, pancakes, snacks, spring rolls, waffles or crepes, omelettes, toasts, breakfast, and egg Benedict. The drink menu is quite extensive as well. Currently, there are drink specials on weekdays. We ordered chicken and waffles, a pork bowl, coffee, and a strawberry matcha latte. The chicken and waffles come with large pieces of chicken. The chicken was fried so well. The pork bowl was filled with toppings and very tasty. The coffee was disappointing, though; it was weak and watery. The matcha latte, on the other hand, was much better. I loved the strawberry bites included in it.

Shrimp, Mushroom, Spinach Pasta w/cream sauce - this pasta was amazing! My daughter had all the shrimp, but I tried some of the pasta. The cream sauce was delicious! I would definitely order this for myself next time. For drinks, my daughter got a grape slush, Americano and coffee for my husband, and I had a tea. Unfortunately, midway through eating, a fly got in the dining area and was walking on my cup (handle and the rim of the cup). Disappointing as I still had over half of my tea left unfinished. Staff were friendly and courteous. Although not super attentive, as I saw another elderly patron waving quite frantically to get their attention.

It seems the business may have changed ownership already with simple renovations done, but it is still very good in terms of both taste and service. We ordered a few dinners, and each dish was nicely prepared and well presented. The quality of the food remained consistent, and the flavors were enjoyable throughout the meal. The service was also attentive and friendly like before, which added to the overall experience. We really enjoyed our visit and were pleasantly surprised by how well everything was maintained. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to come back again. read more
A neighbourhood spot that does breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Came for brunch and the restaurant was about 1/4 full. There was only one server for the entire restaurant during my time there, which definitely impacted the experience there. They also have a shelf of board games for you to play and keep kids entertained which is a nice touch. Food here is good, with some hit or misses. Here's what we got: Vietnamese Latte 5/5 - Enjoyed this, had a nice latte art on the top. Just what I needed to start my day. Wasn't too strong like I'm use to for Vietnamese iced coffees though. Chicken and Mushroom Fettuccine 3.5/5 - Surprisingly this came out in a green sauce. It's a spinach sauce with boneless chicken and white mushroom. Thought this dish was okay. Shakshuka with sausage 4/5 - This was definitely not an authentic shakshuka dish, but hit the spot for me. Unfortunately my eggs were fully cooked and not runny at all, which was a tad disappointing. Came with sausage and a bread for dipping. Overall, I've been to their other locations before and enjoyed their eggs bennys. This time around, I think I just ordered the wrong items, but was still enjoyable imo. read more

It's been a while since I've been here (last time was pre-covid). Came here for brunch on a weekend and it was busy. Waited around 10 minutes for a table. I noticed the game boards and kids toys on the shelf to the side of the wall - a great idea, especially to keep little ones occupied. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and hubby ordered the Pork Bowl. Pork bowl was flavourful, waffles were crunchy but the chicken had more batter than meat. Price point is pretty reasonable for the portion given. Note: the washroom was disgusting. Definitely need to be more on top on maintaining it. Would I come again? Yes - they have a pretty large menu so I'd like to come back again to try other items. read more
This is a nice place to have a gathering with friends. The cafe is quite spacious inside with a large table in the middle . I like the tables are spacious . They have lots of board games selection for you to choose from, and I saw some baby toys too which is nice to have for those with young kids/toddlers. The food are reasonable priced. We ordered the mix fruit crepes, the Vietnamese latte, and also the sweet potatoe fries . I thought the viet latte was tasty, and really enjoyed it. My daughter loved the crepes , and sweet potatoes fries was perfect to munch on while doing some work. There is free wifi for use, and it works. read more
3.5/5 Sunday brunch. This was my 2nd visit in a month, last time with friend and this time introduced to my family. This is a popular cafe and was full on a Sunday morning. We ordered cream of broccoli soup, meatball spaghetti, fried chicken benny and smoke salmon benny. Same problem as last visit, first dish arrived then waited very long for 2nd & 3rd dishes, soup came after spaghetti and should be the other way round. Staff were insufficient when the cafe was full so orders were a bit messed up. Meatball spaghetti too salty and spaghetti a bit overcooked, otherwise foods were delicious. This is a nice cosy cafe, I sincerely hope they could improve on sequence of meal serving so clients on the same table could enjoy food together rather than one eating and one waiting forever. Plenty of options for both food & games, their food never misses - always a good time here! A Corner Cafe is usually my goto brunch place. I had the day off and the wife was at work so I decided to drop by. I'm a big fan of their decor, a mix of sleek modern with some rusticness. The seats are made of metal though so they're not the most comfortable, although I'm sure the booths are better. I got their brunch special which was a thick toast for $8. It comes with a coffee but for $2 I upgraded it to a Vietnamese coffee. The toast was a nice snack, with the right amount of butteriness and sweetness. The coffee itself was fairly underwhelming, tasting more like a typical sweet latte than Vietnamese coffee. The service was good, since its a week day it's not overly busy. I'll probably come again on a weekday although I'll probably get something more filling next time. read more
Really good brunch place. It's easily super busy so make sure you come and beat the rush or come later so there is less wait time. We ordered the chicken n waffles and chicken Benedict both were really good dishes. The chicken was nice and crispy and the waffles had a nice buttermilk taste. The service was a bit slow and severely understaffed but our server made sure we were aware that our dishes were coming soon. read more

Can't believe this is the first time I'm doing review for this cafe. I had a lot of take out during the pandemic and came here once before. The matcha latte was perfection. Got the fried chicken Benedict which was also very good, it was a lot of food! I wish they had a tad more hollandaise sauce, other than that it was a good portion for the price I paid. A board game café, brunch spot, coffee shop all rolled into one. The most prominent part about this is the long table dividing the restaurant from regular tables and their booth seating. They have a large selection of board games and encourage their customers to play the games. Pork roll - These large rice rolls are in the south East Asian style with a rice wrap around their contents. The rolls themselves was a lack luster, with mainly veggies (lettuce, cucumber, carrots) and a sliver of pork. They do have their own fish sauce mix, but the lack of proteins is a bit disappointing in this item, would not recommend. Bacon egg benny - Next up is a traditional brunch item with bacon. This too was a bit lack lustering compared to the likes of Alchemy (which is also more $$). Egg benny was served on a good amount of bacon and mushrooms, but on a piece of toast (I'd prefer an English muffin). Salad was good and fries was just standard fries. We were given ketchup and mayo cost a bit more... All in all, experience was just ok, would not come here for the food. I haven't tried the drinks nor spend the day playing the board games. A CORNER CAFE (Review for North York Location) . . They recently opened a second location in North York. I've never been to their Markham location so I wasn't really sure what to expect. They offer a variety of coffees, bubble tea, brunch, lunch and dessert. There's also a wall of board games if you want to come hang with some friends. . . Chicken and Waffles (4.3/5) Latte (4/5) . . The chicken and waffles are soooo delicious! I definitely see how it's their most recommended dish. The chicken was crispy, flavourful and juicy on the inside. The waffles were light and fluffy. The dish is on the heavy side so I wished they would've gave a bit more of the salad. Other than that, it's a really solid dish. Nothing too special about the latte, but it was good. They're also offering a 10% off discount right now so it's a perfect time to go try them out. read more

Came by recently during the holidays and wow they were so busy. Waited for 15-20 min for a table for four and later got seated at the communal table in the middle. It was a full house and I think there was a staff shortage. It took a while to order and for food and drinks to arrive. Our table got three of the rice bowls and those came out faster than the chicken and waffles. The chicken came out fresh from the fryer and was super hot. There is maple syrup on the tables for the waffles. Our drinks were pretty good but lattes and espressos came out faster than the fruit slushes and milk teas. I think in the future I would try to avoid the busy times if I can. But the food and service is good :) read more

Chicken waffles was perfectly cooked and juicy. Seems expensive but once you taste it, you won't complain. The fruit tea is very fragrant but I suspect it's loaded with added sugar and fruit juices. The pasta was better than expected! Try it. The avocado shake was of a good consistency and not overly thick. I'd get it again. My buddy liked the mango smoothie. read more

decided to return to this spot for lunch and it did not disappoint! It was nice to see how all the tables were very spaced out with sanitizer at each table -- it felt pretty safe and sanitary. There were also plastic screens up between the tables. We ordered the smoked salmon benny and the mushroom pasta. Both came in pretty decent portions for the price and were very tasty!! The fries were super crispy and there was a good balance of toppings on the benny. The pasta has a good amount of sauce and was soo tasty Would return to this spot for lunch!! read more

We were looking for a cute little brunch place and found A Corner Cafe. This place is in a strip mall across from Markville. This place was super busy when we walked in. I thought it would be more of a restaurant due to the brunch items that they served but they have free wifi here and are okay with you working as well. In fact, I think they want you to stay longer because they had a shelf of board games and books/magazines for you to use. There was media in both English and Chinese as well. The menu was a lot of drinks, some brunch/breakfast items, and snacks and desserts. It seemed more like a hang out cafe than a restaurant but was busy. Confusing vibe. We each ordered a different eggs benny. My boyfriend had the fried chicken benedict. One of the eggs was a little overcooked so it was poached hard rather than a nice runny medium or easy. The other one was okay. He also had a comment that the layers were a little oddly shaped so that there was an excess of toast after the egg ran out. The chicken was tasty though. We also both really enjoyed our fries. I had a smoked salmon benedict. Mine was good. Also on the same rye toast. I did notice that one of my eggs was the opposite of my boyfriends and pretty much exploded when I cut into it. A little bit of inconsistency there. The tables are a little close together here. You can definitely clearly hear the conversations from people 2 tables away. The service was also a little slow. It was hard to flag down people with so many people there. read more
Decided to come here one day as it looked like there were a great selection of food options available, and I was not disappointed! I ordered the chicken and waffle and the chicken benedict. Both dishes were great with sizable portions, and the service was good. There was only one server at the time, and at times, it felt overwhelming for them serving the entire restaurant, but that did not hinder service at all. There was a good selection of board games available for you to play while you chat and eat! The interior was well designed and created a good atmosphere for a cafe. read more
I've been here a few times before COVID and I can't believe I never left a review for this place. My review is based on my recent visit during COVID for takeout. I decided to write one during this time because I want to compliment them for doing a great job in regards to safety measures. Here's what I like about this place. They have ample space in the restaurant for customers and staffs to follow physical distancing rules. The long communal table in the middle of the restaurant now divides the restaurant in two sections. When I walked in to pick up my takeout, staff approached me to remind me to wear a mask (my bad for forgetting!) I like that I can see into their open kitchen and that all of their staffs including the people making the food have masks on. As I was waiting for my order inside, I took a seat at the right hand side of the restaurant while other diners sit on the left hand side. After I retrieve my order and leave, the staff sanitize the seat immediately. I ordered my go-to chicken waffle. I love the fact that the cutlery is packaged up. They separate the syrup and sauce in separate containers. The chicken is still very crispy and the portion is just the same as dining in. As a customer, I feel safe and confident to return and even dine in next time. read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday, and we managed to get seats for two, but the place filled up pretty quickly after we sat down. The place looked super cute, and they even had a little section for boardgames. My partner and I ended up getting the viet coffee, and he got chicken and waffles while I got the chicken benny. It was delicious, and the chicken was tender and seasoned well. My partner enjoyed his dish as well. The viet coffee was delicious, yet not too strong. In terms of prices, it's comparable to most brunch places in the area. There was only one person serving for the whole place, so service was quite slow, and we had to flag down multiple times for the bill. Otherwise, a decent brunch place with cute interior. read more
I can't believe I never knew about this cafe sooner. I don't really frequent cafes in Markham because in Markham I only think about Asian food but I definitely will be coming back here! The smoked salmon Benny and fried chicken waffles both were soo good! The eggs were perfectly runny on a bed of arugula and toasted garlic bread. The salad was lightly dressed with an addictive sweet and tangy dressing. The amount of dressing was bang on as I hate overly dressed salads. It was just enough to give it some flavour. Fries were really crispy, I think they're Costco fries. Delicious. Fries chicken was amazinggg. I believe they used a Taiwanese popcorn chicken seasoning/batter? I don't know but it was just good, not too oily or dry. Very juicy and tender actually. My drink was like XXL,(I think that's standard for their drinks) loved that for me! There was a lot of ice in it but it surprisingly didn't dilute the drink much. I really want to come back soon to try their other menu items because there's a lot of variety including pancakes, toasts, pastas, rice bowls, Chinese desserts, etc. read more
Third time here because I'm obsessed. This time I got the Chicken Fresh Roll and it was super delicious! It has spring mix (salad), cucumbers, celery, carrots, and fried chicken inside. The chicken was still super crispy and made the entire roll so flavourful. It came with spicy mayo which added a nice kick, will definitely try the other rolls in the future! read more
