I wish there was another location other than the one at Ossington as it is super far to get there.. But definitely a must visit if you ever in town. This spot deserves the hype! As someone who likes ice cream but isn't crazy about it, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Bang Bang. First of all, their flavors are so creative! I got the 1/2 ice cream cookie sandwich with the "mud" (with mocha, espresso flavor, and fudge) and "campfire marshmallow" (with marshmallows, white chocolate, and graham cracker bits) flavors, which were delicious. The cookies were good but honestly, I'd just get a regular cup or cone next time to enjoy the ice cream more. They have so many options to choose from, including vegan ice creams. As expected, it's good! So many unique and creative flavors to try. We tried the 1) matcha and jasmine soba and 2) boba milk tea. Both were yummy. The matcha was very jasmine forward, so probably not the best for someone who doesn't like floral flavors. The boba one, as expected, tasted delicious and the tapioca pearls were soft. Can a place still be trendy for over 10 years? I guess Bang Bang tests that theory that it's possible since it still attracts massive lines. Or, maybe, it's just an institution now. I could be wrong, but I feel they were one of the earliest to make their own ice cream on site and blending some non-typical ingredients. For example, they have marshmallows like everyone else, but torching them in advance for a 'campfire' taste seemed pretty ground breaking years ago. Even their made on site waffle cones that are close to an actual waffle felt pretty novel back then. Lines or no lines, trendy or now institution, it doesn't really matter. The ice cream is still extremely good quality, delicious and some pretty incredible flavours and toppings you won't find at most other places (though somewhat duplicated since). read more

I'm sick of sorbet so imagine my partner finding this place (conveniently located right next to the newly opened lunch lady) only to see that they have so many different flavours thát isn't typical! Hadn't realized I already left a review for bang bang, 8 years ago! Defs due for an update. We came around 8pm on a chilly Friday evening, in Nov and surprised to still see a small line! Like damn, does this place ever NOT have a line? We probably waited 10 mins or less before we were inside placing our order, so no biggie. Their flavours right now are poppin but I settled on the tiramisu and peanut butter. BOMB. The peanut butter flavour really came through and that tiramisu tasted real. My friend had gotten the milk tea flavour and I tried a bit of it. Ommmg it's so good! The milk tea flavour was so strong. Any milk tea lover would like this. It's fairly priced for 2 flavours, though I feel like the scoops are a tad small. But that's just me nitpicking. One of my top 3 favorite ice cream shops in downtown Toronto! A must visit if you're craving some ice cream or looking for a dessert spot after a meal in Ossington. The smell of freshly made cookies and egg waffles fill the store and makes you want to stop by for a treat! The shop is small and there is no seating, so it's a quick grab and go spot. There is a bench outside of the shop but other than that, majority of people stand around the area to eat. There is always a line up and the reason why is it's because the flavors are all so good! They have a decent selection of flavors and unique ones as well. I usually go for their London Fog and Milk Tea flavors. Their bubble waffles are a must as well, very delicious when made fresh and pairs nicely with your ice cream. The pricing is also reasonable for what you get as well. The scoops are a good size and the flavors really shine through each bite. Since the shop is very popular, there is usually a few minutes wait for the waffles but the staff are quick and efficient. You can get two flavors I got mud and London fog which in my opinion are the two gets flavors at bang bang, I didn't have to wait too long even though they had a lineup of people. Waited for about 20 minutes for ice cream and got popped on from the birds above the trees while in line (HAHA, how lucky of me). No biggie, wiped off with tissue and continued with my waiting. Ice cream in the wintertime the moment it gets a little bit warmer! I visited Bang Bang Ice Cream the weekend the temperature got out of the negatives (it was 3 degrees haha). I had the totaro and jasmine soba. Totaro had a nice flavour of taro with a light touch of coconut. The Jasmine Soba was definitely my favourite it is more on the bitter flavour side because of its strong matcha and tea-like flavour (which I really liked). My boyfriend enjoyed the Totaro more as it was not bitter like the jasmine soba and was on the sweeter side. The cashier had amazing service and was very sweet with helping me with my order. The store itself is very small in space so we did have to eat outside in the cold. It is probably best to get this when it is much much warmer. For the totaro, I notice a more pronounced ube than anything else, which is cool cuz I love ube. For Matcha/japanese soba, I didn't really know what to expect. They do not offer samples but they will explain the flavors to you. The Totaro has actual taro chunks but nothing special if you eat taro often like I do.
