One of my favourite matcha spots in the city! I usually get the strawberry matcha latte but this time I decided to try out one of their summer drinks menu. I ended up going for the sunny coconut matcha drink they had. Sunny coconut matcha: Coconut jasmine tea with matcha cheese foam on top. It was a refreshing blend for the hot summer heat. If you're a coconut fan this is a great drink to have. Despite how busy the shop is, the service is quite fast and efficient. There's seating at the back but it tends to be full most of the time. Glad the quality remains consistent as always!
Came here with my husband because he wanted to buy some authentic matcha powder. I got the Jade Breeze drink which was yuzu matcha and iced.. perfect for the summer heat! My favourite strawberry matcha is from Icha Tea! First time at this location and and it was packed! There was a long line to even order but the drink came out pretty quickly after ordering. There's a narrow hallway area in the store that leads to a larger back seating area which is nice. I like their other location on the west end more and for some reason it tasted better there than when I got it at this Chinatown location. They have adorable merch around the store that you can purchase, with some being from local businesses like candles.
The service was a 10 out of 10 they answered all the questions that I had and they made my drink rather quickly I got the iced strawberry matcha 25% sugar, given that I got 25% sugar I thought that I would be able to taste the matcha more, matcha naturally has an intense flavor hence why people like to put a lot of sugar in it but I didn't taste much matcha...I barely taste it to be honest which is why I have to put this out of 3/5 based on this drink alone I would not go back I didn't enjoy it. It wasn't horrible the strawberry flavor was delicious but I wouldn't order it again. The place was busy the seating area inside was full I visited around 4:00 on a Tuesday it's clear other people do enjoy the drinks if you prefer more sweetness than actual matcha flavor then this might be good for you at a 50 or higher percent sugar level I personally like to taste matcha in my matcha so it wasn't for me Also note that they do have other milk teas and toppings not just matcha
I got an iced matcha dirty cafe latte and my friend got a phoenix oolong milk tea~ I wish they served my drink in a clear cup too but regardless, it was really good! at first, i got a huge hit of the matcha which came off as too bitter. but after mixing it with the sweet coffee, it became a perfect blend of the two flavors. it gave me so much energy to last the day! we came back again a few days later and I got a chrysanthemum pu er tea! it was light and refreshing~ got it 25% sweet and it was perfect for me! the inside is super big and spacious. it's a nice place to unwind and relax while sipping on our drinks (though I chugged mine in a few seconds)
Had to stop by for boba while in Chinatown. I was very intrigued by how they brew their tea for drinks. I ordered the snowy rose jasmine milk tea with less ice, 50% sugar, and grass jelly. Drink didn't take long to make. My milk tea was delicious and you can really taste the tea flavor in every sip. However, it wasn't sweet at all even though I asked for 50% sugar. It honestly tasted more like 25% or less. My husband who hates drinking sugary drinks took a sip of my drink and really liked it which shows how little sugar was in there.

Apparently the best spot to get Strawberry Matcha Latte so I was super hype to try it! Thankfully a short line when I went. They use a very popular ceremonial grade matcha from Japan so this is legit Service was fast and got drunk within 5 minutes I got mine with oat milk and my friend got hers with soy milk. I wouldn't recommend the latte with oak milk because it did make it sour. It tasted better with soy milk. I wouldn't travel all the way to downtown just for this tho, if i was in the area sure. 7/10 Ambiance was cute cafe vibes and they had a huge back room with tables! didn't get to check it out though.

This place was really busy and it makes a lot of sense why. They have a tea bar at the back which is cool. They also have little trinkets to purchase such as rings or earrings by the counter. I definitely recommend their matcha latte! It's definitely what they're most known for.
Best strawberry matcha I've ever tried!! This place serves high quality drinks and you can tell it's something they care about by their traditional processes and types of products they use. I looove coming here on a hot day and getting an iced strawberry matcha. Their matcha is high quality and the colour of it is amazing. They also sell some tea in store that customers can go and purchase to make at home. The workers are all really kind and helpful even though it can get quite busy during the day. They're super attentive to what I want and quick with their service! There's minimal seating in this location but I treat it more like a to go place anyway. The prices can range from $5-$8 a drink. Pricey, but a really unique menu and lots to choose from.
Decent boba spot but there are quite a few nearby, so not necessarily the top. Tea is strong and genuine, but for the specialty drinks, it was overpowered by milk or other liquids (ratio felt off). They do tea tasting which shows how proud they are of the tea, which I can get behind. I support the tea here. Overall, I think this is a splendid spot for authentic tea but just acceptable for boba and milk tea. Interior is nice, there's a larger seating area beyond the checkout area. Restrooms available. Rose Jasmine Tea w/ Boba - an okay green tea, there was an after taste present but very light. Rose wasn't as obvious as green tea is already a bit floral in flavor. Boba was chewy but not too flavorful, not a lot of sweetness if at all. Could be improved, but it does the job of a decent boba.
The matcha latte was pretty well balanced between the matcha and milk flavour. At first glanced it seems like that matcha looks grainy but after a good mix it kinda disappear. Although I do wished the matcha could be on the stronger side. I would recommend this to those who would prefer more of balanced side of matcha. I would recommend the matcha tea if you would prefer a stronger matcha flavour, which I did enjoy more of.
Place is very busy, and we had to wait a bit to get a table to sit at. So plan ahead if you want to stay and hang out. But perfect for grab and go. So much tea and matcha that you can grab to make drinks at home with as well. They also seem to brew fresh tea pots as well which is super cool. Team was very nice - kept the place very clean , including the bathrooms. - I think there could be a tad bit more lighting, but just a personal opinion. Hojicha latte was the perfect temperature for a cold day - and just the right amount of sweetness - Will drop by again in the future to explore the menu! read more

Obviously, this place has its reputation. It's very crowded and causal. There are seatings at the back. It feels like more like a bubble tea place but with matcha drink. But the flavour of the matcha is a bit lack. read more

They do tea tasting which shows how proud they are of the tea, which I can get behind. I support the tea here. Big fan of their matcha - they use Marukyu Koyamaen's matcha so you know it's solid. I asked for 50% but I think 75% would be better. I would skip the earl grey cake. Get spot to get a cute bite or study in the back. There's a good amount of seating tucked in the back. read more

One of my favourite cafes to visit. Reasons: 1. Clean washroom: the washroom may be a mess sometimes but it's clean and smells clean! Whenever I need a washroom I can trust, this is my go-to spot in the area. 2. Plenty of seating space: at the back of the cafe, they have bar-style seating for their tea experiences, as well as a variety of 2-8 person wooden tables. At the front of the cafe there's more high seating near the order counter. 3. Great ambient space: you can get a lot of work or studying done thanks to their free wifi. 4. Drink Variety: you can order both bubble tea and pots of traditional tea. For the bubble tea/hand crafted drinks, a top favourite - and for good reason - is the matcha strawberry latte. I usually order this with oat milk, 50-75% sugar, and tapioca pearls. Ice is fixed. They use Marukyumen Matcha which is currently very popular because of its light, grassy flavour. The strawberry seems to be mashed or blended strawberry syrup and offers a wonderful sweetness. For the traditional tea experience, you have an option for a single cup, tea bar, and tea set with a selection of different types of tea (oolong, black, white, green, pu erh). The tea bar is a beautiful pot of brewed tea served with one tea cup. My favourite is the tea set which offers the greatest value. It's probably meant to be shared, but it comes in handy when you intend to stay for hours! You get a large pitcher jug of hot water, 2 tea cups, and a matching tea pot for you to steep your tea. They always serve it in beautiful unique pots. My last visit had a pumpkin themed pot and cups! The hot water has unlimited refills; I've been able to successfully complete a whole pitcher but I ended up feeling pretty full and buzzed by that time, so the refills are realistic with multiple people. You could also get additional tea cups at an extra charge. 5. Tea flavour: they put extra care when it comes to brewing and quality and you can taste it in the tea because it's always just right. Never burnt and bitter. They sell tins of tea and individual samplers. I've tried their tangerine Pu erh; it was my first time trying any pu erh. It was earthy and I wasn't sure how to brew it at all LOL but it was good! I also bought the citron white tea a while ago, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Highly recommend others visit!!! I come to this cafe just for their iced strawberry matcha latte--it's that good. Probably the best I've had in Toronto so far. I always ask for it half sweet since I prefer drinks that aren't too sugary, and it's perfect that way. The flavours are well-balanced, and the matcha tastes fresh and smooth. I've tried a hot drink here before (a regular matcha latte, I think) and didn't enjoy it, but the iced strawberry version is a standout. It's not cheap, but the cup is large and the price is typical for Toronto. If you're into matcha and like a fruity twist, this is a must-try. read more
Saved this spot to come to one day because of the great reviews they had.... I was able to stop in yesterday and get myself a drink. Store front is very easy to see and find, inside is quite small. Ordering station is right up at the front of entry. Service was insanely fast, I think I waited 2 minutes for my drink. The place was packed inside. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. And let me tell you... this is THE BEST matcha latte I've ever tasted. I got half sweet and it was perfection. The strawberry goes so nicely with the matcha!! Excited to come back & try more drinks! I always heard about Icha Tea but never got a chance to visit until recently. I went and ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte that everyone always talks about. It was really good, the balance of matcha and strawberry puree was a good ratio. If you have a sweet tooth, this drink is for you! This matcha is UNMATCHED. Typically, matcha (especially iced) drinks are powdery or grainy. Delightfully, the matcha strawberry drink was not only smooth and creamy, the strawberry flavour was also not overpowering. I forget what kind of milk tea we got, but I can say with full confidence that their milk tea flavour was perfect. All the tea notes were brought out wonderfully with no bitterness. There is a very quiet room in the back, dim lighting, and instrumental music. There were lots of people there doing work on their laptops or just catching up. And wonderful atmosphere! read more

After hearing from a friend about how great this place was for matcha, I had to give a try when I was in Toronto! It was definitely on the pricier side (around $8) so I wouldn't get this often but man! It was probably the best strawberry matcha I've had The matcha was very high quality and the 50% sugar level was just the right amount for me, super smooth and rich with the milk and strawberry. I couldn't fault this strawberry matcha for anything really. I appreciated the option to customize the sugar level and also add toppings if desired - it's in a pretty convenient location alongside many other eateries in Chinatown. read more
A place I would come back to!! I just love the ambiance, they have a lot of seating but it's usually overtaken by students studying. The aesthetic of this place is so nice with the ability to buy grams of tea and lots of fresh tea. I got a peach tea and it was nicely brewed, refreshing and not astringent at all. Take my review with a grain of salt, but I don't think I ordered the right drink on the menu. I got the Chrysanthemum Milk Tea with Pearls and I found it to be quite bland and lacklustre - a watered down, slightly bitter Hong Kong milk tea. The pearls were chewy though. Would recommend trying a different drink. read more

From open to close, jam packed with people. This place is always busy. I think because it's near the heart of Chinatown and close to a lot of shopping spots of queen st. Anyways, expect to wait. If you don't have the patience, then this isn't the place. I waited 15 minutes for my drink but I knew I. Was going to get quality so I couldn't complain. The drinks range from sweet fruity stuff, to soft teas and hard coffees. Whatever your preference, they have a drink for you. The place is sorta big if you keep walking down the narrow hallway. It leads to sitting spaces where all the hipsters come to do 'work' on the computers. read more

They mastered the strawberry matcha latte. I was in Toronto for a weekend and visited this place 3 times. The strawberry matcha latte and strawberry hojicha latte were both great at 25%. The ratios for everything were great. (I also got the regular matcha latte, but they add milk instead of strawberry puree so it is not v good). There's always a line but it moves quick. There is also plenty of seating in the back. Definitely check it out if you want matcha in Toronto. read more

4.5 rounded up to 5 The strawberry hojicha was absolutely amazing! I was originally worried that it might be too strong, but it had a nice roasted flavor that the sweet strawberry puree complemented well. The mixed drink wasn't too bitter or sweet. The hojicha and strawberry was a perfect combination at a 75% sugar level for someone who loves sweet drinks. During my visit to Toronto, I came back here multiple times because I loved this drink so much. While the line was out the door each time, customer service was great and quick! I was able to get my drink after a reasonable wait time. Icha also has many cute teapots and jewelry to browse at while waiting for your order. I also tried the strawberry matcha since it was raved about in reviews. I personally thought it was average and comparable to NYC spots. The matcha was overpowered by the strawberry and could've had a better proportion, but the matcha tasted very high quality and you can tell that the staff cares about using the proper technique when making the tea :) read more
I came here a couple years ago and remember it was an aesthetic spot to study while drinking tea. I think the customer service was just okay from what I remembered, nothing outstanding but nothing bad. I think they renovated so the seating does look a bit different. It's still just as aesthetic though. There's wifi if you ask the staff at the counter. I think it was ilovetea. But when I tried connecting to it, the service was horrid. I wasn't able to use it. So I would just recommend coming here not for the wifi but for just studying or reading. This time around I got the ice strawberry matcha latte. This drink was highly raved all over TikTok. I've tried good quality matcha from Japan and the matcha here is decent. The matcha was better than the bubble tea spots but it's not as good as the ones I had in Japan. The strawberry flavour was also kind of mild? On TikTok other people has more strawberry than me. I think the drink overall is just okay, I was overhyped by how great it would've been that I'm a bit disappointed. read more

A fabulous place to have Chinese tea. You can just buy tea like being in any bubble tea shops. Or like us had the KungFu tea experience by brewing the tea by ourselves. Performing KungFu tea style brewing has 2 advantages. The first one is to feel the true flavour of the tea because the fresh leaves (well... fresh dried leaves) can release its flavour fully. The second, the whole process is very slow. It slowers your fast-pace, anxious modern life style and make you peace in mind. You can have chat with your friends or family. I can't think of any other store provides you the same experience so i definitely recommend Icha Tea read more

one of my favourite cafes dt!!! their teas are great! i love how strong they are. they brew it right in front of you too. so if it ever gets busy, you might have to wait a bit for your drink, but i'd say it's worth it. they have a cute spot tucked at the back. I haven't personally spent time back there, but I definitely would. Didn't take a photo of their matcha drinks, but that's my go to here. read more
