We visited D spot Friday afternoon. There is a big parking lot with enough parking spots. Very nice and trendy inside and a good amount of seating available. Service was friendly and pretty fast. The menu has a very wide selection of items. This time we got the oreo & wc waffles and a strawberry crepe. I think the portion sizes are good. Both items were good but very sweet. D Spot interior is gorgeous with themed graphic, bold colours and mood lighting. It was also quite busy the night I went. The staff was friendly however service is slow, most likely due to personnel shortage. The hot chocolate was very basic, while it looks delicious in the glass the quality is simply not there. The crepe was gluten free; this is a new addition to their menu and it definitely showed. The kitchen staff was not trained on the preparation of gluten-free batter; the crepe served was extremely dry and thick, truly not edible. While it looks folded on the plate it was actually torn. What's really more disappointing is the banana served as filling was unripe. With that said, the server noticed and said they were not prepared with the batter hence the quality and he waived the charge. Hopefully they get the hang of this new gluten-free menu. I came here on a quick lunch and recommendation from a friend. I'm so glad I went! I was overly excited and talked too loud (glad no one else was in the restaurant). It was seriously just delicious. Ordered nacho poutine, thought it would be so spicy, but it wasn't at all! I also ordered the waffle road trip, hazelnut cheesecake and the milkshakes. Clearly ordered WAY TOO MUCH! Been here a few times. Great dessert place in Markham East. They've got an array of desserts on hand along with some shareable hot foods, I.e. Nachos. I'll admit this is a late post so I'm not even sure if D Spot offers this anymore. I checked their website and it wasn't there? It was 2020 and my first pandemic birthday. My girlfriends ordered me a Ferrero Roche hazelnut funnel cake. They ordered through UberEats and the ice cream came on the side. Everything was warm and well packaged. This was so big it took 3 people and days to finish it. I just checked D-Spots website and it looks like they're opening a ton of other locations which is nice. We don't have many desserts spots in the suburbs. However, when I looked at the prices on UberEats, the prices ranged from $15-$25 per item and $70 for a full cake. That seems just outrageous to me. I would never spend $18 on a topped waffle even for dine in. Apparently they now offer beef hot dogs, poutine and burgers so you can make a whole evening out of going here. I'll reserve a full review until I can visit in person because the pricing and the offering are scaring me a little. read more

Beautiful interior and very clean. They have a prayer room and Bucket for those that need to clean themselves in the washroom. It's a beautiful place to go and hang out. We ordered the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and it was okay, the portion size was massive so not complaining there. HOWEVER, the cookie was not warm and just "okay." When we asked our waitress if the cookie was warm, she wasn't sure, so she asked and later clarified that it was not a warm cookie so we asked her if it was possible to warm it up... when it arrived...it was not warmed up. The best part of the dessert was the vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle. The waitress didn't check up on us during the meal and when preparing to leave she did not ask us how our meal was either, so we did not get a chance to communicate our discontent. Pretty nice dessert place on Markham road. They just opened a month ago, and the place was popping. Some pretty classic dessert items like waffles, cakes, crepes, ice cream and milkshakes. Came on a weekday evening and was lucky to get a spot right away. It got busy afterwards. (This is located in Paramount plaza with a bunch of other restaurants). I came here on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty busy but we were able to be seated right away. We ordered 3 milkshakes, a waffle platter and a pesto chicken pizza. The vanilla and "together forever" milkshakes were average and weren't really anything special. The mango milkshake was tangy and pretty good, however. The pesto chicken pizza was also pretty good and was fresh and hot out of the oven. The waffles were disappointing as they were very dry and had to be smothered with the caramel sauce in order for it to less dry, which just made it sickly sweet. They are very generous with their portion of ice cream though and we had trouble finishing it between the 3 of us. The service started out pretty good in the beginning, with the waiter being attentive and coming by often to check how we were. Half an hour later however, it started to get pretty bad. The waiter just disappeared altogether and I had to ask for a takeout container 3 times from 3 separate employees, which still never came. I then had to go to the front, after waiting for 15 minutes, and ask for the takeout container which there was a high stack of, that was also easy to reach. Parking is a breeze as it shares it's large parking lot with the plaza. Transit isn't so bad either since it's close to the VIVA line. read more

@dspotcafe has many locations but by far the best one's @ 7700 Markham Rd Unit 3B, Markham, ON L3S 4S1 The staff has always been super friendly & courteous. Always there for the customers. Always there to play around with the menu and make changes to your order as needed, sometimes even at no extra $$ For a restaurant to excel, the two main factors are the quality & taste of the food And the Customer Service. Ahhhh yessssss! Who doesn't love ice cream, waffles, good coffee and crepes? Not only does this place offer desserts, it also offers your typical pub style foods (poutine, nachos, pizzas). Will definitely come back to try more desserts (similar pricing as demetres). Their waffles are so cake like and fluffy, yum! My first D Spot experience was as expected - a dessert place with a large menu and something for everyone. You can clearly get a lot of non dessert food on the menu, but we stuck to dessert and had a S'more Twist waffle to share and teas for our party of 2. The S'more twist was ok...while all ingredients matches the description...it felt that it could have used less sugar to make it lighter! Overall it was a fun experience. This place is great. Loved everything about it. You can catch up with friends while indulging in your sweet tooth. The food was alright but the experience was beyond me. This is a place for young kids to corrugated and hang out all night since there I open till 2 am. Only four member of staff was counted so wait time for your order was around 20 minutes for coffee. Service Was horrible as the waitress only came around as we called her to take our order and ask for a straws as well as she spent most of her time flirting at the register with some boys of UofT Oshawa.
