Strawberry milk and tofu soft serve

Kinda wish they did a seating limit for the tables here, as it is small and very busy! They do have a variety of pastries and baked goods available, which are all very yummy. The service is well organized and coordinated that even though the line was long it didn't take long for our order to be taken

Excellent bakery/cafe. The pastries are excellent and the coffee was pretty good too. Nice modern vibe. (Glass, chrome and light colours). They have savory items as well as lots of pastries and cookies. I had the frangipane tart which was excellent. And my friend had the ham and cheese Danish. I also bought these amazing lemon lavender cookies. Located in a strip mall. Parking right there. A fair number of tables are available but it's a busy spot. Turnover is regular.

The bakery itself is pretty. Nicely designed. We had high expectations coming in since my coffee connoisseur friend recommended their coffee but when our cappuccino came out it was too sour to drink. I mean, milk is suppose to mellow out flavors but this was bad. We had another one made and it was slightly less sour. Their pastries were pleasant though. The fig was well made, slightly sweet and nice texture.

Duo Cafe has been a staple in my cafe rotation since its opening. This time, I visited with a friend and we indulged in the flaky, buttery perfection of the hazelnut banane, sufficiently garlicky garlic bread, and the espresso cookie which packed a nice bitter kick (though I think they've since retired it from their menu). Prices lean towards the steep side, and finding a seat can be difficult. Once the place fills up, the ambiance quickly shifts from cozy to bustling. Service can dawdle, especially with drinks, but the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Their display is always pristine, and prices are transparent. I'm a repeat offender for their baked goods and decadent cakes.

    Iced Chai latte. Delicious.

Highlights: Iced Chai Latte & Sheppard Quiche. But the cakes we got were not as impressive as their sister location at 230 Commerce Valley Dr. The Iced Chai Latte hit the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Best ever. Their Sheppard Quiche was super savory. I want to buy a whole next time to enjoy it with wine at home. :) I came here as I was kind of bored of the Duo Patisseries' same cake line-ups these days - so I hoped that I can get something new here. But the experience was a bit disappointing. For cakes we got: #1. Luna: good but not wow. The tastes of raspberry, chocolate creams and the cacao biscuit base are all good but the combination did not demonstrate the textual contrast. I liked the outer thin raspberry flavored chocolate. I wished it had a dark chocolate profile - just my preference. #2. Tiramisu: Good for sure but not wow. #3. Cheese flan: It was more like a bold, buttery and dense NY Cheesecake compared to Japanese/French delicate one. Filled with coconut, cranberries, candied orange, and pineapple. These ingredients did add refreshing tastes and complex textures, but not the one I expected from Duo Patisserie level delicacy.

Overall rating 4.5/5 (rounded up on Yelp) I've heard about Duo Cafe for years but never got around to visiting until recently. Instantly was transported to a French patisserie. From the freshly-baked, flakiest croissants and danishes I've ever seen in the suburbs, to the beautifully crafted pastries, and to the entire ambiance of the cafe, I loved my experience here! A perfect spot for afternoon meet ups and chats. Only reason I'd take off 0.5 star is because of the price. Some items (ex. sandwiches and pastries) can be quite expensive. However, I will say that the craftsmanship of the delicate, beautiful pastries & viennoiseries is outstanding, so I can understand the pricing.

Beautiful cafe with flaky croissants Food: Arrived on a weekday morning and it wasn't too busy, but the array of pastries and sandwiches was beautifully displayed and they all looked delicious. I ended up getting the almond chocolate croissant, which was buttery and flaky, crumbling with each and every bite. The chocolate wasn't too sweet, and balanced everything very well. Service: The staff were all very friendly and offered recommendations on what to get. Atmosphere: The decor of the cafe was very pleasing and is perfect for a date or a quick business meeting, reminiscent of coffee shops downtown.

I got the roast beef croissant as recommended (between that and the salami one). It was super tasty. Not packed with roast beef, but enough to be pleased. Rare/med rare. Will try the salami one next time. Got their black sesame latte since they were out of the duo tea latte. It tasted like the chinese sesame stew lol. It's tasty, but not worth the price. Make sure to mix it as you drink as the sesame will settle. Will hope the duo tea latte is not sold out next time, or try a different drink. Staff is very patient and ready to serve. Ambiance is nice. Some nice quiet piano music in the background. A nice neutral / clean palette.

Cute little cafe for pastries, cakes and ice cream. Seating is a little tough as they do get busy. There's specialty jams and spreads that make great gift items as well.

I went to this Duo cafe, sister of duo patisserie and boy am I glad I did. I picked up 4 pastries, 2 croissants (they were so flaky and delicious), 1 chocolate book (also flaky and decadent) and 1 danish (sweet and flavourful). I didn't like that they just bagged it and didn't put into a box like my preferred way for pastries. I asked for a box and they said minimum 8 pieces. I was not pleased but it is what it is. (I didn't need 8 pastries at the time). Either way the quality and deliciousness of the ones I got more than made up for it. I will be back and I do recommend this place. On a side note, make sure you check their hours of operation as they close suddenly or are not open certain days. At least that's what I found, I have driven in numerous times only to find that they are closed. Otherwise this is a good place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This is one of my favourite cafés uptown! They have amazing craftsmanship and quality pastries. I love that this spot has a lot of savoury and sweet options including traditional French pastries and those with an Asian twist. You'll find classic pastries like croissants and tarts and some stand outs are the chestnut tart and mushroom bechamel focaccia. They also have gourmet ice cream cakes which are beautiful with balanced flavours which are not too sweet. The space is bright and spacious. You first get in line to order along the display of fresh pastries. After you order, pay, and you let staff know if it's for here or to go. If you're dining it, they'll provide you with some paper plates. Self serve sugar, milk, napkins, etc. and clean up your own space when you leave.

It smells ammmazing when you walk in! Selection on a Sat around 1pm

But the egg was a bit overcooked, so not as runny as an authentic omurice. The croquette was very runny and a little too sweet. The Hojicha Latte was perfect though! Not too milky and had a subtle sweetness. Probably should have ordered one of their Soufflé Pancakes, but we were already full from our meal. The space itself is bright, cozy, and modern. It's great for a casual brunch. The menu focuses on creative takes on classic brunch dishes, with most plates around $18-$25 and drinks about $6-$9. We tried the pork sausage shakshouka, pork jowl eggs benny, and a strawberry matcha latte. The drink was a standout--refreshing, nicely layered, and not overly sweet. The dishes themselves had good flavors and promising concepts. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes for a table during the busy Saturday brunch rush, and parking around the plaza was difficult. When the food arrived, the eggs in both the eggs benny and the shakshouka were overcooked, which was disappointing since runny yolks are key to both dishes. Overall, Corner Cafe has a nice vibe and an interesting brunch menu, but the long wait, tough parking, and inconsistent execution made the experience fall short this time.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere hit that perfect sweet spot, that classy but cozy, with a definite New York City energy.
