Not huge on desserts but this place is fantastic. My friend got me a strawberry milk cake to go, which was on BOGO on one of the food apps. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, simply because I'm not big on sweets. The cake is light and spongey and absorbs the leche/milk very nicely, and makes the entire cake very moist. Vastly different in texture to other cakes that rely more on cream and icing to balance the sponge cake. I found this cake lighter and a really unique flavour/texture. It's sweet with flavour that has depth (not just by using more sugar/syrup) and the hints of milk, strawberries, cream, etc all mesh really well. My wife and I went to D-Spot as we wanted to treat ourselves to some dessert given the hectic week we had at work. We decided to go to D Spot as we had been before, but had heard good things about this location. We ended up getting a waffle with fresh fruit and chocolate to share and it was the perfect decision. The fruits were fresh and the waffle was nice and creamy. The employees were also very kind. It was raining outside so we asked for some hot water to warm us up and they brought it to us in no time. You can get your slice customized with the type of drizzle you want, and I went with a Belgian milk chocolate, which was just about right. I also tried their cookies and creme milkshake and one done with honey and dates. The chocolate ice cream isn't premium at all and more like off the local grocery freezer. the chocolate syrup taste like it's artificial. I went to this place because I thought it would be similar to Demetres dessert restaurant but is far from it and taste more like a poor imitation. The washroom doesn't smell nice, one of the toilet stall doesn't have toilet paper (feel sorry to any one who gets caught with it) and one toilet stall has door latch that cannot latch on to stay close with a broke toilet paper dispenser. The hand soap is heavily diluted and might as well be just water. I am horrified to think the staff doesn't washed properly when using the washroom. on the plus side the Americano is not bad. I must caveat everything I say with the glaring headline that the review is based on the drink and few bites of dessert that I had at this location. I didn't get to order an entire dessert order this time, but my friends who did appeared to thoroughly enjoy theirs. We came as a party of 5, and were shocked at the size of this restaurant. As it got later in the night, it became evident why such a size was necessary - it does fill up quite fast, and is a popular joint among all age groups! I ordered a single shot cappuccino, with some chocolate sprinkled on top. It was nice and foamy, but nothing spectacular - particularly not given its high price. My friends ordered an apple pie, another chocolate dessert, a matcha latte, and ginger twist tea. The apple pie came in an interesting shape; it was circular with the filling wrapped within. The two women who shared it did appear to enjoy it, and I was shocked to see that it came with two generous scoops of vanilla ice cream. The ice cream alone overpowered the pie! At $14, I found it quite pricey though. The chocolate dessert consisted of chocolate ice cream wrapped in a crepe, adorned with two dollops of whipped cream, and served with chocolate chips and dark chocolate sauce for you to drizzle it on. The two who shared this liked it, but when I had some of the chocolate chips and sauce, I found it quite stale. There was that unpleasant cardboard smell associated with chocolate that's been stored too long. For months, my friend and former student wanted to take me out to D Spot. She recently changed from an Android to an iOS phone. She didn't get my e-mails until weeks later. She felt bad, wanted to treat me to dessert, and asked that I text her instead so she wouldn't miss a thing. Everything worked out last Thursday. D Spot is located in the same plaza as Royal Jasmine, Swiss Chalet, Kandahar Kabab, and BBQ Tonite. I am nearly done eating my way through this plaza. However, I am not sure how I will work Sugar Daddy, a strip club, into this mix just yet. I walked in, and its decor is both welcoming and cheerful. The booths are high. I just saw a server hovering around the left aisle and thought that my friend was around there. Sure enough, she stood up and I could see her. I was thrilled! She had been here before. She let me know that the ceiling is an inverted layered birthday cake with candles. I looked up like a tourist and said, "Oh, yeah!" I proceeded to take a photo, because that's just who I am. She was dying to have dessert for dinner. She craved a dessert dish that had a waffle, strawberry slices, vanilla ice cream and a ton of chocolate on top. It looks good. I didn't have a chance to take a photo of it. I was too mesmerized by what I had ordered. I ordered a dessert called thank you berry much. It's essentially strawberry slices, strawberry ice cream, and strawberry sauce with whipped cream. You have the choice of having it on a waffle or in a crepe. It was my dilemma of the evening. I love both. After killing a few brain cells, I went with the waffle. The waffle was delicious. The dessert portions are huge! I got way too much strawberry ice cream that I had to leave the equivalent of two scoops on my plate. Heartbreaking, but I had to. I ate everything else, minus the whipped cream. The strawberry slices were ripe and yummy. The strawberry ice cream was perfect. I drizzled half the strawberry sauce on top of everything, which was just right for my liking. It's the first time that I have had dessert for dinner. It was excellent. I have probably had my sugar quota for the entire month. We also ordered Italian sodas. I got the raspberry, which was tasty and light. My friend went with mango. She ordered it half sweet. I'll need to give that a try, although I didn't find my drink to taste overly sweet. It wasn't all that busy when we were there for 2.5 hours, catching up on each other's lives. There was music in the background, but it did not overpower our conversation. It's a cozy place. I loved it here. Our server was great. He checked up on us a number of times. At one point, he said that he needed to dash out for five minutes and asked if we were okay. I loveeee that we now have a chilling spot that's open until late in the city! I always hear how the "East End has amazing places to eat and hang" but in Mississauga, I don't ever hear of that many. I first tried D-Spot when they first opened and really enjoyed the hospitality and warmth of the staff. I also like how there's a prayer room that's easily accessible downstairs and the wall art is on point (an upside down cake, facts written on the wall, etc). As for the food, portions are big enough that it can be shared. Some menu items are sweeter than others (such as the extra chocolatey items on the menu). I'd like to see some alternatives for less sweet options and also more savouries as well, but I do understand that the concept is more focused on desserts though, in which case - I'd like to see more desserts introduced (perhaps with modified sweetness levels). read more

Craving waffles, we came to this restaurant near the airport for dessert. We got the Cookielicious waffle, which was big enough for at least 2 people. There were a lot of dense toppings; brownies, cookie dough, a cookie with molten chocolate in the centre, and ice cream as well! I could not finish more than one quarter of a waffle before I was full. The interior of the restaurant is so cute, there are neon signs and cartoon desserts on the walls! There is also a huge overhead light shaped like an upside down cake which I thought was really unique and cute. I invited a few of our friends to have dessert at D-Spot during their soft opening last night. When I first walked in I noticed the cute interior design of the restaurant. Everything is designed to match the dessert theme. I really liked the bright colours and lighting. There was an upside down birthday cake on the ceiling, chocolate bar walls, and dripping chocolate from the ceiling and the store front. The booths are large and spacious which could accommodate the 6 of us. The booths have wall outlets so you can charge your electronic devices. The service during our stay was friendly and great. Two of the dessert makers/management came by to ask for our feedback. We had nothing to complain about. The waitress was also friendly and knowledgable during our visit. There are a lot of options to choose from the menu. Me and my fiancé shared the velvety and happy dessert on a crepe. It was a large portion and was tasty. So there's no warrant for the long wait time at all because there was literally nothing for them to actually prepare in the kitchen. Whoever decorated D-Spots walls and menu needs an award, it's a trendy look that would make an Instagram influencer jump for joy. For the heck of it we also decided to order the nachos. The nachos came out first and it was a huge platter of chips, cheese, onions, and green peppers. The chocolate brownie crumbles on top were good, but not the best. Generous portions, great pairing of sauces, wide variety of food and great services. There's a strip club of sorts next door, so I'm not sure if it's 100% suitable for family or not. Otherwise, I think this is a great place to stop by and chill. They decorated their ceiling to be an upside down birthday cake, which is pretty cute. The color theme of the whole place is very friendly and fun to stay in. I'd go back if I'm in the area, it's unfortunate that this place is a bit far from me. read more
