Interesting matcha combinations and pastry flavors. The space is trendy and has a large dining space.

As a matcha lover this place could be better and give more matcha. However, for the regular matcha drinker this place is fun and sufficient. They offer a lot of different flavor pairings and they hand whisk everything. Service is fast but it is a busy and popular spot. Vibes are fun and very urban/clubby. If you get the ube don't expect to really taste the matcha.

Matcha Matcha (Club) is a cafe specializing in all things matcha (and hojicha!). The popular cafe became a hit at their original location near Church/Carlton and have since expanded to this 2nd downtown Toronto location near Dundas and McCaul. The menu features multiple matcha and hojicha drink creations including black caramel matcha, pistachio matcha, Tokyo Fog matcha (earl grey, vanilla, lemon zest, and matcha)...as well as hojicha cheesecake, strawberry hojicha, and cherry chocolate hojicha. They also serve pastries as well as soft serve as well. Opening hours are 8am to 8pm daily. Matcha Matcha recently had a grand opening special for 3 days where they officially opened on Oct 17. I stopped by Matcha Matcha on a Wed morning right when they opened at 8am. The staff weren't ready yet (as they were still opening the shop) but unlocked the door for me when I tried to open the door. Upon entering, the space is definitely bigger than their first location with lots more seating. The space is minimalistic. The matcha bar is definitely the focal point of the space where you order from the kiosks at the bar. Once ordering your drink or food is prepared for you where staff call out your name once it is ready for pick up. Despite ordering from the kiosk, staff were friendly. My drink was made at a reasonable time (considering I was the first customer of the day). I decided to enjoy my drink for a little bit before heading to work. I decided to get a hojicha coco cloud (hojicha white chocolate paired with coconut water). The drink was a bit sweet for me but I liked how the base of the beverage was coconut water instead of dairy. During my 5-10 min there enjoying my drink and the space, there were a few customers who also came in to grab drinks. It was definitely nice that they open early in the morning especially since I was able to grab a drink before work. The location is definitely in a busy area where it is walkable from Eatons Centre as well as the AGO. Overall, a great place for matcha (and hojicha) where there are many creative drink options available (that you can't find elsewhere). This location will definitely be popular as time goes on. I will definitely be back in the future to try other matcha and hojicha drinks!

I walked by this place the other day and saw that it was packed. I got curious and had to come try it myself, and oh my, this has to be the best hidden gem I've found on this trip to Toronto. They offer classic matcha and hojicha drinks and soft serves, along with their own twist on the originals. I tried the Matcha Cheesecake latte, which is a matcha latte topped with a cheese foam layer, and it's hands down my favorite matcha drink ever. I also tried their Matcha Canelé and loved it. It had a super crunchy exterior baked to the point where the sugar caramelized, and a soft, chewy interior. It was really good. There are many bakery and dessert options as well. If you really enjoy their matcha drinks, they also sell matcha-making sets, such as a matcha whisk, sifter, and the ceremonial Uji matcha powder itself. The staff were super nice and friendly. I love that you can watch them make your drink since the layout feels like an open bar. There is plenty of seating right by the huge window overlooking the street. I would definitely come back to try more things next time.

Slowly working my way through the menu thanks to their recent gift card special for the holidays (please run it again for Christmas 2026)! I tried their mango sago not sago (limited time), the BLU, white chocolate pistachio, banana brûlée and the matcha float. I would not reorder the matcha BLU again as the ube was overpowering the matcha (couldn't really taste the lavender or blueberry as well). Planning to try the hojicha series next. I haven't been to the Church location but glad this location barely has any lines.

I got the mango coconut matcha latte. It had a nice matcha taste at the top and a nice sweet mango taste at the bottom. One critique is the ice cubes are big and takes awhile to melt. They got many other different drinks to choose from

Walking inside, the warm cosy lighting and long barista/display counter immediately caught our eye. While it was relatively busy, it was also fairly quiet - perfect for those who wanted a quieter space as well as those looking for soft, casual conversation. We were sucked in by the delectable looking strawberry roll cake in the display counter for an early dessert! The cake was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, balanced with just the right amount of strawberry & whipped cream filling. We also shared a hot, unsweetened matcha latte. The bitterness of the matcha, creaminess of the frothed milk & whipped cream, and sweetness of the cake were a perfect culinary match :) Would definitely come back for another visit!

I know that the ube trend is taking over but PLEASE before you advertise your product as such, DO YOUR RESEARCH and make sure that you are actually serving the thing. I'm Filipino and not only did I feel so offended by how this tasted, I also felt like I should be refunded. First of, the ube mixture was RED. I don't know where you're getting your ube mixture from but ube is PURPLE. The powder was chunky and did not at all taste like ube. Please, I get it we all want to make money from whats popular but take time to educate yourself. Get it from the right source OR ask a person who knows the product if its being presented right or if tastes remotely close. I'm very disappointed and would no longer be advertising Neo to my friends & family

Seating is solid, but noise can be hit or miss depending on the time of day. Coffee is good but a bit inconsistent. I usually go for cortados, and while I've had some really good ones here, other times the milk-to-espresso ratio feels off. The flat white, on the other hand, was excellent. Still need to try the pour-over. Service is always good too! Food is solid. Chocolate chip banana muffin was great, turkey sandwich was okay. The atmosphere is fantastic; it's vibrant, cozy, and just a great place to be. The only thing you need to know is that this café is popular for a reason. It's often busy, so you might not always find a table to sit and work at. But honestly, the quality of the coffee and the great vibe make the occasional standing-room-only situation completely worth it. Just grab your perfect drink and enjoy!
