I love anything Dubai chocolate. The bar has a pretty decent amount of the pistachio kunafa filling with an addictive crunch and texture. The only qualm I have for this is that the chocolate bar gets super oily at room temperature, which makes me believe the chocolate isn't properly tempered. The chocolate was matte due to the fat bloom and doesn't have that chocolate bar kind of shine. It tasted great but melts quickly in your hands and can get messy. For its expensive price, I'd spend my money on their other sweet treats and purchase this kind of chocolate elsewhere. read more

First time at this cafe. Aesthetically pleasing when we first walked in. We did not know that this cafe was entirely self-serve. The gentleman that was helping was helpful and pleasant there was another girl behind the counter that was not helpful or pleasant. And was told they would bring the items to your table. But that wasn't the case. So you have to seat yourself. Go to the counter place your order. Go pick up your order and also bring your empty dishes to the front table. Not sure why we have to tip if we are doing all the work and there is little interaction with staff. The place was very busy till closing. Was looking for a place that served cake so I came here with my gf for dessert one night. I do get the vibes that it's more of a coffee/latte place that also happens to serve pastries. We ordered a black sesame cheesecake and a tiramisu. I liked the black sesame cheesecake more than the tiramisu but I think my partner preferred the tiramisu more. It's counter service as other ppl have already pointed out. You walk in, order first at the cashier, grab your order and then find a spot to sit. The cafe was pretty PACKED when we arrived but luckily we managed to find a seat in the back. Would definitely be open to revisiting to try some coffee or latte. P.S. The shrimp was undercooked but the staff kindly apologized and took it back to reheat - I do wish the pasta was less saucy and that they should have reheated the pasta as well. They also offer a variety of stuffed Korean style Macarons that look amazing and well priced from $3.50. I decided to try one of they Dacquoise $4.00. I asked what they are like and were described as similar to Macarons. I decided on Walnut and Fig Dacquoise. It was so delicious. I suggest you eat it by opening it up and eating it one half at a time to really savour and taste the beautiful flavourful fig jam in the walnut cream. So heavenly. The Banana Bread looked really good. It was loaded with Chocolate Chips and smelled divine. I didn't get a taste... my friend didn't offer LOL!! This cafe is quite cute and quaint. The staff at the front was very friendly and was helping pick out a cake since I have never eaten their cake before. I ended up getting the Chanel cake with a hot matcha latte with no sugar. It wasn't bad overall but don't think the cakes are made in house so a lot of processed sugar haha, what can you do. This cafe is a self serve- you order and pay and they give you a buzzer when your order is ready. For the 15% tip as the lowest option, I don't think it's worth it. The 2 women looked as if customers are disturbing them from their chitchat. Owners should send an "undercover customer" to get a feedback. Sadly some employees in customer service lack the training and the skills. This is a prime example. I doubt that I'll be back. Came on a weekend evening and was seated right away. You order at the counter and then take a seat where it is available. The vibes inside are very warm and cozy (wooden interiors). The desserts here were pretty expensive (around $7-8), but tasty. Some more than others. Servers were friendly and answered any questions you had about the desserts. Teas and coffees also available. This would be the type of cafe you would spend a few hours at - it would be nice for playing card games with friends or even studying. Cafe Login is perfect for coffee x latte art x dessert lovers :) It is absolutely spacious, and very importantly, it can accommodate large groups! This cafe has its own bakery with buns and sandwich bites. It also carries desserts from Rahier Patisserie, Young's Macarons, and makes their own fluffy cheesecakes. I personally love Rahier pastries, and I'm so excited that they have it here! The Mixed Berries Tart was very delicious, especially with the shortbread crust, creme tutti and fresh berries! Let's talk about Young's Macarons! Most of them are Asian-inspired and the flavours change daily. They are not as sweet, and absolutely delicious! 3.5 stars - One of my favourite korean hot pan restaurants changed into this beautiful cafe. They carry pastries from Rahier, and serve espresso drinks, tea, house made fruit drinks. Good- 1. spacious place with different sections 2. free wifi 3. relaxing and good music 4. price is right - drinks and pastries not overpriced. Need improvement - 1. Service - No one greeted us when we walked in until I asked. At first I was confused because there was no instructions, sign to tell customers to be seated or order at counter. 2. I love coming here to get some work done. Most people seem to come here with laptops to study or do work. It's a nice spot for light studying, but it can get a bit loud so I wouldn't come here if I needed to do anything requiring a lot of focus. The iced coffee here is good, they make their coffee pretty strong so if you don't like that flavour you'll definitely need to dilute with milk and sugar. I've noticed they don't have any sugar syrup for the iced coffee, only sugar packages which is kinda annoying since sugar can't dissolve in a cold drink. I like my iced coffee strong so I don't mind as much, but it would be nice if they had sugar syrup. The macarons are really good, they're always changing the flavours but I would suggest the green tea + milk tea macaron, or the bean flavour. They're just the right amount of sweetness to pair with a coffee, and together they taste really good. My only complaint is that sometimes the tables appear to be unclean, and I've had to wipe them myself. Cafe login is a Korean style cafe located on the north side of Steele close to Yonge. The interior is quite pretty with vintage type writers and other similar themed decor. For whatever reason I really wanted a good slice of cake on that particular day. Two things contributed to a disappointing experience there. Initially I was intending to sit down and do some work but I stood in the 'wait to be seated' area and was practically ignored for three minutes. The second disappointing thing was they do not make their own cakes. While there's nothing wrong with cakes supplied by Rahier, but I was looking for more unique Korean offerings. So based on circumstance, I opted to buy a choux pastry. The choux pastry was more of the bready type that is common in Japan. The portion is huge which also presents a problem since the cream portion has to be in proportion to the bread which means that there's a whole lot of custard cream. While the cream was tasty, the size made the entire thing way too heavy. However I did like the fact that they tried to put a Korean spin to it by dusting mugwort powder on top of the dessert. Given the fact I never got to even sit down at a table, I think it's a rather generous 3 out of 5 for Cafe Login. read more

Found this Korean cafe on yelp while trying to find a place to get pastries for my friend's birthday and it did not disappoint! They're known for their macarons and daquoise (which is essentially a hybrid of a cream puff and macaron). Unlike regular macarons, the fillings for these are thiccccc and so soft and creamy. The flavours for each really stand out and they're surprisingly not super sweet. You gotta try the matcha, red velvet and sweet potato daquoise, as well as the espresso and red bean macarons. The macarons are priced at $2.75 while the daquoise are $3.75 - worth it if you ask me as their items are pretty big. Def wanna pick up other flavours if I'm ever in the area! read more

Interesting to see that this place replaced the korean jokbal restaurant for a cafe. This is a nice alternative, saw a lot of students come here to socialize and study. I came here for the bingsoo. It came served in one bowl thats pretty big, for sharing. We got the starwberry bingsoo for $12.95, kinda pricy imo. We got a buzzer after paying for our bingsoo and found a table to sit at. Noticed that they make all of their jam preserves in house which was cool. The bingsoo itself could have been better. The snow flakes were very bland and watery. Lacked flavour and taste. The strawbery bits were quite good, but definitely did not feel worth $12.95... oddly enough there is another bingsoo place a couple doors down that tastes better. read more

The desserts are very good however doesn't seem to be authentic but brought in from Rahier (as labeled on the chocolate on top of the tiramisu). The baristas are very good and didn't disappoint. Cafe Login was good for some respects, but not so good for others. The ambience was fantastic, the divided the space into halves -- one more study focused and the other social. This is different as it's easier to get into either setting without having to be overly quiet or overly loud. The decor is great and has so much personality and would be the glaring reason I'd recommend it. The main display fridge where the items are displayed are a little bright, would prefer it just a touch dimmer. The side fridge with the preserves inside are too dull. As this place is new, they might be working the kinks out. Furthermore, I think the fridge may be too cold. The reason I say this is because the big sellers seem to be the berry tarts and you lose a level of freshness when the fridge is too cold. For example, the raspberry tart was just a little hard. A solution would be to lightly heat it, hence making a $7+ tart more enjoyable. Coffee is well priced, but I'm a little disappointed that the pastries are not from Cafe Login, but from Rahier. This makes me inherently naturally consider going to Bake Code as I'd immediately get a fresher product that was made in-house. Cafe Lingo is at a very good starting point as they are still very young. Overtime with improvements, this will be the first choice of many in the area. read more

My friend and I dropped by on a Friday night to catch up over desserts. I was initially hesitant to come as the cakes are from Rahier (which I can get elsewhere), but the design of this place drew me in. The interior is vintage-styled w/ a cozy ambiance, and the socializing half is separated from the work/study area. Free wifi is available. In terms of the food, Café Login offers desserts such as cakes, macarons, and bingsu, along with espresso drinks, tea, and fruit drinks. We opted for a milk dacquoise, injeolmi & earl grey macarons, a Chanel cake (light pistachio mousse, raspberry gelee, and raspberry soaked white sponge), and a café latte. I could taste the pistachio & raspberry in the cake (more so the raspberry), but it was a bit too sweet for me; I preferred the dacquoise & macarons more. The dacquoise had two meringue shells filled w/ buttercream in-between; the shells had a light sticky crunch and complemented well with the cream. The macarons had good depth of flavor (particularly the earl grey) and there was a good ratio of filling to shell. The texture was also nicely done; the airy shell crackled & dispersed into the soft filling as I bit into it and it had just the right chewiness w/o being too sweet. The café latte was strong with the espresso and paired well w/ the desserts. Overall, this is a great cafe to hang out or work, and it stays open till late night. I can't speak for the bingsu and the cake was alright, but I did enjoy the dacquoise & macarons. Price was fair for the drinks as well ($3.5 for a medium latte). One feedback for the owners though would be to place a price tag in front of the desserts; I just ordered anyways but it would've been good to know. read more

A feat that deserves mention. My biggest gripe with this cafe is the limited selection on menu , even within the variety of desserts, such as the macaroons. With that being said, the menu items are great and memorable. The cheesecake was very similar to Uncle Tetsu, but was firmer and sweet.
