I came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon after grabbing lunch across the street. Since it was late afternoon, there was plenty of seating in the restaurant and the service was very attentive. Our server was kind and attentive and overall pretty knowledgeable about the items on the menu. The music that they were playing was also pretty great.

Demetres is one of those places you either love or hate because of how ridiculous it is. If you're looking for nuanced and delicate artistry in your desserts, stay far far away. Demetres is a carnival clown that bops you on the head with the OVER-THE-TOP SWEETNESS of it's offerings. Been to this location three times now, and each time my eyes (and my sweet tooth in overdrive) zeroed in on their crazy waffle/crepe selections. Got the Tongue Depressor (belgian waffle, cocoa chanel icecream, brownies, dark chocolate sauce), Unbrulevable (liege waffle, dulce and banana icecream, brule banana, butter caramel sauce, praline croquant) and Pomme Pilot (liege waffle, subbed the white chocolate icecream with cocoa chanel, warm apple crisps, butter caramel sauce, cinnamon crumble). Yes, each one of those alone is as much of a sugar shot the body can humanly take. And I loooove it! A few call-outs: - The liege waffle is a game-changer. While I will always love the belgian waffle, this is like a cross between the traditional waffle and brioche bread, making it more chewy and dense. - Prices are high, but really, one dessert can be split between at least 2 people. - Service at this location was excellent everytime: friendly without being intrusive, quick and efficient. So yeah, just like a carnival clown, Demetres isn't for everyone. But you know what, sometimes you're just in the mood to give your inner child an over-the-top treat. 5 stars!

New York style cheesecake with strawberries

Good dessert spot! This location always feels very crowded, but somehow we were able to get a table for our party of 8. They offer an array of large desserts that can definitely be shared. The prices are a little high, but it's one of those "treat yourself" spots. Their menu is full of puns, which can prove to be entertaining on its own--granted you know your pop culture references. We got the New York style cheesecake with strawberries, which was pretty good. The cheesecake is pretty typical, while the strawberries are nice and plentiful. With so many locations around the GTA, you're bound to wander in here at some point.

Brownie points!! You can do no wrong with this rich, delicious treat. Chunky, smooth caramel, luscious chocolate ice cream. This dessert is perfect. Get it! 5/5. Lovely service.

I never realized I would come across a place that is dedicated to just desserts! We got the Cocoa Ono, which is honey vanilla ice cream with a chocolate cake with some chocolate sauce, and it was definitely a nice dessert to share after a light dinner. It was sweet, which was what we expected, and a lot of chocolate but in a good way. We also got a hot chocolate, but that was very average and not that amazing. The place seems to be kid and even adult friendly. You see people of all ages here enjoying what they came for, which is dessert. Overall, if you want to get dessert, I don't see why you would hesitate to come here if you have time and just want to eat dessert with others!

The place itself lives upto the expectations in terms of food but not customer service. I would go back again but only for the desserts that they serve. We reached quite late just about 30 mins before into the place- you can say that they are bit frustrated by giving looks like "why now?". I think it's fine for anybody to go in 30 minutes before they close since it's a dessert place and also the desserts arrived in 5 mins after the order.. and we were done with 10 minutes to spare. Imagine how quick everything went but the server kept looking at us which was so uncomfortable while eating. This place is very accessible by transit (beside Chester subway stn) and also paid parking is available on Danforth Avenue

They have a really good variety of ice cream flavours! Very tasty and the service was excellent!

Demetres bring back fond memories of my childhood. I used to hang out with my friends after the movies at Demetres and share a large dessert . I remember the menu is always massive and you can see the kitchen staff making your delicious dessert too. My boyfriend and I were craving a crepe and we had to get the banana strawberry Nutella crepe with a vanilla ice cream. It's an absolute classic and this combination was divine I really liked the sweetness of the Nutella paired with the fruity banana and strawberry . The crepe and the ice cream gave the dessert a more complex texture too. I love homemade crepes, but buying one is always a little different and more satisfying. I want to get waffles from Demetres next time.

One of the dessert places we consistently come to for the past 20 years! The menu constantly changes but you know you'll have plenty of options for dessert. Last time I went most options were variations on waffles/crepes or cake. There are always fun dessert options. A good place to come with friends. Desserts are quite big so plan to share unless you have a big appetite.

For some odd unexplainable reason, I find this location has a slightly better edge over all the other Demetres. Their presentation seems more satisfying. The quality of the food is somehow better. I can't put my finger on it.

Came here for dessert after dinner on the Danforth. It was as expected. Good consistency with Demetre. Ordered a latte, cappuccino and cookie crumble crepe. Was so yummy. Crepe was done perfectly. The Cookie butter ice cream was very nice as well, good density with the cookie element. They accept all forms of payment - visa, MasterCard, Amex, debit and cash.

The desserts they make here are really pretty and served in gigantic portions. I got the Splitsonian Crepe which featured honey vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and bananas, and nutella. The plate was massive to the point that I couldn't finish all of the dessert. You could tell that the ingredients they serve here are of high quality. The ice cream was made with real vanilla beans and the whipped cream was light and not overly sweet. The wait times here for food might test your patience but the dish that ultimately arrives at your table is always worth it.

Stopped by here to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. We ordered what's called the Interstellar and the Sweetcar Named Devour. Both delicious and were very large portions, we both couldn't finish our plates. Service was good and the waitress always made sure we had water. Overall, nice place if you're really craving something sugary. Super cute for a date on the danforth.

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. I got the Avalanche (Skor,Cheesecake, and Caramel) and I loved that they stretched the dough when we ordered and then start frying it right there. It really ensures that we get freshly fried Beaver Tails at the peak of their deliciousness. After I got mine slathered with the toppings I ordered, I dug in and as expected, it's really hot but SOOOOO good. It's like the concept of a donut only thinner and crispier, thus resulting in a much better texture and crunch throughout which I very much prefer over a donut actually. The cheesecake spread mingling with the sweet caramel, crunchy toffee bits, and crispy hot dough is just such a perfect combination. It's a bit of a mess to eat but sooooo worth it. It really is such a shame that there isn't an establishment like this in NYC because it could seriously do some REALLY good numbers over here I reckon. I HAVE to get this again when I come back up to Canada (unless ya'll want to build a place down across the border haha).

When I saw the price was $9.90 per chocolate, I was honestly a little surprised, bc it's sold under 7 per chocolate in Korea. But they were running a promotion until the 15th -- 5 for $30 -- which made it much more reasonable. I've never had the original version sold in Korea, so I can't compare it directly, but from what I've seen and heard, it seems pretty similar to what's trending there. Korean reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and people say it tastes just like the viral version. The texture is definitely chewy, just like the name suggests, and it's very sweet. Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It's a fun treat to try at least once, especially if you've been curious about the viral Korean Dubai chocolate trend. I'd recommend stopping by and taking advantage of the promo while it lasts!
