    Injeolmi Bingsu
    Keith L.

Wow what a cute little cafe with a fantastic bingsu menu! This is the perfect place to share a bingsu (aka korean shaved ice) with your partner or your friends. They've got a large variety of flavours - we went with the Injeolmi and got a large creamy chilly helping of ricecake, bean powder, sweet milk and almonds! It was light and satisfying, and definitely worth having after a heavy meal. If bingsu is not your flavour, come for the drinks and prepared pastries. The cafe has such a comfy vibe with great seating.

    Mango Bingsu

This is my first time visiting the Cafe Daily and my first time trying Bingsu. It was after lunch on a Saturday afternoon and I steady craving for some dessert. I searched on Yelp and found this place. The following are the items I ordered. Mango Bingsu: The presentation of the Mango Bingsu is beautiful and the mango is very fresh. I thought the Bingsu is made of shaved ice (water) but it turns out it is made of shaved frozen milk. The mixture of the vanilla ice cream, sweet mango, and shaved frozen milk made this a perfect dessert. I was surprised how light this dessert feels after I consumed the whole bowl of Bingsu by myself. Strawberry Cream and Tiramisu Macaron: Normal taste Macaron, not bad at all. Matcha Latte: The Matcha Latte is just too sweet even compare with the Mango Bingsu. The sweetness totally covers the taste of the Matcha. Overall, Cafe Daily is a nice place to enjoy a chill weekend afternoon. I believe the highlight of this café is their Bingsu, which is much better than I have expected. I also wanted to give a pat on the back to the baristas / waitress. The café was full during that day and she was able to service almost a dozen of tables very promptly with positive attitude.

If I could rate this over 5 stars I would. I love this place, it's my favourite cafe to get some work done in Toronto. The atmosphere is quiet and very minimalist. The bingsu was so good, and their iced lattes are amazing. The only down about it is that it's quite pricey.

I was craving some bingsu today and visited café daily! I ordered their cheesecake bingsu and it was so refreshing. Huge chunks of cheesecake which I love but I wish they added a bit more strawberry syrup on top. Overall, I recommend visiting this spot if you are looking for a place to hang out with friends or even do some work! Decent amount of seating areas and service was great.

TLDR: Quaint vibes, relaxed menu, great for a casual date or just a friend's catch-up.  (Slightly) longer review for those not in a hurry: Taste (3.5/5) : They used to have this really yummy sweet potato latte! It was velvety smooth, not too sweet, had a great body to it, and topped with pine nuts. I think COVID kicked it off the menu though :'( I did, however, pick a few other items that were nice, too!  Iced Americano I think this simple drink can speak volumes about the coffee a place has to offer! It was refreshing and nutty, but not too bold to be bitter. Makes me feel that their coffee should be of a pretty nice quality :) Injeolmi latte I specifically requested for a less sweet drink, because I don't like it when my drinks are too sweet. They delivered alright :) Injeolmi is rice cake covered with a bean powder! It had an earthy taste that still retained its natural sweetness. I think this effectively filled the hole in my soul that my absent sweet potato latte left.  Cheddar Cheese Croffle The croffle is a lovechild between a waffle and a croissant. It's basically the croissant dough cooked in a waffle iron! To be honest, the cheddar cheese, being the regular processed, sliced, american cheese, was a bit plasticy in texture. I sincerely believe that this dish would have been better if it was better cheese! The croffle also came across as a bit ... floppy. If cooked at a higher temperature for a longer time, I think it would have had a wonderful crisp! I don't particularly recommend the Cheddar Cheese Croffle, but I think if paired properly, it could be very yummy :)  Place (3/5) : Simple place, nothing in particular notable with the facilities. It seemed to specialize in 2 seaters though, so likely aimed at couples or professional conversations! The service was great, because the waitress was very patient with answering all the questions I had about the food! All in all, not my favourite cafe in North York, but it doesn't hurt to swing by if you're in the area and have already tried the other cafes!  Follow my insta @joelyho for more food reviews and derpiness!

I think the cafe's current name is changed to Daily Cafe. They are located on the second floor and only accepts cash and debit. Since they are not under Cafe Bene franchise, I was sorry to hear they no longer served the famous sweet potato latte back when Bene was here. That said it is still an awesome cozy place with yummy drinks to fulfill your sugar crave as you rammage through pages of textbook for that dreaded exam or if you are recovering from a night out with a cute date. I ordered hazelnut latte and literally stayed there till they closed at 11pm. Owner and staff were super nice. Washroom was definitely cleaner than some of the other ones in the Yonge Finch area. They played all of the top 40 Kpop music in the background. If youre a Kpop fan, this is your hood. Place gets a bit busy but there should be seats available on weekend nights! Will def come back to try their other drinks.

I dunno why but this is my favourite dessert spot in North York. It has a special place in my heart as I have so many memories here :') Ambience wise yes it's kinda best suited as a plain study spot but the wooden booths infront of the cash area are my favourite spots to meet up with friends or go on late night dates to because there's something so cozy and simple about it. Also lemme tell you, CROFFLE SU-PRE-MA-CY. THEY HAVE MY FAVOURITE CROFFLES HERE. I'VE TRIED OTHER CAFE CROFFLES IN THE AREA AND HELL NOOO DON'T GIMME DAT SHIT. THE ONES AT CAFE DAILY ARE BY FAR THE BEST. So buttery, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you love injeolmi (soybean powder) then get their injeolmi croffle!! The mochi pairing and powder is sososososososo good. They also have a variety of bingsu which are amazing, I wanna try all their flavours. So far the injeolmi and espresso bingsu are my favourite. Anyways, lemme calm my ass down, I just miss going here since I moved away. I came here so much when I lived in the area for a bit and the owner ended knowing me as a regular. Shes a super sweet lady and knows I love her injeolmi croffles and bingsu. Also the pricing is amazing for the portion sizing and you also get a discount if you pay cash which makes the value even more worth it. imy cafe daily

Surprisingly solid option for bingsu in the area! LOCATION: 4/5 The location is super easy to miss, despite being right at Yonge & Finch area. Through the first doors, there are about 4 different restaurants, and cafe bene is upstairs. It seems super tiny from the outside, but upon going inside, it is actually a pretty spacious cafe. There are plenty of tables for you to just sit and chat. FOOD: 4/5 It was my first time here but my friend who lives in the area said that their portion sizes used to be larger and around ~$15. The sizes are now regular sized at from $7.99-$8.50. I personally prefer this as you can try more flavours/don't have to share. Their portions are very generous for this price point. Compared to other popular bingsu cafes which would be closer to $10 for the same size, or a cup sized for this price. I ordered the mango bingsu and there were so many mango chunks that they were practically falling out of the bowl. The ice cream it came with was about the size of my fist and there was enough mango syrup for every bite to be flavourful. SERVICE: 4/5 Service is okay. You choose your own spot to sit and they'll come take your order. As its a cafe, people tend to sit and hang out here for a while, so you pay at the front when you are leaving. The only bad thing is they never offered water, which would be nice since desserts can be super sweet and you might need to wash it down. Definitely coming back to try more flavours!

    Sweet potato latte (hot)

hmm.. I guess they changed their name on Yelp? It used to be called Cafe Bene and it's definitely not closed! Management has not changed and still run by the two sweet ladies. On my first visit, the cafe was hard to find. When you walk down the street, you'll see a black hanging sign and walk upstairs. The cafe door is to the left. This is one of my favourite Korean cafe's (not that I have visited many, but it's a nice cafe) that I visit on a regular basis (mostly because of BTS events), but the owners are soooo friendly and treat you very well. My go to drink is the sweet potato latte and you can't go wrong with either hot or cold because both versions pack in lots of flavours and super creamy. I have also tried the peach and pineapple sodas, yuzu korean tea (cold) and cheese cake which were also super delicious as well. On my next visit, I will definitely to try their famous bingsu with a friend because from the pictures they look really big and it's definitely a portion for 2-3 people. The cafe has a wooden interior and gives a homey vibe with lots of tables and you can even bring your laptop to work. They block off some tables that it's enough that it can be private. Price wise, it is average and affordable. I have left a tip here, but they take cash/debit only. I definitely recommend coming here at least once. You won't be disappointed.

It's a little tricky to find, as it's on the second story... but once you do find it, you will be delighted! This is such a cute and quaint spot with great service. Everything is fresh and the staff is so joyful, generous and accommodating. A wonderful find, we will be back!!

Came here for late night desserts and was pleasantly surprised with the bingsu. Fruits were sweet even though they weren't in season. Service was nice and fast. A good bingsu option in the Yonge and finch area!

**Fun Drinks, But Not the Best for Kids**…read more We stopped by **Machi Machi** to try their drinks and had a pretty good experience overall. We ordered the **matcha red bean drink** and the **mango drink**--both were delicious and definitely fun to try. However, if you're bringing kids who prefer simpler drinks, this might not be the best spot. My kids were hoping for a basic mango drink, which wasn't available, but they still enjoyed what they got. My matcha red bean drink also came with **three rice mochi on a stick**, which was a nice touch! The location itself is inside a **shared space with other restaurants**, so it's not a standalone shop. It's **not stroller-friendly** as there are steps inside, and I didn't see any **high chairs**, so it might not be the most convenient option for families with younger kids. While the drinks were tasty and unique, **it was almost $20 for just two drinks**, so it's definitely on the pricier side. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something different, but keep in mind the cost and setup before going!

The only thing is I didn't get to taste the flavour of the tea as much because of the Oreo. I believe I got the drink with less sugar. 2) Orange Jasmine Tea The jasmine tea was very fragrant and pairs well with the orange. I like orange green tea so I also enjoyed this drink. I have yet to try their regular milk tea which I would get the next time I visit this place. The staff was also really nice and friendly (I believe the owner was also there). Service still needs improvement but as they just opened, it's understandable.

Sun Tea Ratings: 4/5…read more Food: 4.25/5 - Late night boba run with my boyfriend cause we are staying nearby. I mainly wanted to explore Toronto and try as many local boba shops as I can that's not in the States. Sun Tea definitely exceeded my expectations. It was also my first time trying a grape drink, so good experience overall! Please see the drink we got to share below. - Fleshly Grape [GET]: We got the drink with less ice and 30% sugar, but could be sweeter though. The drink itself was refreshing, not heavy. The tea flavors were pretty noticeable and high quality. I was surprised by the real grapes they used in the drink too, because I enjoyed them more than I expected. They tasted fresh and delicious. The toppings were only average though. The tapioca boba was chewy but a bit mushy, think it was cooked too long, and the agar boba was not as bouncy as I like it to be. Ambiance: 3.75/5 - Tiny boba shop located on Yonge, probably only fits around 4-5 people at most. The interior is clean, bright, and organized. There's nothing much to see. As soon as you walk in, you see the menu displayed on the TVs and an open kitchen. This place is only for take outs, and there's no indoor seating available. Not a place to hang with friends. Price: 4/5 - The Fleshly Grape is one of their popular drinks. We substituted the jelly topping for tapioca boba instead at no additional cost. The total came up to be around $9 after tax. I would say pretty pricey, but quality is there and tasted pretty decent. Service: 4/5 - There were two staffs working there. One of them took our orders while the other staff was preparing the drinks. They were friendly, and I'd say the service is like your typical boba shop customer service you can find anywhere else. BLUF: Offers interesting and unique flavors drinks, mainly specializes in fruit teas on Yonge. I would recommend any of their fruit teas or slushy, and get half sugar. I recommend get some other toppings, the honey boba and agar boba was just okay, maybe I was just unlucky that day or because it was late in the day, so the batch weren't that fresh, but definitely still worth of a try if you are in the area and if this is your first time!
