[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice busy brunch spot in Richmond Hill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Enjoyed that the chicken and waffles were well seasoned and the waffle was soft and sweet. The braised pork eggs benedict was tender and flavourful. Also enjoyed their matcha and hojicha lattes as both were bitter and rich. Service was quick and friendly. It is nice that they have a Yelp waitlist system. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill vibes and great spot for a date or to catch up with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The parking can be tricky, so give yourself enough time and patience.
My friends and I came here for lunch and two friends got the rice with pork belly and my other friend and I got the salmon eggs benny. I was surprised the eggs benny had some avocado and the poached eggs were quite runny. The home fries were actually perfection and they were my favourite part to the meal. For the salmon eggs benny, I've had better. Service was excellent and our waters were constantly refilled. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was extremely hot inside (and outside). I don't think they have air conditioner which is a downside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] :(
Chillax Coffee located along Leslie St. near Elgin Mills Rd E. serves up brunch and coffee. The menu consists of benedits, waffles and pancakes, burgers and sandwiches, pasta & rice, ramen, as well as omelettes. They have 3 locations - 2 in Richmond Hill and 1 in North York (which also has a small grocery store downstairs). This review will only be based on the food as we ordered a delivery order off Uber Eats (can't comment on the restaurant ambiance, service, or coffee)! Food wise, I ordered the chashu pork belly eggs benny (poached eggs, pickled cucumber, sliced chashu pork belly, arugula, guacamole, served on English muffins, topped with hollandaise sauce). The delivery order didn't take that long and the eggs benny was packed well. It also game with a side of seasoned potatoes as well. The restaurant kept the sauces separate which was great. The poached eggs were cooked well and although the chashu was fatty, the pickled cucumber and guacamole cut through the richness of the pork. The salad was also refreshing as well. Portions are big and I couldn't finish my potatoes. Overall, a decent chashu pork belly eggs benny! I'm located closer to the North York location so will have to try out that location sometime soon for brunch.
Absolutely loved this brunch at Chillax Coffee Perfectly brewed latte with beautiful latte art to start, followed by a killer plate of sliced steak, sunny-side eggs cooked just right, and a fresh, crisp salad with a pop of color from that gorgeous radish. Everything was well-balanced, flavourful, and plated with care. You can waitlist yourself on Yelp which makes it easy to get a table on a Sunday morning. There's a 1.5h sitting limit which they do enforce. The food is good, not my favourite spot but would rank it somewhere in the middle of my list. I had the fried chicken ramen. The noodle texture and soup were both tasty. The fried chicken could used a bit more seasoning. They have really good side potatoes. That was probably my favourite thing out of everything. Service was fine, it's a cute spot for brunch. There is limited parking space in the lot.
Great breakfast place with very flavorful morning coffee and latte. The chicken waffles stood out pretty well from the dishes we ordered. A well maintained breakfast place with great servers. Recommended!

No wait, but it was loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu and pricing aim for premium casual, like Milestones, and the food delivered--but service fell flat. Our server brought water, mentioned allergies, pointed to the QR menu, and disappeared until dropping the bill. For $30-$40 per person, a quick "How's your meal?" would've gone a long way. The seafood pasta and Seoul Fusion Udon were tasty and filling, though the lack of bread felt stingy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good décor and atmosphere, but poor service and limited value make it hard to recommend until those issues are fixed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
One of my favourite brunch spots. I love their eggs benny with duck. The potatoes are super crispy and delicious. I've also tried the char siu version which was good, but it was mainly all fat and slivers of meat. The eggs aren't overcooked and are runny inside. Their chicken and waffles is yummy, but not my favourite. I always enjoy getting their almond toffee latte too.
The food is amazing here! I came with my son and his teammates during a break inbetween their games. We had the classic breakfast, oxtail stew, waffles, mango smoothie and coffee. All were fully enjoyed. We especially reco the oxtail stew! The staff were friendly. The service was efficient. Note that the menu and ordering is via QR code but it was easy enough to flag a staff for our questions about the menu and food allergy and restrictions. Brought my gf here for civic holiday brunch. You have to kinda time your booking with some guesswork as they don't have actual reservation times. Their waitlist system pumps out a number of parties ahead of you. After picking up my gf and stopping at a red light 10 min into the drive, I put myself on the waitlist to see that there were 2 parties ahead of me. With around 15 min left in the drive I figured this would be perfect timing but instead got a call 5-7 min later telling me my table was ready LOL. As I was 8 min away I let the person on the phone know and they told me they'd have to give the table away but he told me to let him know once I was there. We arrived and as I opened the door I noticed they had reserved a table for us still! Pretty funny. I'm not sure if it's because we arrived as someone was finishing or if they knew we were close. Either way, we didn't have to wait at all. On to the food. They have a lot of interesting items you can order for brunch that you would typically only see on a lunch menu. My gf was craving brunch stuff so she opted for smoked duck eggs benedict. I wanted to try something unusual so I went for the oxtail & beef ribs stew (w/ garlic naan). The benedict was very good! Reminded me of Alchemy, NextDoor and Smash Kitchen quality which are the benchmark for me at the moment. I actually think I prefer this duck benedict to the one at Alchemy, which uses shredded/pulled duck. The duck slices just make way more sense. Potatoes were seasoned out the wazoo. I think they could've been even a slight, tad crispier on the outside but that's a nitpick. The oxtail and beef rib stew I thought the meat was very tender and there was a good amount of sauce for dipping my naan. To keep it real though, I do think the sauce could've used heavier seasoning (maybe that's just me though cuz I like rich flavours). Wendi, our server was extremely nice. I got an iced coconut latte to try at her recommendation. It was not on the drink menu on the wall and turns out it is a relatively new item according to her. I can see this drink being very popular. I don't often associate lattes with coconut but it worked! Yea, if there's one thing I think could use improvement it would be the reservation system. Alchemy also uses a waitlist system but you can enter in the time that you want to eat at and the estimated wait time on Yelp. But even better imo is the TouchBistro online reservation system that NextDoor and Smash Kitchen use. It's the most seamless because the guest can see available and unavailable times. I think this would definitely help the front of house staff too. Will definitely come back in the future to try other offerings!
I came here on a Tuesday morning, around 11:15 am, for a table of two. The place was only about 30-40% full so there was plenty of space with no need to make a reservation. I liked that they have a "join waitlist" on Google/Yelp so that's also a handy tool to give you an idea about how busy it is in real time. The place is a good-sized cafe, feels spacious, and is clean. I was immediately seated, brought waters, and a receipt to scan a QR code for ordering. Service was okay - after eating, they came around twice while we were chatting to fill our cups of water and they were quite timely with taking away dirty cups and dishes when we were done, but they staff are pretty quiet and don't interact very much with customers. We sat till about 12:30 pm and never felt rushed to leave. I ordered their THAI RED CURRY CLAM SPAGHETTI as combing through their Google photos, it seemed like a really popular pick. Curry isn't usually my go-to but I did really enjoy this flavor which was strong with a subtle kick and heat from the spice. My only real "bad" thing to say though is that the end was quite oily. Sauce was plenty and the texture of the noodles was good. There was a good amount of clams to pair, all of which were opened and ready to eat. Note, they are quite small in size. For my beverage, I ordered an AFFOGATO which was perfect. The ratio of vanilla ice cream to espresso was spot on. Coincidentally, I think the sweetness and creaminess from this drink paired well with my spaghetti to cut the heat. My friend ordered a hot latte and the art on it was beautiful! Overall, I love the presentation of this place which added to o the vibe, in addition to their decor. There's a decent amout of free parking space in the lot, but can be difficult to find spots on occasion just due to the sheer business of the plaza.
Really happy we stumbled across this place for Sunday brunch. I had the smoked salmon benny and both my eggs were poached perfectly! Slightly jammy and runny yolks, and they didn't skimp on the salmon. It was a perfect size portion with the little mounds of salad and potatoes. My partner got the chicken and waffles to try and he ate it all so I gotta assume he likes it. The waffles had a soft texture and the chicken was very well seasoned. It was not dry at all. I also got the BlackBerry lavender white mocha. OMG. I could get addicted to that. It was beautifully floral and I love the little heart latte art. It came in the most adorable mug too. The only disappointment was their calamari. They get it sent to them pre-breaded so it was very hard and the flavor was not great. It's fairly easy to bread it in house, but given their kitchen size, it can be a bit tedious to prepare and store fresh calamari. In this case, I would recommend removing it from the menu entirely. I'm not sure how many people like the item, but given they execute the rest of the menu so well, this is one item I think they can do without. Our server was so kind to even try getting a new batch prepared but sadly it was the same. Thank you to the staff for removing it from our bill. That was a really nice gesture. Staff here are absolutely the friendliest. And they're very efficient. It is a smaller place so check in on Yelp ahead of time to get in the wait list.

This is my first time at Chillax Coffee & it was a great experience. There is an option to join a waitlist on Google but on our way there (15 minute drive), we checked & both times it said that there is no wait. We arrived at the small plaza with a small parking lot today (Saturday) around 10:15 a.m. & luckily enough, it was a quiet start to the day as parking was plentiful though I can imagine it being a bit hectic during busy times. This location (there are 2 others) is in the plaza right next to the Richmond Hill location for AI Sushi. As soon as we entered, we were promptly greeted & seated at a nice corner table. Shortly after that, a nice gentleman came to placed a QR code at our table asking if we've been here before. After we said no, he explained to us how to order using the QR code. We can all scan and order individually then it shows up as one large order for the table. I think he said he can split the bill if needed & we would just need to let him know. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself was nice. A bit above casual with around 20 tables inside. Well light and seemed clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Thai red curry pasta with clams, hubby and our friend both ordered the chicken and waffles, and my cousin ordered the mushroom benedict. We all ordered a drink (hubby a flat white with the rest ordering some type of latte). Our food came pretty quickly. My pasta was delicious and had good heat (spicy kick) to it & the red curry sauce was full of deep rich flavors. I enjoyed the clams but they were a bit small so it's taste got overpowered by the sauce. I would have preferred it if they gave me fewer but larger clams. I had a taste of my hubby's fried chicken & it was really good. The batter was well seasoned & crispy but not oily and the chicken thigh was moist. The staff know what they are doing there. We were asked whether we are enjoying our food & they always made sure our water glasses were full. I highly recommend this place & am looking forward to my next visit there! read more

4.5/5 Today is a working day, but the cafe was totally packed and we waited for one hour to get in. Server would present the bill gently soon after customers finished the meal in order to free the table for the next round of guests. We ordered Thai Red Curry Clams Spaghetti, Pork Belly Chicken Banh Mi, rosy latte & house coffee. Thai red curry dish was a bit spicy and tasted so so, the Banh Mi tasted really good, the fried potatoes that came along were crispy, fresh and delicious. Food presentations were good, service was prompt and courteous. You could feel the energy and good vibe in the cafe. If I wouldn't need to wait that long, I won't mind to visit again. On a side note, the toilet bowl was stuck and was unpleasant, I had to tell the server to take care of it. read more

Don't be fooled by the name, as this is neither a chillax place or a cafe but a bustling busy brunch spot for asain fusion food items. It's rare to see both chicken and waffles with ramen on the same menu! I came on a random Thursday to be seated promptly at one of the few empty tables. I was looking to get some work done and take some meetings but quickly concluded this is NOT the right place to work as there is a constant stream of patrons looking for empty tables, a constant level of conversation noise and a 2 hour seating time limit. Regardless, girl needs to eat so I ordered their popular item of chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was really good. Two large generous chunks of juicy chicken in a light crispy batter. Loved that they used dark meat as that is my preference for fried chicken. The waffles were softer than I would like, but paired well with the texture of the chicken. Came on a weekday about half hour after opening and there was only one other table seated. Ordering was done via QR code at the table. We were just stopping by for a quick coffee fix so did not order any food items. There is free wifi. I got the rosy latte (rose flavoured). You can pick from a variety of milk options but there is no decaf. We also got the blackberry lavender white mocha. The drinks came out quickly and with very pretty latte art. The rose is a bit sweeter than the blackberry lavender but both are very fragrant and the flavours are subtle and not super over powering. Will be back to try their matcha houjicha lattes and food items!! Staff were very friendly and came in to check on us once in a while. The seating is pretty spacious and there is a lot of bright natural light. read more
Came here the other weekend to meet with a friend for afternoon coffee, and it was packed! Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our espresso-based drinks, noting how well-balanced & mellow the flavour was! Also satisfied our sweet tooth with a dessert waffle topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce drizzle. A great local spot for coffee chats & brunch! read more
Totally satisfied with my lunch here yesterday. I heard that this place gets pretty busy on the weekend so decided to come on a weekday to avoid the crowd. It was actually still pretty busy but luckily we got a table. My friend and I got the chicken & waffles and ramen to share. The food was amazing especially the fried chicken...so good! And I thoroughly enjoyed sipping away the matcha latte...so good! Such a welcoming place with friendly service and great food...will definitely be back soon! read more

So many good things to say after my first visit! For one, there's currently no extra charge for making a drink iced, the actual dream. Went in with a party of 7 on a Saturday morning. We were on the waitlist, and it was a decent wait in the restaurant for another large table ahead of us to finish. I'm usually big on getting traditional brunch items, but since we went after 11:30AM, the spaghetti was honestly such a good choice. Food came out pretty quick. The Thai red curry was so flavourful and there were so many clams. Portion was fairly large too which is always welcome! read more
Decent brunch spot with a variety of coffee drinks and lots of food options. In terms of food I still prefer the brunch food especially the chicken and waffles at Alchemy Coffee, but Chillax has a much more comfortable space and good service so it's a better spot for hanging out. read more

The chicken and waffles were delicious the waffles were so light and fluffy. The eggs Benedict not so much the hollandaise sauce looked like it broke and the taste was off Didn't take a picture but the coffee here is really good Staff don't talk much Nice and cozy place I think when we came their ac was broken as it was really hot and stuffy read more
Cute brunch place with nice quality of food and decent coffee. It gets really busy at weekends. Walk-in only. We waited for 15 minutes for our table, but we got the best table! It's the one by the window ( ) I had Pork Chashu Eggs Benedict, simply because pork Chashu isn't a common ingredient you see in brunch. It could get quite heavy with hollandaise sauce, but it's delicious! I love runny egg yolks and they nailed it. I also had a cup of latte to complete my brunch set. First of all the latte art was spot on and so pleasant to see. Coffee was alright. You won't be disappointed. I'd love to visit again. Definitely coming back for mushroom eggs benny! read more
Most dish is very well made. Wish I can give 4.5 star. Duck breast Benedict , deep fried chicken and waffle, char Siu ramen and pesto pasta are definitely worth to try! The reason I did not give 5 star is the small regular coffee seems the same size as medium coffee. Server is great! Limited car parking. Washroom is clean. I waited for 1.25 hours as I did not planned properly to go into the restaurant in the weekend. Book the table and plan well if you don't want to wait outside for long. What a nice find! A friend recommended Chillax for brunch and we tried to get in once on a Friday around 12:00pm but it was packed (which is an indication that it must be good!) upon our second attempt (arriving a bit earlier) we had our choice of tables. I love the decor and vibe of this café. Their menu has a wide variety to suit everyone's taste from Asian inspired to the typical western brunch items. Our first visit we tried the black garlic chasiu ramen where the broth was light yet flavourful. The egg was well cooked with that soft Centre that you would expect with a good bowl of ramen. The noodles were cooked just right making it a delicious experience. It comes with a nice side salad. Our other selection was the pork belly eggs Benedict. I'm more a traditional eggs Benedict kind of person but my husband really enjoyed it. The poached egg was nicely done and the homefries are the best I've had anywhere! Definitely get the hochicha latte to go with your meal. The mint yuzu soda was a delicious choice as well. We came back recently to introduce our friends from Vancouver to some good food in the GTA. Though we came earlier (11:30), it was already buzzing. The staff (and perhaps owner?) was super accommodating and was able to put together a large table for 8. Again, the quality and taste of the food and drinks was amazing. We opted for the ramen for the kids and they loved it (being picky ramen eaters). I got the chicken waffles. Their waffles were light and fluffy while the chicken lightly battered and juicy. It come with a spicy mayo and maple syrup on the side. The mango berry soda was just as good as the mint yuzu. This brunch place I very popular lock places and does. Asian fusion brunch food. With chicken and waffles that are Chinese style fried chicken and Benedict like char SIU on it. And ramen . The taste is decent. And the portion are fair . Price wise it is priced pretty competitive to other brunch places. The only issue is don't go in large groups as there is not enough space to accommodate most of the time. I would say it's. Good place for a friend or so to catch up. It's bright cafe style. Work fam has decided to have breakfast here BRIGHT & EARLY on a Friday morning; I don't think I was fully awake yet lmao. Chillax Coffee is located right beside AI Sushi in the same plaza - easy to find if you're coming up from south side, otherwise, the gas station blocks it completely from the NE corner. Cozy spot, it definitely got busier closer to lunch (~12pm) I'm not a morning person, coffee person nor am I a breakfast person lol. So I've decided to order something light from the menu - smoked salmon avocado toast and a peppermint hot chocolate. The portion was perfect. Everyone else ordered eggs benny with a side of greens and hash, which was a very popular item on the menu. You can top it with chasiu pork belly, smoked salmon, smoked duck breast, or Canadian bacon. Even though I didn't order a coffee, my hot chocolate came with latte art too :) Food was pretty good, service was friendly. I'd come back again for brunch to try other items. (It was just TOO early in the morning this time... I'm going back to bed lol.) read more
3.5-4 stars. Solid spot. These days it's definitely easier to get a table with the Yelp reservation line. I definitely like to drop by every now and then. The avocado toast and mushroom eggs Benny are my go to. I love the crispy potatoes as the sides for the eggs Benny. Good vibes and atmosphere too. read more
