Dropped by The Cups near Finch, and it was like they're trying to win a prize for the most chairs/tables in a shoebox. The vibe was crowded and noisy. It's DIY service with tray pickup and return, so interaction with staff is minimum like at a food court, but still the expectation to tip. Shared a large strawberry bingsu ($16) with a friend, but it's been hit by shrinkflation! The bowl's skinnier (used to be a bigger, black bowl), and toppings loosely populate the top (used to be more, and an additional layer in the middle too). The ice cream used to be a bigger scoop, with strawberry chunks, but this was an artificially pink ball with a vague hint of strawberry flavour. Unless The Cups brings back the old days, sad that I will have to find another bingsu place. If you don't know about the old days, or don't know what Korean bingsu is supposed to be like, this place may do.

Got the matcha red bean and mango shaved ice. They were huge, and my group of four were very satisfied walking out. The environment is also quiet so great for catching up with friends!

Injeolmi bingsu: perfect treat for watching sunsets

I've been visiting since they were at their old location by kayagum, and their bingsu is always top tier. My favourite part of ordering here is when you order a cup size bingsu, they'll serve it layered so ice - topping - ice - topping - ice - topping to ensure you get a consistent experience as you enjoy the dessert. I've tried all their flavours but my favourite is the injeolmi bingsu. I've even ordered it on frigid days when it was -10° and ate it outside in the snow, no big deal. Remember to mix before you eat - when I took my first bite I inhaled both the ice and powder. Was coughing it out while waiting for my bus. The injeolmi comes with plenty of soybean powder and soft and chewy rice cakes (mochi/tteok). The ice is so soft, it just melts in your mouth. It's located along Yonge, north east side of Yonge/Finch. Literal steps away from the TTC station entrance, and a few minutes walk from GO. Unfortunately they're on the 2nd floor of a building so you enter and climb a set of stairs (not accessible). During yesterday evening's visit (~9PM), it was almost full with a few available seats. The seating can accomodate individuals, small groups, and possibly one large group (they have this long table with high seats). It was very loud and when ordering, I couldn't hear the staff nor could they hear me. I think it was more of a volume issue from customers and not their music. They completed my order within 5 minutes which was quick enough considering the busyness. Overall, I'm happy and satisfied and will definitely return.

I have been coming here for bingsu every time and the service is always great. The amount of bingsu and flavour is pretty standard for the price but can never go wrong with classic injeolmi. We usually get the large size and split it between three people. I've tried their fruit bingsu as well and the fruits were fresh the times I've had them. They have multiple locations and can get really busy during summer so might have to wait to get a table!

Came here and tried their croffles! we got the tiramisu croffle ($14) and also tried some of their walnut snacks ($4) and their Americano (hot, medium - $3.2, iced only comes in large - $3.4). I think this place is typically known for their bingsu but their croffles are not bad either! The tiramisu went great with the croffles and ice cream was tasty as well. The coffees were not bad but the non-coffee drinks were a bit more expensive, all $5-6+. The walnut snacks were not bad but a bit cold. We had the red bean and custard. Overall, enjoyed it! Cute spot and food pretty decent.

Refreshing & great for sharing! On the second floor, with steep stairs to climb (no elevators), is this busy location, packed to the brim on a Thursday evening. Came here after dinner around the area for a sweet treat and was surprised with how many people were dining in to also crave their sweet tooth! Got their strawberry bingsu, injeolmi bingsu and mango bingsu. Bingsu is a traditional Korean shaved ice dessert that is perfect for the summer. All three desserts ordered were super refreshing with layered toppings to ensure that you get the perfect bite every time. Strawberry bingsu was sweet and came with a scoop of strawberry ice cream. 8/10 Injeolmi is a classic, with mochi bites and almond. 9/10 Mango bingsu was refreshing with the mango chunks and mango sauce topped with whip. 8/10 Water is self serve and available on a table with a pitcher and cups. You order and pay at the counter before seating yourself. You will get a buzzer that buzzes and rings once your order is ready. There is a seating time limit of 1 hour to ensure other parties also can enjoy their bingsu while sitting down.

I love bingsu! It's popping up more across the city, but for a while it was hard finding a true bingsu as many places just serve shaved ice and not shaved milk. The Cups has been a solid option for bingsu with lots of different topping options. This Cups location is on the second floor right by Finch station. You pay at the counter, self-serve water, and then grab a seat while waiting for your buzzer to go off. There was also free wifi available. What we got: - Tiramisu Bingsu - Blossom Bingsu (Grapefruit and peach) Final Thoughts: The tiramisu bingsu came with a shot of espresso for us to pour on top of our bingsu and even a small slice of cake on top! The Blossom bingsu was a tad sour from the grapefruit but still very delicious as well.

This dessert shop can be considered the best place for desserts in Yonge and Finch. We ordered Tiramisu, brick toast, and strawberry dessert. Basically, all three desserts are exceptionally well-made and not overly sweet. It is definitely one of the best dessert shops I have tried since coming to Toronto. Moreover, the portions are very generous, satisfying anyone who loves desserts. If you have the time, you must come and try it!

Matcha Bingsu in a cup

I was in search of some shaved ice dessert and was making the slow trek up Yonge street to find it. Luckily, we walked by a table of patrons enjoying their cold treats or we would have completely missed this location. It is located on the second floor, so you have to look up to see it. I shared a cup of green tea bingsu which has matcha powder, mochi, red beans, matcha ice cream and all topped with almond flakes. It is not as pretty as a bowl, but any larger size would have been too much for me. I liked that the bingsu was not overly sweetened and made for a refreshing dessert. The servers are friendly, helping patrons get seated and moving chairs around to accommodate different parties. I found it funny that they would stick their head out the window to check on the parties on the front patio space. Space does fill up quickly after dinner hours!

Honestly did not have high expectations for shaved ice because I had it once and didn't enjoy it.... but The Cups delivered! I ordered the smallest size they offered which is a cup of injeolmi shaved ice. I appreciated how many different options they had and feel like there's something for everyone here. There were maybe 3 layers of delicious injeolmi with almonds, powder, and a sweet syrup in between layers of finely shaved ice. It was actually delicious and I finished it all. It was also not too sweet.

I really like bingsu, it doesn't feel heavy to eat as it's ice with flavour. Its not too sweet and has a nice light feeling to it. Both the mango and the green tea flavour was delicious, flavour on every bite. But the green tea ice cream was rock hard and took a long time to defrost. The issue I had was with the drinks, the blue berry tea was good the initial 2 sips and became very sour. The service was also lacking, I wanted to add more hot water to the tea to take away the sourness but they told me they couldn't give me a cup of hot water.....Which was ridiculous. Not sure if I will come back.

LOVE this place and can't wait to go back. At first I thought how good can a shaved ice place be - boy was I wrong. I can't explain it but it might be the creamy-ness of the ice - even without the flavouring, it tasted like a mix of condensed milk and ice shaved together. We opted for the soy bean one and mango and both were delicious. One regular one is def enough to share but we wanted to try everything out. This place can be hard to find so look up as it's located on the second floor. Super cute store with seating and very nice wait staff!

injeolmi croffle
Nana T.

I got the injeolmi croffle which included a scoop of vanilla ice cream, two freshly made croffles with warm mochi sandwiched underneath topped with a bed of melted cream, injeolmi powder and chocolate syrup around! It was good, the croffle itself was okay not the most buttery or flavourful, the mochi layered between it was different which I enjoyed and their icecream was hard as a rock I had to cut it with a knife to pry a scoop out of it. The ambience was a bit too bright for me and not as relaxing as other cafes i've visited in the area.

Very cute store. I got the tiramisu cup and it was exactly like the picture, but there was too much syrup for my taste. It was very sweet.

I preferred the carrot juice with saffron ice cream - it wasn't sour, but still felt refreshing. The pistachios were a very nice touch. Despite both drinks having ice cream, neither felt overly sweet or sugary. I would return for the carrot juice/saffront ice cream! We watched them make it with many fresh carrots in front of our eyes. Very friendly service and patient with our questions. We beat the rush - they only had 1 person working so was probably a longer wait for other people behind us. No seats inside - this is purely a grab and go spot.

This tiny Iranian juice cafe, almost hidden away in a little plaza in Thornhill, did not disappoint. Apparently all ingredients are imported from Iran. I went for #4 which is basically a cup of pomegranate juice with a scoop of pomegranate ice cream inside, as well as a couple pieces of pomegranate fruit leather and pomegranate jellies for good measure. Pomegranate overload? Nope. It was heavenly. I've had it twice now and I don't live anywhere near here lol. Or you can get the juice on its own ($14 for a large bottle or $8 for a large cup) which is honestly so mouth-puckeringly addictive....if you love sour fruit juice, that is. They also sell containers of pomegranate fruit leather and other sour dried fruits (cherries, apricots) which are delicious on their own but would probably also be great in yogurt or ice cream. Anyway, love sour stuff? Get your fix here.

As I was approaching the eatery, I noticed PappiRoti Cafe & Bakery next door on the left. It intrigued me. I love a good bakery. I had a good feeling about this one. After I was done eating dinner and checking out a store in the mall, I left Jollibee and headed over to this cafe. PappaRoti does not have direct access to the mall. You basically enter and exit the cafe. To get to the mall, you can either cut through Jollibee or use mall entrance 6. This cafe has a small patio. It would be nice sitting down to enjoy a drink and a baked good when it's summertime. I got the nicest man at this cafe. He said hi and was friendly. I looked at all the individual cakes in the display case. They looked amazing. He rattled off what each flavour was. I recognized the tiramisu and red velvet cakes right off the bat. I love tiramisu. I looked at the drinks on the menu. They looked great. I went into this store with a Jollibee drink. I'll need to return to try a beverage next time. He carefully put my tiramisu in a container. It wasn't the cheapest cake at $13 after taxes. It looked good that I didn't care. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked the man and happily left with my cake. I could tell that it was quality. It had a dark chocolate goodie on the top of it. I could see the lady fingers at the bottom. I brought it home and had it while watching a hockey game. It was delicious! It had a lot of espresso and cocoa flavours. The mascarpone was creamy. The lady fingers had the perfect amount of espresso without being mushy. It's likely one of the best tiramisu desserts that I've had in years. I was parked for Jollibee at around 3:30 pm on a Wednesday. I had no problem finding a spot. I had a wonderful experience at this cafe. There are places inside to sit down and indulge in a baked good and a drink. I look forward to returning for more yumminess. (159)

I loved his energy and service, which also played a factor when debating whether I should consume more caffeine in the evening. lol The OG bun was great as always and the only reason it was initially a 4 star was because of the Karak tea. It was much less intense and felt a bit diluted in my opinion. I reckon it was just today's batch so I'll definitely come back as Sina was great and I think it was just a one off! Arigato-gozaimasu!

I usually opt for 25% sugar, which hits that sweet spot perfectly without being overpowering. (At some places, even 25% is quite sweet.) My favorites? The osmanthus sweet rice green tea latte and the grapefruit yakult green tea, priced around $6 to $7. And I can't resist adding jelly boba - those konjac balls add just the right texture. Service can be a teansy bit slow, but it's clear they're not cutting corners and really care about what they're serving. The staff are friendly, always up for a quick chat, and the cat-themed decor?
