    Roasted corn latte
    Jessie Z.

Ohh bless the worker working solo and prepping everything herself. Quite surprised to see a stove behind the register. Lots of tables for studying, but inside is quite dark so not the best during the day time. The dango is rather okay, comparable to the Japanese super Market. I would say the coffee jelly is more worth it as they decorate it fresh and it's quite cute. I got the roasted corn tea latte, and beware of this because instead of a creamy corn latte you are getting a roasted barley tea + latte so its not very strong. Would recommend getting another drink. Overall, stars for the nice service and ample space for studying/night hideaway. Not the most upscale cafe but gets the job done and kudos to the worker holding down fort.

Four Seasons Oolong Tea Latte with Boba

Lait Night is a nice spot for people to do work or study late at night, but I was expecting a more lively environment honestly. I was hoping for some board games to play while enjoying dessert with friends but it's actually the opposite. It's very quiet with 9 two seater tables, usually one person occupies a table and is on their laptop. Feels a bit wrong to hold a conversation here in fear of disrupting others. Four Seasons Oolong Tea Latte - first, boba was chewy and slightly sweet but nothing exceptional. The oolong tea itself wasn't too potent, but there was a little evidence. Moreso milky or watered down. My friend however, got a freshly steeped tea (asked if 10 minute wait was fine). Not sure if my ratio was off or if the recipe itself was a bit skewed towards the non-tea side. I'd order another drink but was happy with the boba. Ichigo Daifuki - literally what you expect from the description! Mochi, red bean, and strawberry. Strawberry was plump and juicy but slightly sour. I guess it contrasted well with the sweet red bean but I would've enjoyed a sweet one much more.

Came here on a Thursday night after our dinner. I missed the Japanese desserts I grew up eating, and the pictures caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. According to the staff, their dango (skewered mochi), and ichigo daifuku (mochi wrapped red bean paste coated strawberry) are their most popular item. Dango 6/10 Overall, the dango was okay. It was warm and chewy, but I expected a bit more chewyness, as the texture was somewhere in between a mochi and milk mochi. The kinako was okay, mitarashi was a bit too runny and salty, and the matcha was light in matcha flavor and a bit grainy due to the undisolved sugar. Ichigo Daifuku 7/10 This tasted much better than the dango. The strawberry was juicy and sweet, so that made it pretty tasty. The red bean paste and mochi was fine. Mizu yokan 6/10 I do like this dish but I felt like the texture could be improved and the sweetness reduced. Roasted Corn Late 4/10 First time trying this. It had a nice aroma but it tasted very watered down. Being born and raised in Japan, I am a bit critical of Japanese foods in general, and I think I was a bit too excited, thinking it would be quite authentic. I have yet to find a solid Japanese dessert here in Toronto, so any recommendations are welcomed lol

I gotta say, it's pretty rare to encounter places that serves bubble tea till the wee hours of the morning and I'm so glad to have stumble across this shop. For those who get the midnight cravings for tea, make a stop by Lait Night. They got the teas, the smoothies, the sweets, and other yummy delights that can fulfill your craving. My friends and I came here for drinks and overall, it was pretty tasty! We ordered the mango smoothie and I got this rose flavored milk tea. Flavors = fresh and the drinks weren't too sweet. Inside Lait Night, there are places where you can sit/study/chill and I think the best feature of this place, is that it opens till 3am. Super stoked to find this spot and definitely bookmarking it for future reference if I visit Toronto again :)

This is a good place if you want to study somewhere or just hang out late at night. However, the male cashier at the time could have provided better service. It seemed like we were bothering him even though he was just sitting down when we came. This was on 3/15/24. Service was a 2. I got a strawberry oolong tea with lychee jelly that was decent. We tried two of the dangos because they looked interesting. We had the honey and black sesame. I'm glad they were cheap because they weren't that good. Aesthetically they look tasty but after you eat it, it's kind of bland. I would not recommend getting these unless they're another flavor. Seats can be limited since you have a lot of young adults here.

This venue is located in Chinatown off a Dundas side street. Self serve concept - the desserts are really good! Credits card payments are accepted.

Haven't come back since indoor dining was allowed again and im glad i stopped by. Finally tried their drinks as well. Ordered the Assam black tea latte with tapioca and 0% sugar. Other places are often sweet even at 0% sugar, but this place is different. the drink was actually not sweet at all, and only slightly sweet depending on the tapioca. For those who truly want 0% (literally just straight up tea)- this is the place. if you're used to "0% sugar" like at other bubble tea franchises around, then it's probably more equivalent to 30-50% sugar here. Regardless, the tea flavour is strong! not watered down at all which i really appreciated. Tapioca was also very soft even for a cold drink. I would definitely come back again for their drinks. Also ordered a daifuku because they're still A+ here! :)

    Matcha Mizu Yokan.

If you're in the mood for some delicious Japanese sweets, this place is definitely the spot for you! A nice little cafe with a variety of desserts and drinks that wouldn't hurt your wallet. My friend and I ordered the Ichigo Daifuku, the Matcha Mizu Yukan, as well as 4 different flavours of the Dango (Mitarashi, Kinako, Black Sesame, and Matcha). What a treat! The Ichigo Daifuku was mouthwatering - the tartness of the strawberry balanced out with the red bean paste snuggled in between the outer mochi layer. The red bean paste itself was not overly sweet, which was a nice touch! I do wish, however, the mochi layer was a bit more dense and less doughy, but that's just my personal preference! I never had Matcha Mizu Yokan before, so the texture and taste genuinely surprised me. It had an interesting bite due to the agar-agar ingredients, and the jelly itself was not too sweet. It came with some whipped cream on the side, the sweetness of which helped lift the somewhat-dense dessert. I feel like I missed out by not pairing this with a tea, but will definitely revisit! The 4 Dango flavours offered different pairings to the same rice-flour dumpling. If I were to rank them for favourites, it would be the Kinako (Roasted Soybean) - Black Sesame - Mitarashi - Matcha. Before I even ate the Kinako, I was able to smell the fragrant roasted aroma resting atop, with the flavour matching perfectly. The Black Sesame had a milder, yet sweet taste as I had suspected. Mitarashi Dango is typically my go-to, but I felt like my order was particularly doused in too much sauce. I did, however, taste the char on the Dango to counter the sweetness of the sauce. The Matcha was a mix of sweet + bitter, nothing too sweet and a perfect bite to end the dessert round.

Visited this place around 1:30 am and it was still pretty busy. I tried their Matcha Dango and Coffee Jelly and both the items tasted great. We liked the coffee jelly so much that we ended up ordering it thrice. Just couldn't resist the urge to have one more. I wanted to try the Daifuku but unfortunately, it was sold out. Staying a bit far from this place makes it difficult to come back for Daifuku but I do hope to try it in the future.

This cafe used to be 24 hrs before covid. Now they close at 4am on Friday & Saturday & 3am from Monday to Thursday, which is almost as good. They sell a few desserts, smoothies, coffee & tea. Got the fruit kanten jelly. It was decent.

Strawberry daifuku, matcha dango, mitarashi dango
    Louise F.

Such a cute place and the friendliest staff. I rarely (maybe never??) see dango sold outside of japan so I was so excited to come try these. They're so cute and I'm glad we got one matcha and one mitarashi to have a nice balance of flavors. The daifuku was also great and the strawberries were so sweet.

Dango, ichigo daifuku, coffee jelly with whipped cream

Great place! Visited here one night on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by the food. I had the ichigo daifuku, dango, and coffee jelly with whipped cream - all were super tasty and satisfied my sweet tooth. My fav was prob the coffee jelly with whipped cream - this had just the right amount of sweetness and was so satisfying for something quite simple. Definitely give this place a try if you're ever in the area - they are open late and play anime on the tv!

Bubble tea just after 3:30am. A lait night indeed. 24 hours cafe with a basic menu of drinks offered. There were a few people inside when I visited. Tried their hojicha latte with tapioca. No complaints, the tea had a faint nutty and roasted taste. I was able to substitute the milk with soy. Friendly customer service especially working during the early hours.

There are four glass-top tables (with vintage books displayed within them) that can accommodate 3-4 people. There are also a couple of benches against the wall in the order pick-up area.
