We had a great experience at Demetres. Sarah provided excellent service and was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our visit. She let us know that every dessert on the menu could be customized, which made choosing much easier. We ordered the Cone-afa Sundae and swapped the honey vanilla ice cream for the ube flavour. It arrived promptly, and the presentation was beautiful. The tall sundae was layered with vibrant ube ice cream, pistachio kunafa, waffle cone pieces, chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry on top, making it look just as good as it tasted. The quality of the dessert really stood out. The ube ice cream had a rich, authentic flavour, and the layers of crunchy granola added a nice contrast in texture, making every bite satisfying. It was a well-balanced dessert that wasn't overly sweet, and we really enjoyed every spoonful.

My daughter and I had a French crepe moo la la and it was delicious. The crepe was so yummy. One of the best crepe we ever had Sam was our waiter and he was very polite and fast :)

I ordered the artisanal ice cream, specifically the Ministry of Mango Sorbetto and Chocolate Cashmere flavours. It came with a cute little waffle cone piece, and the presentation was adorable. Both flavours were delicious, and the ice cream tasted incredibly fresh. Our server, Sarah, was quick and efficient, making the overall experience great.

Worst location ive ever been to.... Ordered an iced drink and it came warm..... Ordered the dubai chocolate waffle thins dip and they came burnt. Sent it back and it came back still burnt. Maybe one shade lighter... Asked for shared plates and they came after all the ice cream melted... not even exaggerating. Funny thing is, when i waved my server down (cuz no one was paying any attention to us) to tell her about the drink, she was like oh no they forgot the ice didnt they. So you knew!!!! But still served me a warm drink one the cold drinks menu. I dont get it.

The customer service was excellent. The server maya was extremely attentive and nice. We got the matchamatics and ube eats on french crepes. The presentation was adequate, but missing the ube wafer sticks as per the menu. When we brought it up to the server she escalated to her manager, who then apologized for it being out of stock, and offered ice cream or extra toppings in place. The ordered items were delicious and generously portioned.

Came here for a late night dessert. We tried the cocoa ono cake which was a chocolate fudge cake with honey vanilla ice cream. It was quite a dense cake and a little dry. It was very chocolatey and rich so the ice cream lightened it up. The honey ice cream was quite good but the more we ate the cake it started to not taste as great. Overall it was okay and satisfies a sweet craving but was nothing amazing. The service was quick, nothing to complain about. The interior is a little outdated so not the biggest fan of the look. The Markham location is much nicer inside (although it is newer).

Splitsonia Belgian waffle with added banana slices + Belgian hot chocolate

I normally would go to the downtown Markham location since it is the nicely renovated one, buy decided to try this Richmond location on a Friday evening. I was pleased to see that there were quite a lot of patrons here! Ordered the Splitsonia Belgian waffle which includes strawberry slices, strawberry coulis sauce, and a scoop of honey vanilla ice cream. I paid an extra $3.50 for banana slices. The ice cream itself was delicious and highly recommend it. The strawberries were super sour, and was a mix of fresh and frozen strawberries. The coulis was as you'd expect. The waffle was not crispy. This would be solved if they let the waffle to cool after cooking as this helps to harden the waffle a bit, before adding any toppings. The Belgian hot chocolate arrived warm rather than hot. So much so that the toasted marshmallow on it didnt melt at all. This $8 drink didn't feel premium as one would expect from a Belgian hot chocolate, and I wouldn't recommend this. Service was rather friendly and fast. Overall, I enjoyed the evening here.

I recently had a fantastic experience with quick and good customer service at Demetres. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer was promptly served and had their needs met. They were knowledgeable about the menu and helped me choose the perfect waffle dessert to suit my taste. The service was efficient, and I didn't have to wait long for my order. Overall, the quick and good customer service at Demetres made my visit enjoyable and left me with a positive impression.! The Tongue Depressor - Belgian Waffle at Demetres is an indulgent treat! You'll enjoy a mouthwatering combination of a fluffy Belgian waffle topped with rich Cocoa Chanel ice cream, fudge brownies, white chocolate buttons, and drizzled with French dark chocolate sauce. It's a decadent dessert that's worth every bite!

Admittedly, this isn't the most beautiful location Demetres has, the parking lot is rather small, and Yonge Street can be a little hectic; however, I appreciate this location a lot for the friendly service and home-y feel! Plus, you get what you would get at other locations as well - the same huge portion and beautiful presentation! I always look over at other tables and see people ordering an entire dessert to themselves and I never understand how they do it! I typically share my crepes with one other person, and that alone is more than enough for me (and it comes up to ~$13.50 plus tax for a crepe decked out with syrups, ice cream and toppings). I appreciate that Demetres always finds different artists to design their menus. It's refreshing and very unique! Bonus: this location is right across the street from Hillcrest so you can walk off your full belly after and feel less guilty about all the sweets you just ingested.

    Smithsonian

Such a delicious crepe place. We got the Smithsonian crepe and it was packed with strawberries, bananas, ice cream and whipped cream. The chocolate drizzle was so delicious on top of the dish. We did also add brownie bits to the dish as well and it was well worth the $2. The only reason it's not a 5 star review Is because we had to wait 15-20 minute wait for a table that we realized it was available the entire time.

To be honest, under my anticipation of this place because I have collected for a long time and finely to visited a few days ago. The service was excellent, and the space was nice too. But the desserts were too sweet for both of us, and the capacity of the food was big enough that no one could be finished it.

The only fruit they had was mango and strawberries. We opted for a Mango Bingsu, based on the photos displayed and we enjoy the sweetness and softness of mango. The bingsu we received was topped with what can ONLY be described as FROZEN mango and still not yet defrosted. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think that it would be served with frozen mango which is usually used for blending smoothies!! My partner did not want to return the barely edible bingsu. The favourite on the dessert was the single small scoop of green tea ice-cream which formed the "leaf" of the strawberry decoration. I truly do recommend getting your bingsu fix elsewhere. I won't be returning. The store is located in the eatery section of H Mart, with ample parking outside in the plaza. I tried 2 of their roll cakes and 6 mochi and can confirm that their desserts aren't too sweet. Their mochi is also amazing - delicious flavours and the mochi skin is super thin. When I drove here the first time, I used Waze and didn't arrive successfully. Whether using a driving app, such as Google Maps or Waze, it led me to the wrong building. Both referenced building A. The address has this store being a part of building D. It's basically the building across from A, but the east side. In other words, you are driving along the third-last aisle that's parallel to Leslie. Waze has corrected the issue. Google Maps hasn't. Use Waze to get here. There were plenty of parking spots in front of the store. It was shaded there. I backed into a spot both times and walked in. I got a different female staffers on both visits. They were both helpful and warm. I have had the matcha KitKat mochi, which had bits of KitKat. Each mochi is individually enclosed in a box. It feels like opening a jewellery box. The mochi is delicate and a decent size. I am not a huge whipped cream person. However, the KitKat was broken up into two pieces and surrounded by the whipped cream. The filling was amazing! It was light and yummy. The mochi had matcha powder on top. It had a subtle matcha taste. The mochi was delicate, but still strong enough to hold in the filling. It was so soft and almost malleable. It was the best mochi that I have had in eons! This visit, I got a six-pack of these mochi flavours: - Mango - Pineapple coconut - Lychee - Golden kiwi - Nutella banana - Strawberry banana If you get six or more mochi, you save a bit. If you pay with cash, the tax is waived off. The mango mochi was awesome! It had diced mango mixed in with the whipped cream. It was dreamy. I got to sample a strawberry marshmallow bar during my first visit. It's not really a bar. It's more of a square. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was slightly sweet. The marshmallow is an experience. It's not squishy like a typical marshmallow. It's crispy on the outside, but softish and moist inside. It's pretty cool. It's not quite dehydrated, but it's halfway there. I got the honeydew marshmallow bars in a little bag last time. They had a natural sweetness to it thanks to the honeydew. It was so good. This time, I got a jar of strawberry marshmallow bars. They still taste as yummy as the first time I had one. Delicious! I ended up getting a couple of cake rolls during my first visit. Both flavours, the taro lychee and ube coconut, were still available this return visit. I rattled off everything that I had bought the last time that the nice woman during my most recent visit gave me a chocolate Oreo cake on the house. Wow! I wasn't expecting that kind gesture at all. The chocolate Oreo cake is decadent. There's chocolate pudding in the middle that is divine! I loved the other two flavours, but the chocolate Oreo is now my new favourite flavour. This place accepts credit and debit cards as payment methods. I used a credit card both times. You can tip if you'd like. All desserts are slightly sweet, with the mochi being a touch sweeter than the cake rolls. If you are like me who doesn't like overly sugary items, the desserts at this store are for you. This place is such a gem. I originally had one mochi. It was not enough! I wanted more and returned to indulge some more. If you love mochi and unique desserts, like marshmallow bars, come here. You won't be disappointed. (333)

Luckily I was on my way to lunch and their current location was kind of on the way, so stopped by to get a drink. Tucked away in an industrial area, I literally walked through a garage door to walk in (although they do have an actual door) since it's left open on days with good weather. No posted billboard type menu, but they ask you to scan a QR code that links to it. I'm definitely a latte type of person, so that's what I ended up ordering, even though their pour over menu was so extensive!!! Since they are influenced by Hong Kong coffee culture, I was not surprised to see they had an Ovalpresso Latte (Ovaltine, espresso, milk). I subbed in oat milk for it. When my drink was ready and I was about to leave, the barista realized he forgot to make it with oat milk and had used regular, so he insisted on making me a new drink. Thoughtful that he thought I may have a lactose intolerance, but I told him that it was just a preference. Still, he started making me a new drink and apologized again. Appreciated that he was all about the principle that I had been charged extra for the alternative, so it wouldn't be right to not remake it correctly. He even told me that I could take the first one as well if I wanted (I declined). The drink was very tasty -- right balance of espresso, milk, and slightly sweet from the flavouring. Similar to a Mocha, but not as chocolatey. It was the right temperature too, which made it easy to drink during my drive. Decent amount of seating and there was also good music playing at a good volume. I can see why this place is popular with a large age range of customers. We got the iced ovaltine latte, hot koji latte and hot roasted latte. The koji latte (espresso, brown sugar, fermented rice and milk) came in the same maybe 8 oz glass as the ovaltine? For $7.5, I would have expected a bit more and not in a glass especially for a hot drink. The fermented rice made the drink taste like a hot chocolate though. The roasted oolong latte and ovaltine were just ok, nothing spectacular. If you're a cafe hopper, it's worth checking out, but not an everyday coffee place.
