Located on the 2nd floor at Yonge and Finch, Cafe n One is a bright, cute cafe serving Japanese inspired brunch items, drinks, pastas and desserts. . . Classic Breakfast 4/5 Chicken Karaage 3/5 Croffles 5/5 Green Tea Soufflé Pancake 4.3/5 Latte 4.8/5 . . We arrived around 10 minutes after open and there were already a handful of people seated. The drinks and food came out pretty quickly except the soufflé pancakes which takes 25minutes to prepare. My favourite was the croffle. For $10, you get 2 big pieces of croffle which tastes great with either whipped cream or syrup. The chicken karaage was kind of dry on its own, but dipping it in the syrup and eating it with the croffle made it better. If you want a hearty breakfast, the classic breakfast is a solid choice. The soufflé pancake was fluffy and delicious, well worth the wait. I was amazed by the detailed latte art as well. Highly recommend this cafe! read more

Cafe N One in North York is located on the second floor of a building at the corner of Yonge and Finch. It's cozy and overlooks the intersection. We happened to drop by the day of the massive Iranian protest, and were surprised by how much business it had, and also how soundproof the windows were. - Classic breakfast: lots of food! Pork belly was especially nice -- rich as crispy. - Karaage honey hot cake: Quite a bit of food too, hot fried chicken can't go wrong! - Ice Americano - Iced houjicha latte: didn't really get much houjicha flavour. Prices were reasonable for brunch in the area. The service was fast and efficient, and with a smile. There were a lot of customers that day, and we felt the indoor noise level was a bit loud to have a comfortable conversation. Still... We'd love to come back and try more of the menu. read more

Visited Café N One (North York) last weekend with my bro -- it's a spot I return to occasionally thanks to its consistent food quality and convenient location. This time we were in the mood for dessert and ordered: 1. Lavender Soufflé Pancake - pleasantly surprised by how well-balanced the flavor was. I've been to Cafe N One's original location in Markham and loved it, so I was excited to check out their Willowdale spot. The food is just as good, and the ambiance is even better. The pictures on the digital menu made everything look so tempting, I wanted to order it all! The mains were delicious, with perfectly sized portions that left room for dessert. Prices are super reasonable, around $16-$20ish per dish. The unexpected highlight was the sesame lava cake, absolutely perfect for black sesame lovers! It wasn't too sweet or heavy, and the fresh cream and berries were the perfect match. You can add ice cream for $5, but honestly, it's great without it. I'll definitely be back. The only hiccup was the wait for the bill, so we paid at the counter instead. Otherwise, the service was great, especially with keeping our waters topped up. read more

I came with a friend on a Saturday morning, not long after it opened. The space was decently sized for a cafe, and it was fairly popular. It had a nice, relaxing vibe as well. The service was efficient but the food itself was ok. I got a crossiant and my friend got a croissant combo to share. It was fine but I might try something different next time if I were to go again. Our main reason for going was the souffle pancake, which we saw many great reviews about. However, we were disappointed in it. The texture seemed somewhat wet and not really soft and airy; it seemed more like a pudding than a souffle pancake. Located on the second floor in a corner building. It was super buy on a weekend brunch time so make sure to make resos in advance. Service was a bit slow, with servers not being as attentive. You order through a QR code, but can't really make additional adjustments on the phone yourself (like drink upgrades), so you'll have to call over a server to help you. Here's what we got: Strawberry grapefruit soda 4/5 - Refreshing and carbonated. Great start to the meal. Pulled pork croissant 3/5 - Look wise it's beautiful. The yakiniku bbq pulled pork was okay. A great cafe. Right at Yonge and Finch so the location is very convenient. If you are driving, parking is free at Finch on the weekends and it is just a short walk. Very accessible by subway too. When you arrive they have a QR code to join a waitlist. Or I think you can make a reservation in advance. To order food there is a QR code at the table, and you just enter your table number and place the order on your phone. The food came out surprisingly quickly. The karaage croffle was so good. The chicken was so juicy and tender. The croffle was perfect. Also tried the pork belly croissant and I don't think I'd get that again just because there was too much pork belly sauce and I didn't like the sauce that much. The house salad and potatoes were yummy though. Also had the lavender souffle pancake which came out much later than the other dishes (which was expected because it says right in their menu that it is 25 minutes to prepare. I was pretty full by the time it came out, so I don't know if that affects my thoughts about it. I thought it was good - fluffy pancake and the lavender topping was mild. One of the pancakes the bottom wasn't that fluffy, it seems like it had been overdone slightly. Although it was pretty good, I think I prefer the savoury dishes. I tried the hojicha latte at half sugar. It was pretty strong, and I liked it. By the time I got to the bottom it was really dense with the powder. Probably should have stirred more frequently throughout. If you pay by cash it is 10% off. read more

After reading reviews for both locations, this seemed to be the better one of the two, so I called up two of my friends, and we all made our way here for a Sunday brunch AFTER, I made reservations. This place is always PACKED so if you plan on coming here hungry, call ahead! -[KARAAGE CROFFLE] $19.50 Japanese Fried Chicken, Homemade Croffle with Spicy Mayo & Maple Syrup. The croffle was absolutely delicious! It was the perfect amount of crispness, with the flaky texture of a croissant. Added bonus of the karaage being perfectly fried, and seasoned. I know I'll be ordering this again haha -[TOKYO FRIES] $9.25 We started our meal with this, and it was great for sharing. Perfectly fried fries, topped with shredded seaweed, and a generous amount of mayo. YUM -[PORK BELLY CROISSANT COMBO] $16.00 Pork Kakuni, Pickle Red Cabbage, Pickle Daikon, Cilantro, Miso Honey Mustard Combo Includes Brewed Coffee, House Salad and Roasted Potatoes. The pork was definitely in the drier side for it being referred to as "pork belly" but it was well seasoned! I liked that this came with a coffee included in the price, but think I'll opt for another croissant if I were to order a combo again next time -[SPICY NEOPOLITAN RAGU + SALAD] $19.00 Italian Sausage, Tomato, Roasted Garlic, Yuzu Kosho, Penne w/ Garlic Bread (Includes: House Salad). This was a pretty hefty portion of pasta haha. Visited on a weekday evening/night with the goal of getting work done. AMBIANCE: 5/5 Comfortable seating, especially the booth seats. The interior design is very modern and minimal. We visited in the evening, and I'm considering revisiting at an earlier time as they have large windows which would invite lots of natural lighting in the day. The noise level was moderate. FOOD: 5/5 This cafe has many menu options to choose from, ranging from standard cafe items to appetizers and mains (pastas/dons). We ordered the coco pistachio, chocolate salty caramel mousse cake, and karaage chicken (not pictured). All of them were great! I liked the smooth texture of the drink and cake. The coco pistachio felt like a unique concept which was executed well. The karaage chicken was very juicy, and came with dipping sauce & a lemon slice. I would definitely be open to trying out other options on the menu! SERVICE: 4/5 Friendly staff! We were given flexibility on where to sit at the start, and when we wanted to change tables midway they were very accommodating. Orders are made through scanning a QR code. Sometimes it can be hard to call for a server as they aren't actively walking around, but this may be due to the time of day (evenings seem to be their downtime, and they're probably more active when they're busier). Only one napkin was provided per table, which wasn't much an issue until we got to the chicken. However, they are prompt with their service and do make rounds for water refills. I also found it thoughtful for them to include the WiFi password on the table marker. STUDY RATING: 3.5/5 We went here with the goal to get some work done, so I'll also include an evaluation of that. This cafe is laptop-friendly, has WiFi, good lighting, a large variety of menu options, and has good opening hours. There was low to moderate noise at the time we went, which was around evening/night. Some were socializing, others were working with their laptops out as well. It was a good balance. Unfortunately, they only have one outlet available in the entire cafe, which is a crucial factor to me and brings the study rating down by a margin. They also have a 2 hour seating limit, which may be something to keep in mind for those who want to study longer. However, I would absolutely recommend going here for studying for quick work with already charged devices. Overall, more of a restaurant than a study cafe. read more

In a sea of korean and japanese food options, Cafe N One stands out by serving italian fusion food items. Located on the second level, the entrance is off to the side of Yonge, so it is easy to miss. Entrance is very drab and there is a walk up a set of dingy stairs, but once you get inside the decor is modern and polished. I shared the Karage with hot cakes and the Wafu Carbonara with my partner. Both were good, I liked the karage as they were large and very well prepared. The carbonara was lovely with the addition of the onsen egg. Good touch. We ended the meal with the chocolate lava cake and the creme brulee souffle pancakes. Located upstairs at the corner of Yonge and FInch. We had to wait about 20 mins for a seat - they have a system at the door where you enter your name and number to put yourself on the wait list. My favourite was the hot black sesame latte - one of the best black sesame lattes I've had. The carbonara was unique had and chicken and waffles were good but nothing out of the ordinary. My friend also really enjoyed the matcha espresso latte. I think the dishes here are different than other brunch spots. I also seen people on their laptops using this spot as a study cafe but I think this is more of a restaurant than a study cafe. Staff were friendly and mentioned that my party could choose a spot of our liking. We were seated and given water. The menu is accessed via a QR code where you order on your mobile device. Food came at a reasonable time. Food wise, my party and I opted for the following items: - Classic breakfast - Wafu carbonara + salad - Garlic thick toast with salad - Flat white - Hot chocolate - Earl grey latte Food was good and the drinks were made well. The interior decor and ambiance is nice and lively, with lots of natural light during the day and a view over the busy Yonge/Finch intersection. The food itself, a mix of traditional and Japanese brunch, pastas, and desserts, is very good. The quality and portions are great and filling for the price. My personal favourites are their smoked salmon croissant and the soufflé pancakes which come in a variety of flavours. Service was friendly and attentive. There's also a 10% cash discount. Take my review with a grain of salt, as I spent only 20 minutes in this cafe. In all fairness though, the 20 minutes I had were very pleasant. After a night out of shopping and dinner with my youngest sister, we were driving down Yonge St and were stopped at the red light of Cafe n One. We suddenly made the impulse choice to try it out. Only to learn they were closing in 20 minutes, oops! It was a bit of a nightmare trying to find parking in the back of the building, as it was a busy weekend night and the parking is also shared with other establishments. The staff was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is modern and cozy. It gives me a very ... KDrama esque type feel. The staff also made us aware of their very soon closing time, so in courtesy told our server we were only going to get drinks. My sister and I both got the black sesame latte while punching ourselves at the same time for not coming earlier, because the food looked so tasty! The environment and location of the cafe with the nice 2nd floor view of the bustle of Yonge st was a nice touch. This was probably the cleanest food establishment I've gone to in a while too. The black sesame lattes had a cute design on them, and was delicious as well! Good temperature and with good company, made my experience worth while. On our way out the staff remained courteous and friendly. I left Cafe n One happy. My sister and I have vowed to return to Cafe n One to try the food, as this place makes for a perfect brunch spot! I have come to this café multiple times so i can study. I absolutely love the desserts, especially the matcha lava cake. Furthermore, their black sesame latte is so creamy and smooth 10/10. Prices are a bit expensive but not the most expensive around 5-9$ for a drink from what i remember. They also serve proper food if you want to eat a meal. The service was fast and quick, the washrooms are well cleaned and fancy. Everyone is very nice and i enjoy reading my book in a peaceful environment. The environment is calm and i will definitely come back, although only if i have a big exam because i dont want to spend too much money just for little tests. Very cute swan design on my latte. The Soufflé pancakes are a must try, and well worth the 30 min preparation wait. Better still, order some other items and have the pancakes for dessert - almost everyone else around us seemed to be doing the same.
