    Matcha strawberries

Just delicious shaved ice. Nice and clean location with some tables to sit and enjoy. My faves are the matcha and the blossom, but you really can't go wrong with any of the flavours. Service is friendly as well. Glad they opened up in Vaughan!

2025-04-20. The Cups Vaughan. On Easter Sunday, Vaughan Mills is closed, but many of the peripheral restaurants are still open. The newly opened cups (April 12, 2025) is one such business. Serving Bing Su (Korean shaved ice) and a variety of coffees and other drinks. They also have a small section of cakes. There is plenty of free parking just out front in the plaza. Inside the place is bright and cozy and seats about 28 comfortably. We were here for the Bing Su, and today we tried the Red Bean, the Black Sesame, the Blueberry, and the Tiramisu. The Bing Su itself (I.e. the shaved ice) was very good. Super light and fluffy and is exactly what I expected of Bing Su. 5 stars. Since Bing Su carries no flavour, it relies heavily on what complements it. Black Sesame Bing Su. This had a blend of of black sesame and sugar for the base. A scoop of red bean and a scoop of black sesame ice cream on top. The goblet was decorated with black sesame powder. Both the red bean and black sesame was pretty good. The base was not as sweet as I like, but there was a scoop of condensed milk nestled under the Bing Su, so if you mix it up a bit, you'll get the sweetness you crave! 4 stars. Tiramisu Bing Su. Topped with an actual piece of Tiramisu! The cake was frozen and I was hoping for a mascarpone base, but didn't quite get it. It was coffee based as expected. The goblet was dusted with dark cacao powder. Not bad, but not exactly to my tastes. 3 stars. Red Bean Bing Su. The red bean didn't disappoint but the base was some kind of soy. The goblet was rimmed with soy powder. 3 stars. Blueberry Bing Su. This has a nice blueberry sauce base and like the tiramisu, the blueberries were on the cold side. The blueberries were sweet and was berry enjoyable. 4.5 stars! Overall, the Bing Su was not a disappointment. The shaved ice is the correct consistency and there are a good variety of flavors creatively presented. I want to thank Cindy T. and her staff for filling our Bing Su craving and for the fun experience! If you'd like to experience more come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company! Bon appétit!

Great Vibe, Disappointing Espresso (from an ex-Barista)…read moreStepped into this spot looking to grab some genuinely good coffee. As an ex-barista, I'm fussy--I hate spending money and not getting a quality product. Unfortunately, the coffee was a swing and a miss. I ordered one iced latte and one hot latte. In both drinks, the espresso was burnt. I actually watched the barista pulling the shots, and I could tell immediately. To make matters worse, the hot drink was barely a latte; it was essentially a cappuccino based on the absurd amount of foam on top. Plus, the milk itself was ruined. There's a certain temperature and texture for steaming milk, and this was clearly burnt milk that had been frothed way too aggressively. Aesthetically, the café is lovely--it's cute and a great spot to work from home. My recommendation? Skip the espresso drinks. Maybe try the matcha or a pastry instead. I definitely won't be back for the coffee.

It was quick! 1 person ahead of me ordering :) So happy I got to try this place as it's been on my list for quite some time. 5/5 as soon as I took my first bite. Ordered the tiramisu, chocolate/hazelnut croissant and a Spanish coffee. All were excellent. I enjoyed the various flavours that were light yet not too sweet or overpowering. Flaky pastry, and so so fresh. The mortadella & pistachio. Focaccia was fresh and fillings were generous. I would highly recommend. First thing I noticed was their display of focaccia sandwiches. They had 4 kinds. I wish I didn't already have lunch plans. I love focaccia! The fillings offered were interesting like, mortadella x pistachios or prosciutto x truffle! I will have to return. I came here for the pastry. They had at least 16 different kinds of croissants and danishes. Not including cookies, whole pies and they also serve coffee and loaves of bread. Tiramisu danish was one of their popular items so I got that plus a plain croissant. Wow, the tiramisu was a 10/10! I mean, there was even a piece of ladyfinger soaked in coffee inside the danish! It was unbelievable. It was such a delightful dessert. As for the plain croissant, it was sadly average. It didn't have that crispy, flaky bite I enjoy. Note there is no seating area but there is a counter with a view of the parking lot.

The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

The espresso here is excellent - well-bodied in flavour, medium roast (I think?), and pairs nicely with the sweetness of the cakes & pastries. There's also a wide selection of small personal cakes to choose from - just make sure you come early since they do sell out! We shared the cream & crumb cheesecake (simple, classic, and incredibly creamy!) and tiramichoux (think a tiramisu profiterole - such a fun twist!). Looking forward to my next visit already :)

That level of care really comes through in the cup; you can taste the depth and intentionality in every sip. I ordered the vanilla bean iced latte, and it was easily one of the best espresso bases I've had in a while. The shot itself was rich and layered: deep, chocolatey, and nutty striking a really nice balance between bitterness and acidity. It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. Still, I'd absolutely come back when I'm in the mood for a more premium coffee experience. (Funny note - the barista and I had a small rant together about how people order "iced cappuccino" and macchiato expecting Starbucks milk sugary drink instead of the "proper" shot with dollop of foam. I understand their pain hahah)

My cousin and I arrived shortly after opening on New Year's Eve. The cafe has a small interior with minimal seating, mostly bench seating along the wall with small round coffee tables. Even though there was only one barista working that morning, she was efficient at taking orders and making drinks despite several orders happening at once. We did not feel like we were waiting very long. I ordered a pour-over with the Finca El Paraiso Peach Colombian beans, which use a thermal shock washed process. That was something I had not heard of before. The tasting notes listed nectarine, tropical fruit, and caramel, and it was recommended since I was looking for something more out of the ordinary. I enjoyed the wilder flavor profile, but it was hard to fully appreciate because the coffee tasted overly diluted. The barista mentioned she used a 15g to 250g bean-to-water ratio, which is higher than how I normally enjoy my pour-overs. My cousin ordered a flat white with whole milk that was very creamy with strong espresso notes. We also ordered a matcha latte for my other cousin, which was apparently too creamy. Overall, the beans themselves were good, but the pour-over leaned watery for my personal preference. The bag of beans used for the pour-over was priced at $32, which is only a bit more than double the cost of the pour-over itself. In hindsight, I felt slightly ripped off and should have just bought the beans instead.

The cakes, the bread, deep fried things all have no signs or prices, so unless you know what it is you won't feel comfortable. The service was patient and friendly, but I caused a back log on the line up, but if they had signage I would know that the cod ball wasn't a dessert filled with cream.
