The hype and long lines are gone, and maybe the novelty as well. Don't get me wrong: when I was there, a few of the kids and teens were still ooh-ing and ah-ing, so I guess Arctic Bites can still conjure up some magic. Cynical ol' grown-up me though took a skeptical look at the price-to-size ratio, appreciated the semi-generous toppings and IG-able-ness of the rolls, but ultimately thought it was just-ok icecream. Loved the quippy names of the different cups though. That said, a one time bite/try.
They have "fried" ice cream - liquid is poured onto a cold pan & frozen while being pushed around with spatulas & toppings are added. Portions here are quite big: bring a friend. Had Mr Grey (Nutella & Earl Grey mixed together with the rest on top). It was decent though the Earl Grey flavour predominated; nutella was too subtle so it was overwhelmed. There was a nice crunch from the toffee bits.
Passed by here the other day to grab some rolled ice cream with my friend and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I never thought earl grey and nutella would be such a good combo but the that and the toffee bits are such a good addition! The place is small and cute, however I wish they had a bench or tables of some sort to sit on outside. They only had 2 small benches inside to sit at I am definitely excited and will come back to try the other flavours!!
I remember when this place first opened up on Baldwin it was so packed, line ups and an endless wait. It was something new that everyone wanted to try, I'm glad I had the patience to wait and finally decided to try this place out while ubereats offered a bogo. I had the taro coconut with condense milk drizzle, I'm a huge fan of taro and it was pretty good. I just found the toppings to be a bit lacking compared to some other flavors they had. I would have hoped for not just condense milk but maybe a textured topping such as pocky? oreo crumbs? Anything eye catching and more appealing to the eye. But regardless, the texture was smooth and creamy. I think it was good to try it once, don't think I would order it again especially at full price. I think I would stick with some kekou gelato

They both had a nice texture with the different toppings. AMBIENCE | The interior is kind of small so be ready for a line during peak hours! Decided to visit Arctic Bites to grab some dessert because I missed their rolled ice cream!! I ordered their thai to go which is thai milk tea rolled ice cream that is topped with grass jelly, whip cream, half a waffle cookie and drizzled with condensed milk ($8.00). It was really yummy but I wish it had a stronger thai milk tea flavour to it but other than that I still enjoyed it!
I was craving ice cream and wanted something special that was not grocery story ice cream. I noticed Arctic Bites was open and it's not that bad of a walk from my place. Due to the pandemic they are only accepting orders via Ritual, Ubereats and Skip the dishes. If you want to pay in cash you must have exact change. It's quite awkward to pick up your ice cream. There is a chair at the front of the door which is locked. When you arrive you have to show your order by the window and she will finish the order and place it on the chair, unlock the door and walk away. I really wish she gave us napkins bc the ice cream was spilling all through the sides. I had Thai style ice cream before at other stores and it was better. Unfortunately most of the Thai style ice cream shops have closed down in Toronto. Other places would infuse toppings with the ice cream giving it a extra special taste. This place have some good ice cream flavours but it's missing the crunch. The topics they put on the ice cream is not that remarkable it's just sweeten condense milk and 1 sauce of your choice. For the price I paid I rather go elsewhere.
Been here a couple of times and I have to say, it's amazing how they can create ice cream on the fly. A little cream, smash some Oreos, work it over...er Voila! A thin layer of ice cream on their chiller. A quick scrape and the ice cream are delicious rolled tubes. Tada! The Tough Cookie treat! Dress up the ice cream with so many options that you can always find something you like. It takes about 3 mins to make your treat so if there is a line up, you need to be patient and it's worth it. I added so much fun stuff and with the temperatures being what it is, the treat is so needed. I also ate it as fast as it was made. Oh well...I can get another! :D Located on Baldwin street, it can be tough to get parking and the shop is small but it is definitely worth the visit. Cheers!

Definitely recommend the matcha for tea lovers! Their tea flavour is strong! Mango is delicious! Fruit is always a definite choice! All toppings are a perfect match! Feel free to customise your own! And the bubble waffle definitely reminds me of Hong Kong! Even though my hands are freezing, it doesn't stop me from digging in! A must go! And very COVID friendly! With contactless service!
It doesn't matter what the season is, you can't deny these rolled iced cream. Been coming here for more than 2 years now and I must say, it always hit the spot. Its a nice small place with outdoor patio My many years of coming, my top favourite flavour would be matcha and Thai tea...mmm. I would recommend this spot to everyone with a sweet tooth. read more
I went to Arctic Bites as I was craving some ice cream. I usually love ice cream, but I'll be quite honest, I didn't think the quality was very good. The ice cream tasted decent, but nothing too special. The service was very quick and efficient though. The employee was also very kind; it was quite hot outside and I asked for some tap water, but the employee gave me a water bottle for free, which definitely helped in bringing the review of this up! read more
I came across this place from the great TikTok. It was my first time here and they explained everything so well. I was very impressed. It was even my first time trying rolled ice. It for sure won't be my last time either. Try them out when you're in Toronto. They won't disappoint at all. Also... if you leave a review for them you'll get a free welches fruit snack. Thai ice cream is definitely unique and I'm glad Toronto finally has a place that sells Thai-style ice cream. In my week that I was back in the city, I was happy to have had this place in my places to visit. If you don't want a lineup, come on a Tuesday afternoon. There was nobody inside when I arrived around 3pm, and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Upon reading reviews here, I went with the Mr. Grey (Earl Grey) ice cream. The earl grey flavour was definitely there and very delicious; it also works cause the ice cream wasn't too sweet, so the earl grey had a larger presence. Definitely a must-try for those stuck on which to choose. You can also watch how the workers make the ice cream, and yes you can take photos/video of the process. Pretty unique in itself even if you don't wanna purchase an ice cream. A nice addition to the Baldwin strip for sure. read more
I always wanted to try those rolled up ice cream, and finally, I did! I must say, watching the girl flattened the ice cream into a very thin layer, and then rolling it from one end to another without breaking it, seems like extreme upper body workout. I ordered the rolled up thai tea flavored ice cream. They topped it off with a bit of grass jelly and whipped cream on top. The menu said there is condensed milk as well, but I think they forgot to add it. Which is just as well because I like how it's not sweet, but instead, I could taste the strong thai tea flavor. And to be honest, the lack of sweetness also made me feel like I was eating a healthier ice cream. Haha. The other flavor that I really like was earl grey ice cream. Again, I could taste the strong tea flavour with the aroma of earl grey. The service was good. The staff was friendly, and I really like the cute decorations on the wall. It's always a cool concept to see your own ice cream order being made in front of your eyes. They have 8(?) preset flavours you can order with something that should please everyone. The menu is simple so there's not a lot of customization you can have. The inside is aesthetically pleasing with white marble and glass. Service is quite fast considering I came with a group of 7 people (but we also went in at opening). Ice cream was nothing too special, it was really more for the experience to see it rolled. read more
I'm in love with rolled ice cream, and now with Arctic Bites. I had the strawberry rolled ice cream "Love at First Bite". Strawberry ice cream, strawberry slices, strawberry pocky, condensed milk drizzle with whipped cream. I added cotton candy. It was so good and I found it refreshing. Wish there was more space though. read more

For 8.50, it is a bit expensive, but I really loved this ice cream! The mango flavour was so rich and fresh, and the rolled texture was a lil chewy and melt in the mouth. They were very generous with the toppings of lychee jelly, mango pieces and condensed milk that went really well with the ice cream. It would be nice to have a smaller size available for people who go to these places alone but because I had such a craving for ice cream I finished the whole thing in record time! Probably because it also wasn't so overtly sweet that it made me sick, which is usually the case whenever I go to ice cream places. I will definitely be back to try the other flavours that caught my eye. read more
My husband has wanted the roller ice creams ever since he knew they existed. We live in Buffalo and don't have a place around here that does it, so on a weekend trip to Toronto, we had to check it out. It's a tiny little shop kind of off the main drag, but it was still busy when we went which is a good sign. He got the "Nuts For You" Peanut Butter & Nutella and I got "My Main Squeeze" Lemon Cheesecake. Watching the employees make the treats is so mesmerizing! It is a treat in itself, they way the pour the cream out and the toppings, chop and mix it all , smooth it out so meticulously and the make the little rolls. Then of course come the toppings once they place them in the cups. Both flavors were excellent. It's not as heavy as most other ice creams I've had, the flavors are more subtle and overall it is creamier while still being light. Really fun experience and wonderful treat on a hot day! read more

Great experience for my little brother & I! I ordered the coffee but replaced the choc drizzle for condensed milk. Coffee flavor is VERY strong - not as milky as other typical coffee-flavored ice cream, but I liked it. Loved their waffle cookie & def adds to the presentation. Rolls were neat & I love their more unique topping choices. Some include: str pocky, maltesers, lychee jelly, etc. I've been to at least 4 different rolled ice cream shops in the US and they have basic toppings like sprinkles & nuts lol. Definitely more Asian-inspired as they have earl gray, taro, thai tea flavors, etc. My little brother had the Love @ First Bite Strawberry (as pictured) + added waffle cookie. He rates it 5/5. Cashier was nice. Went on a Friday night - prepare for at least a 15 min wait. Overall rating: 9/10 read more

Aesthetically pleasing, amazing toppings (included didn't pay extra) , but the texture was like play doh, so it isn't my favourite ice cream. BUT nothing bad with it, its just my personal preference. I would rather get gelato read more

THE BIG: Located in the heart of the Baldwin Village neighborhood. Tiny space with tons of workers scrambling around and using scrapers to create ice cream on a frozen surface from milk. Parking is relegated to metered street parking so definitely take public transportation. THE BLACK AND WHITE: It was the second day in Toronto and after a day of full drinking, a few buddies and I were trying to hit up an ice cream joint. My friend recommended Kekou so we decided to head there. Right before we got to Kekou, he pointed out Arctic Bites (which was 2 doors down) and how he's never tried it. After two seconds of back and forth bickering, we decided to try it out. The space is small and how they structure the waiting line makes it cramp. There are only 5 options to choose from which is nice since you don't have to go through every option and develop decision fatigue...it's a real thing yall. I ended up getting the Mr. Grey and the bae got the Nuts About You. The cool thing about Arctic Bites is that they make the ice cream in front of you...on a frozen surface...with scrapers! It looked super tedious. They were rotating scrapers every 2 ice cream made. Talk about a workout. The presentation of the ice cream was nice. Mr. Grey was earl grey tea ice cream and a giant semi circle waffle cookie on top. The Nuts For You had so much peanut flavor in it the cool thing about it was the two piroulines sticking out of it (kinda like an alien). Taste was good...not the best ice cream I had but good. I enjoyed watching the scrapers make the ice cream more than the ice cream... THE FINAL BAMBOO: Damage was $11.78 USD for the Mr. Grey and Nuts About You. A little on the expensive side and the ice cream was mediocre. The process of making the ice cream maybe justify the cost...but that's a high maybe. read more

Ice cream: It was so freaking good! Presentation is MUAH. Taste? MUAH. I love the hardness and the creaminess texture combination. Portion looks small but it is enough for you to feel satisfied and not go overboard. Perfect for dessert in the night time during summer time. The location allows you to stroll around downtown in the nighttime while enjoying some nice ice cream. *please try it out. Go at like 8pm, and enjoy your ice cream with a friend strolling around downtown Toronto in the night time. It hits differently, I promise*. The ice cream is not too sweet so perfect for anyone who doesn't really have much of a sweet tooth but still wants something a tiny bit sweet. Did that make sense? LOL. read more

I visited this place the week it opened, but fortunately in a weekday afternoon so the line, while out the door, was not 2 hours long. Honestly, this place was not worth the hype, I personally prefer Wow Wow Yum Yum, who has more flavors to choose from, and who also chop up and mix in the flavors, so your mango ice cream, for example, has real mango chunks. Here they just pour the premixed base onto the cold plate and when done add the default toppings. We got the earl grey, which did not have noticeable tea flavor. The Thai tea is better, and it has bites of red tea in it. The ice cream is creamy, kind of like what you get at nitrogen ice cream places, where the quick freezing makes the ice cream smoother than usual. Another problem with this place is lack of seating. I hope they will add some tables and chairs to the front in the future, but for now, inside the space is too tight for any tables. Towards the end of the store there are a few benches against the wall, but that's where the thick of the line is, so it was impossible to squeeze back in to sit down. Now if I wait at least half an hour, pay a good premium, for a cup of beautiful ice cream, I deserve to sit down and take my time to savor it. Not being able to do so greatly reduce the enjoyment. read more
Such a small little store with such long lines. That must mean it's good. The staff work so hard smoothing out and then rolling the ice cream. It's fascinating watching them work and put your order together. My friends and I ordered the blueberry and matcha to share since the cups aren't small and kinda pricey at $7.50 each. There's some counter space if you want to enjoy your ice cream inside or a patio outside. read more

Literally a super chill spot in the downtown Chinatown area. Came here after dinner with some friends, not knowing that it was closing soon until we got there. When we saw that it was closing soon, went inside and asked if they would serve us anyways. And they did! There seemed to be only one person working there at first but another lady came later on. I ordered the "love at first bite" strawberry flavour and my friends shared a "taro with a twist" taro flavour. Both were suuuuper good. The experience was also cool watching them make the ice cream live for you, which kind of makes up for the $8 cup of ice cream. Also flavours are exotic and interesting. Overall, this place is just one of those ice cream places you will go to and not be disappointed. I definitely recommend checking out other flavours as well! read more
