There's plenty of games to bring to your table to play too. The menu was very cute! It came in the form of a newspaper, so I thought that was a nice stylistic choice. Lots of variety on food. I got the Rosé Bacon Penne Pasta, which had gochujang in it and it was the perfect level of spice! I've always wanted to try it, and now I'm dying to come back to have this dish again. It seems the business may have changed ownership already with simple renovations done, but it is still very good in terms of both taste and service. We ordered a few dinners, and each dish was nicely prepared and well presented. The quality of the food remained consistent, and the flavors were enjoyable throughout the meal. A neighbourhood spot that does breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Came for brunch and the restaurant was about 1/4 full. There was only one server for the entire restaurant during my time there, which definitely impacted the experience there. They also have a shelf of board games for you to play and keep kids entertained which is a nice touch. Food here is good, with some hit or misses. For the amount of money i paid, i expected some decent food, but was super disappointed when the food not only didn't look appetizing but it tasted really bland. It comes with salad, which in all honestly seems like those grocery tubs which they put a light dressing. (There was barely any dressing and it felt like you were just eating rabbit food). The mushroom and bacon Benny had great flavour. A very nice sauce and those mushrooms were really good. It comes with the same salad I reviewed in the first dish (blah) and some fries. The fries were okay, but it is definately the frozen ones similar to Costco breaded fries if that is what you are into. Service was fine as the food came quick, would have been nice though if someone at least came to check on you as the place wasn't that busy. I could have used more dressing for the salad. Overall it's a good option and the price point is pretty fair. Super cute little breakfast/brunch place! It was so adorable inside and had a wall full of board games you could grab and play for free. Service was amazing and our waitress was very nice! The drinks are fantastic, but that's where the compliments stop. The servers are a bit nonchalant and half-attentive. The actual food is underwhelming at best. The condensed milk toast was decent, but the eggs benny was borderline edible. Everything except the costco fries was bland with no seasoning. The pulled beef benny was probably the worst eggs benny I've ever had. The poached egg was not runny. It was cooked to hard boiled. When I asked for a new runny egg, they kindly made me a new one but it was still overcooked. The server did ask if I wanted them to make me another, but I declined since it wouldn't have saved the dish anyways. The beef had no taste, the egg had no taste, the hollandaise had no taste, the bread had no taste. I could somewhat taste the herbs and spices in the beef stew but without any salt it was just a mushy mess that tasted like water. Even after adding salt and pepper it could not save the dish. There was just barely any flavour or seasoning on anything. It's kind of cool that they have board games, but I wouldn't come back here for brunch if that's the quality of food they put out. I was looking forward to brunch here because their menu seemed diverse, and I remember enjoying their dessert waffles a few years ago. Overall, my experience here was alright. Starting with the Vietnamese latte, I expected a stronger, more full-bodied roast that packed a punch, similar to traditional Vietnamese coffee. Vietnamese coffee is paired with condensed milk, so the strength of the coffee flavour needs to balance out the sweetness of the milk. However, what I ended up getting was just a very sweet latte, so that was disappointing. In terms of food, the standout was the crispiness and seasoning of the fried chicken. No thick batter, just all crunch. I wish the omelette and waffles were just as amazing, but they were just "ok". I found the waffles a bit dry, even with syrup. It's been a while since I've been here (last time was pre-covid). Came here for brunch on a weekend and it was busy. Waited around 10 minutes for a table. I noticed the game boards and kids toys on the shelf to the side of the wall - a great idea, especially to keep little ones occupied. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and hubby ordered the Pork Bowl. Pork bowl was flavourful, waffles were crunchy but the chicken had more batter than meat. Price point is pretty reasonable for the portion given. Note: the washroom was disgusting. Definitely need to be more on top on maintaining it. Would I come again? A nice option to meet up with some friends. The restaurant is quite big and spacious inside and they have a good selection of board games that you can play. They do have a sign on the tables that say that during rush hour they may limit your seating to 1 hour, which is definitely not enough time to start a game. However, despite coming on a Sunday lunch time we never got rushed to leave which was nice. Food wise, it was decent. I ordered the smoked salmon benny, which came with fries and salad. The salad was nicely dressed with a light vinaigrette and the fries were really crispy. The eggs themself was soft and runny but I wish they paired it on a different bread, as the toast was really hard and was difficult to cut. Nothing else bad I can say about this dish but it wasn't quite a wow dish. Price wise it was compariable to other brunch places, and I thought was fair considering they did include a quite a few pieces of smoked salmon and I was really full afterwards. A Corner Cafe is usually my goto brunch place. I had the day off and the wife was at work so I decided to drop by. I'm a big fan of their decor, a mix of sleek modern with some rusticness. The seats are made of metal though so they're not the most comfortable, although I'm sure the booths are better. I got their brunch special which was a thick toast for $8. It comes with a coffee but for $2 I upgraded it to a Vietnamese coffee. The toast was a nice snack, with the right amount of butteriness and sweetness. The coffee itself was fairly underwhelming, tasting more like a typical sweet latte than Vietnamese coffee. The service was good, since its a week day it's not overly busy. We were seated at the communal table and were offered a highchair for our little one. We ordered a few drinks, two apps, and 3 dishes. Cream of Broccoli - interesting as all the ingredients have very different and not necessarily complementing flavours. Can't say I'm a fan of this one. A board game café, brunch spot, coffee shop all rolled into one. The most prominent part about this is the long table dividing the restaurant from regular tables and their booth seating. They have a large selection of board games and encourage their customers to play the games. Pork roll - These large rice rolls are in the south East Asian style with a rice wrap around their contents. The rolls themselves was a lack luster, with mainly veggies (lettuce, cucumber, carrots) and a sliver of pork. They do have their own fish sauce mix, but the lack of proteins is a bit disappointing in this item, would not recommend. Bacon egg benny - Next up is a traditional brunch item with bacon. This too was a bit lack lustering compared to the likes of Alchemy (which is also more $$). Egg benny was served on a good amount of bacon and mushrooms, but on a piece of toast (I'd prefer an English muffin). Salad was good and fries was just standard fries. We were given ketchup and mayo cost a bit more... All in all, experience was just ok, would not come here for the food. I haven't tried the drinks nor spend the day playing the board games. Came by recently during the holidays and wow they were so busy. Waited for 15-20 min for a table for four and later got seated at the communal table in the middle. It was a full house and I think there was a staff shortage. It took a while to order and for food and drinks to arrive. Our table got three of the rice bowls and those came out faster than the chicken and waffles. The chicken came out fresh from the fryer and was super hot. There is maple syrup on the tables for the waffles. Our drinks were pretty good but lattes and espressos came out faster than the fruit slushes and milk teas. I think in the future I would try to avoid the busy times if I can. But the food and service is good :) read more

We each ordered a different eggs benny. My boyfriend had the fried chicken benedict. One of the eggs was a little overcooked so it was poached hard rather than a nice runny medium or easy. The other one was okay. He also had a comment that the layers were a little oddly shaped so that there was an excess of toast after the egg ran out. The chicken was tasty though. We also both really enjoyed our fries. I had a smoked salmon benedict. Mine was good. Also on the same rye toast. I did notice that one of my eggs was the opposite of my boyfriends and pretty much exploded when I cut into it. A little bit of inconsistency there. The tables are a little close together here. I've been here a few times before COVID and I can't believe I never left a review for this place. My review is based on my recent visit during COVID for takeout. I decided to write one during this time because I want to compliment them for doing a great job in regards to safety measures. Here's what I like about this place. They have ample space in the restaurant for customers and staffs to follow physical distancing rules. The long communal table in the middle of the restaurant now divides the restaurant in two sections. When I walked in to pick up my takeout, staff approached me to remind me to wear a mask (my bad for forgetting!) I like that I can see into their open kitchen and that all of their staffs including the people making the food have masks on. As I was waiting for my order inside, I took a seat at the right hand side of the restaurant while other diners sit on the left hand side. After I retrieve my order and leave, the staff sanitize the seat immediately. I ordered my go-to chicken waffle. I love the fact that the cutlery is packaged up. They separate the syrup and sauce in separate containers. The chicken is still very crispy and the portion is just the same as dining in. As a customer, I feel safe and confident to return and even dine in next time. read more

My bf ordered their traditional breakfast- eggs, sausage and toast. It came with fries, not breakfast potatoes. He said it was meh, and the sausages look and taste different. I ordered an avocado toast with poached eggs. Eggs were good, but there was no visible and noticeable avocado just a smear on top of a single toast. Side salad was good though.
